1 ULB ସେତେବେଳେ ଇଲୀଶାୟ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବାକ୍ୟ ଶୁଣ; ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, ‘କାଲି ପ୍ରାୟ ଏହି ସମୟକୁ ଶମରୀୟାର ନଗର ଦ୍ୱାରରେ ଏକ ପସୁରୀ ସରୁ ମଇଦା ଏକ ଶେକଲରେ ଓ ଦୁଇ ପସୁରୀ ଯବ ଏକ ଶେକଲରେ ବିକ୍ରୟ କରାଯିବ।’” BSB BSB: Then Elisha said, “Hear the word of the LORD! This is what the LORD says: ‘About this time tomorrow at the gate of Samaria, a seah of fine flour will sell for a shekel, and two seahs of barley will sell for a shekel.’”
2 ULB ସେତେବେଳେ ରାଜା ଯେଉଁ ସେନାପତି ହସ୍ତରେ ନିର୍ଭର କରିଥିଲେ, ସେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ତର କରି କହିଲା, “ଦେଖ, ଯେବେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆକାଶରେ ଦ୍ୱାର କରନ୍ତି, ତେବେ ହେଁ କ’ଣ ଏ କଥା ହୋଇ ପାରିବ?” ତହିଁରେ ଇଲୀଶାୟ କହିଲେ, “ଦେଖ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସ୍ୱଚକ୍ଷୁରେ ତାହା ଦେଖିବ, ମାତ୍ର ତହିଁରୁ ଭୋଜନ କରିବ ନାହିଁ।” BSB BSB: But the officer on whose arm the king leaned answered the man of God, “Look, even if the LORD were to make windows in heaven, could this really happen?” “You will see it with your own eyes,” replied Elisha, “but you will not eat any of it.”
3 ULB ସେହି ସମୟରେ ନଗର ଦ୍ୱାରର ପ୍ରବେଶ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଚାରି ଜଣ କୁଷ୍ଠୀ ଥିଲେ; ଆଉ ସେମାନେ ପରସ୍ପର କହିଲେ, “ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମରିବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ କାହିଁକି ଏଠାରେ ବସିଅଛୁ? BSB BSB: Now there were four men with leprosy at the entrance of the city gate, and they said to one another, “Why just sit here until we die?
4 ULB ଯଦି କହୁ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ନଗରରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରିବା, ତେବେ ନଗରରେ ଦୁର୍ଭିକ୍ଷ ଅଛି, ପୁଣି ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସେଠାରେ ମରିବା; ଆଉ ଯଦି ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏଠାରେ ବସି ରହିବା, ତେବେ ମଧ୍ୟ ମରିବା। ଏହେତୁ ଆସ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଅରାମୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ସୈନ୍ୟର ପକ୍ଷକୁ ଯାଉ; ଯଦି ସେମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ବଞ୍ଚାଇ ରଖିବେ, ତେବେ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ବଞ୍ଚିବା; ଆଉ ଯଦି ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ମାରି ପକାଇବେ, ତେବେ ମରିବା।” BSB BSB: If we say, ‘Let us go into the city,’ we will die there from the famine in the city; but if we sit here, we will also die. So come now, let us go over to the camp of the Arameans. If they let us live, we will live; if they kill us, we will die.”
5 ULB ଏଣୁ କୁଷ୍ଠୀମାନେ ଅରାମୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ଛାଉଣିକୁ ଯିବା ପାଇଁ ଗୋଧୂଳି ସମୟରେ ଉଠିଲେ; ଆଉ ସେମାନେ ଅରାମୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ଛାଉଣିର ବାହାର ସୀମାରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେବା ବେଳେ, ଦେଖ, ସେଠାରେ କୌଣସି ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ନ ଥିଲେ। BSB BSB: So they arose at twilight and went to the camp of the Arameans. But when they came to the outskirts of the camp, there was not a man to be found.
6 ULB କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଅରାମୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ସୈନ୍ୟଗଣକୁ ରଥ ଶବ୍ଦ ଓ ଅଶ୍ୱ ଶବ୍ଦ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍, ମହାସୈନ୍ୟ ଶବ୍ଦ ଶୁଣାଇଥିଲେ; ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ ପରସ୍ପର କହିଲେ, “ଦେଖ, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ରାଜା ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆକ୍ରମଣ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ହିତ୍ତୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ରାଜାଗଣକୁ ଓ ମିସ୍ରୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ରାଜାଗଣକୁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତିକୂଳରେ ବେତନ ଦେଇ ନିଯୁକ୍ତ କରିଅଛି।” BSB BSB: For the Lord had caused the Arameans to hear the sound of chariots, horses, and a great army, so that they said to one another, “Look, the king of Israel must have hired the kings of the Hittites and Egyptians to attack us.”
7 ULB ଏହେତୁ ଅରାମୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ସୈନ୍ୟଗଣ ଉଠି ଗୋଧୂଳି ସମୟରେ ପଳାଇଲେ, ଆଉ ସେମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ତମ୍ବୁ ଓ ଅଶ୍ୱ ଓ ଗର୍ଦ୍ଦଭ ଓ ଛାଉଣି ଯେପରି ଥିଲା, ସେପରି ଛାଡ଼ି ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରାଣରକ୍ଷାର୍ଥେ ପଳାଇଲେ। BSB BSB: Thus the Arameans had arisen and fled at twilight, abandoning their tents and horses and donkeys. The camp was intact, and they had run for their lives.
8 ULB ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ସେହି କୁଷ୍ଠୀମାନେ ଛାଉଣିର ବାହାର ସୀମାକୁ ଆସି ଗୋଟିଏ ତମ୍ବୁ ଭିତରକୁ ଯାଇ ଭୋଜନପାନ କଲେ, ପୁଣି ତହିଁରୁ ରୂପା ଓ ସୁନା ଓ ବସ୍ତ୍ର ନେଇ ଲୁଚାଇ ରଖିଲେ; ତହୁଁ ସେମାନେ ପୁନର୍ବାର ଆସି ଆଉ ଏକ ତମ୍ବୁ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କଲେ ଓ ତହିଁରୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟାଦି ନେଇ ଯାଇ ଲୁଚାଇ ରଖିଲେ। BSB BSB: When the lepers reached the edge of the camp, they went into a tent to eat and drink. Then they carried off the silver, gold, and clothing, and went and hid them. On returning, they entered another tent, carried off some items from there, and hid them.
9 ULB ତେବେ ସେମାନେ ପରସ୍ପର କହିଲେ, “ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଭଲ କରୁନାହୁଁ; ଆଜି ସୁସମ୍ବାଦର ଦିନ, ମାତ୍ର ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତୁନି ହୋଇ ରହୁଅଛୁ; ଯେବେ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପ୍ରଭାତ ଆଲୁଅ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ବିଳମ୍ବ କରୁ, ତେବେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦଣ୍ଡ ଘଟିବ; ଏହେତୁ ଏବେ ଆସ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯାଇ ରାଜଗୃହରେ ସମ୍ବାଦ ଦେଉ।” BSB BSB: Finally, they said to one another, “We are not doing what is right. Today is a day of good news. If we are silent and wait until morning light, our sin will overtake us. Now, therefore, let us go and tell the king’s household.”
10 ULB ତହୁଁ ସେମାନେ ଆସି ନଗରର ଦ୍ୱାରୀକୁ ଡାକିଲେ; ଆଉ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଜଣାଇ କହିଲେ, “ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଅରାମୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ଛାଉଣିକୁ ଯାଇଥିଲୁ, ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ସେଠାରେ କୌଣସି ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ନାହିଁ; କି ମନୁଷ୍ୟର ଶବ୍ଦ ନାହିଁ, ମାତ୍ର ଅଶ୍ୱ ଓ ଗର୍ଦ୍ଦଭଗଣ ବନ୍ଧା ହୋଇଅଛନ୍ତି, ଆଉ ତମ୍ବୁସବୁ ଯେପରି ଥିଲା, ସେପରି ଅଛି।” BSB BSB: So they went and called out to the gatekeepers of the city, saying, “We went to the Aramean camp and no one was there—not a trace—only tethered horses and donkeys, and the tents were intact.”
11 ULB ତହୁଁ ସେ ଦ୍ୱାରୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ଡାକନ୍ତେ, ସେମାନେ ରାଜଗୃହ ଭିତରେ ସମ୍ବାଦ ଦେଲେ। BSB BSB: The gatekeepers shouted the news, and it was reported to the king’s household.
12 ULB ତହିଁରେ ରାଜା ରାତ୍ରିରେ ଉଠି ଆପଣା ଦାସମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଅରାମୀୟମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଯାହା କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, ତାହା ମୁଁ ଏବେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ପ୍ରକାଶ କରିବି। ସେମାନେ ଜାଣନ୍ତି ଯେ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ କ୍ଷୁଧାର୍ତ୍ତ ଅଛୁ; ଏହେତୁ ସେମାନେ ଛାଉଣିରୁ ବାହାରି ଯାଇ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କୁ କ୍ଷେତ୍ରରେ ଲୁଚାଇ କହୁଛନ୍ତି, ସେମାନେ ନଗରରୁ ବାହାରିଲେ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଜୀଅନ୍ତା ଧରି ନଗରରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରିବା।” BSB BSB: So the king got up in the night and said to his servants, “Let me tell you what the Arameans have done to us. They know we are starving, so they have left the camp to hide in the field, thinking, ‘When they come out of the city, we will take them alive and enter the city.’”
13 ULB ତହିଁରେ ତାହାର ଦାସମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଜଣେ ଉତ୍ତର କରି କହିଲା, “ମୁଁ ବିନୟ କରୁଅଛି, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ କେତେକ ଲୋକ ପଠାଇ ଦେଖୁ, ସେମାନେ ନଗରରେ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ଅଶ୍ୱମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ପାଞ୍ଚୋଟି ନେଇ ଯାଉନ୍ତୁ, ଦେଖନ୍ତୁ, ସେମାନେ ନଗରରେ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ସମସ୍ତ ଜନତା ସମାନ; ଦେଖନ୍ତୁ, ସେମାନେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ସମସ୍ତ ନଷ୍ଟକଳ୍ପ ଜନତା ସମାନ।” BSB BSB: But one of his servants replied, “Please, have scouts take five of the horses that remain in the city. Their plight will be no worse than all the Israelites who are left here. You can see that all the Israelites here are doomed. So let us send them and find out.”
14 ULB ଏହେତୁ ସେହି ଲୋକମାନେ ଅଶ୍ୱ ସହିତ ଦୁଇ ରଥ ନେଲେ ଓ ରାଜା ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଅରାମୀୟ ସୈନ୍ୟ ପଛେ ପଠାଇ କହିଲେ, “ଯାଇ ଦେଖ।” BSB BSB: Then the scouts took two chariots with horses, and the king sent them after the Aramean army, saying, “Go and see.”
15 ULB ତହୁଁ ସେମାନେ ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପଛେ ପଛେ ଗଲେ; ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ଅରାମୀୟମାନେ ତରତର ହୋଇ ଯାହା ପକାଇ ଦେଇ ଯାଇଥିଲେ, ଏପରି ବସ୍ତ୍ର ଓ ପାତ୍ରାଦିରେ ସମସ୍ତ ପଥ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଥିଲା। ତେବେ ସେ ଦୂତମାନେ ଫେରି ଆସି ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ସମ୍ବାଦ ଦେଲେ। BSB BSB: And they tracked them as far as the Jordan, and indeed, the whole way was littered with the clothing and equipment the Arameans had thrown off in haste. So the scouts returned and told the king.
16 ULB ତହିଁରେ ଲୋକମାନେ ବାହାରକୁ ଯାଇ ଅରାମୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ଛାଉଣି ଲୁଟ କଲେ। ତେଣୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବାକ୍ୟାନୁସାରେ ଏକ ପସୁରୀ ସରୁ ମଇଦା ଏକ ଶେକଲରେ ଓ ଦୁଇ ପସୁରୀ ଯବ ଏକ ଶେକଲରେ ବିକ୍ରୟ କରାଗଲା। BSB BSB: Then the people went out and plundered the camp of the Arameans. It was then that a seah of fine flour sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley sold for a shekel, according to the word of the LORD.
17 ULB ସେତେବେଳେ ରାଜା ଯେଉଁ ସେନାପତି ହସ୍ତରେ ନିର୍ଭର କରିଥିଲେ, ତାହାକୁ ନଗର ଦ୍ୱାର ରକ୍ଷା କରିବା ପାଇଁ ନିଯୁକ୍ତ କଲେ; ଏଥିରେ ଲୋକମାନେ ନଗର ଦ୍ୱାରରେ ତାହାକୁ ଦଳି ପକାଇଲେ, ତହିଁରେ ରାଜା ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଯିବା ବେଳେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଲୋକ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଯେପରି କହିଥିଲେ, ତଦନୁସାରେ ସେ ମଲା। BSB BSB: Now the king had appointed the officer on whose arm he leaned to be in charge of the gate, but the people trampled him in the gateway, and he died, just as the man of God had foretold when the king had come to him.
18 ULB ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଲୋକ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ଏହି କଥା କହିଥିଲେ, “କାଲି ପ୍ରାୟ ଏହି ସମୟକୁ ଶମରୀୟାର ନଗର ଦ୍ୱାରରେ ଦୁଇ ପସୁରୀ ଯବ ଏକ ଶେକଲ ଓ ଏକ ପସୁରୀ ସରୁ ମଇଦା ଏକ ଶେକଲ ହେବ।” BSB BSB: It happened just as the man of God had told the king: “About this time tomorrow at the gate of Samaria, two seahs of barley will sell for a shekel, and a seah of fine flour will sell for a shekel.”
19 ULB ଆଉ ସେହି ସେନାପତି ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ତର କରି କହିଥିଲା, “ଦେଖ, ଯେବେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆକାଶରେ ଦ୍ୱାର କରନ୍ତି, ତେବେ ହେଁ କ’ଣ ଏପରି କଥା ହୋଇ ପାରିବ।” ତହିଁରେ ଇଲୀଶାୟ କହିଥିଲେ, “ଦେଖ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସ୍ୱଚକ୍ଷୁରେ ତାହା ଦେଖିବ, ମାତ୍ର ତହିଁରୁ ଭୋଜନ କରିବ ନାହିଁ।” BSB BSB: And the officer had answered the man of God, “Look, even if the LORD were to make windows in heaven, could this really happen?” So Elisha had replied, “You will see it with your own eyes, but you will not eat any of it!”
20 ULB ସେହିପରି ତାହା ପ୍ରତି ଘଟିଲା; କାରଣ ଲୋକମାନେ ନଗର ଦ୍ୱାରରେ ତାହାକୁ ଦଳି ପକାନ୍ତେ, ସେ ମଲା। BSB BSB: And that is just what happened to him. The people trampled him in the gateway, and he died.
