BSB BSB: So Adoni-zedek and his people were greatly alarmed, because Gibeon was a great city, like one of the royal cities; it was larger than Ai, and all its men were mighty.
3 ULB मग यरुशलेमेचा राजा अदोनीसदेक याने हेब्रोनाचा राजा होहाम, यर्मूथाचा राजा पिराम, लाखीशाचा राजा याफीय आणि एग्लोनाचा राजा दबीर यांना निरोप पाठवला, BSB BSB: Therefore Adoni-zedek king of Jerusalem sent word to Hoham king of Hebron, Piram king of Jarmuth, Japhia king of Lachish, and Debir king of Eglon, saying,
4 ULB “वर माझ्याकडे येऊन मला मदत करा, आपण गिबोनाला मार देऊ; कारण त्याने यहोशवाशी व इस्राएल लोकांशी समेट केला आहे.” BSB BSB: “Come up and help me. We will attack Gibeon, because they have made peace with Joshua and the Israelites.”
5 ULB तेव्हा यरुशलेमेचा राजा, हेब्रोनाचा राजा, यर्मूथाचा राजा, लाखीशाचा राजा आणि एग्लोनाचा राजा या पाच अमोरी राजांनी एकत्र मिळून आपल्या सर्व सैन्यांसह चढाई केली आणि गिबोनासमोर तळ देऊन ते त्यांच्याशी लढू लागले. BSB BSB: So the five kings of the Amorites—the kings of Jerusalem, Hebron, Jarmuth, Lachish, and Eglon—joined forces and advanced with all their armies. They camped before Gibeon and made war against it.
7 ULB तेव्हा यहोशवा आपले सर्व योद्धे व शूर वीर यांना बरोबर घेऊन गिलगाल येथून निघाला.” BSB BSB: So Joshua and his whole army, including all the mighty men of valor, came from Gilgal.
8 ULB परमेश्वर यहोशवाला म्हणाला, “त्यांना भिऊ नको; कारण मी त्यांना तुझ्या हाती दिले आहे; त्यांच्यातला कोणीही तुझ्यापुढे टिकणार नाही.” BSB BSB: The LORD said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them, for I have delivered them into your hand. Not one of them shall stand against you.”
9 ULB यहोशवा गिलगालाहून सारी रात्र चालत चढून जाऊन त्यांच्यावर एकाएकी चाल करून आला BSB BSB: After marching all night from Gilgal, Joshua caught them by surprise.
10 ULB आणि परमेश्वर देवाने इस्राएलापुढे शत्रूंत गोंधळ उडवला. त्यांनी गिबोनापाशी त्यांची मोठी कत्तल करून बेथ-होरोनाच्या चढावाच्या वाटेने त्यांचा पाठलाग केला आणि अजेका व मक्केदा येथपर्यंत ते त्यांना मारत गेले. BSB BSB: And the LORD threw them into confusion before Israel, who defeated them in a great slaughter at Gibeon, pursued them along the ascent to Beth-horon, and struck them down as far as Azekah and Makkedah.
13 ULB तेव्हा राष्ट्राने आपल्या शत्रूंचा बदला घेईपर्यंत सूर्य स्थिर झाला आणि चंद्र थांबला. याशाराच्या ग्रंथात ही कथा लिहिली आहे ना? सूर्य आकाशाच्या मधोमध सुमारे एक संपूर्ण दिवस थांबला; त्याने अस्तास जाण्याची घाई केली नाही. BSB BSB: So the sun stood still and the moon stopped until the nation took vengeance upon its enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jashar? “So the sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day.”

15 ULB मग यहोशवा सर्व इस्राएलासह गिलगाल येथील छावणीकडे परत आला. BSB BSB: Then Joshua returned with all Israel to the camp at Gilgal.
16 ULB ते पाच राजे पळून जाऊन मक्केदा येथील एका गुहेत लपून बसले. BSB BSB: Now the five kings had fled and hidden in the cave at Makkedah.
17 ULB मक्केदा येथील गुहेत ते पाच राजे लपलेले सापडले आहेत असे यहोशवाला कोणी कळवले. BSB BSB: And Joshua was informed: “The five kings have been found; they are hiding in the cave at Makkedah.”
18 ULB तेव्हा यहोशवा म्हणाला, गुहेच्या तोंडावर मोठमोठे धोंडे लोटा आणि तिच्यावर मनुष्यांचा पहारा बसवा. BSB BSB: So Joshua said, “Roll large stones against the mouth of the cave, and post men there to guard them.
19 ULB पण तुम्ही स्वतः तेथे थांबू नका; आपल्या शत्रूंचा पाठलाग करा; त्यांच्या पिछाडीच्या लोकांस ठार मारा; त्यांना त्यांच्या नगरांत जाऊ देऊ नका; कारण तुमचा देव परमेश्वर याने त्यांना तुमच्या हाती दिले आहे. BSB BSB: But you, do not stop there. Pursue your enemies and attack them from behind. Do not let them reach their cities, for the LORD your God has delivered them into your hand.”
20 ULB यहोशवा आणि इस्राएल लोक यांनी त्यांची मोठी कत्तल करून त्यांचा नाश करण्याचे काम संपवले; पण त्यांच्यातले काही लोक बचावून तटबंदीच्या नगरांत गेले. BSB BSB: So Joshua and the Israelites continued to inflict a terrible slaughter until they had finished them off, and the remaining survivors retreated to the fortified cities.
21 ULB मग सर्व सैन्य मक्केदाच्या छावणीत यहोशवाकडे शांतीने माघारी आले; इस्राएलाविरुद्ध कोणी चकार शब्द काढण्याचे धाडस केले नाही. BSB BSB: The whole army returned safely to Joshua in the camp at Makkedah, and no one dared to utter a word against the Israelites.
22 ULB मग यहोशवा म्हणाला, “गुहेचे तोंड उघडून त्या पाच राजांना तेथून माझ्याकडे घेऊन या.” BSB BSB: Then Joshua said, “Open the mouth of the cave and bring those five kings out to me.”
23 ULB त्याप्रमाणे त्यांनी केले, म्हणजे यरुशलेमेचा राजा, हेब्रोनाचा राजा, यर्मूथाचा राजा, लाखीशाचा राजा आणि एग्लोनाचा राजा या पाच राजांना त्यांनी गुहेतून काढून त्याच्याकडे आणले. BSB BSB: So they brought the five kings out of the cave—the kings of Jerusalem, Hebron, Jarmuth, Lachish, and Eglon.
24 ULB ते त्या राजांना यहोशवाकडे घेऊन आले तेव्हा त्याने सर्व इस्राएल लोकांस बोलावून आणले. मग तो आपल्याबरोबर लढाईवर गेलेल्या योद्ध्यांच्या सेनानायकांना म्हणाला, “पुढे येऊन त्यांच्या मानेवर पाय द्या.” तेव्हा त्यांनी पुढे येऊन त्यांच्या मानेवर पाय दिले. BSB BSB: When they had brought the kings to Joshua, he summoned all the men of Israel and said to the army commanders who had accompanied him, “Come here and put your feet on the necks of these kings.” So the commanders came forward and put their feet on their necks.
25 ULB यहोशवा त्यांना म्हणाला, “भिऊ नका, कचरू नका, बलवान व निर्भय व्हा; कारण ज्यांच्याशी तुम्ही लढाल त्या तुमच्या सर्व शत्रूचे परमेश्वर असेच करील.” BSB BSB: “Do not be afraid or discouraged,” Joshua said. “Be strong and courageous, for the LORD will do this to all the enemies you fight.”
26 ULB नंतर यहोशवाने त्यांना ठार मारून पाच झाडांवर त्यांना टांगले, आणि ते संध्याकाळपर्यंत त्या झाडांवर टांगलेले होते. BSB BSB: After this, Joshua struck down and killed the kings, and he hung their bodies on five trees and left them there until evening.

Then large stones were placed against the mouth of the cave, and the stones are there to this day.

BSB BSB: On that day Joshua captured Makkedah and put it to the sword, along with its king. He devoted to destruction everyone in the city, leaving no survivors. So he did to the king of Makkedah as he had done to the king of Jericho.
29 ULB मग मक्केदाहून निघून सर्व इस्राएलांना बरोबर घेऊन यहोशवा लीब्नावर चालून गेला व लिब्नाच्याविरुद्ध त्यांनी लढाई केली; BSB BSB: Then Joshua and all Israel with him moved on from Makkedah to Libnah and fought against Libnah.
30 ULB परमेश्वराने ते नगर व त्याचा राजा यांना इस्राएलाच्या हाती दिले आणि यहोशवाने त्याचा व त्यातल्या सर्व जिवंत प्राण्यांचा तलवारीने संहार केला; त्यांच्यातल्या कोणालाही जिवंत ठेवले नाही; यरीहोच्या राजाचे त्याने जे केले तेच येथल्याही राजाचे केले. BSB BSB: And the LORD also delivered that city and its king into the hand of Israel, and Joshua put all the people to the sword, leaving no survivors. And he did to the king of Libnah as he had done to the king of Jericho.
31 ULB त्यानंतर लिब्ना सोडून सर्व इस्राएलासह यहोशवा लाखीशावर चालून गेला. त्याने त्यासमोर तळ दिला आणि त्याच्याविरुध्द लढला. BSB BSB: And Joshua and all Israel with him moved on from Libnah to Lachish. They laid siege to it and fought against it.
32 ULB परमेश्वराने लाखीश इस्राएलाच्या हाती दिले व त्यांनी ते दुसऱ्या दिवशी घेतले, लिब्नाचा केला तसाच लाखीशाचा व तेथल्या प्रत्येक जिवंत प्राण्याचा त्याने तलवारीने नाश केला. BSB BSB: And the LORD delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel, and Joshua captured it on the second day. He put all the people to the sword, just as he had done to Libnah.
33 ULB तेव्हा गेजेराचा राजा होरम लाखीशाला मदत देण्यासाठी चालून आला, पण यहोशवाने त्यास व त्याच्या लोकांस एवढा मार दिला की त्यातला एकही जिवंत राहिला नाही. BSB BSB: At that time Horam king of Gezer went to help Lachish, but Joshua struck him down along with his people, leaving no survivors.
34 ULB मग लाखीश सोडून यहोशवा सर्व इस्राएलासह एग्लोनावर चालून गेला; त्यासमोर तळ देऊन ते त्याच्याशी लढले. BSB BSB: So Joshua moved on from Lachish to Eglon, and all Israel with him. They laid siege to it and fought against it.
35 ULB त्याच दिवशी त्यांनी ते घेतले आणि तलवारीने त्यांचा संहार केला; लाखीशातल्याप्रमाणे तेथील प्रत्येक जिवंत प्राण्यांचा त्या दिवशी त्याने समूळ नाश केला. BSB BSB: That day they captured Eglon and put it to the sword, and Joshua devoted to destruction everyone in the city, just as he had done to Lachish.
36 ULB मग एग्लोन सोडून यहोशवा सर्व इस्राएलासह हेब्रोनावर चढाई करून गेला. आणि ते त्याच्याशी लढले; BSB BSB: Then Joshua and all Israel with him went up from Eglon to Hebron and fought against it.
37 ULB त्यांनी ते घेतले आणि ते नगर, त्याचा राजा, त्याची सर्व उपनगरे आणि त्यातले सर्व प्राणी यांचा तलवारीने संहार केला; यहोशवाने एग्लोनातल्याप्रमाणेच येथेही कोणाला जिवंत राहू दिले नाही. त्याने त्याचा आणि त्यातल्या प्रत्येक जिवंत प्राण्यांचा समूळ नाश केला. BSB BSB: They captured it and put to the sword its king, all its villages, and all the people. Joshua left no survivors, just as he had done at Eglon; he devoted to destruction Hebron and everyone in it.
38 ULB नंतर यहोशवा सर्व इस्राएलासह मागे वळून दबीरास चालून गेला आणि त्याच्याविरुध्द लढला. BSB BSB: Finally Joshua and all Israel with him turned toward Debir and fought against it.
39 ULB त्याने ते तेथला राजा व त्याची सर्व नगरे हस्तगत करून त्यांचा तलवारीने संहार केला. तेथील प्रत्येक जिवंत प्राण्यांचा त्याने समूळ नाश केला. कोणालाही जिवंत राहू दिले नाही हेब्रोनाचे, लिब्ना व त्याचा राजा यांचे त्याने जे केले तेच दबीर व त्याचा राजा यांचेही केले. BSB BSB: And they captured Debir, its king, and all its villages. They put them to the sword and devoted to destruction everyone in the city, leaving no survivors. Joshua did to Debir and its king as he had done to Hebron and as he had done to Libnah and its king.
40 ULB या प्रकारे यहोशवाने त्या सर्व देशांचा म्हणजे डोंगराळ प्रदेश, नेगेब, तळवट व उतरण यातील सर्व प्रांत आणि त्यांचे राजे यांना काबीज केले; कोणालाही जिवंत राहू दिले नाही; इस्राएलाचा देव परमेश्वर याने आज्ञा केल्याप्रमाणे प्रत्येक जिवंत गोष्टीचा त्याने समूळ नाश केला. BSB BSB: So Joshua conquered the whole region—the hill country, the Negev, the foothills, and the slopes, together with all their kings—leaving no survivors. He devoted to destruction everything that breathed, just as the LORD, the God of Israel, had commanded.
41 ULB यहोशवाने तलवारीने हल्ला करून कादेश-बर्ण्यापासून गज्जापर्यंतचा मुलूख व गिबोनापर्यंतचा सर्व गोशेन प्रांत त्याने मारला. BSB BSB: Joshua conquered the area from Kadesh-barnea to Gaza, and the whole region of Goshen as far as Gibeon.
42 ULB हे सर्व राजे व त्यांचे देश यहोशवाने एकाच वेळेस घेतले, कारण इस्राएलाचा देव परमेश्वर इस्राएलासाठी लढत होता. BSB BSB: And because the LORD, the God of Israel, fought for Israel, Joshua captured all these kings and their land in one campaign.
43 ULB मग यहोशवा आणि त्याच्याबरोबर सर्व इस्राएल गिलगाल येथील छावणीकडे माघारी आले. BSB BSB: Then Joshua returned with all Israel to the camp at Gilgal.
