1 ULB କାହିଁକି ସର୍ବଶକ୍ତିମାନଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ସମୟ ନିରୂପିତ ହୋଇ ନାହିଁ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଜାଣିବା ଲୋକମାନେ କାହିଁକି ତାହାଙ୍କ ଦିନ ଦେଖନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ? BSB BSB: “Why does the Almighty not reserve times for judgment? Why may those who know Him never see His days?
2 ULB କେହି କେହି ଭୂମିର ସୀମାଚିହ୍ନ ଘୁଞ୍ଚାନ୍ତି, ସେମାନେ ବଳରେ ମେଷପଲ ହରଣ କରି ଚରାନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: Men move boundary stones; they pasture stolen flocks.
3 ULB ସେମାନେ ପିତୃହୀନର ଗର୍ଦ୍ଦଭ ଅଡ଼ାଇ ନିଅନ୍ତି, ବିଧବାର ଗୋରୁ ବନ୍ଧକ ରୂପେ ନିଅନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: They drive away the donkey of the fatherless and take the widow’s ox in pledge.
4 ULB ସେମାନେ ଦୀନହୀନକୁ ବାଟରୁ ତଡ଼ି ଦିଅନ୍ତି; ଦେଶସ୍ଥ ଦରିଦ୍ରମାନେ ଏକତ୍ର ଲୁଚନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: They push the needy off the road and force all the poor of the land into hiding.
5 ULB ଦେଖ, ସେମାନେ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରସ୍ଥ ବନ୍ୟ ଗର୍ଦ୍ଦଭ ତୁଲ୍ୟ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା କାର୍ଯ୍ୟରେ ବାହାରି ଯତ୍ନପୂର୍ବକ ଆହାର ଅନ୍ଵେଷଣ କରନ୍ତି; ଅରଣ୍ୟ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ବାଳକଗଣ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆହାର ଉତ୍ପନ୍ନ କରେ। BSB BSB: Indeed, like wild donkeys in the desert, the poor go to work foraging for food; the wasteland is food for their children.
6 ULB ସେମାନେ କ୍ଷେତ୍ରରେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ଖାଦ୍ୟ କାଟନ୍ତି ଓ ଦୁଷ୍ଟର ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାକ୍ଷେତ୍ରର ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ଫଳ ସାଉଣ୍ଟନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: They gather fodder in the fields and glean the vineyards of the wicked.
7 ULB ସେମାନେ ସାରାରାତ୍ରି ବସ୍ତ୍ର ବିନା ଉଲଙ୍ଗ ହୋଇ ଶୟନ କରନ୍ତି ଓ ଶୀତକାଳରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଆଚ୍ଛାଦନ ବସ୍ତ୍ର ନ ଥାଏ। BSB BSB: Without clothing, they spend the night naked; they have no covering against the cold.
8 ULB ସେମାନେ ପର୍ବତରେ ବୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ତିନ୍ତନ୍ତି, ପୁଣି ଆଶ୍ରୟ ଅଭାବରୁ ଶୈଳରେ ଶରଣ ନିଅନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: Drenched by mountain rains, they huddle against the rocks for want of shelter.
9 ULB କେହି କେହି ପିତୃହୀନକୁ ମାତୃସ୍ତନରୁ ଛଡ଼ାଇ ନିଅନ୍ତି ଓ ଦରିଦ୍ରଠାରୁ ବନ୍ଧକ ନିଅନ୍ତି; BSB BSB: The fatherless infant is snatched from the breast; the nursing child of the poor is seized for a debt.
10 ULB ଏହେତୁ ସେମାନେ ବସ୍ତ୍ର ବିନା ଉଲଙ୍ଗ ହୋଇ ବୁଲନ୍ତି ଓ କ୍ଷୁଧିତ ହୋଇ ଶସ୍ୟବିଡ଼ା ବହନ୍ତି; BSB BSB: Without clothing, they wander about naked. They carry the sheaves, but still go hungry.
11 ULB ସେମାନେ ଏହି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରାଚୀର ଭିତରେ ତୈଳ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରନ୍ତି ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାଯନ୍ତ୍ର ଦଳି ତୃଷିତ ହୁଅନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: They crush olives within their walls; they tread the winepresses, but go thirsty.
12 ULB ଜନପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ନଗରରୁ ଲୋକେ କାତରୋକ୍ତି କରନ୍ତି, ଆହତ ଲୋକର ପ୍ରାଣ ଡାକ ପକାଏ; ତଥାପି ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଏହା ଦୋଷ ରୂପେ ଗଣନା କରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: From the city, men groan, and the souls of the wounded cry out, yet God charges no one with wrongdoing.
13 ULB ସେମାନଙ୍କର କେହି କେହି ଆଲୁଅର ବିଦ୍ରୋହୀ; ତହିଁର ମାର୍ଗ ସେମାନେ ଜାଣନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ, ଅବା ତହିଁର ପଥରେ ରହନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: Then there are those who rebel against the light, not knowing its ways or staying on its paths.
14 ULB ହତ୍ୟାକାରୀ ପ୍ରଭାତ ସମୟରେ ଉଠି ଦରିଦ୍ର ଓ ଦୀନହୀନକୁ ବଧ କରେ ଓ ରାତ୍ରିରେ ସେ ଚୋର ପରି ହୁଏ। BSB BSB: When daylight is gone, the murderer rises to kill the poor and needy; in the night he is like a thief.
15 ULB ପାରଦାରିକର ଚକ୍ଷୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ସନ୍ଧ୍ୟାକାଳର ଅପେକ୍ଷା କରି କହେ, କେହି ମୋତେ ଦେଖିବ ନାହିଁ ଓ ସେ ଆପଣା ମୁଖ ଅନ୍ୟ ରୂପ କରେ। BSB BSB: The eye of the adulterer watches for twilight. Thinking, ‘No eye will see me,’ he covers his face.
16 ULB ସେମାନେ ଅନ୍ଧକାରରେ ଗୃହ ସିନ୍ଧି କରନ୍ତି; ସେମାନେ ଦିନ ବେଳେ ଲୁଚି ରହନ୍ତି, ସେମାନେ ଆଲୁଅ ଜାଣନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: In the dark they dig through houses; by day they shut themselves in, never to experience the light.
17 ULB କାରଣ ସେସମସ୍ତଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ପ୍ରଭାତ ମୃତ୍ୟୁଚ୍ଛାୟା ପରି ଅଟେ; ସେମାନେ ମୃତ୍ୟୁୁଚ୍ଛାୟାର ଭୟାନକତା ଜାଣନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: For to them, deep darkness is their morning; surely they are friends with the terrors of darkness!
18 ULB ସେ ଜଳ ଉପରେ ଶୀଘ୍ରଗାମୀ; ଦେଶରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଅଧିକାର ଅଭିଶପ୍ତ ଅଟେ; ସେ ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାକ୍ଷେତ୍ରର ପଥ ଆଡ଼କୁ ଫେରେ ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: They are but foam on the surface of the water; their portion of the land is cursed, so that no one turns toward their vineyards.
19 ULB ଯେପରି ଅନାବୃଷ୍ଟି ଓ ଗ୍ରୀଷ୍ମ ହିମଜଳକୁ, ସେପରି ପାତାଳ ପାପୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ନଷ୍ଟ କରେ। BSB BSB: As drought and heat consume the melting snow, so Sheol steals those who have sinned.
20 ULB ଗର୍ଭ ତାହାକୁ ପାସୋରି ଯିବ; କୀଟ ସୁସ୍ୱାଦୁ ଭକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ପରି ତାହାକୁ ଖାଇବ, ସେ ଆଉ ସ୍ମରଣ କରାଯିବ ନାହିଁ; ପୁଣି, ଅଧର୍ମ ବୃକ୍ଷ ପରି ଭଙ୍ଗା ଯିବ। BSB BSB: The womb forgets them; the worm feeds on them; they are remembered no more. So injustice is broken like a tree.
21 ULB ସେ ନିଃସନ୍ତାନା ବନ୍ଧ୍ୟାକୁ ଗ୍ରାସ କରେ ଓ ବିଧବାର ମଙ୍ଗଳ କରେ ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: They prey on the barren and childless, and show no kindness to the widow.
22 ULB ସେ ଆପଣା ଶକ୍ତିରେ ବିକ୍ରମୀ ଲୋକକୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ଟାଣି ପକାଏ, ସେ ଉଠିଲେ କାହାରି ଜୀବନର ସ୍ଥିରତା ନ ଥାଏ। BSB BSB: Yet by His power, God drags away the mighty; though rising up, they have no assurance of life.
23 ULB ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ନିରାପଦରେ ରହିବାକୁ ଦିଅନ୍ତି ଓ ସେମାନେ ତହିଁରେ ନିର୍ଭର ରଖନ୍ତି ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟି ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମାର୍ଗରେ ଥାଏ। BSB BSB: He gives them a sense of security, but His eyes are on their ways.
24 ULB ସେମାନେ ଉନ୍ନତ ହୁଅନ୍ତି; ତଥାପି ଅଳ୍ପ କାଳରେ ଅନ୍ତର୍ହିତ ହୁଅନ୍ତି; ହଁ, ସେମାନେ ଅବନତ ହୁଅନ୍ତି, ସେମାନେ ଅନ୍ୟ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କ ପରି ପଥରୁ ଘେନାଯା’ନ୍ତି, ଆଉ ଶସ୍ୟଶିଁଷାର ଅଗ୍ରଭାଗ ପରି କଟାଯା’ନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: They are exalted for a moment, then they are gone; they are brought low and gathered up like all others; they are cut off like heads of grain.
25 ULB ପୁଣି, ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ଯଦି ଏପରି ନ ହୁଏ, ତେବେ କିଏ ଆମ୍ଭକୁ ମିଥ୍ୟାବାଦୀ ବୋଲି ପ୍ରମାଣ କରିବ ଓ ଆମ୍ଭ କଥାକୁ ନିରର୍ଥକ କରିବ?” BSB BSB: If this is not so, then who can prove me a liar and reduce my words to nothing?”
