1 ULB ଏଥିରେ ଆୟୁବ ଉତ୍ତର କରି କହିଲା, BSB BSB: Then Job replied:
2 ULB “ଆହା, ଯଦି ମୋହର ଦୁଃଖ ତୌଲା ଯାଇଥା’ନ୍ତା ଓ ମୋହର ଦୁର୍ଗତି ତରାଜୁରେ ଏକତ୍ର ରଖା ଯାଇଥା’ନ୍ତା! BSB BSB: “If only my grief could be weighed and placed with my calamity on the scales.
3 ULB ତେବେ ତାହା ଏତେବେଳେ ସମୁଦ୍ର ବାଲିଠାରୁ ଭାରୀ ହୁଅନ୍ତା; ଏଣୁ ମୋହର ବାକ୍ୟ ଅବିବେଚନାଯୁକ୍ତ ହୋଇଅଛି। BSB BSB: For then it would outweigh the sand of the seas—no wonder my words have been rash.
4 ULB କାରଣ ସର୍ବଶକ୍ତିମାନଙ୍କ ତୀରସବୁ ମୋର ଅନ୍ତରରେ ଅଛି, ମୋହର ପ୍ରାଣ ତହିଁର ବିଷ ପାନ କରୁଅଛି; ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଭୟରୂପ ସୈନ୍ୟ ମୋ’ ପ୍ରତିକୂଳରେ ଶ୍ରେଣୀବଦ୍ଧ ହୁଅନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: For the arrows of the Almighty have pierced me; my spirit drinks in their poison; the terrors of God are arrayed against me.
5 ULB ଘାସ ଥିଲେ କ’ଣ ବନ୍ୟଗର୍ଦ୍ଦଭ ବୋବାଏ? ଆହାର ପାଖରେ କ’ଣ ଗୋରୁ ହମାଳେ? BSB BSB: Does a wild donkey bray over fresh grass, or an ox low over its fodder?
6 ULB ଅସ୍ୱାଦ ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ କ’ଣ ଲବଣ ବିନା ଭୋଜନ କରାଯାଇପାରେ? ଅବା ଡିମ୍ବର ଲାଳରେ କି କିଛି ସ୍ୱାଦ ଅଛି? BSB BSB: Is tasteless food eaten without salt, or is there flavor in the white of an egg?
7 ULB ମୋହର ପ୍ରାଣ ତାହା ସ୍ପର୍ଶ କରିବାକୁ ଅସମ୍ମତ; ତାହାସବୁ ମୋ’ ପ୍ରତି ଘୃଣିତ ଭକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ସ୍ୱରୂପ। BSB BSB: My soul refuses to touch them; they are loathsome food to me.
8 ULB ଆହା, ଯେବେ ମୁଁ ଆପଣା ବାଞ୍ଛିତ ବିଷୟ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ହୁଅନ୍ତି; ଯାହା ମୁଁ ଅପେକ୍ଷା କରେ, ତାହା ଯେବେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ମୋତେ ଦିଅନ୍ତେ। BSB BSB: If only my request were granted and God would fulfill my hope:
9 ULB ହଁ, ଯେବେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଅନୁଗ୍ରହ କରି ମୋତେ ଚୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରନ୍ତେ; ଯେବେ ସେ ଆପଣା ହସ୍ତ ମୁକୁଳା କରି ମୋତେ ଛେଦନ କରି ପକାନ୍ତେ! BSB BSB: that God would be willing to crush me, to unleash His hand and cut me off!
10 ULB ତାହାହେଲେ, ଏବେ ହେଁ ମୁଁ ସାନ୍ତ୍ୱନାପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ହୁଅନ୍ତି; ହଁ, ମୁଁ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦୟ ଯାତନା ମଧ୍ୟରେ ହେଁ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଆନନ୍ଦ କରନ୍ତି; କାରଣ ମୁଁ ଧର୍ମମୟଙ୍କର ବାକ୍ୟସବୁ ଅସ୍ୱୀକାର କରି ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: It still brings me comfort, and joy through unrelenting pain, that I have not denied the words of the Holy One.
11 ULB ମୋହର ବଳ କଅଣ ଯେ, ମୁଁ ଅପେକ୍ଷା କରିବି? ମୋହର ପରିଣାମ କଅଣ ଯେ, ମୁଁ ସହିଷ୍ଣୁ ହେବି? BSB BSB: What strength do I have, that I should still hope? What is my future, that I should be patient?
12 ULB ମୋହର ବଳ କ’ଣ ପ୍ରସ୍ତରମାନଙ୍କର ବଳ? ଅବା ମୋହର ମାଂସ କ’ଣ ପିତ୍ତଳ? BSB BSB: Is my strength like that of stone, or my flesh made of bronze?
13 ULB ମୋ’ ଦ୍ୱାରା ମୋହର କିଛି ଉପକାର ନାହିଁ ଓ ଫଳଦାୟକ କର୍ମଣ୍ୟତା ମୋ’ଠାରୁ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଦୂରୀକୃତ ହୋଇଅଛି, ଏହା କ’ଣ ସତ୍ୟ ନୁହେଁ? BSB BSB: Is there any help within me now that success is driven from me?
14 ULB କ୍ଷୀଣ ହେବାକୁ ଉଦ୍ୟତ ଲୋକ ପ୍ରତି, ମଧ୍ୟ ସର୍ବଶକ୍ତିମାନଙ୍କ ଭୟତ୍ୟାଗୀ ଲୋକ ପ୍ରତି ବନ୍ଧୁଠାରୁ ଦୟା ପ୍ରକାଶିତ ହେବା ଉଚିତ। BSB BSB: A despairing man should have the kindness of his friend, even if he forsakes the fear of the Almighty.
15 ULB ମୋହର ଭ୍ରାତୃଗଣ ନଦୀ ତୁଲ୍ୟ, ପ୍ରବାହିତ ନଦୀସ୍ରୋତ ତୁଲ୍ୟ ପ୍ରବଞ୍ଚନା କରିଅଛନ୍ତି BSB BSB: But my brothers are as faithless as wadis, as seasonal streams that overflow,
16 ULB ତାହାସବୁ ହିମ ସକାଶୁ କୃଷ୍ଣବର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଓ ତହିଁ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ତୁଷାର ଲୀନ ହୁଏ; BSB BSB: darkened because of the ice and the inflow of melting snow,
17 ULB ନଦୀ ଉତ୍ତପ୍ତ ହେଲେ, ତାହା ଲୁପ୍ତ ହୁଏ; ଗ୍ରୀଷ୍ମ ପାଇଲେ ସ୍ୱସ୍ଥାନରୁ ଅନ୍ତର୍ହିତ ହୁଏ। BSB BSB: but ceasing in the dry season and vanishing from their channels in the heat.
18 ULB ପଥିକ ଦଳ ତହିଁ ନିକଟ ଦେଇ ଯାତ୍ରା କରିବା ବେଳେ ପଥ ଛାଡ଼ନ୍ତି; ସେମାନେ ମରୁଭୂମିକୁ ଯାଇ ବିନଷ୍ଟ ହୁଅନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: Caravans turn aside from their routes; they go into the wasteland and perish.
19 ULB ତେମାର ପଥିକ ଦଳ ଅନ୍ଵେଷଣ କଲେ, ଶିବାର ଯାତ୍ରୀ ଦଳ ତହିଁ ପାଇଁ ଅପେକ୍ଷା କଲେ। BSB BSB: The caravans of Tema look for water; the travelers of Sheba hope to find it.
20 ULB ସେମାନେ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟାଶା କରିଥିବା ସକାଶୁ ଲଜ୍ଜିତ ହେଲେ; ସେମାନେ ସେଠାରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହୋଇ ଘାବରା ହେଲେ। BSB BSB: They are confounded because they had hoped; their arrival brings disappointment.
21 ULB ଦେଖ, ଏବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କିଛି ନୁହଁ; ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ବିପତ୍ତି ଦେଖି ଭୀତ ହେଉଅଛ। BSB BSB: For now you are of no help; you see terror, and you are afraid.
22 ULB ମୋତେ କିଛି ଦିଅ, ଅବା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସମ୍ପତ୍ତିରୁ ମୋ’ ପାଇଁ ଉପହାର ଯାଚ। BSB BSB: Have I ever said, ‘Give me something; offer me a bribe from your wealth;
23 ULB କିଅବା ବିପକ୍ଷ ହସ୍ତରୁ ମୋତେ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କର, ଅଥବା ଉପଦ୍ରବୀମାନଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରୁ ମୋତେ ମୁକ୍ତ କର, ଏହା କି ମୁଁ କହିଲି? BSB BSB: deliver me from the hand of the enemy; redeem me from the grasp of the ruthless’?
24 ULB ମୋତେ ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦିଅ, ତହିଁରେ ମୁଁ ନୀରବ ହେବି ଓ ମୁଁ କେଉଁ ବିଷୟରେ ଭୁଲିଗଲି, ତାହା ମୋତେ ବୁଝାଇ ଦିଅ। BSB BSB: Teach me, and I will be silent. Help me understand how I have erred.
25 ULB ସରଳ ବାକ୍ୟ କିପରି ପ୍ରବଳ! ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ତର୍କ କେଉଁ ଦୋଷ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତ କରେ? BSB BSB: How painful are honest words! But what does your argument prove?
26 ULB ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କ’ଣ ଶବ୍ଦର ଦୋଷ ଧରିବାକୁ କଳ୍ପନା କରୁଅଛ? କାରଣ ନିରାଶ ଲୋକର ବାକ୍ୟ ବାୟୁ ତୁଲ୍ୟ। BSB BSB: Do you intend to correct my words, and treat as wind my cry of despair?
27 ULB ହଁ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପିତୃହୀନ ପାଇଁ ଗୁଲିବାଣ୍ଟ କରିବ ଓ ଆପଣା ବନ୍ଧୁକୁ ବାଣିଜ୍ୟ ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ କରିବ। BSB BSB: You would even cast lots for an orphan and barter away your friend.
28 ULB ଏହେତୁ ଏବେ ଅନୁଗ୍ରହ କରି ମୋ’ ପ୍ରତି ଦୃଷ୍ଟି କର; କାରଣ ମୁଁ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ତୁମ୍ଭ ମୁଖ ଆଗରେ ମିଥ୍ୟା କହିବି ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: But now, please look at me. Would I lie to your face?
29 ULB ମୁଁ ବିନୟ କରୁଅଛି, ଫେର, କୌଣସି ଅନ୍ୟାୟ ନ ହେଉ; ହଁ, ପୁନର୍ବାର ଫେର, ମୋହର ଗୁହାରି ଯଥାର୍ଥ। BSB BSB: Reconsider; do not be unjust. Reconsider, for my righteousness is at stake.
30 ULB ମୋ’ ଜିହ୍ୱାରେ କ’ଣ ଅନ୍ୟାୟ ଅଛି? ମୋହର ରସନେନ୍ଦ୍ରିୟ କ’ଣ ଅନିଷ୍ଟ ବିଷୟ ବାରି ନ ପାରେ? BSB BSB: Is there iniquity on my tongue? Can my mouth not discern malice?
