1 ULB ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ସିଦିକୀୟଙ୍କ ରାଜତ୍ଵର ନବମ ବର୍ଷରେ, ଦଶମ ମାସର ଦଶମ ଦିନରେ ବାବିଲ ରାଜା ନବୂଖଦ୍ନିତ୍ସର ଓ ତାହାର ସମସ୍ତ ସୈନ୍ୟ ଯିରୂଶାଲମକୁ ଆସି ତହିଁ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଛାଉଣି କଲେ; ଆଉ ସେମାନେ ତହିଁର ଚତୁର୍ଦ୍ଦିଗରେ ଗଡ଼ ନିର୍ମାଣ କଲେ। BSB BSB: So in the ninth year of Zedekiah’s reign, on the tenth day of the tenth month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon marched against Jerusalem with his entire army. They encamped outside the city and built a siege wall all around it.
2 ULB ତହୁଁ ସିଦିକୀୟ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ରାଜତ୍ଵର ଏଗାର ବର୍ଷ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ନଗର ଅବରୁଦ୍ଧ ହୋଇ ରହିଲା। BSB BSB: And the city was kept under siege until King Zedekiah’s eleventh year.
3 ULB ଚତୁର୍ଥ ମାସର ନବମ ଦିନରେ ନଗରରେ ମହାଦୁର୍ଭିକ୍ଷ ହେଲା, ତହିଁରେ ଦେଶର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ କିଛି ଖାଦ୍ୟଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ ମିଳିଲା ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: By the ninth day of the fourth month, the famine in the city was so severe that the people of the land had no food.
4 ULB ତେବେ ନଗରର ଏକ ସ୍ଥାନ ଭଗ୍ନ ହୁଅନ୍ତେ, ସମସ୍ତ ଯୋଦ୍ଧା ଏକରାତ୍ରି ଭିତରେ ରାଜାଙ୍କର ଉଦ୍ୟାନ ନିକଟସ୍ଥ ଦୁଇ ପ୍ରାଚୀରର ମଧ୍ୟବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ଦ୍ୱାର ପଥ ଦେଇ ପଳାଇଲେ; ସେସମୟରେ କଲ୍ଦୀୟମାନେ ନଗରର ଚତୁର୍ଦ୍ଦିଗରେ ଥିଲେ, ପୁଣି ରାଜା ସିଦିକୀୟ ଆରବା ପଥଦେଇ ଚାଲିଗଲେ। BSB BSB: Then the city was breached; and though the Chaldeans had surrounded the city, all the men of war fled by night by way of the gate between the two walls near the king’s garden. They headed toward the Arabah,
5 ULB ମାତ୍ର କଲ୍ଦୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ସୈନ୍ୟ ରାଜା ସିଦିକୀୟଙ୍କର ପଛେ ପଛେ ଗୋଡ଼ାଇ ଯିରୀହୋ ପଦାରେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଧରିଲେ; ତହିଁରେ ସିଦିକୀୟଙ୍କର ସକଳ ସୈନ୍ୟ ତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟରୁ ଛିନ୍ନଭିନ୍ନ ହୋଇଗଲେ। BSB BSB: but the army of the Chaldeans pursued the king and overtook him in the plains of Jericho, and his whole army deserted him.
6 ULB ତହୁଁ ସେମାନେ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ଧରି ରିବ୍ଲାକୁ ବାବିଲ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ନେଇଗଲେ; ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ ତାଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଦଣ୍ଡାଜ୍ଞା କଲେ। BSB BSB: The Chaldeans seized the king and brought him up to the king of Babylon at Riblah, where they pronounced judgment on him.
7 ULB ଆଉ ସେମାନେ ସିଦିକୀୟଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ରମାନଙ୍କୁ ତାଙ୍କର ସାକ୍ଷାତରେ ବଧ କଲେ ଓ ସିଦିକୀୟଙ୍କର ଚକ୍ଷୁ ଉପାଡ଼ି ପକାଇଲେ, ଆଉ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଶୃଙ୍ଖଳରେ ବଦ୍ଧ କରି ବାବିଲକୁ ନେଇଗଲେ। BSB BSB: And they slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes. Then they put out his eyes, bound him with bronze shackles, and took him to Babylon.
9 ULB ପୁଣି ସେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଗୃହ ଓ ରାଜଗୃହ ଦଗ୍ଧ କଲା; ଆଉ ଯିରୂଶାଲମର ସମସ୍ତ ଗୃହ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍, ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ବୃହତ ଗୃହ ଅଗ୍ନିରେ ଦଗ୍ଧ କଲା। BSB BSB: He burned down the house of the LORD, the royal palace, and all the houses of Jerusalem—every significant building.
10 ULB ପୁଣି ପ୍ରହରୀବର୍ଗର ସେନାପତି ସଙ୍ଗେ ଥିବା କଲ୍ଦୀୟ ସମସ୍ତ ସୈନ୍ୟ ଯିରୂଶାଲମର ଚତୁର୍ଦ୍ଦିଗର ପ୍ରାଚୀର ଭଗ୍ନ କଲେ। BSB BSB: And the whole army of the Chaldeans under the captain of the guard broke down the walls around Jerusalem.
11 ULB ଆଉ ପ୍ରହରୀବର୍ଗର ସେନାପତି ନବୂଷରଦନ୍ ନଗରର ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓ ବାବିଲ ରାଜାର ପକ୍ଷକୁ ପଳାୟନକାରୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ସାଧାରଣ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ବନ୍ଦୀ କରି ନେଇଗଲା। BSB BSB: Then Nebuzaradan captain of the guard carried into exile the people who remained in the city, along with the deserters who had defected to the king of Babylon and the rest of the population.
12 ULB ମାତ୍ର ପ୍ରହରୀବର୍ଗର ସେନାପତି ଦେଶର ନିତାନ୍ତ ଦରିଦ୍ରମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ କେତେକଙ୍କୁ ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାକ୍ଷେତ୍ରର କର୍ମକାରୀ ଓ କୃଷକ ହେବା ପାଇଁ ଛାଡ଼ି ଗଲା। BSB BSB: But the captain of the guard left behind some of the poorest of the land to tend the vineyards and fields.
13 ULB ଆହୁରି କଲ୍ଦୀୟମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଗୃହର ପିତ୍ତଳସ୍ତମ୍ଭ ଓ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଗୃହର ବୈଠିକିସକଳ ଓ ପିତ୍ତଳମୟ ସମୁଦ୍ର ରୂପ ପାତ୍ର ଖଣ୍ଡ ଖଣ୍ଡ କରି ଭାଙ୍ଗି ତହିଁର ପିତ୍ତଳ ବାବିଲକୁ ନେଇଗଲେ। BSB BSB: Moreover, the Chaldeans broke up the bronze pillars and stands and the bronze Sea in the house of the LORD, and they carried the bronze to Babylon.
14 ULB ଆହୁରି ସେମାନେ ପାତ୍ର ଓ କରଚୁଲି ଓ କତୁରୀ ଓ ଚମସ ଓ ପରିଚର୍ଯ୍ୟାର୍ଥକ ସକଳ ପିତ୍ତଳମୟ ପାତ୍ର ନେଇଗଲେ। BSB BSB: They also took away the pots, shovels, wick trimmers, dishes, and all the articles of bronze used in the temple service.
15 ULB ଆଉ ପ୍ରହରୀବର୍ଗର ସେନାପତି ଅଙ୍ଗାରଧାନୀ ଓ କୁଣ୍ଡସବୁ, ଯାହା ସୁନାର ଥିଲା, ତାହା ସୁନା କରି, ପୁଣି ଯାହା ରୂପାର ଥିଲା, ତାହା ରୂପା କରି ନେଇଗଲା। BSB BSB: The captain of the guard also took away the censers and sprinkling bowls—anything made of pure gold or fine silver.
16 ULB ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଗୃହ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଶଲୋମନଙ୍କ ନିର୍ମିତ ଦୁଇ ସ୍ତମ୍ଭ, ଏକ ସମୁଦ୍ର ରୂପ ପାତ୍ର ଓ ବୈଠିକିସକଳ, ଏହିସବୁ ପାତ୍ରର ପିତ୍ତଳ ଅପରିମିତ ଥିଲା। BSB BSB: As for the two pillars, the Sea, and the movable stands that Solomon had made for the house of the LORD, the weight of the bronze from all these articles was beyond measure.
17 ULB ଏକ ସ୍ତମ୍ଭ ଅଠର ହାତ ଉଚ୍ଚ ଓ ତହିଁ ଉପରେ ପିତ୍ତଳର ମୁଣ୍ଡାଳି ଥିଲା, ଆଉ ମୁଣ୍ଡାଳିର ଉଚ୍ଚ ତିନି ହାତ ମୁଣ୍ଡାଳି ଉପରେ ଚତୁର୍ଦ୍ଦିଗରେ ପିତ୍ତଳମୟ ଜାଲିକର୍ମ ଓ ଡାଳିମ୍ବାକୃତି ଥିଲା, ମଧ୍ୟ ଦ୍ୱିତୀୟ ସ୍ତମ୍ଭ ଜାଲିକର୍ମ ସହିତ ଏହି ପ୍ରକାର ଥିଲା। BSB BSB: Each pillar was eighteen cubits tall. The bronze capital atop one pillar was three cubits high, with a network of bronze pomegranates all around. The second pillar, with its network, was similar.
18 ULB ପୁଣି ପ୍ରହରୀବର୍ଗର ସେନାପତି ନବୂଷରଦନ୍ ପ୍ରଧାନ ଯାଜକ ସରାୟଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଦ୍ୱିତୀୟ ଯାଜକ ସଫନୀୟଙ୍କୁ ଓ ତିନି ଜଣ ଦ୍ୱାରପାଳଙ୍କୁ ଧରିଲା। BSB BSB: The captain of the guard also took away Seraiah the chief priest, Zephaniah the priest of second rank, and the three doorkeepers.
19 ULB ଆଉ ନବୂଷରଦନ୍ ନଗରରୁ ଯୋଦ୍ଧାମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ନିଯୁକ୍ତ ଏକ ନପୁଂସକକୁ ଓ ନଗରରେ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ରାଜମୁଖ ଦର୍ଶନକାରୀମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ପାଞ୍ଚ ଜଣଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଦେଶର ଲୋକଗଣନାକାରୀ ଲେଖକ ସେନାପତିକୁ ଓ ନଗରରେ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ଦେଶୀୟ ଷାଠିଏ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଧରିଲା। BSB BSB: Of those still in the city, he took a court official who had been appointed over the men of war, as well as five royal advisors. He also took the scribe of the captain of the army, who had enlisted the people of the land, and sixty men who were found in the city.
20 ULB ପୁଣି ପ୍ରହରୀବର୍ଗର ସେନାପତି ନବୂଷରଦନ୍ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଧରି ରିବ୍ଲାକୁ ବାବିଲ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ନେଇଗଲା। BSB BSB: Nebuzaradan captain of the guard took them and brought them to the king of Babylon at Riblah.
21 ULB ତହିଁରେ ବାବିଲ ରାଜା ହମାତ ଦେଶସ୍ଥ ରିବ୍ଲାରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଘାତ କରି ବଧ କଲା। ଏହିରୂପେ ଯିହୁଦା ଆପଣା ଦେଶରୁ ବନ୍ଦୀ ହୋଇ ନୀତ ହେଲା। BSB BSB: There at Riblah in the land of Hamath, the king of Babylon struck them down and put them to death. So Judah was taken into exile, away from its own land.
22 ULB ଆଉ ବାବିଲ ରାଜା ନବୂଖଦ୍ନିତ୍ସର ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କୁ ଛାଡ଼ି ଯାଇଥିଲା, ଏପରି ଯିହୁଦା ଦେଶରେ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ଥିବା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ସେ ଶାଫନ୍ର ପୌତ୍ର ଅହୀକାମ୍ର ପୁତ୍ର ଗଦଲୀୟଙ୍କୁ ଶାସନକର୍ତ୍ତା ରୂପେ ନିଯୁକ୍ତ କଲା। BSB BSB: Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, over the people he had left behind in the land of Judah.
23 ULB ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ବାବିଲ ରାଜା ଗଦଲୀୟଙ୍କୁ ଶାସନକର୍ତ୍ତା କରିଅଛି ବୋଲି ଶୁଣି ସେନାପତିଗଣ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଲୋକମାନେ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍, ନଥନୀୟର ପୁତ୍ର ଇଶ୍ମାୟେଲ ଓ କାରେହର ପୁତ୍ର ଯୋହାନନ୍ ଓ ନଟୋଫାତୀୟ ତନ୍ହୂମତର ପୁତ୍ର ସରାୟ ଓ ମାଖାଥୀୟର ପୁତ୍ର ଯାସନୀୟ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଲୋକମାନେ ମିସ୍ପାକୁ ଗଦଲୀୟଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସିଲେ। BSB BSB: When all the commanders of the armies and their men heard that the king of Babylon had appointed Gedaliah as governor, they came to Gedaliah at Mizpah—Ishmael son of Nethaniah, Johanan son of Kareah, Seraiah son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah son of the Maacathite, as well as their men.
24 ULB ଏଥିରେ ଗଦଲୀୟ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଶପଥ କରି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, “କଲ୍ଦୀୟମାନଙ୍କର ଦାସମାନଙ୍କ ସକାଶୁ ଭୀତ ହୁଅ ନାହିଁ; ଦେଶରେ ବାସ କରି ବାବିଲ ରାଜାର ସେବା କର, ତହିଁରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ମଙ୍ଗଳ ହେବ।” BSB BSB: And Gedaliah took an oath before them and their men, assuring them, “Do not be afraid of the servants of the Chaldeans. Live in the land and serve the king of Babylon, and it will be well with you.”
25 ULB ମାତ୍ର ସପ୍ତମ ମାସରେ ରାଜବଂଶଜାତ ଇଲୀଶାମାର ପୌତ୍ର ନଥନୀୟର ପୁତ୍ର ଇଶ୍ମାୟେଲ ଓ ତାହାର ସଙ୍ଗୀ ଦଶ ଜଣ ଆସିଲେ, ଆଉ ଗଦଲୀୟଙ୍କୁ, ପୁଣି ଯେଉଁ ଯିହୁଦୀୟମାନେ ଓ କଲ୍ଦୀୟମାନେ ତାହା ସଙ୍ଗେ ମିସ୍ପାରେ ଥିଲେ, ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଘାତ କରି ବଧ କଲେ। BSB BSB: In the seventh month, however, Ishmael son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, who was a member of the royal family, came with ten men and struck down and killed Gedaliah, along with the Judeans and Chaldeans who were with him at Mizpah.
26 ULB ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ସାନ ବଡ଼ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକ ଓ ସେନାପତିଗଣ ଉଠି ମିସରକୁ ଗଲେ; କାରଣ ସେମାନେ କଲ୍ଦୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ଲାଗି ଭୀତ ହେଲେ। BSB BSB: Then all the people small and great, together with the commanders of the army, arose and fled to Egypt for fear of the Chaldeans.
28 ULB ଆଉ, ସେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରୀତିବାକ୍ୟ କହିଲା ଓ ତାଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗେ ବାବିଲରେ ଥିବା ରାଜାମାନଙ୍କ ଆସନଠାରୁ ତାଙ୍କର ଆସନ ଉଚ୍ଚରେ ସ୍ଥାପନ କଲା। BSB BSB: And he spoke kindly to Jehoiachin and set his throne above the thrones of the other kings who were with him in Babylon.
29 ULB ଆଉ, ସେ ଆପଣା କାରାଗାରର ବସ୍ତ୍ର ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନ କରି ଆପଣାର ଯାବଜ୍ଜୀବନ ନିତ୍ୟ ନିତ୍ୟ ତାହା ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଭୋଜନ କଲେ। BSB BSB: So Jehoiachin changed out of his prison clothes, and he dined regularly at the king’s table for the rest of his life.
30 ULB ପୁଣି, ତାଙ୍କର ଦିନାତିପାତ ନିମନ୍ତେ ରାଜାଙ୍କଠାରୁ ନିତ୍ୟ ବୃତ୍ତି ଦିଆଗଲା, ସେ ଆପଣା ଜୀବନର ସମସ୍ତ କାଳ ପ୍ରତି ଦିନ ଏକ ନିରୂପିତ ଅଂଶ ପାଇଲେ। BSB BSB: And the king provided Jehoiachin a daily portion for the rest of his life.
