1 ULB യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തത്: “അഹരോന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരായ പുരോഹിതന്മാരോടു പറയേണ്ടതെന്തെന്നാൽ: ‘പുരോഹിതൻ തന്റെ ജനത്തിൽ ഒരുവന്റെ ശവത്താൽ തന്നെത്താൻ മലിനമാക്കരുത്. BSB BSB: Then the LORD said to Moses, “Speak to Aaron’s sons, the priests, and tell them that a priest is not to defile himself for a dead person among his people,

4 ULB പുരോഹിതൻ തന്റെ ജനത്തിൽ പ്രമാണിയായിരിക്കുകയാൽ തന്നെത്താൻ മലിനമാക്കി അശുദ്ധനാക്കരുത്. BSB BSB: He is not to defile himself for those related to him by marriage, and so profane himself.
5 ULB പുരോഹിതന്മാർ തലമുടി വടിക്കുകയും താടിയുടെ അറ്റം കത്രിക്കുകയും ശരീരത്തിൽ മുറിവുണ്ടാക്കുകയും അരുത്; BSB BSB: Priests must not make bald spots on their heads, shave off the edges of their beards, or make cuts in their bodies.
6 ULB തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നാമത്തെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കാതെ തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിനു വിശുദ്ധന്മാരായിരിക്കണം; അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഭോജനമായ യഹോവയുടെ ദഹനയാഗങ്ങൾ അർപ്പിക്കുന്നു; ആകയാൽ അവർ വിശുദ്ധന്മാരായിരിക്കണം. BSB BSB: They must be holy to their God and not profane the name of their God. Because they present to the LORD the food offerings, the food of their God, they must be holy.
7 ULB വേശ്യയെയോ ദുർന്നടപ്പുകാരത്തിയെയോ പുരോഹിതന്മാർ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കരുത്; ഭർത്താവ് ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചവളെയും വിവാഹം കഴിക്കരുത്; പുരോഹിതൻ തന്റെ ദൈവത്തിനു വിശുദ്ധൻ ആകുന്നു. BSB BSB: A priest must not marry a woman defiled by prostitution or divorced by her husband, for the priest is holy to his God.
8 ULB അതുകൊണ്ട് നീ അവനെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കണം; അവൻ നിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിനു ഭോജനം അർപ്പിക്കുന്നവനാകയാൽ നീ അവനെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കണം; അവൻ നിനക്കു വിശുദ്ധനായിരിക്കണം; നിങ്ങളെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്ന യഹോവയായ ഞാൻ വിശുദ്ധൻ ആകുന്നു. BSB BSB: You are to regard him as holy, since he presents the food of your God. He shall be holy to you, because I the LORD am holy—I who set you apart.
9 ULB പുരോഹിതന്റെ മകൾ ദുർന്നടപ്പു ചെയ്തു തന്നെത്താൻ അശുദ്ധയാക്കിയാൽ അവൾ തന്റെ അപ്പനെ അശുദ്ധനാക്കുന്നു; അവളെ തീയിൽ ഇട്ടു ചുട്ടുകളയണം. BSB BSB: If a priest’s daughter defiles herself by prostituting herself, she profanes her father; she must be burned in the fire.
10 ULB “‘അഭിഷേകതൈലം തലയിൽ ഒഴിക്കപ്പെട്ടവനും വസ്ത്രം ധരിക്കുവാൻ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിക്കപ്പെട്ടവനുമായി തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരിൽ മഹാപുരോഹിതനായവൻ തന്റെ തല നഗ്നമാക്കുകയോ വസ്ത്രം കീറുകയോ അരുത്. BSB BSB: The priest who is highest among his brothers, who has had the anointing oil poured on his head and has been ordained to wear the priestly garments, must not let his hair hang loose or tear his garments.
11 ULB അവൻ യാതൊരു ശവത്തോടും അടുക്കുകയും തന്റെ അപ്പനാലും അമ്മയാലും അശുദ്ധനാകുകയും അരുത്. BSB BSB: He must not go near any dead body; he must not defile himself, even for his father or mother.

BSB BSB: He must not leave or desecrate the sanctuary of his God, for the consecration of the anointing oil of his God is on him. I am the LORD.

14 ULB വിധവ, ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൾ, ദുർന്നടപ്പുകാരത്തി, വേശ്യ ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരെ അവൻ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കരുത്; സ്വജനത്തിലുള്ള കന്യകയെ മാത്രമേ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കാവു. BSB BSB: He is not to marry a widow, a divorced woman, or one defiled by prostitution. He is to marry a virgin from his own people,
15 ULB അവൻ തന്റെ സന്തതിയെ തന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയിൽ അശുദ്ധമാക്കരുത്; ഞാൻ അവനെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്ന യഹോവ ആകുന്നു.’” BSB BSB: so that he does not defile his offspring among his people, for I am the LORD who sanctifies him.”
16 ULB യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തത്: “നീ അഹരോനോടു പറയേണ്ടത് എന്തെന്നാൽ: BSB BSB: Then the LORD said to Moses,
17 ULB ‘നിന്റെ സന്തതിപരമ്പരയിൽ അംഗഹീനനായവൻ തന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഭോജനം അർപ്പിക്കുവാൻ അടുത്തു വരരുത്. BSB BSB: “Say to Aaron, ‘For the generations to come, none of your descendants who has a physical defect may approach to offer the food of his God.
18 ULB അംഗഹീനനായ യാതൊരുത്തനും അടുത്തുവരരുത്; കുരുടൻ, മുടന്തൻ, BSB BSB: No man who has any defect may approach—no man who is blind, lame, disfigured, or deformed;
19 ULB പതിമൂക്കൻ, അധികാംഗൻ, കാലൊടിഞ്ഞവൻ, കൈയൊടിഞ്ഞവൻ, BSB BSB: no man who has a broken foot or hand,
20 ULB കൂനൻ, മുണ്ടൻ, നേത്രരോഗി, ചൊറിയൻ, പൊരിച്ചുണങ്ങൻ, ഷണ്ഡൻ എന്നിങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരും അരുത്. BSB BSB: or who is a hunchback or dwarf, or who has an eye defect, a festering rash, scabs, or a crushed testicle.
21 ULB പുരോഹിതനായ അഹരോന്റെ സന്തതിയിൽ അംഗഹീനനായ ഒരുവനും യഹോവയുടെ ദഹനയാഗങ്ങൾ അർപ്പിക്കുവാൻ അടുത്തുവരരുത്; അവൻ അംഗഹീനൻ; അവൻ തന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഭോജനം അർപ്പിക്കുവാൻ അടുത്തുവരരുത്. BSB BSB: No descendant of Aaron the priest who has a defect shall approach to present the food offerings to the LORD. Since he has a defect, he is not to come near to offer the food of his God.
22 ULB തന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഭോജനമായ അതിപരിശുദ്ധമായവയും വിശുദ്ധമായവയും അവനു ഭക്ഷിക്കാം. BSB BSB: He may eat the most holy food of his God as well as the holy food,
23 ULB എങ്കിലും തിരശ്ശീലയുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെല്ലുകയും യാഗപീഠത്തിന്റെ അടുത്തുവരികയും അരുത്; അവൻ അംഗഹീനനല്ലോ; അവൻ എന്റെ വിശുദ്ധസാധനങ്ങളെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കരുത്; ഞാൻ അവരെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്ന യഹോവ ആകുന്നു.’” BSB BSB: but because he has a defect, he must not go near the veil or approach the altar, so as not to desecrate My sanctuaries. For I am the LORD who sanctifies them.’”
24 ULB മോശെ ഇത് അഹരോനോടും പുത്രന്മാരോടും എല്ലായിസ്രായേൽമക്കളോടും പറഞ്ഞു. BSB BSB: Moses told this to Aaron and his sons and to all the Israelites.
