1 ULB അനന്തരം യഹോവ അവിടുന്ന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരുന്നതുപോലെ സാറായെ സന്ദർശിച്ചു; അവിടുന്ന് വാഗ്ദത്തം ചെയ്തിരുന്നതുപോലെ യഹോവ സാറായ്ക്ക് നിവൃത്തിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു. BSB BSB: Now the LORD attended to Sarah as He had said, and the LORD did for Sarah what He had promised.
2 ULB അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ വാർദ്ധക്യത്തിൽ ദൈവം അവനോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരുന്ന ആ നിശ്ചിതസമയത്ത് സാറാ ഗർഭം ധരിച്ച് ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു. BSB BSB: So Sarah conceived and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised.
3 ULB സാറാ അബ്രാഹാമിന് പ്രസവിച്ച മകന് യിസ്ഹാക്ക് എന്ന് അബ്രഹാം പേരിട്ടു. BSB BSB: And Abraham gave the name Isaac to the son Sarah bore to him.
4 ULB ദൈവം അബ്രാഹാമിനോട് കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നതുപോലെ അവൻ തന്റെ മകനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെ എട്ടാം ദിവസം പരിച്ഛേദന കഴിച്ചു. BSB BSB: When his son Isaac was eight days old, Abraham circumcised him, as God had commanded him.
5 ULB തന്റെ മകനായ യിസ്ഹാക്ക് ജനിച്ചപ്പോൾ അബ്രാഹാമിന് നൂറു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു. BSB BSB: Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him.
6 ULB “ദൈവം എനിക്ക് ചിരിയുണ്ടാക്കി; കേൾക്കുന്നവരെല്ലാം എന്നോടുകൂടെ ചിരിക്കും” എന്ന് സാറാ പറഞ്ഞു. BSB BSB: Then Sarah said, “God has made me laugh, and everyone who hears of this will laugh with me.”
7 ULB “സാറാ മക്കൾക്ക് മുലകൊടുക്കുമെന്ന് അബ്രാഹാമിനോട് ആർ പറയുമായിരുന്നു? അവന്റെ വാർദ്ധക്യത്തിലല്ലോ ഞാൻ അവന് ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചത്എന്നും അവൾ പറഞ്ഞു. BSB BSB: She added, “Who would have told Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age.”
8 ULB പൈതൽ വളർന്നു മുലകുടി മാറി; യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ മുലകുടി മാറിയ അന്നേ ദിവസം അബ്രാഹാം ഒരു വലിയ വിരുന്നു കഴിച്ചു. BSB BSB: So the child grew and was weaned, and Abraham held a great feast on the day Isaac was weaned.
9 ULB ഈജിപ്റ്റുകാരിയായ ദാസി ഹാഗാർ അബ്രാഹാമിനു പ്രസവിച്ച മകൻ പരിഹാസി എന്നു സാറാ കണ്ട് അബ്രാഹാമിനോട്: BSB BSB: But Sarah saw that the son whom Hagar the Egyptian had borne to Abraham was mocking her son,
10 ULB “ഈ ദാസിയെയും മകനെയും പുറത്താക്കിക്കളയുക; ഈ ദാസിയുടെ മകൻ എന്റെ മകൻ യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടുകൂടെ അവകാശിയാകരുത്” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. BSB BSB: and she said to Abraham, “Expel the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with my son Isaac!”
11 ULB തന്റെ മകൻ നിമിത്തം ഈ കാര്യം അബ്രാഹാമിന് ഏറെ അനിഷ്ടമായി. BSB BSB: Now this matter distressed Abraham greatly because it concerned his son Ishmael.
13 ULB ദാസിയുടെ മകനെയും ഞാൻ ഒരു ജനതയാക്കും; അവൻ നിന്റെ സന്തതിയല്ലോ” എന്ന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു. BSB BSB: But I will also make a nation of the slave woman’s son, because he is your offspring.”
14 ULB അബ്രാഹാം അതിരാവിലെ എഴുന്നേറ്റ് അപ്പവും ഒരു തുരുത്തി വെള്ളവും എടുത്ത് ഹാഗാറിന്റെ തോളിൽവച്ചു, കുട്ടിയെയും കൊടുത്തു അവളെ അയച്ചു; അവൾ പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോയി ബേർ-ശേബ മരുഭൂമിയിൽ അലഞ്ഞുനടന്നു. BSB BSB: Early in the morning, Abraham got up, took bread and a skin of water, put them on Hagar’s shoulders, and sent her away with the boy. She left and wandered in the Wilderness of Beersheba.
15 ULB തുരുത്തിയിലെ വെള്ളം ചെലവായശേഷം അവൾ കുട്ടിയെ ഒരു കുറ്റിക്കാട്ടിൻ തണലിൽ കിടത്തി. BSB BSB: When the water in the skin was gone, she left the boy under one of the bushes.

BSB BSB: Then she went off and sat down nearby, about a bowshot away, for she said, “I cannot bear to watch the boy die!” And as she sat nearby, she lifted up her voice and wept.
18 ULB എഴുന്നേറ്റ് ബാലനെ താങ്ങി എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചുകൊൾക; ഞാൻ അവനെ ഒരു വലിയ ജനതയാക്കും” എന്ന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു. BSB BSB: Get up, lift up the boy, and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation.”
19 ULB ദൈവം അവളുടെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നു; അവൾ ഒരു നീരുറവു കണ്ടു, ചെന്ന് തുരുത്തിയിൽ വെള്ളം നിറച്ചു ബാലനെ കുടിപ്പിച്ചു. BSB BSB: Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. So she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink.
20 ULB ദൈവം ബാലനോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൻ മരുഭൂമിയിൽ പാർത്തു, മുതിർന്നപ്പോൾ ഒരു വില്ലാളിയായി തീർന്നു. BSB BSB: And God was with the boy, and he grew up and settled in the wilderness and became a great archer.
21 ULB അവൻ പാരാൻമരുഭൂമിയിൽ പാർത്തു; അവന്റെ അമ്മ ഈജിപ്റ്റുദേശത്തുനിന്ന് അവന് ഒരു ഭാര്യയെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. BSB BSB: And while he was dwelling in the Wilderness of Paran, his mother got a wife for him from the land of Egypt.
22 ULB അക്കാലത്ത് അബിമേലെക്കും അവന്റെ സൈന്യാധിപനായ പീക്കോലും അബ്രാഹാമിനോട് സംസാരിച്ചു: “നിന്റെ സകലപ്രവൃത്തിയിലും ദൈവം നിന്നോടുകൂടെയുണ്ട്; BSB BSB: At that time Abimelech and Phicol the commander of his army said to Abraham, “God is with you in all that you do.
23 ULB അതുകൊണ്ട് നീ എന്നോടോ എന്റെ സന്തതിയോടോ എന്റെ ഭാവിതലമുറയോടോ വ്യാജം പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാതെ ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു ദയ കാണിച്ചതുപോലെ നീ എന്നോടും നീ പാർത്തുവരുന്ന ദേശത്തോടും ദയകാണിക്കുമെന്ന് ദൈവത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി ഇവിടെവച്ച് എന്നോട് സത്യം ചെയ്ക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. BSB BSB: Now, therefore, swear to me here before God that you will not deal falsely with me or my children or descendants. Show to me and to the country in which you reside the same kindness that I have shown to you.”
24 ULB “ഞാൻ സത്യം ചെയ്യാം” എന്ന് അബ്രാഹാം പറഞ്ഞു. BSB BSB: And Abraham replied, “I swear it.”
25 ULB എന്നാൽ അബീമേലെക്കിന്റെ ദാസന്മാർ പിടിച്ചെടുത്ത കിണർ നിമിത്തം അബ്രാഹാം അബീമേലെക്കിനോട് പരാതിപറഞ്ഞു. BSB BSB: But when Abraham complained to Abimelech about a well that Abimelech’s servants had seized,
26 ULB അതിന് അബീമേലെക്ക്: “ഇക്കാര്യം ചെയ്തത് ആരെന്ന് ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നില്ല; നീ എന്നെ അറിയിച്ചിട്ടില്ല; ഇന്നല്ലാതെ ഞാൻ അതിനെക്കുറിച്ച് കേട്ടിട്ടുമില്ല” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. BSB BSB: Abimelech replied, “I do not know who has done this. You did not tell me, so I have not heard about it until today.”
27 ULB പിന്നെ അബ്രാഹാം അബീമേലെക്കിന് ആടുമാടുകളെ കൊടുത്തു; അവർ ഇരുവരും തമ്മിൽ ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്തു. BSB BSB: So Abraham brought sheep and cattle and gave them to Abimelech, and the two men made a covenant.
28 ULB അബ്രാഹാം ഏഴു പെണ്ണാട്ടിൻകുട്ടികളെ വേറിട്ടു നിർത്തി. BSB BSB: Abraham separated seven ewe lambs from the flock,
29 ULB അപ്പോൾ അബീമേലെക്ക് അബ്രാഹാമിനോട്: “നീ വേറിട്ടു നിർത്തിയ ഈ ഏഴു പെണ്ണാട്ടിൻകുട്ടികൾ എന്തിന്? എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. BSB BSB: and Abimelech asked him, “Why have you set apart these seven ewe lambs?”
30 ULB “ഞാൻ ഈ കിണർ കുഴിച്ചു എന്നതിന് സാക്ഷിയായി നീ ഈ ഏഴു പെണ്ണാട്ടിൻകുട്ടികളെ എന്നോടു വാങ്ങേണം” എന്ന് അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു. BSB BSB: He replied, “You are to accept the seven ewe lambs from my hand as my witness that I dug this well.”
31 ULB അവർ ഇരുവരും അവിടെവച്ച് സത്യം ചെയ്തതിനാൽ അവൻ ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന് ബേർ-ശേബ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു. BSB BSB: So that place was called Beersheba, because it was there that the two of them swore an oath.
32 ULB ഇങ്ങനെ അവർ ബേർ-ശേബയിൽവച്ച് ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്തു. അബീമേലെക്കും അവന്റെ സൈന്യാധിപനായ പീക്കോലും എഴുന്നേറ്റ് ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ ദേശത്തേക്ക് മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി. BSB BSB: After they had made the covenant at Beersheba, Abimelech and Phicol the commander of his army got up and returned to the land of the Philistines.
33 ULB അബ്രാഹാം ബേർ-ശേബയിൽ ഒരു പിചുലവൃക്ഷം നട്ടു, നിത്യദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ അവിടെവച്ച് ആരാധന കഴിച്ചു. BSB BSB: And Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called upon the name of the LORD, the Eternal God.
34 ULB അബ്രാഹാം കുറേക്കാലം ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ ദേശത്തു പാർത്തു. BSB BSB: And Abraham resided in the land of the Philistines for a long time.
