14 ULB ଗାଦ୍ର ଏହି ସନ୍ତାନମାନେ ସେନାପତି ଥିଲେ, ଏମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଯେଉଁ ଜଣ କ୍ଷୁଦ୍ର, ସେ ଏକ ଶତ ଲୋକର ଓ ଯେ ମହାନ୍, ସେ ଏକ ସହସ୍ର ଲୋକର ସମାନ ଥିଲା। BSB BSB: These Gadites were army commanders, the least of whom was a match for a hundred, and the greatest for a thousand.

16 ULB ଆହୁରି ବିନ୍ୟାମୀନ୍ ଓ ଯିହୁଦା-ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ କେତେ ଲୋକ ଦୁର୍ଗ-ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସିଲେ। BSB BSB: Other Benjamites and some men from Judah also came to David in his stronghold.

18 ULB ସେତେବେଳେ ତିରିଶ ଜଣଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ପ୍ରଧାନ ଅମାସୟ ଉପରେ ଆତ୍ମା ଅଧିଷ୍ଠାନ କରନ୍ତେ, ସେ କହିଲା, “ହେ ଦାଉଦ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭର, ହେ ଯିଶୀର ପୁତ୍ର, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ପକ୍ଷ; ତୁମ୍ଭର ମଙ୍ଗଳ ହେଉ, ମଙ୍ଗଳ ହେଉ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ସାହାଯ୍ୟକାରୀମାନଙ୍କର ମଙ୍ଗଳ ହେଉ; କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ତୁମ୍ଭର ସାହାଯ୍ୟ କରନ୍ତି।” ତହୁଁ ଦାଉଦ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରି ସେନାଦଳ ଉପରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ସେନାପତି କଲେ। BSB BSB: Then the Spirit came upon Amasai, the chief of the Thirty, and he said: “We are yours, O David! We are with you, O son of Jesse! Peace, peace to you, and peace to your helpers, for your God helps you.” So David received them and made them leaders of his troops.
19 ULB ଦାଉଦ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଶାଉଲଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କରିବାକୁ ଆସିବା ବେଳେ ମନଃଶିୟମାନଙ୍କର କେତେକ ଲୋକ ମଧ୍ୟ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କର ପକ୍ଷ ହେଲେ, ମାତ୍ର ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଦେଇ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ସାହାଯ୍ୟ ନୋହିଲା; କାରଣ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ଅଧିପତିମାନେ ମନ୍ତ୍ରଣା କରି ତାଙ୍କୁ ବିଦାୟ ଦେଇ କହିଲେ, “ସେ ଆପଣା ପ୍ରଭୁ ଶାଉଲଙ୍କର ପକ୍ଷ ହୋଇ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ମସ୍ତକକୁ ସଙ୍କଟରେ ପକାଇବ।” BSB BSB: Some from Manasseh defected to David when he went with the Philistines to fight against Saul. (They did not help the Philistines because the Philistine rulers consulted and sent David away, saying, “It will cost us our heads if he defects to his master Saul.”)
20 ULB ଦାଉଦ ସିକ୍ଲଗ୍କୁ ଯିବା ବେଳେ ମନଃଶି ସମ୍ବନ୍ଧୀୟ ଅଦ୍ନହ, ଯୋଷାବଦ୍, ଯିଦୀୟେଲ, ମୀଖାୟେଲ, ଯୋଷାବଦ୍, ଇଲୀହୂ ଓ ସିଲ୍ଲଥୟ, ଏହି ମନଃଶି-ବଂଶୀୟ ସହସ୍ରପତିମାନେ ତାଙ୍କର ପକ୍ଷ ହେଲେ। BSB BSB: When David went to Ziklag, these men of Manasseh defected to him: Adnah, Jozabad, Jediael, Michael, Jozabad, Elihu, and Zillethai, chiefs of thousands in Manasseh.
21 ULB ଆଉ ସେମାନେ ଲୁଟକାରୀ ଦଳ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କର ସାହାଯ୍ୟ କଲେ; କାରଣ ସେମାନେ ସମସ୍ତେ ମହାବିକ୍ରମଶାଳୀ ପୁରୁଷ ଓ ସେନାପତି ଥିଲେ। BSB BSB: They helped David against the raiders, for they were all mighty men of valor and commanders in the army.
22 ULB ଦିନକୁ ଦିନ ଲୋକମାନେ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କୁ ସାହାଯ୍ୟ କରିବାକୁ ଆସିଲେ, ତହିଁରେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ସୈନ୍ୟ ତୁଲ୍ୟ ମହାସୈନ୍ୟ ହେଲା। BSB BSB: For at that time men came to David day after day to help him, until he had a great army, like the army of God.

And all the rest of the Israelites were of one mind to make David king.
39 ULB ଆଉ ସେମାନେ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗେ ତିନି ଦିନ ଭୋଜନପାନ କରି ସେଠାରେ ରହିଲେ; କାରଣ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଭ୍ରାତୃଗଣ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆୟୋଜନ କରିଥିଲେ। BSB BSB: They spent three days there eating and drinking with David, for their relatives had provided for them.
40 ULB ଆହୁରି ଇଷାଖର, ସବୂଲୂନ ଓ ନପ୍ତାଲି ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ଲୋକମାନେ ଗର୍ଦ୍ଦଭ, ଉଷ୍ଟ୍ର, ଖଚର ଓ ବଳଦ ପୃଷ୍ଠରେ ଖାଦ୍ୟ ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍, ସୂଜିର ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ, ଡିମ୍ବିରିଚକ୍ତି, ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାପେଣ୍ଡା, ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାରସ, ତୈଳ ଆଣିଲେ, ଆହୁରି ବଳଦ ଓ ମେଷ ବହୁଳ ରୂପେ ଆଣିଲେ; କାରଣ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଆନନ୍ଦ ହେଲା। BSB BSB: And their neighbors from as far away as Issachar, Zebulun, and Naphtali came bringing food on donkeys, camels, mules, and oxen—abundant supplies of flour, fig cakes and raisin cakes, wine and oil, oxen and sheep. Indeed, there was joy in Israel.
