1 ULB ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କର ଦେଶ ଦେବେ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ସେହି ଦେଶୀୟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନ କଲେ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଅଧିକାର କରି ସେମାନଙ୍କ ନଗରରେ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଗୃହରେ ବାସ କଲେ, BSB BSB: When the LORD your God has cut off the nations whose land He is giving you, and when you have driven them out and settled in their cities and houses,
2 ULB ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ତୁମ୍ଭର ଅଧିକାରାର୍ଥେ ଯେଉଁ ଦେଶ ଦିଅନ୍ତି, ତୁମ୍ଭର ସେହି ଦେଶ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ପାଇଁ ତିନୋଟି ନଗର ପୃଥକ୍ କରିବ। BSB BSB: then you are to set apart for yourselves three cities within the land that the LORD your God is giving you to possess.
3 ULB ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ପାଇଁ ପଥ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରିବ ଓ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଯେଉଁ ଦେଶ ଅଧିକାର କରାଇବେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେହି ଦେଶର ଭୂମି ତିନି ଭାଗ କରିବ, ତହିଁରେ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀ ସେଠାକୁ ପଳାଇ ଯାଇ ପାରିବ। BSB BSB: You are to build roads for yourselves and divide into three regions the land that the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, so that any manslayer can flee to these cities.
4 ULB ଯେଉଁ ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀ ସେହି ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ପଳାଇ ବଞ୍ଚିପାରେ, ତାହାର କଥା ଏହି କେହି ଯେବେ ପୂର୍ବେ ହିଂସା ନ କରି ଆପଣା ପ୍ରତିବାସୀକୁ ଅଜ୍ଞାତସାରରେ ବଧ କରେ; BSB BSB: Now this is the situation regarding the manslayer who flees to one of these cities to save his life, having killed his neighbor accidentally, without intending to harm him:
5 ULB ଯଥା, କେହି ଆପଣା ପ୍ରତିବାସୀ ସଙ୍ଗରେ କାଠ ହାଣିବାକୁ ବନକୁ ଗଲା, ପୁଣି ଗଛ ହାଣିବା ପାଇଁ ତାହାର ହସ୍ତ କୁହ୍ରାଡ଼ି ଉଞ୍ଚାନ୍ତେ, କୁହ୍ରାଡ଼ି-ମୁଣ୍ଡ ବେଣ୍ଟରୁ ଖସି ପ୍ରତିବାସୀ ଉପରେ ପଡ଼ିଲା, ତହିଁରେ ସେ ମଲା; ଏପରି ଲୋକ ସେହି ନଗରମାନ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଏକ ନଗରକୁ ପଳାଇ ବଞ୍ଚିବ। BSB BSB: If he goes into the forest with his neighbor to cut timber and swings his axe to chop down a tree, but the blade flies off the handle and strikes and kills his neighbor, he may flee to one of these cities to save his life.
6 ULB ନୋହିଲେ ରକ୍ତର ପ୍ରତିହନ୍ତା ତପ୍ତଚିତ୍ତ ହୋଇ ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀର ପଛେ ଗୋଡ଼ାଇ ଦୂର ପଥ ସକାଶୁ ତାହାକୁ ଧରି ପ୍ରାଣରେ ମାରି ପକାଇବ; ମାତ୍ର ସେ ଲୋକ ପ୍ରାଣଦଣ୍ଡ ଯୋଗ୍ୟ ନୁହେଁ, କାରଣ ସେ ପୂର୍ବେ ତାହାକୁ ହିଂସା କରି ନ ଥିଲା। BSB BSB: Otherwise, the avenger of blood might pursue the manslayer in a rage, overtake him if the distance is great, and strike him dead though he did not deserve to die, since he did not intend any harm.
7 ULB ଏନିମନ୍ତେ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଆପଣା ନିମନ୍ତେ ତିନୋଟି ନଗର ପୃଥକ କରିବାକୁ କହି ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦେଉଅଛି। BSB BSB: This is why I am commanding you to set apart for yourselves three cities.
8 ULB ଆଉ ମୁଁ ଆଜି ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଯେଉଁ ଯେଉଁ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦେଉଅଛି, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାହା ସବୁ ପାଳନ କରି ଯାବଜ୍ଜୀବନ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆପଣା ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରେମ କଲେ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପଥରେ ଚାଲିଲେ, BSB BSB: And if the LORD your God enlarges your territory, as He swore to your fathers, and gives you all the land He promised them,
9 ULB ଯେବେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ତୁମ୍ଭ ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଆପଣା ଶପଥ ଅନୁସାରେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ସୀମା ବୃଦ୍ଧି କରନ୍ତି ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞାତ ସମସ୍ତ ଦେଶ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଦିଅନ୍ତି; ତେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେହି ତିନି ନଗର ବ୍ୟତୀତ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପାଇଁ ଆଉ ତିନୋଟି ନଗର ନିରୂପଣ କରିବ; BSB BSB: and if you carefully keep all these commandments I am giving you today, loving the LORD your God and walking in His ways at all times, then you are to add three more cities to these three.
10 ULB ନୋହିଲେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଯେଉଁ ଦେଶ ଅଧିକାରାର୍ଥେ ଦିଅନ୍ତି, ତହିଁ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦୋଷର ରକ୍ତପାତ ହେବ, ତହୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଉପରେ ରକ୍ତପାତର ଅପରାଧ ବର୍ତ୍ତିବ। BSB BSB: Thus innocent blood will not be shed in the land that the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, so that you will not be guilty of bloodshed.
11 ULB ମାତ୍ର କେହି ଯେବେ ଆପଣା ପ୍ରତିବାସୀକୁ ହିଂସା କରି ତାହା ପାଇଁ ଛକି ବସେ ଓ ତାହାର ପ୍ରତିକୂଳରେ ଉଠି ତାହାକୁ ପ୍ରାଣରେ ମାରେ ଓ ସେ ମରନ୍ତେ, ଏହି ନଗରମାନ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ କୌଣସି ଏକ ନଗରକୁ ପଳାଏ; BSB BSB: If, however, a man hates his neighbor and lies in wait, attacks him and kills him, and then flees to one of these cities,
12 ULB ତେବେ ତାହାର ନଗରସ୍ଥ ପ୍ରାଚୀନମାନେ ଲୋକ ପଠାଇ ସେସ୍ଥାନରୁ ତାହାକୁ ଅଣାଇବେ ଓ ତାହାକୁ ବଧ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ରକ୍ତର ପ୍ରତିହନ୍ତା ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କରିବେ। BSB BSB: the elders of his city must send for him, bring him back, and hand him over to the avenger of blood to die.
13 ULB ତୁମ୍ଭର ଚକ୍ଷୁ ତାହାକୁ ଦୟା କରିବ ନାହିଁ, ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦୋଷ ରକ୍ତପାତର ଅପରାଧ ଦୂର କରିବ, ତହିଁରେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ମଙ୍ଗଳ ହେବ। BSB BSB: You must show him no pity. You are to purge from Israel the guilt of shedding innocent blood, that it may go well with you.
14 ULB ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଅଧିକାରାର୍ଥେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଯେଉଁ ଦେଶ ଦେବେ, ସେହି ଦେଶରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯାହା ଅଧିକାର କରିବ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ସେହି ଅଧିକାରରେ ପୂର୍ବ କାଳର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ସ୍ଥାପିତ ତୁମ୍ଭ ସୀମାର ଚିହ୍ନ ଘୁଞ୍ଚାଇବ ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: You must not move your neighbor’s boundary marker, which was set up by your ancestors to mark the inheritance you shall receive in the land that the LORD your God is giving you to possess.
15 ULB ମନୁଷ୍ୟ କୌଣସି ଅପରାଧ କି କୌଣସି ପାପ କଲେ, ତାହାର କୃତ ସେହି ପାପ ଲାଗି ଏକ ସାକ୍ଷୀ ତାହାର ପ୍ରତିକୂଳରେ ଉଠିବ ନାହିଁ; ଦୁଇ ସାକ୍ଷୀଙ୍କ ମୁଖ ଦ୍ୱାରା କିଅବା ତିନି ସାକ୍ଷୀଙ୍କ ମୁଖ ଦ୍ୱାରା ବିଚାର ନିଷ୍ପନ୍ନ ହେବ। BSB BSB: A lone witness is not sufficient to establish any wrongdoing or sin against a man, regardless of what offense he may have committed. A matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.
16 ULB ଯେବେ ଅଧର୍ମୀ ସାକ୍ଷୀ କାହାରି ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଉଠି ଅବିଧି କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ବିଷୟରେ ସାକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ଦିଏ, BSB BSB: If a false witness testifies against someone, accusing him of a crime,
17 ULB ତେବେ ଯେଉଁ ଦୁଇ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ମଧ୍ୟରେ ବିରୋଧ ଥାଏ, ସେ ଦୁହେଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ସେହି ସମୟର ଯାଜକ ଓ ବିଚାରକର୍ତ୍ତାମାନଙ୍କ ଆଗରେ ଠିଆ ହେବେ। BSB BSB: both parties to the dispute must stand in the presence of the LORD, before the priests and judges who are in office at that time.
19 ULB ତେବେ ସେ ଆପଣା ଭାଇ ପ୍ରତି ଯେପରି କରିବାକୁ କଳ୍ପନା କରିଥିଲା, ତାହା ପ୍ରତି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସେହିପରି କରିବ; ଏହିରୂପେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଦୁଷ୍ଟତା ଦୂର କରିବ। BSB BSB: you must do to him as he intended to do to his brother. So you must purge the evil from among you.
20 ULB ପୁଣି ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକମାନେ ତାହା ଶୁଣି ଭୟ କରିବେ ଓ ସେହି ସମୟାବଧି ତୁମ୍ଭ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଆଉ ସେରୂପ ମନ୍ଦ କର୍ମ କରିବେ ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: Then the rest of the people will hear and be afraid, and they will never again do anything so evil among you.
21 ULB ତୁମ୍ଭର ଚକ୍ଷୁ ଦୟା କରିବ ନାହିଁ; ପ୍ରାଣ ପରିଶୋଧରେ ପ୍ରାଣ, ଚକ୍ଷୁ ପରିଶୋଧରେ ଚକ୍ଷୁ, ଦନ୍ତ ପରିଶୋଧରେ ଦନ୍ତ, ହସ୍ତ ପରିଶୋଧରେ ହସ୍ତ, ପାଦ ପରିଶୋଧରେ ପାଦ ନିଆଯିବ। BSB BSB: You must show no pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, and foot for foot.
