1. 1ULBहिज्कीयाने परमेश्वरावर भरवंसा ठेवून केलेल्या सगळ्या गोष्टी प्रत्यक्षात उतरल्यावर अश्शूरचा राजा सन्हेरीब यहूदावर चाल करून आला. नगराच्या तटबंदी बाहेर त्याने आपल्या सैन्यासह तळ ठोकला. आतील नगरांचा पाडाव करून ती जिंकून घ्यायचा त्याने बेत केला.BSBBSB: After all these acts of faithfulness, Sennacherib king of Assyria came and invaded Judah. He laid siege to the fortified cities, intending to conquer them for himself.
2. 2ULBयरुशलेमेवर हल्ला करायला सन्हेरीब आला आहे हे हिज्कीयाला कळले.BSBBSB: When Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib had come to make war against Jerusalem,

5. 5ULBहिज्कीयाने पुढील उपाययोजनेने यरुशलेमची मजबुती वाढवली. तटबंदीची भिंत ज्याठिकाणी ढासळली होती तिथे बांधून काढली. भिंतीवर बुरुज बांधले. तटबंदी बाहेर दुसरा मजबूत कोट केला. दावीद नगरातील मिल्लो नावाच्या बूरूजाची मजबूती केली. शस्त्रे आणि ढाली आणखी करवून घेतल्या.BSBBSB: Then Hezekiah worked resolutely to rebuild all the broken sections of the wall and to raise up towers on it. He also built an outer wall and reinforced the supporting terraces of the City of David, and he produced an abundance of weapons and shields.

How then can your God deliver you from my hand?
15. 15ULBहिज्कीयाच्या बतावणीला बळी पडू नका व त्याच्यावर विश्वास ठेऊ नका. आमच्या पासून आपल्या प्रजेचे रक्षण करण्यात कोणत्याच राष्ट्राच्या दैवताला अद्यापि यश आलेले नाही. तेव्हा तुमचा संहार करण्याला तुमचे दैवत माझ्या हातून तुम्हास वाचवू शकेल असे समजू नका.BSBBSB: So now, do not let Hezekiah deceive you, and do not let him mislead you like this. Do not believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom has been able to deliver his people from my hand or from the hand of my fathers. How much less will your God deliver you from my hand!”
16. 16ULBअश्शूरच्या राजाच्या सेवकांनी परमेश्वर देवाची आणि देवाचा सेवक हिज्कीया याची निंदानालस्ती केली.BSBBSB: And the servants of Sennacherib spoke further against the LORD God and against His servant Hezekiah.
17. 17ULBसन्हेरीबनच्या दासांनी पत्रांमध्ये इस्राएलाचा देव परमेश्वर याविषयी अपमानकारक मजकूरही लिहिला. तो असा होता. “इतर देशांच्या दैवतांना मी केलेल्या संहारापासून आपल्या प्रजेला वाचवता आले नाही. तसेच हिज्कीयाचा देवही मला त्याच्या प्रजेचा नाश करण्यापासून थोपवू शकणार नाही.”BSBBSB: He also wrote letters mocking the LORD, the God of Israel, and saying against Him: “Just as the gods of the nations did not deliver their people from my hand, so the God of Hezekiah will not deliver His people from my hand.”
18. 18ULBमग अश्शूरच्या राजाच्या सेवकांनी तटबंदीवर उभ्या असलेल्या यरुशलेमेच्या लोकांस घाबरवण्यासाठी हिब्रू भाषेत मोठ्याने आरडाओरडा केला. असे करून यरुशलेम नगर ताब्यात घ्यायचा त्यांचा विचार होता.BSBBSB: Then the Assyrians called out loudly in Hebrew to the people of Jerusalem who were on the wall, to frighten and terrify them in order to capture the city.
19. 19ULBजगभरचे लोक ज्या दैवतांची पूजा करतात त्या दैवतांविषयी हे सेवक वाईटसाईट बोलत राहिले. हांतानी बनवीलेल्या मुर्तीच्या व यरुशलेमेच्या परमेश्वरासही या सेवकांनी त्या देवतांच्याच रांगेला बसवले.BSBBSB: They spoke against the God of Jerusalem as they had spoken against the gods of the peoples of the earth—the work of human hands.
20. 20ULBयामुळे राजा हिज्कीया आणि आमोजचा पुत्र यशया संदेष्टा यांनी या प्रश्नावर स्वर्गाकडे तोंड करून मोठ्याने प्रार्थना केली.BSBBSB: In response, King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz cried out to heaven in prayer,
21. 21ULBतेव्हा अश्शूरच्या राजाच्या छावणीवर परमेश्वराने आपला दूत पाठवला. या दूताने अश्शूरांचे सगळे सैन्य, त्यातील सरदार आणि अधिकारी यांना मारुन टाकले. एवढे झाल्यावर अश्शूरचा राजा माघार घेऊन आपल्या देशात परत गेला. त्याच्या प्रजेला त्याची शरम वाटली. राजा त्याच्या दैवताच्या देवळात गेला. तिथे त्याच्या पोटच्या पुत्रांना तलवारीने त्याने ठार केले.BSBBSB: and the LORD sent an angel who annihilated every mighty man of valor and every leader and commander in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he withdrew to his own land in disgrace. And when he entered the temple of his god, some of his own sons struck him down with the sword.
22. 22ULBअशाप्रकारे परमेश्वराने अश्शूरचा राजा सन्हेरीब आणि त्याचे सैन्य यांच्यापासून हिज्कीया आणि यरुशलेमचे लोक यांचे संरक्षण केले. परमेश्वरास हिज्कीयाची आणि यरुशलेमेच्या प्रजेची काळजी होती.BSBBSB: So the LORD saved Hezekiah and the people of Jerusalem from the hands of King Sennacherib of Assyria and all others, and He gave them rest on every side.
23. 23ULBबऱ्याच जणांनी परमेश्वरास वाहण्यास भेटवस्तू यरुशलेमेत आणल्या. यहूदाचा राजा हिज्कीया याच्यासाठी ही नजराणे आणले. या घटनेपासून सर्व राष्ट्रांना हिज्कीयाबद्दल आदर वाटू लागला.BSBBSB: Many brought offerings to Jerusalem for the LORD and valuable gifts for Hezekiah king of Judah, and from then on he was exalted in the eyes of all nations.
24. 24ULBया काळातच हिज्कीयाला आजारपणाने घेरले आणि तो मरणासन्न झाला. त्याने परमेश्वराची प्रार्थना केली. परमेश्वर त्याच्याशी बोलला याप्रकारे परमेश्वराने त्यास एक संकेत दिला.BSBBSB: In those days Hezekiah became mortally ill. So he prayed to the LORD, who spoke to him and gave him a sign.

Therefore wrath came upon him and upon Judah and Jerusalem.
26. 26ULBपरंतु यरुशलेमेचे लोक आणि हिज्कीया यांचे हृदयपरिवर्तन झाले आणि त्यांची वर्तणूक बदलली. त्यांच्यात नम्रता आली. त्यामुळे हिज्कीयाच्या हयातीत परमेश्वराचा रोष त्यांच्यावर ओढवला नाही.BSBBSB: Then Hezekiah humbled the pride of his heart—he and the people of Jerusalem—so that the wrath of the LORD did not come upon them during the days of Hezekiah.
27. 27ULBहिज्कीयाची भरभराट झाली, त्यास मान सन्मान मिळाला. चांदी, सोने, किंमती रत्ने, मसाल्याचे पदार्थ, ढाली इत्यादी नाना तऱ्हेच्या वस्तू ठेवण्यासाठी त्याने कोठारे केली.BSBBSB: Hezekiah had very great riches and honor, and he made treasuries for his silver, gold, precious stones, spices, shields, and all kinds of valuable articles.
28. 28ULBधान्य, नवीन मद्य, तेल या लोकांकडून आलेल्या गोष्टी ठेवायलाही कोठारे बांधली, गुरेढोरे आणि मेंढ्या आपल्या कळपासाठी कोंडवाडे बांधले.BSBBSB: He also made storehouses for the harvest of grain and new wine and oil, stalls for all kinds of livestock, and pens for the flocks.
29. 29ULBहिज्कीयाने नवीन नगरे वसवली. सर्व तऱ्हेचे पशू आणि मेंढरे यांचे कळप त्याच्याकडे होते. देव दयेने हिज्कीयाला समृध्दी आली.BSBBSB: He made cities for himself, and he acquired herds of sheep and cattle in abundance, for God gave him very great wealth.
30. 30ULBयाच हिज्कीयाने गीहोनचा यरुशलेमामधला वरचा प्रवाह अडवून त्यास दावीद नगराच्या पश्चिमेकडून सरळ खाली आणले होते. हिज्कीयाला त्याने हाती घेतलेल्या प्रत्येक कार्यात यश मिळाले.BSBBSB: It was Hezekiah who blocked the upper outlet of the Spring of Gihon and channeled it down to the west side of the City of David. And Hezekiah prospered in all that he did.
31. 31ULBएकदा देशात घडलेल्या चमत्कारांविषयी चौकशी करायला बाबेलच्या अधिपतींनी त्याच्याकडे राजदूत पाठवले. तेव्हा हिज्कीयाची पारख करावी आणि त्याचे मन जाणून घ्यावे म्हणून देवाने त्यास एकटे सोडले.BSBBSB: And so when ambassadors of the rulers of Babylon were sent to him to inquire about the wonder that had happened in the land, God left him alone to test him, that He might know all that was in Hezekiah’s heart.

All Judah and the people of Jerusalem paid him honor at his death. And his son Manasseh reigned in his place.
