1 ULB യഹോവ മോശെയോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തത്: BSB BSB: And the LORD said to Moses,
2 ULB “യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾക്ക് ഞാൻ കൊടുക്കുവാനിരിക്കുന്ന കനാൻദേശം ഒറ്റുനോക്കേണ്ടതിന്, ഓരോ ഗോത്രത്തിൽനിന്ന് പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരായ ഓരോ ആളെ വീതം അയക്കണം”. BSB BSB: “Send out for yourself men to spy out the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites. From each of their fathers’ tribes send one man who is a leader among them.”
3 ULB അങ്ങനെ മോശെ യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചപ്രകാരം പാരാൻമരുഭൂമിയിൽനിന്ന് അവരെ അയച്ചു; ആ പുരുഷന്മാർ ഒക്കെയും യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളിൽ തലവന്മാർ ആയിരുന്നു. BSB BSB: So at the command of the LORD, Moses sent them out from the Wilderness of Paran. All the men were leaders of the Israelites,
4 ULB അവരുടെ പേരുകൾ ഇവയാണ്: രൂബേൻ ഗോത്രത്തിൽ സക്കൂറിന്റെ മകൻ ശമ്മൂവ. BSB BSB: and these were their names: From the tribe of Reuben, Shammua son of Zaccur;

6 ULB യെഹൂദാഗോത്രത്തിൽ യെഫുന്നയുടെ മകൻ കാലേബ്. BSB BSB: from the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh;
7 ULB യിസ്സാഖാർഗോത്രത്തിൽ യോസേഫിന്റെ മകൻ ഈഗാൽ. BSB BSB: from the tribe of Issachar, Igal son of Joseph;
8 ULB എഫ്രയീംഗോത്രത്തിൽ നൂന്റെ മകൻ ഹോശേയ. BSB BSB: from the tribe of Ephraim, Hoshea son of Nun;
9 ULB ബെന്യാമീൻഗോത്രത്തിൽ രാഫൂവിന്റെ മകൻ പൽതി. BSB BSB: from the tribe of Benjamin, Palti son of Raphu;
10 ULB സെബൂലൂൻഗോത്രത്തിൽ സോദിയുടെ മകൻ ഗദ്ദീയേൽ BSB BSB: from the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel son of Sodi;
11 ULB യോസേഫിന്റെ ഗോത്രമായ മനശ്ശെഗോത്രത്തിൽ സൂസിയുടെ മകൻ ഗദ്ദി. BSB BSB: from the tribe of Manasseh (a tribe of Joseph), Gaddi son of Susi;
12 ULB ദാൻഗോത്രത്തിൽ ഗെമല്ലിയുടെ മകൻ അമ്മീയേൽ. BSB BSB: from the tribe of Dan, Ammiel son of Gemalli;
13 ULB ആശേർഗോത്രത്തിൽ മിഖായേലിന്റെ മകൻ സെഥൂർ. BSB BSB: from the tribe of Asher, Sethur son of Michael;
14 ULB നഫ്താലിഗോത്രത്തിൽ വൊപ്സിയുടെ മകൻ നഹ്ബി. BSB BSB: from the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi son of Vophsi;
15 ULB ഗാദ്ഗോത്രത്തിൽ മാഖിയുടെ മകൻ ഗയൂവേൽ. BSB BSB: and from the tribe of Gad, Geuel son of Machi.
16 ULB ദേശം ഒറ്റുനോക്കുവാൻ മോശെ അയച്ച പുരുഷന്മാരുടെ പേരുകൾ ഇവ തന്നേ. എന്നാൽ മോശെ നൂന്റെ മകനായ ഹോശേയയ്ക്ക് യോശുവ എന്ന് പേരിട്ടു. BSB BSB: These were the names of the men Moses sent to spy out the land; and Moses gave to Hoshea son of Nun the name Joshua.
17 ULB കനാൻദേശം ഒറ്റുനോക്കുവാൻ അയച്ചപ്പോൾ മോശെ അവരോട്:“നിങ്ങൾ ഈ വഴി തെക്കെ ദേശത്ത് ചെന്ന് മലയിൽ കയറുക; BSB BSB: When Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, he told them, “Go up through the Negev and into the hill country.
18 ULB ദേശം ഏതുവിധമുള്ളത് എന്നും, അതിൽ കുടിയിരിക്കുന്ന ജനം ബലവാന്മാരോ ബലഹീനരോ, ചുരുക്കമോ അധികമോ; BSB BSB: See what the land is like and whether its people are strong or weak, few or many.
19 ULB അവർ പാർക്കുന്ന ദേശം നല്ലതോ ആകാത്തതോ, അവർ വസിക്കുന്ന പട്ടണങ്ങൾ പാളയങ്ങളോ കോട്ടകളോ, BSB BSB: Is the land where they live good or bad? Are the cities where they dwell open camps or fortifications?

BSB BSB: Is the soil fertile or unproductive? Are there trees in it or not? Be courageous and bring back some of the fruit of the land.” (It was the season for the first ripe grapes.)
21 ULB അങ്ങനെ അവർ കയറിപ്പോയി, സീൻമരുഭൂമിമുതൽ ഹാമാത്തിനുപോകുന്ന വഴിയായി രഹോബ് വരെ ദേശത്തെ ഒറ്റുനോക്കി. BSB BSB: So they went up and spied out the land from the Wilderness of Zin as far as Rehob, toward Lebo-hamath.

BSB BSB: They went up through the Negev and came to Hebron, where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the descendants of Anak, dwelled. It had been built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.

24 ULB യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ അവിടെനിന്ന് മുറിച്ചെടുത്ത മുന്തിരിക്കുലനിമിത്തം ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന് എസ്കോൽതാഴ്വര എന്ന് പേരായി. BSB BSB: Because of the cluster of grapes the Israelites cut there, that place was called the Valley of Eshcol.
25 ULB അവർ നാല്പത് ദിവസംകൊണ്ട് ദേശം ഒറ്റുനോക്കിക്കഴിഞ്ഞ് മടങ്ങിവന്നു. BSB BSB: After forty days the men returned from spying out the land,

BSB BSB: And they gave this account to Moses: “We went into the land to which you sent us, and indeed, it is flowing with milk and honey. Here is some of its fruit!
28 ULB എങ്കിലും ദേശത്ത് പാർക്കുന്ന ജനങ്ങൾ ബലവാന്മാരും പട്ടണങ്ങൾ ഏറ്റവും ഉറപ്പും വലിപ്പവും ഉള്ളവയും ആകുന്നു. ഞങ്ങൾ അനാക്കിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെയും അവിടെ കണ്ടു. BSB BSB: Nevertheless, the people living in the land are strong, and the cities are large and fortified. We even saw the descendants of Anak there.
29 ULB അമാലേക്യർ തെക്കെ ദേശത്ത് പാർക്കുന്നു; ഹിത്യരും യെബൂസ്യരും അമോര്യരും പർവ്വതങ്ങളിൽ പാർക്കുന്നു; കനാന്യർ കടൽക്കരയിലും യോർദ്ദാൻനദീതീരത്തും പാർക്കുന്നു”. BSB BSB: The Amalekites live in the land of the Negev; the Hittites, Jebusites, and Amorites live in the hill country; and the Canaanites live by the sea and along the Jordan.”
30 ULB എന്നാൽ കാലേബ് മോശെയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ ജനത്തെ അമർത്തി: “നാം ചെന്ന് അത് കൈവശമാക്കുക; അത് ജയിക്കുവാൻ നമുക്കു കഴിയും”എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു. BSB BSB: Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said, “We must go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly conquer it!”

32 ULB തങ്ങൾ ഒറ്റുനോക്കിയ ദേശത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് അവർ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളോട് ദുർവ്വർത്തമാനം പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ: “ഞങ്ങൾ സഞ്ചരിച്ച് ഒറ്റുനോക്കിയ ദേശം നിവാസികളെ തിന്നുകളയുന്ന ദേശം ആകുന്നു; ഞങ്ങൾ അവിടെ കണ്ട ജനം ഒക്കെയും അതികായന്മാർ; BSB BSB: So they gave the Israelites a bad report about the land that they had spied out: “The land we explored devours its inhabitants, and all the people we saw there are great in stature.
33 ULB അവിടെ ഞങ്ങൾ മല്ലന്മാരുടെ സന്തതികളായ അനാക്യമല്ലന്മാരെയും കണ്ടു; ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് തന്നെ ഞങ്ങൾ വെട്ടുക്കിളികളെപ്പോലെ തോന്നി; അവരുടെ കാഴ്ചയ്ക്കും ഞങ്ങൾ അങ്ങനെതന്നെ ആയിരുന്നു. BSB BSB: We even saw the Nephilim there—the descendants of Anak that come from the Nephilim! We seemed like grasshoppers in our own sight, and we must have seemed the same to them!”
