1അനന്തരം ലേവ്യരുടെ കുടുംബത്തലവന്മാർ കനാൻ ദേശത്തുള്ള ശീലോവിൽ പുരോഹിതനായ എലെയാസാരിന്റെയും നൂന്റെ മകനായ യോശുവയുടെയും യിസ്രായേൽഗോത്രങ്ങളിലെ കുടുംബത്തലവന്മാരുടെയും അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു പറഞ്ഞത്:Now the family heads of the Levites approached Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the heads of the other tribes of Israel

2“യഹോവ ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് പാർപ്പാൻ പട്ടണങ്ങളും ഞങ്ങളുടെ കന്നുകാലികൾക്ക് മേച്ചിൽപ്പുറങ്ങളും തരുവാൻ മോശെമുഖാന്തരം കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ?“at Shiloh in the land of Canaan and said to them, “The LORD commanded through Moses that we be given cities in which to live, together with pasturelands for our livestock.”

3അപ്പോൾ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ തങ്ങളുടെ അവകാശത്തിൽനിന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനപ്രകാരം താഴെപ്പറയുന്ന പട്ടണങ്ങളും അവയുടെ മേച്ചിൽപ്പുറങ്ങളും ലേവ്യർക്കു കൊടുത്തു.So by the command of the LORD, the Israelites gave the Levites these cities and their pasturelands out of their own inheritance:

4കെഹാത്യകുടുംബങ്ങൾക്കു നറുക്കുവീണതനുസരിച്ച് പുരോഹിതനായ അഹരോന്റെ പിൻ ഗാമികളായ ലേവ്യർക്ക് യെഹൂദാഗോത്രത്തിലും ശിമെയോൻ ഗോത്രത്തിലും ബെന്യാമീൻ ഗോത്രത്തിലും കൂടെ പതിമൂന്ന് പട്ടണങ്ങൾ കിട്ടി.The first lot came out for the Kohathite clans. The Levites who were descendants of Aaron the priest received thirteen cities by lot from the tribes of Judah, Simeon, and Benjamin.

5കെഹാത്തിന്റെ ശേഷം മക്കൾക്ക് എഫ്രയീംഗോത്രത്തിലും ദാൻഗോത്രത്തിലും മനശ്ശെയുടെ പാതിഗോത്രത്തിലും നറുക്കുപ്രകാരം പത്ത് പട്ടണങ്ങൾ കിട്ടി.The remaining descendants of Kohath received ten cities by lot from the tribes of Ephraim, Dan, and the half-tribe of Manasseh.

20ലേവിഗോത്രത്തിലെ കെഹാത്യകുടുംബങ്ങളിൽ ശേഷിച്ചവർക്ക്, നറുക്കു പ്രകാരം എഫ്രയീംഗോത്രത്തിൽ നിന്ന് കിട്ടിയ പട്ടണങ്ങൾ ഇവ ആയിരുന്നു:The remaining Kohathite clans of the Levites were allotted these cities: From the tribe of Ephraim

40അങ്ങനെ ലേവ്യകുടുംബത്തിൽ ശേഷിച്ച മെരാര്യർക്ക് നറുക്കനുസരിച്ച് കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി കിട്ടിയത് പന്ത്രണ്ട് പട്ടണങ്ങൾ ആയിരുന്നു.In all, twelve cities were allotted to the clans of Merari, the remaining Levite clans.

41യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ അവകാശത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ലേവ്യർക്ക് എല്ലാംകൂടെ നാല്പത്തെട്ട് പട്ടണങ്ങളും അവയുടെ പുല്പുറങ്ങളും ലഭിച്ചു.For the Levites, then, there were forty-eight cities in all, together with their pasturelands, within the territory of the Israelites.

42ഈ പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ ഓരോന്നിനും ചുറ്റും പുല്പുറങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.Each of these cities had its own surrounding pasturelands; this was true for all the cities.

43യഹോവ യിസ്രായേലിന് താൻ അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർക്ക് കൊടുക്കുമെന്ന് സത്യംചെയ്ത ദേശമെല്ലാം കൊടുത്തു; അവർ അത് കൈവശമാക്കി അവിടെ പാർത്തു.Thus the LORD gave Israel all the land He had sworn to give their fathers, and they took possession of it and settled in it.

None of their enemies could stand against them, for the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand.

45യഹോവ യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹത്തിന് നൽകിയ വാഗ്ദാനങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നും വൃഥാവാകാതെ സകലവും നിവൃത്തിയായി.Not one of all the LORD’s good promises to the house of Israel had failed; everything was fulfilled.
