BSB BSB: At that time all the people gathered together in the square before the Water Gate, and they asked Ezra the scribe to bring out the Book of the Law of Moses, which the LORD had commanded for Israel.
2 ULB ഏഴാം മാസം ഒന്നാം തിയ്യതി എസ്രാപുരോഹിതൻ പുരുഷന്മാരും സ്ത്രീകളുമായി കേട്ട് ഗ്രഹിപ്പാൻ പ്രാപ്തിയുള്ള സഭയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം കൊണ്ടുവന്നു, BSB BSB: On the first day of the seventh month, Ezra the priest brought the Law before the assembly of men and women and all who could listen and understand.

BSB BSB: So Ezra read it aloud from daybreak until noon as he faced the square before the Water Gate, in front of the men and women and those who could understand. And all the people listened attentively to the Book of the Law.

BSB BSB: Ezra the scribe stood on a high wooden platform built for this occasion. At his right side stood Mattithiah, Shema, Anaiah, Uriah, Hilkiah, and Maaseiah, and at his left were Pedaiah, Mishael, Malchijah, Hashum, Hash-baddanah, Zechariah, and Meshullam.
5 ULB എസ്രാ സകലജനവും കാൺകെ പുസ്തകം തുറന്നു; അവൻ സകലജനത്തിനും മീതെ ആയിരുന്നു; അത് തുറന്നപ്പോൾ ജനമെല്ലാം എഴുന്നേറ്റുനിന്നു. BSB BSB: Ezra opened the book in full view of all the people, since he was standing above them all, and as he opened it, all the people stood up.

BSB BSB: Then Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God, and with their hands uplifted, all the people said, “Amen, Amen!” Then they bowed down and worshiped the LORD with their faces to the ground.

BSB BSB: The Levites—Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, and Pelaiah—instructed the people in the Law as they stood in their places.
9 ULB ദേശാധിപതിയായ നെഹെമ്യാവും ശാസ്ത്രിയായ എസ്രാപുരോഹിതനും ജനത്തെ ഉപദേശിച്ചുപോന്ന ലേവ്യരും സകലജനത്തോടും: “ഈ ദിവസം നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയ്ക്ക് വിശുദ്ധമാകുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ ദുഃഖിക്കുകയോ കരയുകയോ ചെയ്യരുത്”എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു. ജനമെല്ലാം ന്യായപ്രമാണവാക്യങ്ങളെ കേട്ടപ്പോൾ കരയുകയായിരുന്നു. BSB BSB: Nehemiah the governor, Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who were instructing the people said to all of them, “This day is holy to the LORD your God. Do not mourn or weep.” For all the people were weeping as they heard the words of the Law.
10 ULB അനന്തരം അവർ അവരോട്: “നിങ്ങൾ ചെന്ന് നല്ല ഭക്ഷണവും മധുരപാനീയവും കഴിച്ച് തങ്ങൾക്കായി കരുതിയിട്ടില്ലാത്തവർക്കായി ഓഹരി കൊടുത്തയപ്പിൻ; ഈ ദിവസം നമ്മുടെ കർത്താവിന് വിശുദ്ധമാകുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ ദുഃഖിക്കരുത്; യഹോവയിങ്കലെ സന്തോഷം നിങ്ങളുടെ ബലം ആകുന്നുവല്ലോ”എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു. BSB BSB: Then Nehemiah told them, “Go and eat what is rich, drink what is sweet, and send out portions to those who have nothing prepared, since today is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”

12 ULB തങ്ങളോട് പറഞ്ഞ വചനം ബോദ്ധ്യമായതുകൊണ്ട് ജനമെല്ലാം പോയി തിന്നുകയും കുടിക്കയും ഓഹരി കൊടുത്തയക്കയും അത്യന്തം സന്തോഷിക്കയും ചെയ്തു. BSB BSB: Then all the people began to eat and drink, to send out portions, and to rejoice greatly, because they understood the words that had been made known to them.
13 ULB പിറ്റെന്നാൾ സകലജനത്തിന്റെയും പിതൃഭവനത്തലവന്മാരും പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ലേവ്യരും ന്യായപ്രമാണവാക്യങ്ങൾ കേൾക്കേണ്ടതിന് എസ്രാശാസ്ത്രിയുടെ അടുക്കൽ ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടി. BSB BSB: On the second day of the month, the heads of all the families, along with the priests and Levites, gathered around Ezra the scribe to study the words of the Law.
14 ULB യഹോവ മോശെമുഖാന്തരം കല്പിച്ച ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ: ‘യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ ഏഴാം മാസത്തിലെ ഉത്സവത്തിൽ കൂടാരങ്ങളിൽ പാർക്കണം എന്നും BSB BSB: And they found written in the Law, which the LORD had commanded through Moses, that the Israelites were to dwell in booths during the feast of the seventh month,
15 ULB എഴുതപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ കൂടാരങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കേണ്ടതിന് നിങ്ങൾ മലയിൽ ചെന്ന് ഒലിവുകൊമ്പ്, കാട്ടൊലിവുകൊമ്പ്, കൊഴുന്തുകൊമ്പ്, ഈന്തമടൽ, തഴച്ച വൃക്ഷങ്ങളുടെ കൊമ്പ് എന്നിവ കൊണ്ടുവരുവിൻ എന്ന് തങ്ങളുടെ എല്ലാ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലും യെരൂശലേമിലും അറിയിച്ച് പ്രസിദ്ധപ്പെടുത്തണം’എന്നും എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതായി അവർ കണ്ടു. BSB BSB: and that they should proclaim this message and spread it throughout their towns and in Jerusalem, saying, “Go out to the hill country and bring back branches of olive, wild olive, myrtle, palm, and other leafy trees, to make booths, as it is written.”
16 ULB അങ്ങനെ ജനം ചെന്ന് ഒരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ വീടിന്റെ മുകളിലും മുറ്റത്തും ദൈവാലയത്തിന്റെ പ്രാകാരങ്ങളിലും നീർവ്വാതിലിന്റെയും എഫ്രയീംവാതിലിന്റെയും വിശാലസ്ഥലത്തും കൂടാരങ്ങളുണ്ടാക്കി. BSB BSB: And the people went out, brought back branches, and made booths on their own rooftops, in their courtyards, in the courts of the house of God, and in the squares by the Water Gate and by the Gate of Ephraim.
17 ULB പ്രവാസത്തിൽ നിന്ന് മടങ്ങിവന്നവരുടെ സർവ്വസഭയും കൂടാരങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കി അതിൽ പാർത്തു; നൂന്റെ മകൻ യോശുവയുടെ കാലംമുതൽ അന്നുവരെ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് അന്ന് ഏറ്റവും വലിയ സന്തോഷം ഉണ്ടായി. BSB BSB: The whole assembly that had returned from exile made booths and lived in them. From the days of Joshua son of Nun until that day, the Israelites had not celebrated like this. And there was great rejoicing.

BSB BSB: Day after day, from the first day to the last, Ezra read from the Book of the Law of God. The Israelites kept the feast for seven days, and on the eighth day they held an assembly, according to the ordinance.
