On that day a great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria.

5फिलिप्प शोमरोन प्रांतातील एका शहरात गेला, त्याने ख्रिस्ताची घोषणा केली तेथील लोकांनी फिलिप्पाचे बोलणे ऐकले, व त्याने केलेले चमत्कार पाहिले.Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Christ to them.

6फिलिप्प जी चिन्हे करत असे व ज्या गोष्टी त्यांना सांगत असे, ते ती लक्षपूर्वक ऐकत असत.The crowds all paid close attention to Philip’s message and to the signs they saw him perform.

9शिमोन नावाचा मनुष्य त्या नगरात राहत होता, तो जादूचे प्रयोग करीत असे; त्याच्या प्रयोगामुळे शोमरोन प्रांतातील लोक आश्चर्यचकित होत असत, तो स्वतःला फार मोठा समजत असे.Prior to that time, a man named Simon had practiced sorcery in the city and astounded the people of Samaria. He claimed to be someone great,

10अगदी लहानापासून मोठ्यापर्यंत लोक लक्षपूर्वक त्याचे ऐकत, ते म्हणत असत, “देवाची महान शक्ती असे ज्याला म्हणतात तोच हा मनुष्य आहे.”and all the people, from the least to the greatest, heeded his words and said, “This man is the divine power called the Great Power.”

13स्वतः शिमोनाने विश्वास ठेवला: आणि त्याचा बाप्तिस्मा झाल्यावर, तो फिलिप्पबरोबर राहू लागला; आणि झालेले चमत्कार आणि अद्भूत चिन्हे पाहून, शिमोन आश्चर्याने थक्क झाला.Even Simon himself believed and was baptized. He followed Philip closely and was astounded by the great signs and miracles he observed.

16या लोकांचा प्रभू येशूच्या नावात बाप्तिस्मा झाला होता, परंतु पवित्र आत्मा अजून त्यांच्यावर आला नव्हता.For the Holy Spirit had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had simply been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.

17मग पेत्र व योहान यांनी त्यांच्या डोक्यावर हात ठेवला, आणि त्यांना पवित्र आत्मा मिळाला.Then Peter and John laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

18शिमोनाने पाहिले की, प्रेषितांच्या हात ठेवण्याने लोकांस पवित्र आत्मा मिळाला तेव्हा शिमोनाने प्रेषितांना पैसे देऊ करून म्हटले.When Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money.

19“मी ज्याच्यावर हात ठेवीन त्यास पवित्र आत्मा मिळेल, असा अधिकार मलासुद्धा द्या.”“Give me this power as well,” he said, “so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”

20पेत्र शिमोनाला म्हणाला, “तुझा व तुझ्या पैशाचा नाश होवो; कारण, देवाचे दान पैशाच्या बळावर विकत घेण्याचा तू विचार केला.”But Peter replied, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money!

21या कामात तू आमचा सहभागी होऊ शकणार नाहीस, कारण तुझे अंतःकरण देवासमोर योग्य नाही.You have no part or share in our ministry, because your heart is not right before God.

22तू ज्या या वाईट गोष्टी केल्या आहेत, त्यासाठी पश्चात्ताप कर, प्रभूला प्रार्थना कर, कदाचित तुइया अंतःकरणातील कल्पनेची तो तुला क्षमा करील.Repent, therefore, of your wickedness, and pray to the Lord. Perhaps He will forgive you for the intent of your heart.

23कारण तुझ्या मनात कटू मत्सर भरलेला आहे व तू पापाच्या बंधनात आहेस, हे मला दिसून आले आहे.For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and captive to iniquity.”

24शिमोनाने उत्तर दिले, तुम्ही सांगितले त्यातले काही माझ्यावर येऊ नये म्हणून तुम्हीच प्रभूकडे माझ्यासाठी प्रार्थना करा.Then Simon answered, “Pray to the Lord for me, so that nothing you have said may happen to me.”

He had gone to Jerusalem to worship,

34तो अधिकारी फिलिप्पाला म्हणाला, “कृपाकरून मला सांगा, हे कोणाविषयी बोलतो आहे? तो स्वतःविषयी बोलत आहे, की दुसऱ्या कोणाविषयी बोलत आहे?”“Tell me,” said the eunuch, “who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?”

35मग फिलिप्पाने तोंड उघडले; व शास्त्रलेखातील यशया संदेष्ट्याच्या भागापासून सुरुवात करून येशूविषयीची सुवार्ता त्यास सांगितली.Then Philip began with this very Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.
