But when they arrived in the land of the Ammonites,

Has not David instead sent his servants to explore the city, spy it out, and overthrow it?”

4അപ്പോൾ ഹാനൂൻ ദാവീദിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരെ പിടിച്ച് അവരുടെ താടിയെ പാതി ക്ഷൗരം ചെയ്യിപ്പിച്ച് അവരുടെ അങ്കികളെ നടുവിൽ ആസനംവരെ മുറിപ്പിച്ച് അവരെ അയച്ചു.So Hanun took David’s servants, shaved off half of each man’s beard, cut off their garments at the hips, and sent them away.

And if the Ammonites are too strong for you, then I will come to your rescue.

13പിന്നെ യോവാബും കൂടെയുള്ള ജനവും അരാമ്യർക്കെതിരെ പടയ്ക്ക് അടുത്തു; അവർ അവന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്ന് ഓടിപ്പോയി.So Joab and his troops advanced to fight the Arameans, who fled before him.

So Joab returned from fighting against the Ammonites and came to Jerusalem.

16ഹദദേസെർ ആളയച്ച് നദിക്കക്കരെയുള്ള അരാമ്യരെ വരുത്തി; അവർ ഹേലാമിലേക്ക് വന്നു; ഹദദേസെരിന്റെ സേനാപതിയായ ശോബക്ക് അവരുടെ നായകനായിരുന്നു.Hadadezer sent messengers to bring more Arameans from beyond the Euphrates, and they came to Helam with Shobach the commander of Hadadezer’s army leading them.

Then the Arameans arrayed themselves against David and fought against him.

He also struck down Shobach the commander of their army, who died there.
