1 ULB ଏଥିରେ ଆୟୁବ ଉତ୍ତର କରି କହିଲା, BSB BSB: Then Job answered:
2 ULB “ମନୋଯୋଗ କରି ମୋ’ କଥା ଶୁଣ ଓ ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ସାନ୍ତ୍ୱନା ହେଉ। BSB BSB: “Listen carefully to my words; let this be your consolation to me.
3 ULB ମୋତେ ଅନୁମତି ଦିଅ, ମୁଁ ମଧ୍ୟ କଥା କହିବି ଓ ମୁଁ କହିସାରିଲା ଉତ୍ତାରେ ଉପହାସ କରୁଥାଅ। BSB BSB: Bear with me while I speak; then, after I have spoken, you may go on mocking.
4 ULB ମୋ’ ଗୁହାରି କ’ଣ ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ନିକଟରେ? ତେବେ ମୁଁ କାହିଁକି ଅଧୈର୍ଯ୍ୟ ନୋହିବି? BSB BSB: Is my complaint against a man? Then why should I not be impatient?
5 ULB ମୋତେ ନିରୀକ୍ଷଣ କରି ଚମତ୍କୃତ ହୁଅ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ମୁଖରେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ହାତ ଦିଅ। BSB BSB: Look at me and be appalled; put your hand over your mouth.
6 ULB ମୁଁ ସ୍ମରଣ କଲେ ବ୍ୟାକୁଳ ହୁଏ ଓ ମୋ’ ଶରୀର କମ୍ପିତ ହୁଏ। BSB BSB: When I remember, terror takes hold, and my body trembles in horror.
7 ULB ଦୁଷ୍ଟମାନେ କାହିଁକି ଜୀବିତ ଥା’ନ୍ତି, ବୃଦ୍ଧ ହୁଅନ୍ତି ଓ ପରାକ୍ରମରେ ବର୍ଦ୍ଧିଷ୍ଣୁ ହୁଅନ୍ତି? BSB BSB: Why do the wicked live on, growing old and increasing in power?
8 ULB ସେମାନଙ୍କ ବଂଶ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସାକ୍ଷାତରେ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସନ୍ତାନସନ୍ତତି ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିଗୋଚରରେ ସ୍ଥିରୀକୃତ ହୁଅନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: Their descendants are established around them, and their offspring before their eyes.
9 ULB ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଗୃହ ଭୟରୁ ରକ୍ଷିତ ଥାଏ, କିଅବା ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କର ଯଷ୍ଟି ନ ଥାଏ। BSB BSB: Their homes are safe from fear; no rod of punishment from God is upon them.
10 ULB ସେମାନଙ୍କ ବୃଷ ସଙ୍ଗମ କରି ନିଷ୍ଫଳ ହୁଏ ନାହିଁ; ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଗାଭୀ ପ୍ରସବ କରେ ଓ ଗର୍ଭପାତ କରେ ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: Their bulls breed without fail; their cows bear calves and do not miscarry.
11 ULB ସେମାନେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ବାଳକଗଣକୁ ପଲ ପରି ବାହାରେ ପଠାନ୍ତି ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ନୃତ୍ୟ କରନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: They send forth their little ones like a flock; their children skip about,
12 ULB ସେମାନେ ତବଲା ଓ ବୀଣା ବଜାଇ ଗାନ କରନ୍ତି ଓ ବଂଶୀଧ୍ୱନିରେ ଆନନ୍ଦ କରନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: singing to the tambourine and lyre and making merry at the sound of the flute.
13 ULB ସେହି ଦୁଷ୍ଟମାନେ ସମୃଦ୍ଧିରେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଦିନ କ୍ଷେପଣ କରନ୍ତି ଓ ଏକ ନିମିଷରେ ପାତାଳକୁ ଓହ୍ଲାଇ ଯା’ନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: They spend their days in prosperity and go down to Sheol in peace.
14 ULB ତଥାପି ସେମାନେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ‘ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରୁ ଦୂର ହୁଅ; କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ମାର୍ଗବିଷୟକ ଜ୍ଞାନ ବାଞ୍ଛା କରୁ ନାହୁଁ। BSB BSB: Yet they say to God: ‘Leave us alone! For we have no desire to know Your ways.
15 ULB ସର୍ବଶକ୍ତିମାନ କିଏ ଯେ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କର ସେବା କରିବା? ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କଲେ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ କି ଲାଭ ପାଇବା?’ BSB BSB: Who is the Almighty, that we should serve Him, and what would we gain if we pray to Him?’
16 ULB ଦେଖ, ସେମାନଙ୍କର ସୁଖ ସମୃଦ୍ଧି ସେମାନଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରେ ନାହିଁ; ଦୁଷ୍ଟମାନଙ୍କ ମନ୍ତ୍ରଣା ମୋ’ଠାରୁ ଦୂରରେ ଥାଏ। BSB BSB: Still, their prosperity is not in their own hands, so I stay far from the counsel of the wicked.
17 ULB କେତେ ଥର ଦୁଷ୍ଟମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରଦୀପ ନିଭାଯାଏ? ସେମାନଙ୍କ ବିପଦ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ପଡ଼େ? ଓ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଆପଣା କ୍ରୋଧରେ କ୍ଳେଶ ବିତରଣ କରନ୍ତି? BSB BSB: How often is the lamp of the wicked put out? Does disaster come upon them? Does God, in His anger, apportion destruction?
18 ULB ସେମାନେ ବାୟୁ ଆଗରେ କୁଟା ପରି ଓ ବତାସରେ ଉଡ଼ନ୍ତା ତୁଷ ପରି ହୁଅନ୍ତି? BSB BSB: Are they like straw before the wind, like chaff swept away by a storm?
19 ULB ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କହୁଅଛ, ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ତାହାର ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ନିମନ୍ତେ ତାହାର ଅଧର୍ମ ସଞ୍ଚୟ କରନ୍ତି। ସେ ତାହାକୁ ହିଁ ପ୍ରତିଫଳ ଦେଉନ୍ତୁ, ତହିଁରେ ସେ ତାହା ଜାଣିବ। BSB BSB: It is said that God lays up one’s punishment for his children. Let God repay the man himself, so he will know it.
20 ULB ତାହାର ନିଜ ଚକ୍ଷୁ ତାହାର ବିନାଶ ଦେଖୁ ଓ ସେ ସର୍ବଶକ୍ତିମାନଙ୍କ କ୍ରୋଧ ପାନ କରୁ। BSB BSB: Let his eyes see his own destruction; let him drink for himself the wrath of the Almighty.
21 ULB କାରଣ ମଧ୍ୟଭାଗରୁ ତାହାର ମାସସଂଖ୍ୟା କଟା ଗଲେ, ତାହାର ପଶ୍ଚାଦ୍ବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ବଂଶରେ କି ତାହାର କିଛି ସନ୍ତୋଷ ଥାଏ? BSB BSB: For what does he care about his household after him, when the number of his months has run out?
22 ULB ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଊର୍ଦ୍ଧ୍ୱବାସୀମାନଙ୍କର ଶାସନ କରନ୍ତି, ଏଣୁ କେହି କି ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଜ୍ଞାନ ଶିଖାଇବ? BSB BSB: Can anyone teach knowledge to God, since He judges those on high?
23 ULB କେହି ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ବିଶ୍ରାମ ଓ ଶାନ୍ତି ଭୋଗ କରି ବଳବିଶିଷ୍ଟ ହୋଇ ମରେ; BSB BSB: One man dies full of vigor, completely secure and at ease.
24 ULB ତାହାର ସ୍ତନ ଦୁଗ୍ଧରେ ପରିପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଓ ତାହାର ଅସ୍ଥିର ମେଦ ସତେଜ ଥାଏ। BSB BSB: His body is well nourished, and his bones are rich with marrow.
25 ULB ଆଉ, କେହି ପ୍ରାଣର ତିକ୍ତତାରେ ମରେ ଓ କେତେବେଳେ ମଙ୍ଗଳର ଆସ୍ୱାଦ ପାଏ ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: Yet another man dies in the bitterness of his soul, having never tasted prosperity.
26 ULB ଏମାନେ ଏକ ସମାନ ମାଟିରେ ଶୟନ କରନ୍ତି ଓ କୀଟ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଚ୍ଛାଦନ କରେ। BSB BSB: But together they lie down in the dust, and worms cover them both.
27 ULB ଦେଖ, ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ବିଚାରସବୁ ଓ ମୋ’ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଅନ୍ୟାୟକଳ୍ପିତ ସଂକଳ୍ପସବୁ ଜାଣେ। BSB BSB: Behold, I know your thoughts full well, the schemes by which you would wrong me.
28 ULB କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କହୁଅଛ, ସେହି ଅଧିପତିର ଗୃହ କାହିଁ? ଓ ସେହି ଦୁଷ୍ଟର ବସତି-ତମ୍ବୁ କାହିଁ? BSB BSB: For you say, ‘Where now is the nobleman’s house, and where are the tents in which the wicked dwell?’
29 ULB ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କ’ଣ ପଥିକମାନଙ୍କୁ ପଚାରି ନାହଁ? ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କ’ଣ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଲକ୍ଷଣ ଜାଣ ନାହିଁ ଯେ, BSB BSB: Have you never asked those who travel the roads? Do you not accept their reports?
30 ULB ଦୁଷ୍ଟଲୋକ ବିପଦର ଦିନ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ରକ୍ଷିତ? ଓ ସେମାନେ କୋପର ଦିନ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଘେନା ଯା’ନ୍ତି? BSB BSB: Indeed, the evil man is spared from the day of calamity, delivered from the day of wrath.
31 ULB ତାହାର ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ କିଏ ତାହାର ପଥ ପ୍ରକାଶ କରିବ? ଓ କିଏ ତାହାର କୃତକର୍ମର ଫଳ ତାହାକୁ ଦେବ? BSB BSB: Who denounces his behavior to his face? Who repays him for what he has done?
32 ULB ତଥାପି ସେ କବରକୁ ବହାଯିବ ଓ କବର ଉପରେ ପ୍ରହରୀ ରହିବ। BSB BSB: He is carried to the grave, and watch is kept over his tomb.
33 ULB ଉପତ୍ୟକାର ମୃତ୍ତିକା ତାହା ପ୍ରତି ମିଷ୍ଟ ହେବ, ଯେପରି ତାହା ପୂର୍ବରେ ଅସଂଖ୍ୟ ଲୋକ, ସେପରି ତାହାର ପଶ୍ଚାତ୍ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକ ଗମନ କରିବେ। BSB BSB: The clods of the valley are sweet to him; everyone follows behind him, and those before him are without number.
34 ULB ତେବେ କିପରି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମୋତେ ବୃଥାରେ ସାନ୍ତ୍ୱନା ଦେଉଅଛ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଉତ୍ତରରେ ତ କେବଳ ମିଥ୍ୟା ଥାଏ।” BSB BSB: So how can you comfort me with empty words? For your answers remain full of falsehood.”
