1. 1NPIULBती दिनमा बप्तिस्मा-दिने यूहन्ना यहूदियाको उजाड-स्थानमा यसो भनेर प्रचार गर्दै आए,BSBBSB: In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea
2. 2NPIULB“पश्चात्ताप गर, किनभने स्वर्गको राज्य नजिकै छ ।”BSBBSB: and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”
3. 3NPIULBकिनभने यी मानिस तिनै हुन् जसको बारेमा यशैया अगमवक्ताद्वारा यसो भनिएको थियो, “उजाड-स्थानमा एक जना कराउनेको आवाज, ‘परमप्रभुको मार्ग तयार पार, उहाँका मार्गहरू सोझा बनाओ’ ।”BSBBSB: This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for Him.’”
4. 4NPIULBअब यूहन्नाले उँटको रौँका वस्त्र र कम्मरको वरिपरि छालाको पेटी लगाउँथे । उनका खानेकुरा सलह र वन-मह थिए ।BSBBSB: John wore a garment of camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey.
5. 5NPIULBत्यसपछि यरूशलेम, सारा यहूदिया र यर्दन नदी वरपरका सबै क्षेत्रका मानिसहरू उनीकहाँ आए ।BSBBSB: People went out to him from Jerusalem and all Judea and the whole region around the Jordan.
6. 6NPIULBतिनीहरूले आ-आफ्ना पाप स्वीकार गर्दै यर्दन नदीमा बप्तिस्मा लिए ।BSBBSB: Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River.
7. 7NPIULBतर जब तिनले धेरै फरिसीहरू र सदुकीहरू बप्तिस्माको निम्ति तिनीकहाँ आएको देखे, तब तिनले तिनीहरूलाई भने, “विषालु सर्पका सन्तान हो, आउन लागेको क्रोधबाट भाग्न तिमीहरूलाई कसले चेतावनी दियो ?BSBBSB: But when John saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his place of baptism, he said to them, “You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?
8. 8NPIULBपश्चात्तापको निम्ति सुहाउँदो फल फलाओ ।BSBBSB: Produce fruit, then, in keeping with repentance.
9. 9NPIULBर आफ्नै बिचमा यस्तो विचार नगर, ‘अब्राहाम नै हाम्रा पिता हुन् ।’ किनकि म तिमीहरूलाई यो भन्दछु, कि अब्राहामका निम्ति परमेश्वरले यी ढुङ्गाहरूबाट पनि सन्तान उत्पन्न गराउन सक्नुहुन्छ ।BSBBSB: And do not presume to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.
10. 10NPIULBरुखहरूको फेदमा बन्चरो अगि नै परिसकेको छ । यसकारण, असल फल नफलाउने हरेक रुख काटी ढालिनेछ, र आगोमा फ्याँकिनेछ ।BSBBSB: The axe lies ready at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.
11. 11NPIULBम तिमीहरूलाई पश्चात्तापको निम्ति पानीले बप्तिस्मा दिन्छु । तर मपछि आउनुहुनेचाहिँ मभन्दा शक्तिशाली हुनुहुन्छ, र म उहाँका चप्पलहरू बोक्न पनि योग्यको छैनँ । उहाँले तिमीहरूलाई पवित्र आत्मा र आगोले बप्तिस्मा दिनुहुनेछ ।BSBBSB: I baptize you with water for repentance, but after me will come One more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
12. 12NPIULBउहाँको खलालाई राम्ररी सफा गर्न र धनसारमा उहाँको गहुँ थुपार्न उहाँको निफन्ने नाङ्लो उहाँको हातमा छ । तर उहाँले भुसलाई चाहिँ कहिल्यै निभाउन नसकिने आगोले डढाइदिनुहुनेछ ।”BSBBSB: His winnowing fork is in His hand to clear His threshing floor and to gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
13. 13NPIULBत्यसपछि यूहन्नाबाट बप्तिस्मा लिनको निम्ति येशू गालीलबाट यर्दन नदीमा आउनुभयो ।BSBBSB: At that time Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John.
14. 14NPIULBतर यूहन्नाले यसो भन्दै उहाँलाई रोक्न खोजिरहे, “मैले पो तपाईंबाट बप्तिस्मा लिनुपर्नेमा के तपाईंचाहिँ म कहाँ आउनुहुन्छ ?”BSBBSB: But John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and do You come to me?”
15. 15NPIULBयेशूले जवाफ दिँदै तिनलाई यसो भन्नुभयो, “अहिलेलाई यस्तै हुन देऊ, किनकि सबै धार्मिकता पुरा गर्नु हाम्रो निम्ति उपयुक्त छ ।” तब यूहन्नाले उहाँलाई बप्तिस्मा लिन दिए ।BSBBSB: “Let it be so now,” Jesus replied. “It is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness in this way.” Then John permitted Him.
16. 16NPIULBउहाँको बप्तिस्मा भइसकेपछि येशू तुरुन्तै पानीबाट बाहिर निस्केर आउनुभयो, र हेर, उहाँको निम्ति स्वर्ग उघारियो । उहाँले परमेश्वरका आत्मा ढुकुरजस्तै गरी तल झर्दै आफूमाथि आइरहनुभएको देख्नुभयो ।BSBBSB: As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water. Suddenly the heavens were opened, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and resting on Him.
17. 17NPIULBहेर, स्वर्गबाट यसो भन्ने एउटा आवाज आयो, “यिनी मेरा अति प्रिय पुत्र हुन् । म यिनीसँग अत्यन्त प्रसन्न छु ।”BSBBSB: And a voice from heaven said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased!”
