1. 1NPIULBपरमेश्वरले याकूबलाई भन्नुभयो, “उठेर बेथेलमा जा, र त्यहीँ बस् । तँ तेरा दाजु एसावबाट भाग्दा तँकहाँ देखा पर्नुहुने परमेश्वरको निम्ति एउटा वेदी बना ।”BSBBSB: Then God said to Jacob, “Arise, go up to Bethel, and settle there. Build an altar there to the God who appeared to you when you fled from your brother Esau.”
2. 2NPIULBत्यसपछि याकूबले तिनको घराना र तिनीसित भएका सबैलाई भने, “तिमीहरूका बिचमा भएका विदेशी देवताहरू हटाइदेओ, र आफू-आफूलाई शुद्ध पारेर लुगाहरू फेर ।BSBBSB: So Jacob told his household and all who were with him, “Get rid of the foreign gods that are among you. Purify yourselves and change your garments.
3. 3NPIULBअनि हामी यहाँबाट प्रस्थान गरी माथि बेथेलमा जाऔँ । त्यहाँ म परमेश्वरको लागि एउटा वेदी बनाउनेछु जसले मेरो दुःखमा मलाई जवाफ दिनुभयो र म जहाँ गए पनि उहाँ मसित हुनुभएको छ ।”BSBBSB: Then let us arise and go to Bethel. I will build an altar there to God, who answered me in my day of distress. He has been with me wherever I have gone.”
4. 4NPIULBत्यसैले तिनीहरूले आ-आफ्ना हातमा भएका सबै विदेशी देवता र तिनीहरूका कानमा लगाएका कुण्डलहरू याकूबलाई दिए । याकूबलेBSBBSB: So they gave Jacob all their foreign gods and all their earrings, and Jacob buried them under the oak near Shechem.
5. 5NPIULBतिनलाई शकेमको नजिकै रहेको फलाँटको रुखमुनि गाडे । तिनीहरू यात्रा गर्दै अगाडि बढ्दा परमेश्वरले तिनीहरूका वरिपरिका सहरहरूमा त्रास फैलाइदिनुभयो । त्यसैले ती मानिसहरूले याकूबका छोराहरूलाई लखेटेनन् ।BSBBSB: As they set out, a terror from God fell over the surrounding cities, so that they did not pursue Jacob’s sons.
6. 6NPIULBयाकूब तिनीसित भएका सबै मानिससित लूज अर्थात् बेथेलमा आइपुगे जुन कनान देशमा पर्छ ।BSBBSB: So Jacob and everyone with him arrived in Luz (that is, Bethel) in the land of Canaan.
7. 7NPIULBत्यहाँ तिनले एउटा वेदी बनाए, र त्यसको नाउँ एल-बेथेल राखे किनकि तिनी आफ्ना दाजुबाट भाग्दा त्यहाँ परमेश्वरले आफैलाई तिनीकहाँ प्रकट गराउनुभएको थियो ।BSBBSB: There Jacob built an altar, and he called that place El-bethel, because it was there that God had revealed Himself to Jacob as he fled from his brother.
8. 8NPIULBत्यहाँ रिबेकाकी धाई दबोरा मरी । त्यसलाई बेथेलनेरको फलाँटको रुखमुनि गाडियो । त्यसैले यसको नाउँ अल्लोन-बकुत राखियो ।BSBBSB: Now Deborah, Rebekah’s nurse, died and was buried under the oak below Bethel. So Jacob named it Allon-bacuth.
9. 9NPIULBयाकूब पद्दन-आरामबाट आउँदा परमेश्वर फेरि तिनीकहाँ प्रकट हुनुभई तिनलाई आशिष् दिनुभयो ।BSBBSB: After Jacob had returned from Paddan-aram, God appeared to him again and blessed him.
10. 10NPIULBपरमेश्वरले तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “तेरो नाउँ याकूब हो, तर अबदेखि तेरो नाउँ याकूब भनिनेछैन । तेरो नाउँ इस्राएल हुनेछ ।” त्यसैले परमेश्वरले तिनको नाउँ इस्राएल राखिदिनुभयो ।BSBBSB: And God said to him, “Though your name is Jacob, you will no longer be called Jacob. Instead, your name will be Israel.” So God named him Israel.
11. 11NPIULBपरमेश्वरले तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “म सर्वशक्तिमान् परमेश्वर हुँ । फल्दै-फुल्दै वृद्धि हुँदै जा । तँबाट एउटा जाति र जाति-जातिहरूको समूह उदय हुनेछ, अनि तेरा सन्तानहरूका बिचमा राजाहरू हुनेछन् ।BSBBSB: And God told him, “I am God Almighty. Be fruitful and multiply. A nation—even a company of nations—shall come from you, and kings shall descend from you.
12. 12NPIULBमैले अब्राहाम र इसहाकलाई दिएको देश म तँलाई दिनेछु । तँपछि उदय हुने तेरा सन्तानहरूलाई पनि म यो देश दिनेछु ।”BSBBSB: The land that I gave to Abraham and Isaac I will give to you, and I will give this land to your descendants after you.”
13. 13NPIULBतिनीसित कुराकानी गर्नुभएको ठाउँबाट परमेश्वर जानुभयो ।BSBBSB: Then God went up from the place where He had spoken with him.
14. 14NPIULBपरमेश्वर तिनीसित कुराकानी गर्नुभएको ठाउँमा याकूबले ढुङ्गाको एउटा वेदी खडा गरे । तिनले त्यसमाथि अर्घ-बलि चढाएर तेल खन्याए ।BSBBSB: So Jacob set up a pillar in the place where God had spoken with him—a stone marker—and he poured out a drink offering on it and anointed it with oil.
15. 15NPIULBपरमेश्वर तिनीसित बोल्नुभएको त्यस ठाउँलाई याकूबले बेथेल नाउँ दिए ।BSBBSB: Jacob called the place where God had spoken with him Bethel.
16. 16NPIULBतिनीहरू बेथेलबाट प्रस्थान गरे । तिनीहरू एप्रात आइपुग्न अलिकति दुरी बाँकी छँदा नै राहेललाई सुत्केरी व्यथा लाग्यो । उनलाई ज्यादै पीडा भएको थियो ।BSBBSB: Later, they set out from Bethel, and while they were still some distance from Ephrath, Rachel began to give birth, and her labor was difficult.
17. 17NPIULBउनी अत्यधिक पीडामा हुँदा सुँडेनीले उनलाई भनी, “भयभीत नहुनुहोस् किनकि अब तपाईंले अर्को छोरो जन्माउनुहुनेछ ।”BSBBSB: During her severe labor, the midwife said to her, “Do not be afraid, for you are having another son.”
18. 18NPIULBउनको प्राण जाने बेलामा उनी चिच्च्याउँदै गर्दा उनले त्यसको नाउँ बेन-ओनी राखिन्, तर त्यसका पिताले त्यसलाई बेन्यामीन नाउँ दिए ।BSBBSB: And with her last breath—for she was dying—she named him Ben-oni. But his father called him Benjamin.
19. 19NPIULBराहेल मरिन् र एप्राता (अर्थात् बेथलेहेम) जाने बाटोमा उनलाई गाडियो ।BSBBSB: So Rachel died and was buried on the way to Ephrath (that is, Bethlehem).
20. 20NPIULBयाकूबले उनको चिहानमा एउटा खामो खडा गरे । आजको दिनसम्म यो राहेलको चिहानको चिन्हको रूपमा खडा छ ।BSBBSB: Jacob set up a pillar on her grave; it marks Rachel’s tomb to this day.
21. 21NPIULBइस्राएल अगि बढे र तिनले बगालको धरहराभन्दा पर आफ्नो पाल टाँगे ।BSBBSB: Israel again set out and pitched his tent beyond the Tower of Eder.
22. 22NPIULBइस्राएल त्यस देशमा बसिरहँदा रूबेन आफ्ना पिताकी भित्रिनी बिल्हासित सुते, र इस्राएलले यस विषयमा सुने । याकूबका बार्ह जना छोरा थिए ।BSBBSB: While Israel was living in that region, Reuben went in and slept with his father’s concubine Bilhah, and Israel heard about it. Jacob had twelve sons:
23. 23NPIULBयाकूबले लेआबाट जन्माएका छोराहरू यिनै थिएः जेठो रूबेन, त्यसपछि शिमियोन, लेवी, यहूदा, इस्साखार र जबूलून ।BSBBSB: The sons of Leah were Reuben the firstborn of Jacob, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun.
24. 24NPIULBराहेलतर्फका छोराहरू यिनै थिएः योसेफ र बेन्यामीन ।BSBBSB: The sons of Rachel were Joseph and Benjamin.
25. 25NPIULBराहेलकी कमारी बिल्हातर्फका छोराहरू यिनै थिएः दान र नप्ताली ।BSBBSB: The sons of Rachel’s maidservant Bilhah were Dan and Naphtali.
26. 26NPIULBलेआकी कमारी जिल्पातर्फका छोराहरू यिनै थिएः गाद र आशेर । यी सबै याकूबले पद्दन-आराममा जन्माएका छोराहरू थिए ।BSBBSB: And the sons of Leah’s maidservant Zilpah were Gad and Asher. These are the sons of Jacob, who were born to him in Paddan-aram.
27. 27NPIULBयाकूब किर्यत-अर्बा (जुन हेब्रोन हो) मा आफ्ना पिता इसहाककहाँ आए जहाँ अब्राहाम र इसहाक बसोबास गरेका थिए ।BSBBSB: Jacob returned to his father Isaac at Mamre, near Kiriath-arba (that is, Hebron), where Abraham and Isaac had stayed.
28. 28NPIULBइसहाक एक सय असी वर्षसम्म बाँचे ।BSBBSB: And Isaac lived 180 years.
29. 29NPIULBइसहाकले आफ्नो अन्तिम सास फेरे र तिनको मृत्यु भयो अनि तिनी आफ्ना पुर्खाहरूसित मिल्न गए । तिनी पुरा बुढेसकालसम्म बाँचेका थिए । तिनका छोराहरू एसाव र याकूबले तिनलाई गाडे ।BSBBSB: Then he breathed his last and died and was gathered to his people, old and full of years. And his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.
