When morning came, all the chief priests and elders of the people conspired against Jesus to put Him to death.
2. 2N30og de bandt ham og førte ham bort og overgav ham til landshøvdingen Pilatus.BSBBSB: They bound Him, led Him away, and handed Him over to Pilate the governor.
When Judas, who had betrayed Him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was filled with remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders.
Se du dertil!BSBBSB: “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood,” he said. “What is that to us?” they replied. “You bear the responsibility.”
So Judas threw the silver into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself.
The chief priests picked up the pieces of silver and said, “It is unlawful to put this into the treasury, since it is blood money.”
7. 7N30Og de holdt råd med hverandre, og kjøpte for pengene pottemakerens aker til gravsted for fremmede.BSBBSB: After conferring together, they used the money to buy the potter’s field as a burial place for foreigners.
8. 8N30Derfor heter denne aker Blodakeren den dag idag.BSBBSB: That is why it has been called the Field of Blood to this day.
Then what was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled: “They took the thirty pieces of silver, the price set on Him by the people of Israel,
10. 10N30og de gav dem for pottemakerens aker, således som Herren bød mig.BSBBSB: and they gave them for the potter’s field, as the Lord had commanded me.”
11. 11N30Men Jesus blev stilt frem for landshøvdingen. Og landshøvdingen spurte ham: Er du jødenes konge? Jesus sa til ham: Du sier det.BSBBSB: Meanwhile Jesus stood before the governor, who questioned Him: “Are You the King of the Jews?” “You have said so,” Jesus replied.
And when He was accused by the chief priests and elders, He gave no answer.
Then Pilate asked Him, “Do You not hear how many charges they are bringing against You?”
But Jesus gave no answer, not even to a single charge, much to the governor’s amazement.
15. 15N30Men på høitiden pleide landshøvdingen å gi folket en fange fri, hvem de vilde.BSBBSB: Now it was the governor’s custom at the feast to release to the crowd a prisoner of their choosing.
16. 16N30Nu hadde de dengang en vel kjent fange, som hette Barabbas.BSBBSB: At that time they were holding a notorious prisoner named Barabbas.
So when the crowd had assembled, Pilate asked them, “Which one do you want me to release to you: Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?”
For he knew it was out of envy that they had handed Jesus over to him.
While Pilate was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent him this message: “Have nothing to do with that innocent man, for I have suffered terribly in a dream today because of Him.”
20. 20N30Men yppersteprestene og de eldste overtalte folket til å be om å få Barabbas fri, og Jesus avlivet.BSBBSB: But the chief priests and elders persuaded the crowds to ask for Barabbas and to have Jesus put to death.
21. 21N30Landshøvdingen tok nu til orde og sa til dem: Hvem av de to vil I jeg skal gi eder fri? De sa: Barabbas!BSBBSB: “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” asked the governor. “Barabbas,” they replied.
De sier alle: La ham korsfeste!BSBBSB: “What then should I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” Pilate asked. They all answered, “Crucify Him!”
23. 23N30Han sa da: Hvad ondt har han da gjort? Men de ropte enda sterkere: La ham korsfeste!BSBBSB: “Why?” asked Pilate. “What evil has He done?” But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify Him!”
I dertil!BSBBSB: When Pilate saw that he was accomplishing nothing, but that instead a riot was breaking out, he took water and washed his hands before the crowd. “I am innocent of this man’s blood,” he said. “You bear the responsibility.”
25. 25N30Og alt folket svarte og sa: Hans blod komme over oss og over våre barn!BSBBSB: All the people answered, “His blood be on us and on our children!”
So Pilate released Barabbas to them. But he had Jesus flogged, and handed Him over to be crucified.
27. 27N30Da tok landshøvdingens stridsmenn Jesus med sig inn i borgen og samlet hele vakten omkring ham.BSBBSB: Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole company around Him.
28. 28N30Og de klædde ham av og hengte en skarlagens kappe om ham,BSBBSB: They stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him.
29. 29N30og de flettet en krone av torner og satte på hans hode, og gav ham et rør i hans høire hånd, og de falt på kne for ham og hånte ham og sa: Vær hilset, du jødenes konge!BSBBSB: And they twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on His head. They put a staff in His right hand, knelt down before Him, and mocked Him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”
30. 30N30Og de spyttet på ham og tok røret og slo ham i hodet.BSBBSB: Then they spit on Him and took the staff and struck Him on the head repeatedly.
31. 31N30Og da de hadde hånet ham, tok de kappen av ham og klædde ham i hans egne klær, og førte ham bort for å korsfeste ham.BSBBSB: After they had mocked Him, they removed the robe and put His own clothes back on Him. Then they led Him away to crucify Him.
32. 32N30Men mens de var på veien, traff de en mann fra Kyrene ved navn Simon; ham tvang de til å bære hans kors.BSBBSB: Along the way they found a man from Cyrene, named Simon, and they forced him to carry the cross of Jesus.
And when they came to a place called Golgotha, which means The Place of the Skull,
Him wine to drink, mixed with gall; but after tasting it, He refused to drink it.
35. 35N30De korsfestet ham da, og delte hans klær imellem sig ved loddkasting;BSBBSB: When they had crucified Him, they divided up His garments by casting lots.
36. 36N30og de satt der og holdt vakt over ham.BSBBSB: And sitting down, they kept watch over Him there.
37. 37N30Og over hans hode satte de klagemålet imot ham, således skrevet: Dette er Jesus, jødenes konge.BSBBSB: Above His head they posted the written charge against Him: THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS.
38. 38N30Da blev to røvere korsfestet sammen med ham, en på den høire og en på den venstre side.BSBBSB: Two robbers were crucified with Him, one on His right and the other on His left.
39. 39N30Og de som gikk forbi, spottet ham og rystet på hodet og sa:BSBBSB: And those who passed by heaped abuse on Him, shaking their heads
Er du Guds Sønn, da stig ned av korset!BSBBSB: and saying, “You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross!”
41. 41N30Likeså spottet også yppersteprestene tillikemed de skriftlærde og de eldste ham og sa:BSBBSB: In the same way, the chief priests, scribes, and elders mocked Him, saying,
42. 42N30Andre har han frelst, sig selv kan han ikke frelse! Han er jo Israels konge; la ham nu stige ned av korset, så skal vi tro på ham!BSBBSB: “He saved others, but He cannot save Himself. He is the King of Israel! Let Him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in Him.
43. 43N30Han har satt sin lit til Gud; han fri ham nu om han har behag i ham! Han har jo sagt: Jeg er Guds Sønn.BSBBSB: He trusts in God. Let God deliver Him now if He wants Him. For He said, ‘I am the Son of God.’”
In the same way, even the robbers who were crucified with Him berated Him.
45. 45N30Men fra den sjette time blev det mørke over hele landet like til den niende time.BSBBSB: From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land.
Min Gud! hvorfor har du forlatt mig?BSBBSB: About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”
When some of those standing there heard this, they said, “He is calling Elijah.”
48. 48N30Og straks løp en av dem frem og tok en svamp og fylte den med eddik og stakk den på et rør og gav ham å drikke.BSBBSB: One of them quickly ran and brought a sponge. He filled it with sour wine, put it on a reed, and held it up for Jesus to drink.
49. 49N30Men de andre sa: Vent, la oss se om Elias kommer for å frelse ham!BSBBSB: But the others said, “Leave Him alone. Let us see if Elijah comes to save Him.”
50. 50N30Men Jesus ropte atter med høi røst og opgav ånden.BSBBSB: When Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, He yielded up His spirit.
51. 51N30Og se, forhenget i templet revnet i to stykker fra øverst til nederst, og jorden skalv, og klippene revnet,BSBBSB: At that moment the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth quaked, and the rocks were split.
52. 52N30og gravene åpnedes, og mange av de hensovede helliges legemer stod op,BSBBSB: The tombs broke open, and the bodies of many saints who had fallen asleep were raised.
After Jesus’ resurrection, when they had come out of the tombs, they entered the holy city and appeared to many people.
When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified and said, “Truly this was the Son of God.”
And many women were there, watching from a distance. They had followed Jesus from Galilee to minister to Him.
56. 56N30blandt dem var Maria Magdalena, og Maria, Jakobs og Joses' mor, og Sebedeus-sønnenes mor.BSBBSB: Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of Zebedee’s sons.
When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea named Joseph, who himself was a disciple of Jesus.
58. 58N30han gikk til Pilatus og bad om Jesu legeme. Da bød Pilatus at det skulde gis ham.BSBBSB: He went to Pilate to ask for the body of Jesus, and Pilate ordered that it be given to him.
59. 59N30Og Josef tok legemet og svøpte det i et rent, fint linklædeBSBBSB: So Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
60. 60N30og la det i sin nye grav, som han hadde latt hugge i klippen, og han veltet en stor sten for døren til graven, og gikk bort.BSBBSB: and placed it in his own new tomb that he had cut into the rock. Then he rolled a great stone across the entrance to the tomb and went away.
61. 61N30Men Maria Magdalena og den andre Maria var der og satt like imot graven.BSBBSB: Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting there opposite the tomb.
The next day, the one after Preparation Day, the chief priests and Pharisees assembled before Pilate.
63. 63N30og sa: Herre! vi kommer i hu at mens denne forfører ennu var i live, sa han: Tre dager efter står jeg op.BSBBSB: “Sir,” they said, “we remember that while He was alive that deceiver said, ‘After three days I will rise again.’
So give the order that the tomb be secured until the third day. Otherwise, His disciples may come and steal Him away and tell the people He has risen from the dead. And this last deception would be worse than the first.”
65. 65N30Pilatus sa til dem: Der har I vakt; gå bort og vokt graven som best I kan!BSBBSB: “You have a guard,” Pilate said. “Go, make the tomb as secure as you know how.”
66. 66N30De gikk bort og voktet graven sammen med vakten, efterat de hadde satt segl på stenen.BSBBSB: So they went and secured the tomb by sealing the stone and posting the guard.
