1ଆହୁରି ଇଲୀହୂ ଉତ୍ତର କରି କହିଲା,Then Elihu continued:

2“ହେ ଜ୍ଞାନୀମାନେ, ମୋ’ କଥା ଶୁଣ, ହେ ବିଜ୍ଞମାନେ, ମୋ’ କଥାରେ କର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଦିଅ।“Hear my words, O wise men; give ear to me, O men of learning.

3କାରଣ ସ୍ୱାଦ ଯେପରି ଭକ୍ଷ୍ୟର ସ୍ୱାଦ ବୁଝେ, କର୍ଣ୍ଣ ସେପରି ବାକ୍ୟର ପରୀକ୍ଷା କରେ।For the ear tests words as the mouth tastes food.

4ଯାହା ଯଥାର୍ଥ, ତାହା ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ମନୋନୀତ କରୁ; ଯାହା ଭଲ, ତାହା ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ କରୁ।Let us choose for ourselves what is right; let us learn together what is good.

5କାରଣ ଆୟୁବ କହିଅଛି, ମୁଁ ଧାର୍ମିକ, ପୁଣି ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ମୋହର ନ୍ୟାୟ ହରଣ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି;For Job has declared, ‘I am righteous, yet God has deprived me of justice.

6ମୁଁ ନ୍ୟାୟବାନ ହେଲେ ହେଁ ମିଥ୍ୟାବାଦୀ ଗଣିତ ହୋଇଅଛି; ମୁଁ ଅପରାଧରହିତ ହେଲେ ହେଁ ମୋହର କ୍ଷତି ପ୍ରତିକାରହୀନ।Would I lie about my case? My wound is incurable, though I am without transgression.’

7ଆୟୁବ ପରି କେଉଁ ଲୋକ ଅଛି? ସେ ଜଳ ପରି ନିନ୍ଦା ପାନ କରେ।What man is like Job, who drinks up derision like water?

8ସେ ଅଧର୍ମାଚାରୀମାନଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗେ ଯାଏ ଓ ଦୁଷ୍ଟଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗେ ଗମନାଗମନ କରେ।He keeps company with evildoers and walks with wicked men.

9କାରଣ ସେ କହିଅଛି, ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କଠାରେ ଆନନ୍ଦ କଲେ, ମନୁଷ୍ୟର କିଛି ଲାଭ ନାହିଁ।For he has said, ‘It profits a man nothing that he should delight in God.’

10ହେ ବୁଦ୍ଧିମାନ ଲୋକେ, ମୋ’ କଥା ଶୁଣ; ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଯେ ଦୁଷ୍କର୍ମ କରିବେ, ଏହା ତାହାଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଦୂରେ ଥାଉ ଓ ସର୍ବଶକ୍ତିମାନ ଯେ ଅଧର୍ମ କରିବେ, ଏହା ତାହାଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଦୂରେ ଥାଉ।Therefore listen to me, O men of understanding. Far be it from God to do wrong, and from the Almighty to act unjustly.

11ମନୁଷ୍ୟର କର୍ମାନୁସାରେ ସେ ତାହାକୁ ଫଳ ଦେବେ ଓ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଲୋକକୁ ତାହାର ଆଚରଣ ପ୍ରମାଣେ ଫଳଭୋଗ କରାଇବେ।For according to a man’s deeds He repays him; according to a man’s ways He brings consequences.

12ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଦୁଷ୍ଟାଚରଣ କରିବେ ନାହିଁ, ସର୍ବଶକ୍ତିମାନ ବିଚାର ବିପରୀତ କରିବେ ନାହିଁ।Indeed, it is true that God does not act wickedly, and the Almighty does not pervert justice.

13କିଏ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ପୃଥିବୀର କର୍ତ୍ତୃତ୍ୱଭାର ଦେଲା? ଅବା କିଏ ସମୁଦାୟ ଜଗତର ନିରୂପଣ କରିଅଛି?Who gave Him charge over the earth? Who appointed Him over the whole world?

14ଯଦି ସେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ଉପରେ ଆପଣା ମନ ଦେବେ, ଯଦି ସେ ତାହାର ଆତ୍ମା ଓ ନିଶ୍ୱାସ ଆପଣା ନିକଟରେ ସଂଗ୍ରହ କରିବେ;If He were to set His heart to it and withdraw His Spirit and breath,

15ତେବେ ସକଳ ପ୍ରାଣୀ ଏକତ୍ର ବିନଷ୍ଟ ହେବେ ଓ ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ପୁନର୍ବାର ଧୂଳିରେ ମିଶିଯିବ।all flesh would perish together and mankind would return to the dust.

16ତୁମ୍ଭର ବିବେଚନା ଥିଲେ, ଏହା ଶୁଣ; ମୋ’ ବାକ୍ୟର ରବରେ ମନୋଯୋଗ କର।If you have understanding, hear this; listen to my words.

17ଯେ ନ୍ୟାୟ ଘୃଣା କରେ, ସେ କି ଶାସନ କରିବ? ଓ ଯେ ଧାର୍ମିକ ଓ ପରାକ୍ରମୀ, ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଦୋଷୀ କରିବ?Could one who hates justice govern? Will you condemn the just and mighty One,

18ରାଜାକୁ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଅଧମ; ଅବା ଅଧିପତିମାନଙ୍କୁ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ବୋଲି କହିବାର କି ଉପଯୁକ୍ତ?who says to kings, ‘You are worthless!’ and to nobles, ‘You are wicked,’

19ତେବେ ପରମେଶ୍ଵର ଯେ ଅଧିପତିମାନଙ୍କର ମୁଖାପେକ୍ଷା କରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ, ଅବା ସମସ୍ତେ ତାହାଙ୍କର ହସ୍ତକୃତ କର୍ମ ହେବାରୁ ଦରିଦ୍ର ଅପେକ୍ଷା ଧନୀକୁ ବିଶେଷ ଜ୍ଞାନ କରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ, ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଏପରି କହିବା କେତେ ଅଧିକ ଅନୁପଯୁକ୍ତ?who is not partial to princes and does not favor rich over poor? For they are all the work of His hands.

20ସେମାନେ ମୁହୂର୍ତ୍ତକେ, ଅର୍ଦ୍ଧରାତ୍ରରେ ହିଁ ମରନ୍ତି; ଲୋକମାନେ କମ୍ପିତ ହୋଇ ପ୍ରାଣତ୍ୟାଗ କରନ୍ତି ଓ ବିକ୍ରମୀ ବିନା ହସ୍ତକ୍ଷେପରେ ଦୂରୀକୃତ ହୁଅନ୍ତି।They die in an instant, in the middle of the night. The people convulse and pass away; the mighty are removed without human hand.

21କାରଣ ମନୁଷ୍ୟର ମାର୍ଗ ପ୍ରତି ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟି ଅଛି ଓ ସେ ତାହାର ସବୁ ଗତି ଦେଖନ୍ତି।For His eyes are on the ways of a man, and He sees his every step.

22ଯେଉଁଠାରେ ଅଧର୍ମାଚାରୀଗଣ ଲୁଚି ପାରନ୍ତି, ଏପରି ଅନ୍ଧକାର ଓ ମୃତ୍ୟୁଚ୍ଛାୟା ନାହିଁ।There is no darkness or deep shadow where the workers of iniquity can hide.

23କାରଣ ମନୁଷ୍ୟର ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ସାକ୍ଷାତରେ ବିଚାରାର୍ଥେ ଯିବାକୁ ହେବ ବୋଲି ତାହା ବିଷୟ ଦୀର୍ଘ ବିବେଚନା କରିବାର ତାହାଙ୍କର ଆବଶ୍ୟକ ନାହିଁ।For God need not examine a man further or have him approach for judgment.

24ସେ ଅନୁଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟ ଉପାୟରେ ପରାକ୍ରାନ୍ତ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଖଣ୍ଡ ଖଣ୍ଡ କରନ୍ତି ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଅନ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ସ୍ଥାପନ କରନ୍ତି।He shatters the mighty without inquiry and sets up others in their place.

25ଏହେତୁ ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ କର୍ମର ତତ୍ତ୍ୱ ନିଅନ୍ତି; ପୁଣି, ସେ ରାତ୍ରିରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓଲଟାଇ ପକାନ୍ତି, ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ ବିନଷ୍ଟ ହୁଅନ୍ତି।Therefore, He recognizes their deeds; He overthrows them in the night and they are crushed.

26ସେ ଅନ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିଗୋଚରରେ ଦୁଷ୍ଟଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରହାର କଲା ପରି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରହାର କରନ୍ତି;He strikes them for their wickedness in full view,

27କାରଣ ସେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଅନୁଗମନରୁ ବିମୁଖ ହେଲେ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କର କୌଣସି ମାର୍ଗ ଆଦର କରିବାକୁ ଅନିଚ୍ଛୁକ ହେଲେ;because they turned aside from Him and had no regard for any of His ways.

28ଏହିରୂପେ ସେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଛାମୁରେ ଦରିଦ୍ରର କ୍ରନ୍ଦନ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ କରାଇଲେ, ତହୁଁ ସେ ଦୁଃଖୀର କ୍ରନ୍ଦନ ଶୁଣିଲେ।They caused the cry of the poor to come before Him, and He heard the outcry of the afflicted.

29ସେ ଶାନ୍ତି ଦେଲେ, କିଏ ଦୋଷ ଦେଇପାରେ? ଓ ସେ ଆପଣା ମୁଖ ଆଚ୍ଛାଦନ କଲେ, କିଏ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖିପାରେ? ଏହା କୌଣସି ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀ ଅବା କୌଣସି ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ପ୍ରତି କରାଗଲେ, ଏକ ସମାନ ଥାଏ;But when He remains silent, who can condemn Him? When He hides His face, who can see Him? Yet He watches over both man and nation,

30ଏଣୁ ଅଧାର୍ମିକ ଲୋକ ରାଜତ୍ୱ କରେ ନାହିଁ, ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଫାନ୍ଦରେ ପକାଇବାକୁ କେହି ନ ଥାଏ।that godless men should not rule or lay snares for the people.

31କାରଣ କେହି କି ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କୁ କହିଅଛି, ମୁଁ ଶାସ୍ତି ଭୋଗ କରୁଅଛି, ଆଉ ଦୋଷ କରିବି ନାହିଁ;Suppose someone says to God, ‘I have endured my punishment; I will offend no more.

32ଯାହା ମୁଁ ଜାଣୁ ନାହିଁ, ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋତେ ଶିଖାଅ; ଯଦି ମୁଁ ଅପରାଧ କରିଅଛି, ତେବେ ଆଉ ତାହା କରିବି ନାହିଁ?Teach me what I cannot see; if I have done wrong, I will not do it again.’

33ତାହାଙ୍କ ଦତ୍ତ ପ୍ରତିଫଳ କି ତୁମ୍ଭ ଇଚ୍ଛାମତ ହେବ ଯେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାହା ଅଗ୍ରାହ୍ୟ କରୁଅଛ? କାରଣ ମନୋନୀତ କରିବାର ତୁମ୍ଭର କର୍ମ, ମୋହର ନୁହେଁ; ଏଥିପାଇଁ ଯାହା ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣ, ତାହା କୁହ।Should God repay you on your own terms when you have disavowed Him? You must choose, not I; so tell me what you know.

34ବୁଦ୍ଧିମାନ ଲୋକେ ଏବଂ ମୋ’ କଥା ଶ୍ରବଣକାରୀ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଜ୍ଞାନୀ ଲୋକ ମୋତେ କହିବେ;Men of understanding will declare to me, and the wise men who hear me will say:

35ଆୟୁବ ନ ଜାଣି କଥା କହେ ଓ ତାହାର କଥାସବୁ ଜ୍ଞାନବର୍ଜ୍ଜିତ।‘Job speaks without knowledge; his words lack insight.’

36ଆୟୁବ ଶେଷ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ପରୀକ୍ଷିତ ହେଉ, କାରଣ ସେ ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ପରି ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଇଅଛି।If only Job were tried to the utmost for answering like a wicked man.

37ଯେଣୁ ସେ ଆପଣା ପାପରେ ବିଦ୍ରୋହଭାବ ଯୋଗ କରୁଅଛି, ସେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ହାତତାଳି ଦେଉଅଛି ଓ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତିକୂଳରେ ଅନେକ କଥା କହୁଅଛି।”For he adds rebellion to his sin; he claps his hands among us and multiplies his words against God.”
