2 Peter 1 (CCL)

Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours:

2Chisomo ndi mtendere zochuluka zikhale nanu pomudziwa Mulungu ndi Yesu Ambuye athu.Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

3Mulungu mwa mphamvu zake anatipatsa zonse zofunika kukhala moyo opembedza, potidziwitsa za Iyeyo amene anatiyitana ku ulemerero wake ndi ubwino wake.His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.

4Mwa ulemerero ndi ubwino wakewo, anatipatsa malonjezo opambana kwambiri ndi a mtengowapatali. Amenewa ndi malonjezo amene amakuthandizani kulandira nawo moyo wa Mulungu, titapulumuka ku chiwonongeko chimene chili mʼdziko lapansi chifukwa cha zilakolako zoyipa.Through these He has given us His precious and magnificent promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, now that you have escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

5Choncho, chitani khama kuwonjezera moyo wabwino pa chikhulupiriro chanu, ndipo pa moyo wabwino muwonjezerepo nzeru.For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith virtue; and to virtue, knowledge;

6Pa nzeru muwonjezerepo kudziretsa, pa kudziretsa muwonjezerepo chipiriro, ndipo pa chipiriro muwonjezerepo khalidwe lolemekeza Mulungu.and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness;

7Pa khalidwe lolemekeza Mulungu muwonjezerepo chifundo cha ubale, pa chifundo cha ubale muwonjezerepo chikondi.and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.

8Ngati zonsezi zikhala mwa inu nʼkumachuluka, zidzakuthandizani kuti musakhale aulesi ndi osapindula ndi chidziwitso chanu cha Ambuye athu Yesu Khristu.For if you possess these qualities and continue to grow in them, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9Koma ngati wina alibe zimenezi, ndi wakhungu sangathe kuona patali, ndipo wayiwala kuti anayeretsedwa machimo ake akale.But whoever lacks these traits is nearsighted to the point of blindness, having forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.

10Nʼchifukwa chake abale anga, funitsitsani kuti mayitanidwe ndi masankhidwe anu akhale otsimikizika. Pakuti ngati muchita zinthu izi, simudzagwa konse.Therefore, brothers, strive to make your calling and election sure. For if you practice these things you will never stumble,

11Mudzalandiridwa bwino kwambiri mu ufumu wosatha wa Ambuye ndi Mpulumutsi wathu Yesu Khristu.and you will receive a lavish reception into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

12Tsono ine ndidzakukumbutsani nthawi zonse za zinthu zimenezi, ngakhale kuti mumazidziwa ndipo kuti munakhazikika mʼchoonadi chimene muli nacho tsopano.Therefore I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are established in the truth you now have.

13Ndikuganiza kuti nʼkoyenera ndikanali mu msasa uno, kuti ndikutsitsimutseni ndi kukukumbutsani,I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of my body,

14chifukwa ndikudziwa kuti posachedwapa ndikuchoka mu msasa uno, monga Ambuye athu Yesu Khristu anandidziwitsiratu.because I know that this tent will soon be laid aside, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me.

15Ndipo ndidzayesetsa kuti nditachoka, mudzakumbukire nthawi zonse.And I will make every effort to ensure that after my departure, you will be able to recall these things at all times.

16Ife sitinatsate nkhani zongopeka titakuwuzani za mphamvu zake ndi zakubweranso kwa Ambuye athu Yesu Khristu, koma tinaona ndi maso athu za ukulu wake.For we did not follow cleverly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty.

17Pakuti Iye analandira ulemu ndi ulemerero kuchokera kwa Mulungu Atate atamufikira mawu ochokera ku ulemerero wa ukulu akuti, “Uyu ndi mwana wanga amene Ine ndimukonda, amene ndimakondwera naye kwambiri.”For He received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to Him from the Majestic Glory, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

18Ifeyo tinamva mawuwa akuchokera kumwamba pamene tinali naye pamodzi pa phiri lopatulika lija.And we ourselves heard this voice from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain.

19Tsono ifenso tili ndi mawu a uneneri amene ndi odalirika kwambiri ndipo inu mudzachita bwino mukawasamalira mawuwa, monga kuwunika kumene kukuwala mu mdima, mpaka tsiku lidzayambe kucha, pamene nthanda idzayambe kuwala mʼmitima mwanu.We also have the word of the prophets as confirmed beyond doubt. And you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

20Kuposa zonse, inu muyenera kuzindikira kuti palibe mawu a uneneri amene amatanthauzidwa pa okha.Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture comes from one’s own interpretation.

21Pakuti mawu a uneneri sanadze mwa kufuna kwa anthu, koma anthu anayankhula zochokera kwa Mulungu, Mzimu Woyera atawayankhulitsa.For no such prophecy was ever brought forth by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
