2 ULB ତହିଁରେ ସାରୀ ଅବ୍ରାମଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଦେଖ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମୋତେ ବନ୍ଧ୍ୟା କରିଅଛନ୍ତି; ଏଣୁ ମୁଁ ବିନୟ କରୁଅଛି, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋହର ଏହି ଦାସୀର ସହବାସ କର; କେଜାଣି ମୁଁ ଏହା ଯୋଗୁଁ ପୁତ୍ର ପାଇ ପାରିବି।” ତେବେ ଅବ୍ରାମ ସାରୀଙ୍କର ବାକ୍ୟରେ ସମ୍ମତ ହେଲେ। BSB BSB: So Sarai said to Abram, “Look now, the LORD has prevented me from bearing children. Please go to my maidservant; perhaps I can build a family by her.” And Abram listened to the voice of Sarai.
3 ULB ଅବ୍ରାମ କିଣାନ ଦେଶରେ ଦଶ ବର୍ଷ ବାସ କଲା ଉତ୍ତାରେ ତାଙ୍କର ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ସାରୀ ଆପଣା ମିସରୀୟା ଦାସୀ ହାଗାରକୁ ନେଇ ଆପଣା ସ୍ୱାମୀ ଅବ୍ରାମ ସହିତ ବିବାହ ଦେଲେ। BSB BSB: So after he had lived in Canaan for ten years, his wife Sarai took her Egyptian maidservant Hagar and gave her to Abram to be his wife.
4 ULB ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଅବ୍ରାମ ହାଗାରର ସହବାସ କରନ୍ତେ, ସେ ଗର୍ଭବତୀ ହେଲା; ପୁଣି, ଆପଣାର ଗର୍ଭ ହୋଇଅଛି, ଏହା ଜାଣି ସେ ନିଜ ସାଆନ୍ତାଣୀଙ୍କୁ ତୁଚ୍ଛ ଜ୍ଞାନ କରିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲା। BSB BSB: And he slept with Hagar, and she conceived. But when Hagar realized that she was pregnant, she began to despise her mistress.
5 ULB ତହିଁରେ ସାରୀ ଅବ୍ରାମଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ମୋ’ ପ୍ରତି ଏହି ଅନ୍ୟାୟର ଫଳ ତୁମ୍ଭର ହେଉ; ମୁଁ ଆପଣାର ଯେଉଁ ଦାସୀକୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ କ୍ରୋଡ଼ରେ ଦେଇଅଛି, ସେ ଏବେ ଆପଣାର ଗର୍ଭ ଜାଣି ମୋତେ ତୁଚ୍ଛ ଜ୍ଞାନ କରୁଅଛି; ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଓ ମୋହର ବିଚାର କରନ୍ତୁ।” BSB BSB: Then Sarai said to Abram, “May the wrong done to me be upon you! I delivered my servant into your arms, and ever since she saw that she was pregnant, she has treated me with contempt. May the LORD judge between you and me.”
6 ULB ତହିଁରେ ଅବ୍ରାମ ସାରୀଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଦେଖ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ଦାସୀ ତୁମ୍ଭ ହାତରେ ଅଛି; ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଯାହା ଭଲ ଦିଶେ, ତାହା ତା’ ପ୍ରତି କର।” ତହିଁରେ ସାରୀ ହାଗାର ପ୍ରତି କଠିନ ବ୍ୟବହାର କରନ୍ତେ, ସେ ତାଙ୍କ ପାଖରୁ ପଳାଇଗଲା। BSB BSB: “Here,” said Abram, “your servant is in your hands. Do whatever you want with her.” Then Sarai treated Hagar so harshly that she fled from her.
8 ULB “ଆଗୋ ସାରୀର ଦାସୀ ହାଗାର, ତୁମ୍ଭେ କେଉଁଠାରୁ ଆସିଲ? ପୁଣି, କେଉଁଠାକୁ ଯିବ?” ତହିଁରେ ସେ କହିଲା, “ମୁଁ ଆପଣା ସାଆନ୍ତାଣୀ ସାରୀ ନିକଟରୁ ପଳାଉଅଛି।” BSB BSB: “Hagar, servant of Sarai,” he said, “where have you come from, and where are you going?” “I am running away from my mistress Sarai,” she replied.
9 ULB ସେତେବେଳେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଦୂତ ତାହାକୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ସାଆନ୍ତାଣୀ ନିକଟକୁ ଫେରି ଯାଇ ନମ୍ର ଭାବରେ ତାଙ୍କର ହସ୍ତର ବଶୀଭୂତା ହୁଅ।” BSB BSB: So the angel of the LORD told her, “Return to your mistress and submit to her authority.”
10 ULB ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଦୂତ ଆହୁରି କହିଲେ, “ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ବଂଶ ଏପରି ବୃଦ୍ଧି କରିବା, ଯେ ବାହୁଲ୍ୟ ସକାଶୁ ତାହା ଅଗଣ୍ୟ ହେବ।” BSB BSB: Then the angel added, “I will greatly multiply your offspring so that they will be too numerous to count.”
11 ULB ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଦୂତ ଆହୁରି କହିଲେ, “ଦେଖ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ଗର୍ଭ ହୋଇଅଛି, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ପୁତ୍ର ପ୍ରସବ କରିବ, ତାହାର ନାମ ଇଶ୍ମାୟେଲ ଦେବ, ଯେହେତୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦୁଃଖ ଶୁଣିଲେ। BSB BSB: The angel of the LORD proceeded: “Behold, you have conceived and will bear a son. And you shall name him Ishmael, for the LORD has heard your cry of affliction.
12 ULB ପୁଣି, ସେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ବନ ଗର୍ଦ୍ଦଭ ସ୍ୱରୂପ ହେବ, ତାହାର ହସ୍ତ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଓ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତ ତାହାର ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଥିବ, ପୁଣି, ସେ ଆପଣା ଭାଇମାନଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ବାସ କରିବ।” BSB BSB: He will be a wild donkey of a man, and his hand will be against everyone, and everyone’s hand against him; he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.”
13 ULB ଆଉ ହାଗାର ଆପଣା ସହିତ କଥାବାର୍ତ୍ତାକାରୀ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଏହି ନାମ ରଖିଲା, ଯଥା, ମଦ୍ଦର୍ଶକ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର, (ହେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋତେ ଦେଖୁଅଛ); ଯେହେତୁ ସେ କହିଲା, “ଯେ ମୋତେ ଦେଖନ୍ତି, ତାଙ୍କ ଦର୍ଶନ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ମୁଁ କି ଏଠାରେ ଆହୁରି ବଞ୍ଚିଛି!” BSB BSB: So Hagar gave this name to the LORD who had spoken to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “Here I have seen the One who sees me!”
14 ULB ଏଣୁ ସେହି କୂପର ନାମ ବେର-ଲହୟ-ରୋୟୀ ରଖାଗଲା। ସେହି କୂପ କାଦେଶ ଓ ବେରଦ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଅଛି। BSB BSB: Therefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi. It is located between Kadesh and Bered.
15 ULB ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ହାଗାର ଅବ୍ରାମଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ପୁତ୍ର ପ୍ରସବ କରନ୍ତେ, ଅବ୍ରାମ ହାଗାରଠାରୁ ଜାତ ଆପଣାର ସେହି ପୁତ୍ରର ନାମ ଇଶ୍ମାୟେଲ ଦେଲେ। BSB BSB: And Hagar bore Abram a son, and Abram gave the name Ishmael to the son she had borne.
16 ULB ଅବ୍ରାମଙ୍କର ଛୟାଅଶୀ ବର୍ଷ ବୟସରେ ହାଗାର ଅବ୍ରାମଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଇଶ୍ମାୟେଲକୁ ପ୍ରସବ କଲା। BSB BSB: Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore Ishmael to him.
