BSB BSB: One day the donkeys of Saul’s father Kish wandered off, and Kish said to his son Saul, “Take one of the servants and go look for the donkeys.”

BSB BSB: So Saul passed through the hill country of Ephraim and then through the land of Shalishah, but they did not find the donkeys. He and the servant went through the region of Shaalim, but they were not there. Then they went through the land of Benjamin, and still they did not find them.

BSB BSB: “If we do go,” Saul replied, “what can we give the man? For the bread in our packs is gone, and there is no gift to take to the man of God. What do we have?”
8 ULB ഭൃത്യൻ ശൗലിനോട്: “എന്റെ കയ്യിൽ കാൽശേക്കെൽ വെള്ളിയുണ്ട്; ഇത് ഞാൻ ദൈവപുരുഷന് കൊടുക്കാം; അവൻ നമുക്ക് വഴി പറഞ്ഞുതരും” എന്ന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. BSB BSB: The servant answered him again. “Look,” he said, “I have here in my hand a quarter shekel of silver. I will give it to the man of God, and he will tell us our way.”

BSB BSB: (Formerly in Israel, a man on his way to inquire of God would say, “Come, let us go to the seer.” For the prophet of today was formerly called the seer.)
10 ULB ശൗൽ ഭൃത്യനോട്: നല്ലത്; “വരുക, നമുക്ക് പോകാം”എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ അവർ ദൈവപുരുഷൻ താമസിച്ചിരുന്ന പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു പോയി. BSB BSB: “Good,” said Saul to his servant. “Come, let us go.” So they set out for the city where the man of God was.
11 ULB അവർ പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കുള്ള കയറ്റം കയറിച്ചെല്ലുമ്പോൾ വെള്ളംകോരുവാൻ പോകുന്ന യുവതികളെ കണ്ട് അവരോട്: “ദർശകൻ ഇവിടെ ഉണ്ടോ” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. BSB BSB: And as they were climbing the hill to the city, they met some young women coming out to draw water and asked, “Is the seer here?”

BSB BSB: As soon as you enter the city, you will find him before he goes up to the high place to eat. The people will not eat until he comes, because he must bless the sacrifice; after that, the guests will eat. Go up at once; you will find him.”
14 ULB അങ്ങനെ അവർ പട്ടണത്തിൽ ചെന്നു; പട്ടണത്തിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ ശമൂവേൽ പൂജാഗിരിക്ക് പോകുവാനായി അവരുടെ നേരേ വരുന്നു. BSB BSB: So Saul and his servant went up toward the city, and as they were entering it, there was Samuel coming toward them on his way up to the high place.
15 ULB എന്നാൽ ശൗൽ വരുന്നതിന് ഒരു ദിവസം മുൻപ് യഹോവ അത് ശമൂവേലിന് വെളിപ്പെടുത്തി: BSB BSB: Now on the day before Saul’s arrival, the LORD had revealed to Samuel,

BSB BSB: “At this time tomorrow I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin, and you are to anoint him ruler over My people Israel; he will save them from the hand of the Philistines. For I have looked upon My people, because their cry has come to Me.”
17 ULB ശമൂവേൽ ശൗലിനെ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ യഹോവ അവനോട്, ഞാൻ നിന്നോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത ആൾ ഇതാ; ഇവനാകുന്നു എന്റെ ജനത്തെ ഭരിക്കുവാനുള്ളവൻ” എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു. BSB BSB: When Samuel saw Saul, the LORD told him, “Here is the man of whom I spoke; he shall rule over My people.”
18 ULB അന്നേരം ശൗൽ പടിവാതില്ക്കൽ ശമൂവേലിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ എത്തി: “ദർശകന്റെ വീട് എവിടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുതരണമേ” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. BSB BSB: Saul approached Samuel in the gateway and asked, “Would you please tell me where the seer’s house is?”
19 ULB ശമൂവേൽ ശൗലിനോട്: “ദർശകൻ ഞാൻ തന്നേ; എന്റെ കൂടെ പൂജാഗിരിക്ക് വരുവിൻ; നിങ്ങൾ ഇന്ന് എന്നോടുകൂടെ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കണം; നാളെ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ യാത്ര അയയ്ക്കാം; നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ഉള്ളതൊക്കെയും പറഞ്ഞുതരാം. BSB BSB: “I am the seer,” Samuel replied. “Go up before me to the high place, for you shall eat with me today. And when I send you off in the morning, I will tell you all that is in your heart.
20 ULB മൂന്ന് ദിവസം മുമ്പെ കാണാതെപോയ കഴുതകളെക്കുറിച്ച് വിഷമിക്കേണ്ടാ; അവയെ കണ്ടുകിട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു. എന്നാൽ യിസ്രായേൽ ജനത്തിന്റെ ആഗ്രഹമൊക്കെയും ആരുടെമേൽ? നിന്റെമേലും നിന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ഭവനത്തിന്മേലും അല്ലയോ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. BSB BSB: As for the donkeys you lost three days ago, do not worry about them, for they have been found. And upon whom is all the desire of Israel, if not upon you and all your father’s house?”
21 ULB അതിന് ശൗൽ: “ഞാൻ യിസ്രായേൽഗോത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഏറ്റവും ചെറുതായ ബെന്യാമീൻ ഗോത്രത്തിലുള്ളവൻ ആണ്. എന്റെ കുടുംബം ബെന്യാമീൻഗോത്രത്തിലെ സകല കുടുംബങ്ങളിലുംവെച്ച് ഏറ്റവും ചെറിയതുമാണ്. എന്നിട്ടും നീ ഇങ്ങനെ എന്നോട് പറയുന്നത് എന്ത്?” എന്ന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. BSB BSB: Saul replied, “Am I not a Benjamite from the smallest tribe of Israel, and is not my clan the least of all the clans of Benjamin? So why would you say such a thing to me?”

BSB BSB: Then Samuel took Saul and his servant, brought them into the hall, and seated them in the place of honor among those who were invited—about thirty in all.
23 ULB ശമൂവേൽ പാചകക്കാരനോട്: “നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പ്രത്യേകം മാറ്റിവയ്ക്കാൻ പറഞ്ഞിരുന്ന ഭാഗം കൊണ്ടുവരുക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. BSB BSB: And Samuel said to the cook, “Bring the portion I gave you and told you to set aside.”
24 ULB പാചകക്കാരൻ കൈക്കുറകും അതിന്മേൽ ഉള്ളതും കൊണ്ടുവന്ന് ശൗലിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽവെച്ചു. “നിനക്കായി വേർതിരിച്ച് വച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത് ഇതാ; തിന്നുകൊള്ളുക; ഞാൻ ഉത്സവത്തിന് ആളുകളെ ക്ഷണിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇത് ഉത്സവത്തിന് വേണ്ടി നിനക്കായി സൂക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്ന് ശമൂവേൽ പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ ശൗൽ അന്ന് ശമൂവേലിനോടുകൂടെ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചു. BSB BSB: So the cook picked up the leg and what was attached to it and set it before Saul. Then Samuel said, “Here is what was kept back. It was set apart for you. Eat, for it has been kept for you for this occasion, from the time I said, ‘I have invited the people.’” So Saul dined with Samuel that day.

BSB BSB: They got up early in the morning, and just before dawn Samuel called to Saul on the roof, “Get ready, and I will send you on your way!” So Saul got ready, and both he and Samuel went outside together.

BSB BSB: As they were going down to the edge of the city, Samuel said to Saul, “Tell the servant to go on ahead of us, but you stay for a while, and I will reveal to you the word of God.” So the servant went on.
