1ഞാൻ അവന്റെ കോപത്തിന്റെ വടികൊണ്ട് കഷ്ടത കണ്ട പുരുഷനാകുന്നു.I am the man who has seen affliction under the rod of God’s wrath.

2അവിടുന്ന് എന്നെ വെളിച്ചത്തിലല്ല, ഇരുട്ടിലത്രേ നടക്കുമാറാക്കിയത്.He has driven me away and made me walk in darkness instead of light.

3അതേ, അവിടുത്തെ കരം ഇടവിടാതെ എന്റെ നേരെ തിരിക്കുന്നു.Indeed, He keeps turning His hand against me all day long.

4എന്റെ മാംസവും ത്വക്കും അവിടുന്ന് ജീർണ്ണമാക്കി, എന്റെ അസ്ഥികളെ തകർത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.He has worn away my flesh and skin; He has shattered my bones.

5അവിടുന്ന് എന്നെ ആക്രമിച്ച്, കൈപ്പും പ്രയാസവും ചുറ്റുമതിലാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.He has besieged me and surrounded me with bitterness and hardship.

6പണ്ടേ മരിച്ചവനെപ്പോലെ അവിടുന്ന് എന്നെ ഇരുട്ടിൽ പാർപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നുHe has made me dwell in darkness like those dead for ages.

7പുറത്തു പോകുവാൻ കഴിയാതവണ്ണം അവിടുന്ന് എന്നെ വേലികെട്ടിയടച്ച് എന്റെ ചങ്ങലയെ ഭാരമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.He has walled me in so I cannot escape; He has weighed me down with chains.

8ഞാൻ കൂകി നിലവിളിച്ചാലും അവിടുന്ന് എന്റെ പ്രാർത്ഥന തടുത്തുകളയുന്നു.Even when I cry out and plead for help, He shuts out my prayer.

9വെട്ടുകല്ലുകൊണ്ട് അവിടുന്ന് എന്റെ വഴി അടച്ച്, എന്റെ പാതകളെ വളയുമാറാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.He has barred my ways with cut stones; He has made my paths crooked.

10അവിടുന്ന് എനിക്ക് പതിയിരിക്കുന്ന കരടിയെപ്പോലെയും മറഞ്ഞുനില്ക്കുന്ന സിംഹത്തെപ്പോലെയും ആകുന്നു.He is a bear lying in wait, a lion hiding in ambush.

11അവിടുന്ന് എന്റെ വഴികളെ തെറ്റിച്ച് എന്നെ കടിച്ചുകീറി ശൂന്യമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.He forced me off my path and tore me to pieces; He left me without help.

12അവിടുന്ന് വില്ലു കുലച്ച് എന്നെ അമ്പിന് ലക്ഷ്യമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.He bent His bow and set me as the target for His arrow.

13തന്റെ ആവനാഴിയിലെ അമ്പുകളെ അവിടുന്ന് എന്റെ അന്തരംഗങ്ങളിൽ തറപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.He pierced my kidneys with His arrows.

14ഞാൻ എന്റെ സർവ്വജനത്തിനും പരിഹാസവും ഇടവിടാതെ അവരുടെ പാട്ടും ആയിത്തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.I am a laughingstock to all my people; they mock me in song all day long.

15അവിടുന്ന് എന്നെ കൈപ്പുകൊണ്ട് നിറച്ച്, കാഞ്ഞിരംകൊണ്ട് മത്തുപിടിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.He has filled me with bitterness; He has intoxicated me with wormwood.

16അവിടുന്ന് കല്ലുകൊണ്ട് എന്റെ പല്ല് തകർത്ത്, എന്നെ വെണ്ണീരിൽ ഇട്ടുരുട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു.He has ground my teeth with gravel and trampled me in the dust.

17അങ്ങ് എന്റെ പ്രാണനിൽ നിന്ന് സമാധാനം നീക്കി; ഞാൻ സുഖം മറന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.My soul has been deprived of peace; I have forgotten what prosperity is.

18എന്റെ മഹത്വവും യഹോവയിലുള്ള എന്റെ പ്രത്യാശയും പൊയ്പ്പോയല്ലോ എന്ന് ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞു.So I say, “My strength has perished, along with my hope from the LORD.”

19അങ്ങ് എന്റെ കഷ്ടതയും അരിഷ്ടതയും കാഞ്ഞിരവും കൈപ്പും ഓർക്കേണമേ.Remember my affliction and wandering, the wormwood and the gall.

20എന്റെ പ്രാണൻ എന്റെ ഉള്ളിൽ എപ്പോഴും അവയെ ഓർത്ത് ഉരുകിയിരിക്കുന്നു.Surely my soul remembers and is humbled within me.

21ഇത് ഞാൻ ഓർക്കും; അതുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ പ്രത്യാശിക്കും.Yet I call this to mind, and therefore I have hope:

22നാം നശിച്ചുപോകാതിരിക്കുന്നത് യഹോവയുടെ ദയ ആകുന്നു; അവിടുത്തെ കരുണ തീർന്ന് പോയിട്ടില്ലല്ലോ;Because of the loving devotion of the LORD we are not consumed, for His mercies never fail.

23അത് രാവിലെതോറും പുതിയതും അവിടുത്തെ വിശ്വസ്തത വലിയതും ആകുന്നു.They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness!

24യഹോവ എന്റെ ഓഹരി എന്ന് എന്റെ ഉള്ളം പറയുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ അങ്ങയിൽ പ്രത്യാശവയ്ക്കുന്നു.“The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in Him.”

25തന്നെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നവർക്കും തന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവനും യഹോവ നല്ലവൻ.The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.

26യഹോവയുടെ രക്ഷയ്ക്കായി മിണ്ടാതെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നത് നല്ലത്.It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.

27ബാല്യത്തിൽ നുകം ചുമക്കുന്നത് ഒരു പുരുഷന് നല്ലത്.It is good for a man to bear the yoke while he is still young.

28അവിടുന്ന് അത് അവന്റെ മേൽ വച്ചിരിക്കുക കൊണ്ട് അവൻ ഏകനായി മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കട്ടെ.Let him sit alone in silence, for the LORD has laid it upon him.

29അവൻ തന്റെ മുഖം പൊടിയോളം താഴ്ത്തട്ടെ; പക്ഷെ പ്രത്യാശ ശേഷിക്കും.Let him bury his face in the dust—perhaps there is still hope.

30തന്നെ അടിക്കുന്നവന് അവൻ കവിൾ കാണിക്കട്ടെ; അവൻ വേണ്ടുവോളം നിന്ദ അനുഭവിക്കട്ടെ.Let him offer his cheek to the one who would strike him; let him be filled with reproach.

31കർത്താവ് എന്നേക്കും തള്ളിക്കളകയില്ലല്ലോ.For the Lord will not cast us off forever.

32അവിടുന്ന് ദുഃഖിപ്പിച്ചാലും തന്റെ മഹാദയയ്ക്ക് ഒത്തവണ്ണം അവിടുത്തേയ്ക്ക് കരുണ തോന്നും.Even if He causes grief, He will show compassion according to His abundant loving devotion.

33മനസ്സോടെയല്ലല്ലോ അവിടുന്ന് മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്മാരെ ദുഃഖിപ്പിച്ച് വ്യസനിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്.For He does not willingly afflict or grieve the sons of men.

34ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലബദ്ധന്മാരെയും കാല്കീഴിട്ട് മെതിക്കുന്നതുംTo crush underfoot all the prisoners of the land,

35അത്യുന്നതന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ മനുഷ്യന്റെ ന്യായം മറിച്ചുകളയുന്നതുംto deny a man justice before the Most High,

36അവന്റെ നീതി നിഷേധിക്കുന്നതും കർത്താവ് കാണുകയില്ലയോ?to subvert a man in his lawsuit—of these the Lord does not approve.

37കർത്താവ് കല്പിക്കാതെ ആര് പറഞ്ഞിട്ടാകുന്നു വല്ലതും സംഭവിക്കുന്നത്?Who has spoken and it came to pass, unless the Lord has ordained it?

38അത്യുന്നതന്റെ വായിൽനിന്ന് നന്മയും തിന്മയും പുറപ്പെടുന്നില്ലയോ?Do not both adversity and good come from the mouth of the Most High?

39ജീവനുള്ള മനുഷ്യൻ നെടുവീർപ്പിടുന്നതെന്ത്? ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ പാപങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് നെടുവീർപ്പിടട്ടെ.Why should any mortal man complain, in view of his sins?

40നാം നമ്മുടെ നടപ്പ് ആരാഞ്ഞ് ശോധന ചെയ്ത് യഹോവയുടെ അടുക്കലേയ്ക്ക് തിരിയുക.Let us examine and test our ways, and turn back to the LORD.

41നാം കൈകളെയും ഹൃദയത്തെയും സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ ദൈവത്തിങ്കലേയ്ക്ക് ഉയർത്തുക.Let us lift up our hearts and hands to God in heaven:

42ഞങ്ങൾ അതിക്രമം ചെയ്ത് മത്സരിച്ചു; അങ്ങ് ക്ഷമിച്ചതുമില്ല.“We have sinned and rebelled; You have not forgiven.”

43അങ്ങ് കോപം പുതച്ച് ഞങ്ങളെ പിന്തുടർന്ന്, കരുണ കൂടാതെ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.You have covered Yourself in anger and pursued us; You have killed without pity.

44ഞങ്ങളുടെ പ്രാർത്ഥന കടക്കാതവണ്ണം അങ്ങ് സ്വയം മേഘം കൊണ്ട് മറച്ചു.You have covered Yourself with a cloud that no prayer can pass through.

45അങ്ങ് ഞങ്ങളെ ജനതകളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ചവറും എച്ചിലും ആക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.You have made us scum and refuse among the nations.

46ഞങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുക്കളൊക്കെയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ നേരെ വായ് പിളർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.All our enemies open their mouths against us.

47പേടിയും കണിയും ശൂന്യവും നാശവും ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് ഭവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.Panic and pitfall have come upon us—devastation and destruction.

48എന്റെ ജനത്തിൻപുത്രിയുടെ നാശം നിമിത്തം എന്റെ കണ്ണിൽനിന്ന് ജലനദികൾ ഒഴുകുന്നു.Streams of tears flow from my eyes over the destruction of the daughter of my people.

49യഹോവ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്ന് നോക്കി കടാക്ഷിക്കുവോളംMy eyes overflow unceasingly, without relief,

50എന്റെ കണ്ണ് ഇടവിടാതെ ഒഴുകുന്നു; നിലയ്ക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.until the LORD looks down from heaven and sees.

51എന്റെ നഗരത്തിലെ സകലസ്ത്രീജനത്തെയും കുറിച്ച് ഞാൻ കാണുന്നത് എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ വ്യസനിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.My eyes bring grief to my soul because of all the daughters of my city.

52കാരണംകൂടാതെ എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളായവർ എന്നെ ഒരു പക്ഷിയെപ്പോലെ വേട്ടയാടിയിരിക്കുന്നു.Without cause my enemies hunted me like a bird.

53അവർ എന്റെ ജീവനെ കുഴിയിൽ ഇട്ട് നശിപ്പിച്ച്, എന്റെ മേൽ കല്ല് എറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.They dropped me alive into a pit and cast stones upon me.

54വെള്ളം എന്റെ തലയ്ക്കുമീതെ കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകി; ഞാൻ നശിച്ചുപോയി എന്ന് ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞു.The waters flowed over my head, and I thought I was going to die.

55യഹോവേ, ഞാൻ ആഴമുള്ള കുഴിയിൽ നിന്ന് അവിടുത്തെ നാമത്തെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.I called on Your name, O LORD, out of the depths of the Pit.

56‘എന്റെ നെടുവീർപ്പിനും എന്റെ നിലവിളിക്കും ചെവി പൊത്തിക്കളയരുതേ’ എന്ന എന്റെ പ്രാർത്ഥന അങ്ങ് കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.You heard my plea: “Do not ignore my cry for relief.”

57ഞാൻ അങ്ങയെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിച്ച നാളിൽ അങ്ങ് അടുത്തുവന്ന്: “ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.You drew near when I called on You; You said, “Do not be afraid.”

58കർത്താവേ, അങ്ങ് എന്റെ വ്യവഹാരം നടത്തി, എന്റെ ജീവനെ വീണ്ടെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.You defend my cause, O Lord; You redeem my life.

59യഹോവേ, ഞാൻ അനുഭവിച്ച അന്യായം അങ്ങ് കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ വ്യവഹാരം തീർത്ത് തരേണമേ.You have seen, O LORD, the wrong done to me; vindicate my cause!

60അവർ ചെയ്ത സകലപ്രതികാരവും എനിക്ക് വിരോധമായുള്ള അവരുടെ സകലനിരൂപണങ്ങളും അങ്ങ് കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.You have seen all their malice, all their plots against me.

61യഹോവേ, അവരുടെ നിന്ദയും എനിക്ക് വിരോധമായുള്ള അവരുടെ സകലനിരൂപണങ്ങളുംO LORD, You have heard their insults, all their plots against me—

62എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ വാക്കുകളും ഇടവിടാതെ എനിക്ക് വിരോധമായുള്ള ആലോചനകളും അങ്ങ് കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.the slander and murmuring of my assailants against me all day long.

63അവരുടെ ഇരിപ്പും എഴുന്നേല്പും നോക്കേണമേ; ഞാൻ അവരുടെ പാട്ടായിരിക്കുന്നു.When they sit and when they rise, see how they mock me in song.

64യഹോവേ, അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തിക്ക് തക്കവണ്ണം അവർക്ക് പകരം ചെയ്യേണമേ;You will pay them back what they deserve, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.

65അങ്ങ് അവർക്ക് ഹൃദയകാഠിന്യം വരുത്തും; അങ്ങയുടെ ശാപം അവർക്ക് വരട്ടെ.Put a veil of anguish over their hearts; may Your curse be upon them!

66അങ്ങ് അവരെ കോപത്തോടെ പിന്തുടർന്ന്, യഹോവയുടെ ആകാശത്തിൻ കീഴിൽനിന്ന് നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും.You will pursue them in anger and exterminate them from under Your heavens, O LORD.
