1 UDB ଏହି କଥା ସତ୍ୟ, କେହି ଯଦି ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷ ପଦ ପାଇବାକୁ ଆକାଂକ୍ଷା କରନ୍ତି, ତେବେ ସେ ଉତ୍ତମ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଇଚ୍ଛା କରନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: This is a trustworthy saying: If anyone aspires to be an overseer, he desires a noble task.
2 UDB ଅତଏବ, ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷଙ୍କର ନିନ୍ଦନୀୟ ନ ହେବା ଆବଶ୍ୟକ, ସେ ଅବଶ୍ୟ ଏକ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀର ସ୍ୱାମୀ, ଆତ୍ମସଞ୍ଜମ, ଉତ୍ତମ ବୁଦ୍ଧି, ସଦାଚାରୀ, ଆତିଥ୍ୟପ୍ରିୟ ଓ ଶିକ୍ଷାଦାନରେ ନିପୁଣ ହେବେ, BSB BSB: An overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,
3 UDB ମଦ୍ୟପାୟୀ କି ବିବାଦପ୍ରିୟ ନ ହୋଇ ବରଂ ମୃଦୁଶୀଳ, ଶାନ୍ତିପ୍ରିୟ ଓ ନିର୍ଲୋଭ ହେବେ, BSB BSB: not dependent on wine, not violent but gentle, peaceable, and free of the love of money.
4 UDB ନିଜ ପରିବାରକୁ ଉତ୍ତମ ରୂପେ ଶାସନ କରିବେ, ଗାମ୍ଭୀର୍ଯ୍ୟ ସହକାରେ ଆପଣା ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କୁ ବଶୀଭୂତ କରି ରଖିବେ। BSB BSB: An overseer must manage his own household well and keep his children under control, with complete dignity.
5 UDB (କେହି ଯେବେ ଆପଣା ପରିବାରକୁ ଶାସନ କରିବାକୁ ଜାଣେ ନାହିଁ, ତେବେ ସେ କିପରି ଈଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ମଣ୍ଡଳୀର ଦାୟିତ୍ୱ ନେବ?) BSB BSB: For if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how can he care for the church of God?
6 UDB ଜଣେ ନୂଆ ବିଶ୍ୱାସୀ ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷ ହେବା ଉଚିତ୍ ନୁହେଁ, କାଳେ ଅସାରଗର୍ବୀ ହୋଇ ଶୟତାନ ଭଳି ଦଣ୍ଡଗ୍ରସ୍ତ ହେବେ। BSB BSB: He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same condemnation as the devil.
7 UDB ତାହାଙ୍କର ମଧ୍ୟ ବାହାର ଲୋକଙ୍କଠାରୁ ସମ୍ମାନ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ହେବା ଆବଶ୍ୟକ, କାଳେ ସେ ନିନ୍ଦା ପାଇ ଶୟତାନ ଦ୍ୱାରା ପ୍ରରୋଚିତ ହୋଇ ପାପ କରିବ। BSB BSB: Furthermore, he must have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the snare of the devil.
8 UDB ସେହି ପ୍ରକାରେ ସେବକମାନେ ଅନ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ସମ୍ମାନ ପାଉଥିବା ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ହେବା ଆବଶ୍ୟକ। ସେମାନେ ବାକ୍ୟରେ ବିଶ୍ୱସ୍ତ ହେବା ଦରକାର। BSB BSB: Deacons likewise must be dignified, not double-tongued or given to much wine or greedy for money.
9 UDB ମଦ୍ୟପାନରେ ଅନାସକ୍ତ ଓ କୁତ୍ସିତ ଧନଲାଭରେ ନିର୍ଲୋଭ ହେବା ଆବଶ୍ୟକ; ସେମାନେ ଈଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ସତ୍ୟ ବାକ୍ୟରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରିବା ଉଚିତ୍, ଏବଂ ଯାହା ସଠିକ୍ ତାହା ଜାଣିବେ ଓ ତାହା କରିବେ। BSB BSB: They must hold to the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience.

11 UDB ସେହି ପ୍ରକାରେ ସେବକମାନଙ୍କର ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ’ମାନଙ୍କୁ ସମସ୍ତେ ସମ୍ମାନ ଦେବା ଉଚିତ୍। ସେମାନେ ମଧ୍ୟ ପରନିନ୍ଦାକାରିଣୀ ନ ହୋଇ ଗମ୍ଭୀର, ମିତାଚାରିଣୀ ଓ ସମସ୍ତ ବିଷୟରେ ବିଶ୍ୱସ୍ତ ହେବା ଆବଶ୍ୟକ। BSB BSB: In the same way, the women must be dignified, not slanderers, but temperate and faithful in all things.
12 UDB ସେବକମାନେ ଏକ ଏକ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ’ର ସ୍ୱାମୀ ହେଉନ୍ତୁ, ପୁଣି, ନିଜ ନିଜ ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓ ପରିବାରକୁ ଉତ୍ତମ ରୂପେ ଶାସନ କରନ୍ତୁ। BSB BSB: A deacon must be the husband of but one wife, a good manager of his children and of his own household.
13 UDB କାରଣ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଉତ୍ତମ ରୂପେ ସେବକ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, ସେମାନେ ନିଜ ନିଜ ପାଇଁ ଉତ୍ତମ ଖ୍ୟାତି ଓ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କଠାରେ ଅଧିକ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: For those who have served well as deacons acquire for themselves a high standing and great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus.
14 UDB ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଏ ସମସ୍ତ ଲେଖିଥିବା ହେତୁ ମୁଁ ଶୀଘ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିକଟକୁ ଯିବି ବୋଲି ଆଶା କରୁଅଛି; BSB BSB: Although I hope to come to you soon, I am writing you these things
15 UDB ମାତ୍ର ଯେବେ ମୋହର ବିଳମ୍ବ ହୁଏ, ତେବେ ଈଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଗୃହରେ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍ ସତ୍ୟର ସ୍ତମ୍ଭ ଓ ଭିତ୍ତିମୂଳ ସ୍ୱରୂପ ଜୀବିତ ଈଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ମଣ୍ଡଳୀରେ, କିପରି ଆଚରଣ କରିବାକୁ ହୁଏ, ତାହା ଯେପରି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣି ପାର, ଏହେତୁ ଏହି ସମସ୍ତ ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିକଟକୁ ଲେଖୁଅଛି। BSB BSB: in case I am delayed, so that you will know how each one must conduct himself in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.
