1 UDB ଯୀଶୁ ଏହି ସବୁ କଥା କହି ଆପଣା ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ କିଦ୍ରୋଣ ଜୋଡ଼ର ଆରପାଖକୁ ବାହାରିଗଲେ। ସେଠାରେ ଗୋଟିଏ ଉଦ୍ୟାନ ଥିଲା, ଆଉ ସେ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନେ ସେଥିରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କଲେ। BSB BSB: After Jesus had spoken these words, He went out with His disciples across the Kidron Valley, where they entered a garden.
2 UDB ଯେଉଁ ଯିହୂଦା ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଶତ୍ରୁ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କଲା, ସେ ମଧ୍ୟ ସେହି ସ୍ଥାନ ଜାଣିଥିଲା, କାରଣ ଯୀଶୁ ଅନେକ ଥର ଆପଣା ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ସେ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଯାଉଥିଲେ। BSB BSB: Now Judas His betrayer also knew the place, because Jesus had often met there with His disciples.
3 UDB ଅତଏବ, ଯିହୂଦା ସୈନ୍ୟଦଳ ପୁଣି, ପ୍ରଧାନ ଯାଜକ ଓ ଫାରୂଶୀମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ପଦାତିକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଘେନି ବତୀ, ମଶାଲ ଓ ଅସ୍ତ୍ରଶସ୍ତ୍ର ଧରି ସେଠାକୁ ଆସିଲା। BSB BSB: So Judas brought a band of soldiers and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees. They arrived at the garden carrying lanterns, torches, and weapons.
4 UDB ସେଥିରେ ଯୀଶୁ, ତାହାଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଯାହା ଯାହା ଘଟିବାକୁ ଯାଉଅଛି, ସେହି ସବୁ ଜାଣି ଆଗକୁ ଯାଇ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ପଚାରିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କାହାକୁ ଖୋଜୁଅଛ? BSB BSB: Jesus, knowing all that was coming upon Him, stepped forward and asked them, “Whom are you seeking?”
5 UDB ସେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, ନାଜରିତୀୟ ଯୀଶୁକୁ। ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ମୁଁ ସେହି। ଯେଉଁ ଯିହୂଦା ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଶତ୍ରୁ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କଲା, ସେ ମଧ୍ୟ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସାଙ୍ଗରେ ଠିଆ ହୋଇଥିଲା। BSB BSB: “Jesus of Nazareth,” they answered. Jesus said, “I am He.” And Judas His betrayer was standing there with them.
6 UDB ଯୀଶୁ ଯେତେବେଳେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ମୁଁ ସେହି, ସେତେବେଳେ ସେମାନେ ପଛକୁ ହଟିଯାଇ ଭୂମିରେ ପଡ଼ିଗଲେ। BSB BSB: When Jesus said, “I am He,” they drew back and fell to the ground.
7 UDB ସେଥିରେ ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଉ ଥରେ ପଚାରିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କାହାକୁ ଖୋଜୁଅଛ? ସେମାନେ କହିଲେ, ନାଜରିତୀୟ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ। BSB BSB: So He asked them again, “Whom are you seeking?” “Jesus of Nazareth,” they answered.
8 UDB ଯୀଶୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, ମୁଁ ଯେ ସେହି, ଏହା ତ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲି। ଏଣୁ ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମୋତେ ଖୋଜୁଅଛ, ତାହାହେଲେ ଏମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯିବା ପାଇଁ ଛାଡ଼ିଦିଅ। BSB BSB: “I told you that I am He,” Jesus replied. “So if you are looking for Me, let these men go.”
9 UDB ସେ ଏହା କହିଲେ, ଯେପରି ତାହାଙ୍କ ଉକ୍ତ ଏହି ବାକ୍ୟ ସଫଳ ହୁଏ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋତେ ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦେଇଅଛ, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ମୁଁ ଜଣକୁ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ହରାଇ ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: This was to fulfill the word He had spoken: “I have not lost one of those You have given Me.”
10 UDB ଶିମୋନ ପିତରଙ୍କ ପାଖରେ ଖଣ୍ଡା ଥିବାରୁ ସେ ତାହା ବାହାର କରି ମହାଯାଜକଙ୍କ ଦାସକୁ ଆଘାତ କଲେ ଓ ତାହାର ଡାହାଣ କାନ କାଟିପକାଇଲେ; ସେହି ଦାସର ନାମ ମାଲ୍ଖ। BSB BSB: Then Simon Peter drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.
11 UDB ସେଥିରେ ଯୀଶୁ ପିତରଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଖଣ୍ଡା ଖାପରେ ରଖ; ପିତା ମୋତେ ଯେଉଁ ପାତ୍ର ଦେଇଅଛନ୍ତି, ମୁଁ କ'ଣ ସେଥିରୁ ପାନ କରିବି ନାହିଁ? BSB BSB: “Put your sword back in its sheath!” Jesus said to Peter. “Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given Me?”
12 UDB ଏହାପରେ ସୈନ୍ୟଦଳ, ପ୍ରଧାନ ସେନାପତି, ପୁଣି, ଯିହୂଦୀମାନଙ୍କର ପଦାତିକମାନେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ଧରିଲେ BSB BSB: Then the band of soldiers, with its commander and the officers of the Jews, arrested Jesus and bound Him.
14 UDB ଲୋକସାଧାରଣଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଜଣେ ମରିବା ମଙ୍ଗଳଜନକ ବୋଲି ଯିହୂଦୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯେ ପରାମର୍ଶ ଦେଇଥିଲେ, ଏ ସେହି କୟାଫା। BSB BSB: Caiaphas was the one who had advised the Jews that it would be better if one man died for the people.
15 UDB ଶିମୋନ ପିତର ଓ ଆଉ ଜଣେ ଶିଷ୍ୟ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ପଛେ ପଛେ ଯାଉଥିଲେ। ସେହି ଶିଷ୍ୟ ମହାଯାଜକଙ୍କର ପରିଚିତ ଥିଲେ ଓ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ସହିତ ମହାଯାଜକଙ୍କ ପ୍ରାଙ୍ଗଣରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କଲେ; BSB BSB: Now Simon Peter and another disciple were following Jesus. Since that disciple was known to the high priest, he also went with Jesus into the courtyard of the high priest.
16 UDB କିନ୍ତୁ ପିତର ବାହାରେ ଦ୍ୱାର ନିକଟରେ ଠିଆ ହୋଇ ରହିଲେ। ଅତଏବ, ସେହି ଯେଉଁ ଅନ୍ୟ ଶିଷ୍ୟ ମହାଯାଜକଙ୍କ ପରିଚିତ ଥିଲେ, ସେ ବାହାରକୁ ଯାଇ ଦ୍ୱାରରକ୍ଷିକାକୁ କହି ପିତରଙ୍କୁ ଭିତରକୁ ଆଣିଲେ। BSB BSB: But Peter stood outside at the door. Then the disciple who was known to the high priest went out and spoke to the doorkeeper, and brought Peter in.
17 UDB ସେଥିରେ ସେହି ଦ୍ୱାରରକ୍ଷିକା ଦାସୀ ପିତରଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମଧ୍ୟ କ'ଣ ଏହି ଲୋକର ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଜଣେ ନୁହଁ? ସେ କହିଲେ, ମୁଁ ନୁହେଁ। BSB BSB: At this, the servant girl watching the door said to Peter, “Aren’t you also one of this man’s disciples?” “I am not,” he answered.
18 UDB ଶୀତ ହେତୁ ଦାସ ଓ ପଦାତିକମାନେ ଅଙ୍ଗାର ଜାଳି ସେଠାରେ ଠିଆ ହୋଇ ନିଆଁ ପୋଉଁଥିଲେ; ପିତର ମଧ୍ୟ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସାଙ୍ଗରେ ଠିଆ ହୋଇ ନିଆଁ ପୋଉଁଥିଲେ। BSB BSB: Because it was cold, the servants and officers were standing around a charcoal fire they had made to keep warm. And Peter was also standing with them, warming himself.
19 UDB ଇତିମଧ୍ୟରେ ମହାଯାଜକ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ବିଷୟରେ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଶିକ୍ଷା ସମ୍ବନ୍ଧରେ ପଚାରିଲେ। BSB BSB: Meanwhile, the high priest questioned Jesus about His disciples and His teaching.
20 UDB ଯୀଶୁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, ମୁଁ ଜଗତ ନିକଟରେ ପ୍ରକାଶରେ କଥା କହିଅଛି; ଯେଉଁଠାରେ ସମସ୍ତ ଯିହୂଦୀ ଏକତ୍ର ହୁଅନ୍ତି, ଏପରି ସମାଜଗୃହ ଓ ମନ୍ଦିରରେ ମୁଁ ସର୍ବଦା ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦେଇଅଛି; ମୁଁ ଗୋପନରେ କିଛି କହି ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: “I have spoken openly to the world,” Jesus answered. “I always taught in the synagogues and at the temple, where all the Jews come together. I said nothing in secret.
21 UDB ମୋତେ କାହିଁକି ପଚାରୁଅଛନ୍ତି? ମୁଁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କ'ଣ କହିଅଛି, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଶୁଣିଅଛନ୍ତି, ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ପଚାରନ୍ତୁ; ଦେଖନ୍ତୁ, ମୁଁ ଯାହା ଯାହା କହିଅଛି, ସେମାନେ ସେହି ସବୁ ଜାଣନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: Why are you asking Me? Ask those who heard My message. Surely they know what I said.”
22 UDB ସେ ଏହା କହିବାରୁ ପଦାତିକମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ପାଖରେ ଠିଆ ହୋଇଥିବା ଜଣେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ଚାପୁଡ଼ା ମାରି କହିଲା, ତୁ ମହାଯାଜକଙ୍କୁ ଏପରି ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଉଅଛୁ? BSB BSB: When Jesus had said this, one of the officers standing nearby slapped Him in the face and said, “Is this how You answer the high priest?”
23 UDB ଯୀଶୁ ତାକୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, ଯଦି ମୁଁ ମନ୍ଦ କହିଲି, ତାହାହେଲେ ମନ୍ଦର ପ୍ରମାଣ ଦିଅ; କିନ୍ତୁ ଯଦି ଭଲ କହିଲି, ତାହାହେଲେ କାହିଁକି ମୋତେ ମାରୁଅଛ? BSB BSB: Jesus replied, “If I said something wrong, testify as to what was wrong. But if I spoke correctly, why did you strike Me?”
24 UDB ସେଥିରେ ହାନାନ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ବନ୍ଧା ହୋଇଥିବା ଅବସ୍ଥାରେ ମହାଯାଜକ କୟାଫାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ପଠାଇଦେଲେ। BSB BSB: Then Annas sent Him, still bound, to Caiaphas the high priest.
25 UDB ଇତିମଧ୍ୟରେ ଶିମୋନ ପିତର ଠିଆ ହୋଇ ନିଆଁ ପୋଉଁଥିଲେ। ସେଥିରେ ସେମାନେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ପଚାରିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମଧ୍ୟ କ'ଣ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଜଣେ ନୁହଁ? ସେ ଅସ୍ୱୀକାର କରି କହିଲେ, ମୁଁ ନୁହେଁ। BSB BSB: Simon Peter was still standing and warming himself. So they asked him, “Aren’t you also one of His disciples?” He denied it and said, “I am not.”
26 UDB ମହାଯାଜକଙ୍କ ଦାସମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଜଣେ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍ ପିତର ଯାହାର କାନ କାଟିପକାଇଥିଲେ, ତାହାର ଜଣେ ଆତ୍ମୀୟ କହିଲା, ମୁଁ କ'ଣ ତୋତେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ସାଙ୍ଗରେ ବଗିଚାରେ ଦେଖି ନ ଥିଲି? BSB BSB: One of the high priest’s servants, a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off, asked, “Didn’t I see you with Him in the garden?”
27 UDB ସେଥିରେ ପିତର ପୁନର୍ବାର ଅସ୍ୱୀକାର କଲେ; ଆଉ, ସେହିକ୍ଷଣି କୁକୁଡ଼ା ଡାକିଲା। BSB BSB: Peter denied it once more, and immediately a rooster crowed.
28 UDB ପରେ ସେମାନେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ କୟାଫାଙ୍କ ନିକଟରୁ ପ୍ରାସାଦକୁ ଘେନିଗଲେ; ସେତେବେଳେ ପ୍ରାତଃକାଳ ହୋଇଥିଲା; ଆଉ, ସେମାନେ ଯେପରି ଅଶୁଚି ନ ହୋଇ ନିସ୍ତାର ପର୍ବର ଭୋଜ ପ୍ରତିପାଳନ କରି ପାରନ୍ତି, ଏଥି ନିମନ୍ତେ ନିଜେ ପ୍ରାସାଦ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କଲେ ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: Then they led Jesus away from Caiaphas into the Praetorium. By now it was early morning, and the Jews did not enter the Praetorium, to avoid being defiled and unable to eat the Passover.
29 UDB ଅତଏବ, ପୀଲାତ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ବାହାରି ଆସି ପଚାରିଲେ, ଏ ଲୋକ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କେଉଁ ଅଭିଯୋଗ ଆଣୁଅଛ? BSB BSB: So Pilate went out to them and asked, “What accusation are you bringing against this man?”
30 UDB ସେମାନେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, ଏ ଲୋକଟା ଯଦି ଦୁଷ୍କର୍ମକାରୀ ହୋଇ ନ ଥାଆନ୍ତା, ତାହାହେଲେ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତାହାକୁ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କରି ନ ଥାଆନ୍ତୁ। BSB BSB: “If He were not a criminal,” they replied, “we would not have handed Him over to you.”
31 UDB ସେଥିରେ ପୀଲାତ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏହାକୁ ଘେନିଯାଇ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ମୋଶାଙ୍କ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥାନୁସାରେ ଏହାର ବିଚାର କର। ଯିହୂଦୀମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, କାହାକୁ ପ୍ରାଣଦଣ୍ଡ ଦେବା ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଅଧିକାର ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: “You take Him and judge Him by your own law,” Pilate told them. “We are not permitted to execute anyone,” the Jews replied.
32 UDB ଯୀଶୁ କେଉଁ ପ୍ରକାର ମୃତ୍ୟୁଭୋଗ କରିବାକୁ ଯାଉଅଛନ୍ତି, ସେଥିର ସୂଚନା ଦେଇ ସେ ଯେଉଁ ବାକ୍ୟ କହିଥିଲେ, ତାହା ଯେପରି ସଫଳ ହୁଏ, ଏଥି ନିମନ୍ତେ ସେମାନେ ଏହା କହିଲେ। BSB BSB: This was to fulfill the word that Jesus had spoken to indicate the kind of death He was going to die.
34 UDB ଯୀଶୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, ଆପଣ କ'ଣ ନିଜରୁ ଏହା କହୁଅଛନ୍ତି, ନା ଅନ୍ୟମାନେ ମୋ' ସମ୍ବନ୍ଧରେ ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ଏହା କହିଅଛନ୍ତି? BSB BSB: “Are you saying this on your own,” Jesus asked, “or did others tell you about Me?”
35 UDB ପୀଲାତ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, ଆମ୍ଭେ କ'ଣ ଜଣେ ଯିହୂଦୀ? ତୁମ୍ଭର ସ୍ୱଜାତି ଓ ପ୍ରଧାନ ଯାଜକମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଆମ୍ଭ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି; ତୁମ୍ଭେ କ'ଣ କରିଅଛ? BSB BSB: “Am I a Jew?” Pilate replied. “Your own people and chief priests handed You over to me. What have You done?”
37 UDB ସେଥିରେ ପୀଲାତ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ପଚାରିଲେ, ତାହାହେଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ କ'ଣ ଜଣେ ରାଜା ନୁହଁ? ଯୀଶୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, ଆପଣ ତ କହୁଅଛନ୍ତି, ମୁଁ ଜଣେ ରାଜା। ମୁଁ ଯେପରି ସତ୍ୟ ପକ୍ଷରେ ସାକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ଦିଏ, ଏଥି ନିମନ୍ତେ ମୁଁ ଜନ୍ମ ହୋଇଅଛି ଓ ଜଗତକୁ ଆସିଅଛି। ଯେ କେହି ସତ୍ୟର ସନ୍ତାନ, ସେ ମୋହର କଥା ଶୁଣେ। BSB BSB: “Then You are a king!” Pilate said. “You say that I am a king,” Jesus answered. “For this reason I was born and have come into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to My voice.”
38 UDB ପୀଲାତ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ସତ୍ୟ କ'ଣ? ଏହା କହି ସେ ପୁଣି, ଯିହୂଦୀମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ବାହାରକୁ ଯାଇ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଏହାଠାରେ କୌଣସି ଦୋଷ ପାଉ ନାହୁଁ। BSB BSB: “What is truth?” Pilate asked. And having said this, he went out again to the Jews and told them, “I find no basis for a charge against Him.
39 UDB କିନ୍ତୁ ଆମେ ଯେ ନିସ୍ତାର ପର୍ବ ସମୟରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଜଣକୁ ମୁକ୍ତ କରିଦେଉ, ଏହା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ରୀତି ଅଛି; ଅତଏବ, ଯିହୂଦୀମାନଙ୍କ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ମୁକ୍ତ କରିଦେବୁ ବୋଲି କ'ଣ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଇଚ୍ଛା? BSB BSB: But it is your custom that I release to you one prisoner at the Passover. So then, do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?”
40 UDB ସେଥିରେ ସେମାନେ ପୁନର୍ବାର ଚିତ୍କାର କରି କହିଲେ, ଏ ଲୋକଟାକୁ ନୁହେଁ, କିନ୍ତୁ ବାରବ୍ବାକୁ। ଏହି ବାରବ୍ବା ଜଣେ ଡକାଇତ ଥିଲା। BSB BSB: “Not this man,” they shouted, “but Barabbas!” (Now Barabbas was an insurrectionist.)
