2 ULB “നീ ഒരു പുസ്തകച്ചുരുൾ വാങ്ങി ഞാൻ യോശീയാവിന്റെ കാലത്തു നിന്നോടു സംസാരിച്ചുതുടങ്ങിയ നാൾമുതൽ ഇന്നുവരെയും യിസ്രായേലിനെയും യെഹൂദയെയും സകലജനതകളെയുംകുറിച്ച് ഞാൻ നിന്നോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനങ്ങളെല്ലാം അതിൽ എഴുതുക. BSB BSB: “Take a scroll and write on it all the words I have spoken to you concerning Israel, Judah, and all the nations, from the day I first spoke to you during the reign of Josiah until today.

BSB BSB: Perhaps when the people of Judah hear about all the calamity I plan to bring upon them, each of them will turn from his wicked way. Then I will forgive their iniquity and their sin.”

BSB BSB: so you are to go to the house of the LORD on a day of fasting, and in the hearing of the people you are to read the words of the LORD from the scroll you have written at my dictation. Read them in the hearing of all the people of Judah who are coming from their cities.

BSB BSB: Perhaps they will bring their petition before the LORD, and each one will turn from his wicked way; for great are the anger and fury that the LORD has pronounced against this people.”

BSB BSB: So Baruch son of Neriah did everything that Jeremiah the prophet had commanded him. In the house of the LORD he read the words of the LORD from the scroll.

12 ULB അവൻ രാജഗൃഹത്തിൽ രായസക്കാരന്റെ മുറിയിൽ ചെന്നു; അവിടെ സകലപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും ഇരുന്നിരുന്നു; രായസക്കാരൻ എലീശാമായും ശെമയ്യാവിന്റെ മകൻ ദെലായാവും അഖ്ബോരിന്റെ മകൻ എൽനാഥാനും ശാഫാന്റെ മകൻ ഗെമര്യാവും ഹനന്യാവിന്റെ മകൻ സിദെക്കീയാവും ശേഷം പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും തന്നെ. BSB BSB: he went down to the scribe’s chamber in the king’s palace, where all the officials were sitting: Elishama the scribe, Delaiah son of Shemaiah, Elnathan son of Achbor, Gemariah son of Shaphan, Zedekiah son of Hananiah, and all the other officials.

BSB BSB: Then all the officials sent word to Baruch through Jehudi son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, saying, “Bring the scroll that you read in the hearing of the people, and come here.” So Baruch son of Neriah took the scroll and went to them.

BSB BSB: So the officials went to the king in the courtyard. And having stored the scroll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe, they reported everything to the king.
21 ULB രാജാവ് ചുരുൾ എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു വരുവാൻ യെഹൂദിയെ അയച്ചു; അവൻ രായസക്കാരനായ എലീശാമയുടെ മുറിയിൽനിന്ന് അതെടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; യെഹൂദി അത് രാജാവിനെയും രാജാവിന്റെ ചുറ്റും നില്ക്കുന്ന സകലപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെയും വായിച്ചു കേൾപ്പിച്ചു. BSB BSB: Then the king sent Jehudi to get the scroll, and he took it from the chamber of Elishama the scribe. And Jehudi read it in the hearing of the king and all the officials who were standing beside him.
22 ULB ഒമ്പതാം മാസത്തിലെ ആ ദിവസം രാജാവ് ഹേമന്തഗൃഹത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നെരിപ്പോട്ടിൽ തീ കത്തിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. BSB BSB: Since it was the ninth month, the king was sitting in his winter quarters with a fire burning before him.
23 ULB യെഹൂദി മൂന്നു നാലു ഭാഗം വായിച്ചുകഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ രാജാവ് എഴുത്തുകാരന്റെ ഒരു കത്തികൊണ്ട് അത് മുറിച്ച് ചുരുൾ മുഴുവനും നെരിപ്പോട്ടിലെ തീയിൽ വെന്തുപോകുംവരെ നെരിപ്പോട്ടിൽ ഇട്ടുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. BSB BSB: And as soon as Jehudi had read three or four columns, Jehoiakim would cut them off with a scribe’s knife and throw them into the firepot, until the entire scroll had been consumed by the fire.
24 ULB രാജാവോ, ആ വചനങ്ങളെല്ലാം കേട്ട ഭൃത്യന്മാരിൽ ആരെങ്കിലുമോ, ഭയപ്പെടുകയോ വസ്ത്രം കീറുകയോ ചെയ്തില്ല. BSB BSB: Yet in hearing all these words, the king and his servants did not become frightened or tear their garments.
25 ULB “ചുരുൾ ചുട്ടുകളയരുതേ” എന്ന് എൽനാഥാനും ദെലായാവും ശെമര്യാവും രാജാവിനോട് അപേക്ഷിച്ചു എങ്കിലും അവൻ അവരുടെ അപേക്ഷ കേട്ടില്ല. BSB BSB: Even though Elnathan, Delaiah, and Gemariah urged the king not to burn the scroll, he would not listen to them.
26 ULB അനന്തരം ബാരൂക്ക് എന്ന എഴുത്തുകാരനെയും യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകനെയും പിടിക്കുവാൻ രാജാവ് രാജകുമാരനായ യെരഹ്മെയേലിനോടും അസ്രീയേലിന്റെ മകനായ സെരായാവിനോടും അബ്ദേലിന്റെ മകനായ ശെലെമ്യാവിനോടും കല്പിച്ചു; എന്നാൽ യഹോവ അവരെ ഒളിപ്പിച്ചു. BSB BSB: Instead, the king commanded Jerahmeel, a son of the king, as well as Seraiah son of Azriel and Shelemiah son of Abdeel, to seize Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet. But the LORD had hidden them.
28 ULB “നീ മറ്റൊരു ചുരുൾ വാങ്ങി യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യെഹോയാക്കീം ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞ മുമ്പിലത്തെ ചുരുളിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന സകല വചനങ്ങളും അതിൽ എഴുതുക. BSB BSB: “Take another scroll and rewrite on it the very words that were on the original scroll, which Jehoiakim king of Judah has burned.
29 ULB എന്നാൽ യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യെഹോയാക്കീമിനോട് നീ പറയേണ്ടത്: “യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ‘ബാബേൽരാജാവ് വന്ന് ഈ ദേശത്തെ നശിപ്പിച്ച്, മനുഷ്യനെയും മൃഗത്തെയും നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും എന്നു നീ അതിൽ എഴുതിയത് എന്തിന്’ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് നീ ആ ചുരുൾ ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ. BSB BSB: You are to proclaim concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah that this is what the LORD says: You have burned the scroll and said, ‘Why have you written on it that the king of Babylon would surely come and destroy this land and deprive it of man and beast?’
30 ULB അതുകൊണ്ട് യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യെഹോയാക്കീമിനെക്കുറിച്ച് യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “അവന് ദാവീദിന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുവാൻ ഒരുത്തനും ഉണ്ടാവുകയില്ല; അവന്റെ ശവം പകൽ വെയിലും രാത്രിയിൽ മഞ്ഞും ഏല്ക്കുവാൻ എറിഞ്ഞുകളയും. BSB BSB: Therefore this is what the LORD says about Jehoiakim king of Judah: He will have no one to sit on David’s throne, and his body will be thrown out and exposed to heat by day and frost by night.

BSB BSB: I will punish him and his descendants and servants for their iniquity. I will bring on them, on the residents of Jerusalem, and on the men of Judah, all the calamity about which I warned them but they did not listen.”
32 ULB അങ്ങനെ യിരെമ്യാവ് മറ്റൊരു ചുരുൾ എടുത്ത് നേര്യാവിന്റെ മകൻ ബാരൂക്ക് എന്ന എഴുത്തുകാരന്റെ കൈയിൽ കൊടുത്തു; അവൻ യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യെഹോയാക്കീം തീയിൽ ഇട്ടു ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞ പുസ്തകത്തിലെ വചനങ്ങളെല്ലാം യിരെമ്യാവിന്റെ വാമൊഴിപ്രകാരം അതിൽ എഴുതി; അതുപോലെയുള്ള അനേകം വചനങ്ങളും ചേർത്തെഴുതുവാൻ സംഗതിവന്നു. BSB BSB: Then Jeremiah took another scroll and gave it to the scribe Baruch son of Neriah, and at Jeremiah’s dictation he wrote on it all the words of the scroll that Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire. And many similar words were added to them.
