5ഇങ്ങനെ ഈ അഞ്ചു അമോര്യരാജാക്കന്മാരും ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂടി; അവരും അവരുടെ സൈന്യങ്ങളും ഗിബെയോന് നേരെ പാളയം ഇറങ്ങി അതിനോട് യുദ്ധംചെയ്തു.So the five kings of the Amorites—the kings of Jerusalem, Hebron, Jarmuth, Lachish, and Eglon—joined forces and advanced with all their armies. They camped before Gibeon and made war against it.

Come quickly and save us! Help us, because all the kings of the Amorites from the hill country have joined forces against us.”

7അപ്പോൾ യോശുവയും എല്ലാ പടയാളികളും പരാക്രമശാലികളും ഗില്ഗാലിൽനിന്ന് പുറപ്പെട്ടു.So Joshua and his whole army, including all the mighty men of valor, came from Gilgal.

9യോശുവ ഗില്ഗാലിൽനിന്ന് പുറപ്പെട്ട് രാത്രി മുഴുവനും നടന്ന്, പെട്ടെന്ന് അവരെ ആക്രമിച്ചു.After marching all night from Gilgal, Joshua caught them by surprise.

10യഹോവ അവരെ ചിന്താക്കുഴപ്പത്തിലാക്കി. ഗിബെയോനിൽവെച്ച് യിസ്രായേൽ അവരെ കഠിനമായി തോല്പിച്ച് ബേത്ത്-ഹോരോനിലേക്കുള്ള കയറ്റംവഴി അവരെ ഓടിച്ച് അസേക്കവരെയും മക്കേദവരെയും അവരെ വെട്ടി.And the LORD threw them into confusion before Israel, who defeated them in a great slaughter at Gibeon, pursued them along the ascent to Beth-horon, and struck them down as far as Azekah and Makkedah.

12എന്നാൽ യഹോവ അമോര്യരെ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്ത ദിവസം യോശുവ യഹോവയോട് സംസാരിച്ചു. യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ കേൾക്കെ: “സൂര്യാ, നീ ഗിബെയോനിലും ചന്ദ്രാ, നീ അയ്യാലോൻ താഴ്‌വരയിലും നില്ക്ക“എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.On the day that the LORD gave the Amorites over to the Israelites, Joshua spoke to the LORD in the presence of Israel: “O sun, stand still over Gibeon, O moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.”

Is this not written in the Book of Jashar? “So the sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day.”

14യഹോവ ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്റെ വാക്ക് കേട്ടനുസരിച്ച ആ ദിവസം പോലെ ഒരു ദിവസം അതിന് മുമ്പും പിമ്പും ഉണ്ടായിട്ടില്ല; യഹോവ തന്നെയായിരുന്നു യിസ്രായേലിനു വേണ്ടി യുദ്ധം ചെയ്തത്.There has been no day like it before or since, when the LORD listened to the voice of a man, because the LORD fought for Israel.

15യോശുവയും യിസ്രായേൽ ജനമൊക്കെയും ഗില്ഗാലിൽ പാളയത്തിലേക്ക് മടങ്ങിവന്നു.Then Joshua returned with all Israel to the camp at Gilgal.

16എന്നാൽ ആ രാജാക്കന്മാർ അഞ്ചുപേരും രക്ഷപെട്ട് മക്കേദയിലെ ഗുഹയിൽ ചെന്ന് ഒളിച്ചു.Now the five kings had fled and hidden in the cave at Makkedah.

17രാജാക്കന്മാർ മക്കേദയിലെ ഗുഹയിൽ ഒളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതായി യോശുവെക്ക് അറിവുകിട്ടി.And Joshua was informed: “The five kings have been found; they are hiding in the cave at Makkedah.”

18യോശുവ: “ഗുഹയുടെ ദ്വാരത്തിൽ വലിയ കല്ലുകൾ ഉരുട്ടിവെച്ച് അവരെ കാക്കേണ്ടതിന് അവിടെ ആളെയാക്കുവീൻ;So Joshua said, “Roll large stones against the mouth of the cave, and post men there to guard them.

19നിങ്ങൾ ശത്രുക്കളെ പിന്തുടർന്ന് അവരുടെ പിൻപടയെ ആക്രമിക്കുക. പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ കടപ്പാൻ അവരെ സമ്മതിക്കരുത്; നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു“എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.But you, do not stop there. Pursue your enemies and attack them from behind. Do not let them reach their cities, for the LORD your God has delivered them into your hand.”

20അങ്ങനെ യോശുവയും യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളും ഒരു മഹാസംഹാരം നടത്തി.ജീവനോടെ ശേഷിച്ചവർ ഉറപ്പുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ ശരണം പ്രാപിച്ചു.So Joshua and the Israelites continued to inflict a terrible slaughter until they had finished them off, and the remaining survivors retreated to the fortified cities.

21പടയാളികൾ സമാധാനത്തോടെ മക്കേദയിലെ പാളയത്തിൽ യോശുവയുടെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിവന്നു; യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ നേരെ ആരും നാവനക്കിയില്ല.The whole army returned safely to Joshua in the camp at Makkedah, and no one dared to utter a word against the Israelites.

22പിന്നെ യോശുവ: “ഗുഹയുടെ വായ്തുറന്ന് രാജാക്കന്മാരെ അഞ്ചുപേരേയും എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരുവീൻ“എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.Then Joshua said, “Open the mouth of the cave and bring those five kings out to me.”

23അവർ യെരൂശലേംരാജാവ്, ഹെബ്രോൻരാജാവ്, യർമ്മൂത്ത്‌രാജാവ്, ലാഖീശ്‌രാജാവ്, എഗ്ലോൻരാജാവ് എന്നീ അഞ്ചുരാജാക്കന്മാരെയും ഗുഹയിൽനിന്ന് അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.So they brought the five kings out of the cave—the kings of Jerusalem, Hebron, Jarmuth, Lachish, and Eglon.

24അപ്പോൾ യോശുവ യിസ്രായേൽപുരുഷന്മാരെ എല്ലാം വിളിപ്പിച്ചു. തന്നോടുകൂടെ പോയ പടയാളികളുടെ അധിപതിമാരോടു: “ഈ രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ കഴുത്തിൽ കാൽ വെക്കുവീൻ“എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു. അവർ അടുത്തുചെന്ന് അവരുടെ കഴുത്തിൽ കാൽവെച്ചു.When they had brought the kings to Joshua, he summoned all the men of Israel and said to the army commanders who had accompanied him, “Come here and put your feet on the necks of these kings.” So the commanders came forward and put their feet on their necks.

25യോശുവ അവരോട്: “ഭയപ്പെടരുത്, ശങ്കിക്കരുത്; ഉറപ്പും ധൈര്യവും ഉള്ളവരായിരിപ്പീൻ; നിങ്ങൾ യുദ്ധംചെയ്യുന്ന സകലശത്രുക്കളോടും യഹോവ ഇങ്ങനെ തന്നെ ചെയ്യും“എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.“Do not be afraid or discouraged,” Joshua said. “Be strong and courageous, for the LORD will do this to all the enemies you fight.”

26അതിനു ശേഷം യോശുവ ആ അഞ്ച് രാജാക്കന്മരെ വെട്ടിക്കൊന്ന് മരത്തിന്മേൽ തൂക്കിAfter this, Joshua struck down and killed the kings, and he hung their bodies on five trees and left them there until evening.

Then large stones were placed against the mouth of the cave, and the stones are there to this day.

He devoted to destruction everyone in the city, leaving no survivors. So he did to the king of Makkedah as he had done to the king of Jericho.

29യോശുവയും യിസ്രായേൽ ജനവും മക്കേദയിൽനിന്ന് ലിബ്നെക്ക് ചെന്ന് അതിനോട് യുദ്ധം ചെയ്തു.Then Joshua and all Israel with him moved on from Makkedah to Libnah and fought against Libnah.

30യഹോവ അതിനെയും അതിലെ രാജാവിനെയും യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചു; അവർ അതിലുള്ള എല്ലാവരെയും സംഹരിച്ചു; ഒരുത്തനെയും ശേഷിപ്പിച്ചില്ല; യെരീഹോരാജാവിനോട് ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അവർ അവിടത്തെ രാജാവിനോടും ചെയ്തു.And the LORD also delivered that city and its king into the hand of Israel, and Joshua put all the people to the sword, leaving no survivors. And he did to the king of Libnah as he had done to the king of Jericho.

31യോശുവയും യിസ്രായേൽ ജനവും ലിബ്നയിൽനിന്ന് ലാഖീശിലേക്ക് ചെന്ന് പാളയം ഇറങ്ങി അതിനോട് യുദ്ധംചെയ്തു.And Joshua and all Israel with him moved on from Libnah to Lachish. They laid siege to it and fought against it.

He put all the people to the sword, just as he had done to Libnah.

36യോശുവയും യിസ്രായേൽ ജനവും എഗ്ലോനിൽനിന്ന് ഹെബ്രോനിലേക്ക് ചെന്ന് യുദ്ധംചെയ്തു.Then Joshua and all Israel with him went up from Eglon to Hebron and fought against it.

Joshua left no survivors, just as he had done at Eglon; he devoted to destruction Hebron and everyone in it.

38പിന്നെ യോശുവയും യിസ്രായേൽ ജനവും തിരിഞ്ഞ് ദെബീരിലേക്ക് ചെന്ന് യുദ്ധംചെയ്തു.Finally Joshua and all Israel with him turned toward Debir and fought against it.

They put them to the sword and devoted to destruction everyone in the city, leaving no survivors. Joshua did to Debir and its king as he had done to Hebron and as he had done to Libnah and its king.

He devoted to destruction everything that breathed, just as the LORD, the God of Israel, had commanded.

41യോശുവ കാദേശ്ബർന്നേയ മുതൽ ഗസ്സാ വരെയും ഗിബെയോൻ വരെ ഗോശെൻ ദേശം ഒക്കെയും ജയിച്ചടക്കി.Joshua conquered the area from Kadesh-barnea to Gaza, and the whole region of Goshen as far as Gibeon.

42യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ യിസ്രായേലിനു വേണ്ടി യുദ്ധം ചെയ്തതിനാൽ ഈ രാജാക്കന്മാരെയൊക്കെയും അവരുടെ ദേശവും യോശുവ ഒരേ സമയത്ത് പിടിച്ചു.And because the LORD, the God of Israel, fought for Israel, Joshua captured all these kings and their land in one campaign.

43പിന്നെ യോശുവയും എല്ലായിസ്രായേലും ഗില്ഗാലിൽ പാളയത്തിലേക്ക് മടങ്ങിപ്പോന്നു.Then Joshua returned with all Israel to the camp at Gilgal.
