1जर माझे मस्तक पाण्याने भरलेले असते आणि माझे डोळे अश्रूंचे झरे असते तर मी माझ्या नाश पावलेल्या लोकांच्या कन्येसाठी अहोरात्र रडलो असतो तर किती बरे झाले असते.Oh, that my head were a spring of water, and my eyes a fountain of tears! I would weep day and night over the slain daughter of my people.

18त्यांनी घाईने आमच्यासाठी विलाप करवा. म्हणजे आमचे डोळे भरुन येतील आणि अश्रूंचा पूर येईल.Let them come quickly and take up a lament over us, that our eyes may overflow with tears, and our eyelids may gush with water.

How great is our shame! For we have abandoned the land because our dwellings have been torn down.’”
