2 ULB “ഞാൻ നിനക്ക് മുമ്പായി എന്റെ ദൂതനെ അയയ്ക്കുന്നു; അവൻ നിന്റെ വഴി ഒരുക്കും. BSB BSB: As it is written in Isaiah the prophet: “Behold, I will send My messenger ahead of You, who will prepare Your way.”

5 ULB അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ യെഹൂദ്യദേശം ഒക്കെയും യെരൂശലേമ്യർ എല്ലാവരും വന്നു തങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങളെ ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞ് യോർദ്ദാൻ നദിയിൽ അവനാൽ സ്നാനം ഏറ്റു. BSB BSB: People went out to him from all of Jerusalem and the countryside of Judea. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River.

7 ULB “എന്നിലും ബലമേറിയവൻ എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുന്നു; അവന്റെ ചെരിപ്പിന്റെ വാറ് കുനിഞ്ഞഴിക്കുവാൻ ഞാൻ യോഗ്യനല്ല. BSB BSB: And he proclaimed: “After me will come One more powerful than I, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie.
8 ULB ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ വെള്ളത്തിൽ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; അവനോ നിങ്ങളെ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിൽ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കും” എന്നു അവൻ പ്രസംഗിച്ചു. BSB BSB: I baptize you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”
9 ULB ആ കാലത്ത് യേശു ഗലീലയിലെ നസറെത്തിൽ നിന്നു വന്നു യോഹന്നാനാൽ യോർദ്ദാനിൽ സ്നാനം ഏറ്റു. BSB BSB: In those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
10 ULB വെള്ളത്തിൽ നിന്നു കയറിയ ഉടനെ ആകാശം പിളരുന്നതും ആത്മാവ് പ്രാവുപോലെ തന്റെമേൽ വരുന്നതും കണ്ട്. BSB BSB: As soon as Jesus came up out of the water, He saw the heavens breaking open and the Spirit descending on Him like a dove.

24 ULB “നസറായനായ യേശുവേ, ഞങ്ങൾക്കും നിനക്കും തമ്മിൽ എന്ത്? ഞങ്ങളെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ വന്നുവോ? നീ ആർ എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധൻ തന്നേ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. BSB BSB: “What do You want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!”
25 ULB യേശു അതിനെ ശാസിച്ചു: മിണ്ടരുത്; അവനെ വിട്ടുപോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. BSB BSB: But Jesus rebuked the spirit. “Be silent!” He said. “Come out of him!”
26 ULB അപ്പോൾ അശുദ്ധാത്മാവ് അവനെ തള്ളിയിട്ട് ഇഴച്ച്, ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചു അവനെ വിട്ടു പോയി. BSB BSB: At this, the unclean spirit threw the man into convulsions and came out with a loud shriek.
27 ULB എല്ലാവരും ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ട്: “ഇതെന്ത്? അധികാരത്തോടെയുള്ള ഒരു പുതിയ ഉപദേശം! അവൻ അശുദ്ധാത്മാക്കളോടുപോലും കല്പിക്കുന്നു; അവ അവനെ അനുസരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തമ്മിൽ വാദിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. BSB BSB: All the people were amazed and began to ask one another, “What is this? A new teaching with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him!”
28 ULB അവന്റെ ശ്രുതി വേഗത്തിൽ ഗലീല നാടെങ്ങും പരന്നു. BSB BSB: And the news about Jesus spread quickly through the whole region of Galilee.
30 ULB അവിടെ ശിമോന്റെ അമ്മാവിയമ്മ പനിപിടിച്ച് കിടന്നിരുന്നു; അവർ ഉടനെ അവളെക്കുറിച്ച് അവനോട് പറഞ്ഞു. BSB BSB: Simon’s mother-in-law was sick in bed with a fever, and they promptly told Jesus about her.

BSB BSB: And He healed many who were ill with various diseases and drove out many demons. But He would not allow the demons to speak, because they knew who He was.

38 ULB അവൻ അവരോട്: “ഞാൻ ചുറ്റുമുള്ള ഗ്രാമങ്ങളിലും പ്രസംഗിക്കേണ്ടതിന് നാം അവിടേക്ക് പോക; ഇതിനായിട്ടല്ലോ ഞാൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടു വന്നിരിക്കുന്നത്” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. BSB BSB: But Jesus answered, “Let us go on to the neighboring towns so I can preach there as well, for that is why I have come.”
39 ULB അങ്ങനെ അവൻ ഗലീലയിൽ ഒക്കെയും അവരുടെ പള്ളികളിൽ ചെന്ന് പ്രസംഗിക്കുകയും ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. BSB BSB: So He went throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.
41 ULB യേശു മനസ്സലിഞ്ഞ് കൈ നീട്ടി അവനെ തൊട്ടു: BSB BSB: Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out His hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” He said. “Be clean!”
42 ULB “മനസ്സുണ്ട്, ശുദ്ധമാക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഉടനെ കുഷ്ഠം അവനെ വിട്ടുമാറി അവന് ശുദ്ധിവന്നു. BSB BSB: And immediately the leprosy left him, and the man was cleansed.
43 ULB യേശു അവനെ കർശനമായി താക്കീത് ചെയ്തു: BSB BSB: Jesus promptly sent him away with a stern warning:
44 ULB “നോക്കൂ, ആരോടും ഒന്നും പറയരുത്; എന്നാൽ ചെന്ന് പുരോഹിതന് നിന്നെത്തന്നെ കാണിച്ചു, നിന്റെ ശുദ്ധീകരണത്തിന് വേണ്ടി മോശെ കല്പിച്ചത് അവർക്ക് സാക്ഷ്യത്തിനായി അർപ്പിക്ക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ വിട്ടയച്ചു. BSB BSB: “See that you don’t tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and present the offering Moses prescribed for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.”
45 ULB അവനോ പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഈ കാര്യം അനേകരോട് ഘോഷിക്കുവാനും വളരെ പ്രചരിപ്പിക്കുവാനും തുടങ്ങി; തന്മൂലം യേശുവിനു പരസ്യമായി പട്ടണത്തിൽ കടക്കുവാൻ കഴിയായ്കകൊണ്ട് അവൻ പുറത്തു നിർജ്ജനസ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ പാർത്തു; എല്ലായിടത്തു നിന്നും ആളുകൾ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു കൂടി. BSB BSB: But the man went out and openly began to proclaim and spread the news. Consequently, Jesus could no longer enter a town in plain view, but He stayed out in solitary places. Yet people came to Him from every quarter.
