8 ULB मी तुमचा बाप्तिस्मा पाण्याने करतो पण तो तुमचा बाप्तिस्मा पवित्र आत्म्याने करील.” BSB BSB: I baptize you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”
9 ULB त्यादिवसात असे झाले की, येशू गालील प्रांतातील नासरेथ नगराहून आला आणि योहानाच्या हातून यार्देन नदीत येशूने बाप्तिस्मा घेतला. BSB BSB: In those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.

13 ULB सैतान त्याची परीक्षा पाहत असता तो अरण्यांत चाळीस दिवस राहीला. तो वनपशूंमध्ये होता. आणि देवदूत येऊन त्याची सेवा करीत होते. BSB BSB: and He was there for forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and the angels ministered to Him.
15 ULB तो म्हणाला, “आता योग्य वेळ आली आहे, देवाचे राज्य जवळ आले आहे, पश्चात्ताप करा आणि सुवार्तेवर विश्वास ठेवा.” BSB BSB: “The time is fulfilled,” He said, “and the kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe in the gospel!”
16 ULB येशू गालीलच्या सरोवराजवळून जात असता त्यास शिमोन व शिमोनाचा भाऊ अंद्रिया हे सरोवरात जाळे टाकताना दिसले, कारण ते मासे धरणारे होते. BSB BSB: As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.
17 ULB येशू त्यांना म्हणाला, “माझ्यामागे या म्हणजे मी तुम्हास माणसे धरणारे करीन.” BSB BSB: “Come, follow Me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.”

20 ULB त्याने लगेच त्यांना हाक मारून बोलावले; मग ते त्यांचा पिता जब्दी व नोकरचाकर यांना तारवात सोडून त्याच्यामागे गेले. BSB BSB: Immediately Jesus called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed Him.
22 ULB त्याच्या शिकवणुकीने ते चकित झाले, कारण येशू नियमशास्त्राच्या शिक्षकांप्रमाणे शिकवीत नव्हता, तर त्यास अधिकार असल्यासारखा शिकवीत होता. BSB BSB: The people were astonished at His teaching, because He taught as one who had authority, and not as the scribes.
23 ULB त्याचवेळी त्यांच्या सभास्थानात अशुद्ध आत्मा लागलेला एक मनुष्य होता, तो एकदम मोठ्याने ओरडला, BSB BSB: Suddenly a man with an unclean spirit cried out in the synagogue:
24 ULB आणि म्हणाला, “नासरेथच्या येशू, तू आमच्यामध्ये का पडतोस? तू आमचा नाश करावयास आला आहेस काय? तू कोण आहेस हे मला माहीत आहे, जो देवाचा पवित्र तो तूच.” BSB BSB: “What do You want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!”
25 ULB परंतु येशूने त्यास धमकावून म्हटले, “शांत राहा व याच्यातून नीघ.” BSB BSB: But Jesus rebuked the spirit. “Be silent!” He said. “Come out of him!”
26 ULB “नंतर अशुद्ध आत्म्याने त्यास पिळले व तो मोठ्याने ओरडून त्याच्यातून बाहेर निघून गेला.” BSB BSB: At this, the unclean spirit threw the man into convulsions and came out with a loud shriek.
27 ULB लोक आश्चर्यचकित झाले व एकमेकांस विचारू लागले, “येथे काय चालले आहे? हा मनुष्य काहीतरी नवीन आणि अधिकाराने शिकवीत आहे. तो अशुद्ध आत्म्यांनाही आज्ञा करतो आणि ते त्याचे ऐकतात!” BSB BSB: All the people were amazed and began to ask one another, “What is this? A new teaching with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him!”
28 ULB येशूविषयीची ही बातमी ताबडतोब गालील प्रांतात सर्वत्र पसरली. BSB BSB: And the news about Jesus spread quickly through the whole region of Galilee.
30 ULB शिमोनाची सासू तापाने बिछान्यावर पडली होती. तेव्हा त्यांनी ताबडतोब येशूला तिच्याविषयी सांगितले. BSB BSB: Simon’s mother-in-law was sick in bed with a fever, and they promptly told Jesus about her.
31 ULB तेव्हा त्याने जवळ जाऊन तिच्या हाताला धरून तिला उठवले आणि तिचा ताप निघून गेला व ती त्यांची सेवा करू लागली. BSB BSB: So He went to her, took her by the hand, and helped her up. The fever left her, and she began to serve them.
33 ULB सर्व नगर दरवाजापुढे जमा झाले. BSB BSB: and the whole town gathered at the door.
34 ULB त्याने निरनिराळ्या रोगांनी आजारी असलेल्यांना बरे केले व अनेक लोकांतून भूते काढली. पण त्याने भूतांना बोलू दिले नाही कारण ती त्यास ओळखत होती. BSB BSB: And He healed many who were ill with various diseases and drove out many demons. But He would not allow the demons to speak, because they knew who He was.
35 ULB मग त्याने अगदी पहाटेस अंधार असतानाच घर सोडले आणि एकांत स्थळी जाऊन तेथे त्याने प्रार्थना केली. BSB BSB: Early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up and went out to a solitary place to pray.
36 ULB शिमोन व त्याच्यासोबत असलेले येशूचा शोध करीत होते, BSB BSB: Simon and his companions went to look for Him,
37 ULB व तो सापडल्यावर ते त्यास म्हणाले, गुरूजी “आम्ही सर्वजण तुमचा शोध करीत आहोत.” BSB BSB: and when they found Him, they said, “Everyone is looking for You!”
38 ULB तेव्हा येशू त्यांना म्हणाला, “आपण जवळपासच्या गावात जाऊ या, म्हणजे मला तेथे देखील उपदेश करता यावा म्हणून आपण दुसरीकडे जाऊ कारण त्यासाठीच मी निघून आलो आहे.” BSB BSB: But Jesus answered, “Let us go on to the neighboring towns so I can preach there as well, for that is why I have come.”
39 ULB मग तो सर्व गालील प्रांतातून, त्यांच्या सभास्थानातून उपदेश करीत आणि भूते काढीत फिरला. BSB BSB: So He went throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.
41 ULB येशूला त्याचा कळवळा आला, त्याने हात पुढे करून त्यास स्पर्श केला व म्हटले, “माझी इच्छा आहे, शुद्ध हो.” BSB BSB: Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out His hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” He said. “Be clean!”
42 ULB आणि लगेच त्याचे कुष्ठ गेले व तो शुद्ध झाला. BSB BSB: And immediately the leprosy left him, and the man was cleansed.
43 ULB येशूने त्यास सक्त ताकीद दिली व लगेच लावून दिले. BSB BSB: Jesus promptly sent him away with a stern warning:
44 ULB आणि म्हणले “पाहा, याविषयी कोणाला काहीही सांगू नकोस, तर जाऊन स्वतःला याजकाला दाखव आणि त्यांना साक्ष व्हावी म्हणून तू आपल्या शुद्धीकरता मोशेने नेमलेले अर्पण कर.” BSB BSB: “See that you don’t tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and present the offering Moses prescribed for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.”
45 ULB परंतु तो तेथून गेला व घोषणा करून ही बातमी इतकी पसरवली की येशूला उघडपणे शहरात जाता येईना, म्हणून तो बाहेर अरण्यातच राहिला आणि तरी चोहोबाजूंनी लोक त्याच्याकडे येत राहण्याचे थांबले नाही. BSB BSB: But the man went out and openly began to proclaim and spread the news. Consequently, Jesus could no longer enter a town in plain view, but He stayed out in solitary places. Yet people came to Him from every quarter.
