1 ULB ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମୋୟାବ-ପଦାରେ ଯିରୀହୋ ନିକଟସ୍ଥ ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ନଦୀ ସମୀପରେ ମୋଶାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, BSB BSB: Again the LORD spoke to Moses on the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho:
2 ULB “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ସନ୍ତାନଗଣକୁ ଏହି ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦିଅ; ସେମାନେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଅଧିକୃତ ବାଣ୍ଟରୁ କେତେକ ବସତି ନଗର ଲେବୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦିଅନ୍ତୁ, ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଲେବୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ସେହି ନଗରମାନର ତଳିଭୂମି ନିମନ୍ତେ ସେସବୁର ଚତୁର୍ଦ୍ଦିଗସ୍ଥ ଭୂମି ଦେବ। BSB BSB: “Command the Israelites to give, from the inheritance they will possess, cities for the Levites to live in and pasturelands around the cities.
3 ULB ତହିଁରେ ସେହିସବୁ ନଗରରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ନିବାସ ହେବ; ପୁଣି, ତହିଁର ତଳିଭୂମିସବୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପଶୁ, ସମ୍ପତ୍ତି ଓ ଜୀବମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ହେବ। BSB BSB: The cities will be for them to live in, and the pasturelands will be for their herds, their flocks, and all their other livestock.
4 ULB ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଲେବୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯେଉଁ ଯେଉଁ ନଗର ଦେବ, ସେହିସବୁର ତଳିଭୂମି ନଗର-ପ୍ରାଚୀରଠାରୁ ବାହାରେ ଚତୁର୍ଦ୍ଦିଗରେ ଏକ ସହସ୍ର ହସ୍ତ ହେବ। BSB BSB: The pasturelands around the cities you are to give the Levites will extend a thousand cubits from the wall on every side.
5 ULB ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ନଗରର ବାହାରେ ତହିଁର ପୂର୍ବ ସୀମା ଦୁଇ ସହସ୍ର ହସ୍ତ, ଦକ୍ଷିଣ ସୀମା ଦୁଇ ସହସ୍ର ହସ୍ତ, ପଶ୍ଚିମ ସୀମା ଦୁଇ ସହସ୍ର ହସ୍ତ ଓ ଉତ୍ତର ସୀମା ଦୁଇ ସହସ୍ର ହସ୍ତ ପରିମିତ କରିବ; ନଗର ତହିଁର ମଧ୍ୟସ୍ଥଳରେ ରହିବ। ଏହା ସେମାନଙ୍କ ନଗରର ତଳିଭୂମି ହେବ। BSB BSB: You are also to measure two thousand cubits outside the city on the east, two thousand on the south, two thousand on the west, and two thousand on the north, with the city in the center. These areas will serve as larger pasturelands for the cities.
6 ULB ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଲେବୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯେଉଁ ଯେଉଁ ନଗର ଦେବ, ତହିଁରୁ ଛଅଗୋଟି ଆଶ୍ରୟ ନଗର ହେବ, ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀ ସେଠାକୁ ପଳାଇବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତାହା ଦେବ; ଆଉ ତାହା ବ୍ୟତୀତ ଆହୁରି ବୟାଳିଶ ନଗର ଦେବ। BSB BSB: Six of the cities you give the Levites are to be appointed as cities of refuge, to which a manslayer may flee. In addition to these, give the Levites forty-two other cities.
7 ULB ସର୍ବସୁଦ୍ଧା ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଲେବୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଅଠଚାଳିଶ ନଗର ଦେବ; ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ନଗର ସଙ୍ଗେ ତହିଁର ତଳିଭୂମି ଦେବ। BSB BSB: The total number of cities you give the Levites will be forty-eight, with their corresponding pasturelands.
8 ULB ପୁଣି, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣଙ୍କର ଅଧିକାରରୁ ସେହିସବୁ ନଗର ଦେବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଅଧିକ ଲୋକଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଅଧିକ ନେବ ଓ ଅଳ୍ପ ଲୋକଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଅଳ୍ପ ନେବ; ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ବଂଶ ଆପଣାର ଅଧିକୃତ ଅଧିକାରାନୁସାରେ ଆପଣା ନଗରମାନଙ୍କରୁ ଲେବୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦେବେ।” BSB BSB: The cities that you apportion from the territory of the Israelites should be given to the Levites in proportion to the inheritance of each tribe: more from a larger tribe and less from a smaller one.”
9 ULB ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମୋଶାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, BSB BSB: Then the LORD said to Moses,
10 ULB “ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣଙ୍କୁ କୁହ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ପାର ହୋଇ କିଣାନ ଦେଶରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲେ, BSB BSB: “Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When you cross the Jordan into the land of Canaan,
11 ULB ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କର ଆଶ୍ରୟ ନଗର ହେବା ନିମନ୍ତେ କେତେଗୁଡ଼ିଏ ନଗର ନିରୂପଣ କରିବ, ତହିଁରେ ଯେଉଁ ଜନ ଭ୍ରାନ୍ତିରେ କୌଣସି ମନୁଷ୍ୟକୁ ବଧ କରେ, ଏପରି ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀ ସେଠାକୁ ପଳାଇ ଯାଇ ପାରିବ। BSB BSB: designate cities to serve as your cities of refuge, so that a person who kills someone unintentionally may flee there.
12 ULB ପୁଣି, ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀ ବିଚାରାର୍ଥେ ମଣ୍ଡଳୀ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଯେପରି ନ ମରେ, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ସେହି ନଗରମାନ ପ୍ରତିହନ୍ତାଠାରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଆଶ୍ରୟ ସ୍ଥାନ ହେବ; BSB BSB: You are to have these cities as a refuge from the avenger, so that the manslayer will not die until he stands trial before the assembly.
13 ULB ଏହିରୂପେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେଉଁ ଯେଉଁ ନଗର ଦେବ, ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଛଅ ଆଶ୍ରୟ ନଗର ହେବ। BSB BSB: The cities you select will be your six cities of refuge.
14 ULB ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନର ପୂର୍ବପାରିରେ ତିନି ନଗର ଦେବ ଓ କିଣାନ ଦେଶ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ତିନି ନଗର ଦେବ; ତାହାସବୁ ଆଶ୍ରୟ ନଗର ହେବ। BSB BSB: Select three cities across the Jordan and three in the land of Canaan as cities of refuge.
15 ULB ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ବିଦେଶୀ ଓ ପ୍ରବାସୀ ନିମନ୍ତେ ସେହି ଛଅ ନଗର ଆଶ୍ରୟ ସ୍ଥାନ ହେବ; ତହିଁରେ ଯେଉଁ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଜନ ଭ୍ରାନ୍ତିରେ କୌଣସି ମନୁଷ୍ୟକୁ ବଧ କରେ, ସେ ସେହି ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ପଳାଇ ଯାଇ ପାରେ। BSB BSB: These six cities will serve as a refuge for the Israelites and for the foreigner or stranger among them, so that anyone who kills a person unintentionally may flee there.
16 ULB ମାତ୍ର ଯଦି କେହି ଲୌହ ଅସ୍ତ୍ର ଦ୍ୱାରା କାହାରିକୁ ଏପରି ଆଘାତ କରେ ଯେ, ତହିଁରେ ସେ ମରେ, ତେବେ ସେ ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀ; ସେହି ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀର ଅବଶ୍ୟ ପ୍ରାଣଦଣ୍ଡ ହେବ। BSB BSB: If, however, anyone strikes a person with an iron object and kills him, he is a murderer; the murderer must surely be put to death.
17 ULB ଆଉ ଯାହା ଦ୍ୱାରା ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ମରିପାରେ, ଏପରି ପଥର ହସ୍ତରେ ନେଇ ଯଦି ସେ କାହାକୁ ଆଘାତ କରେ ଓ ତହିଁରେ ସେ ମରେ, ତେବେ ସେ ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀ; ସେହି ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀର ଅବଶ୍ୟ ପ୍ରାଣଦଣ୍ଡ ହେବ। BSB BSB: Or if anyone has in his hand a stone of deadly size, and he strikes and kills another, he is a murderer; the murderer must surely be put to death.
18 ULB ଅବା ଯାହା ଦ୍ୱାରା ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ମରିପାରେ, ଏପରି କୌଣସି କାଷ୍ଠ-ଅସ୍ତ୍ର ହସ୍ତରେ ନେଇ ଯଦି ସେ କାହାକୁ ଆଘାତ କରେ ଓ ତହିଁରେ ସେ ମରେ, ତେବେ ସେ ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀ; ସେହି ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀର ଅବଶ୍ୟ ପ୍ରାଣଦଣ୍ଡ ହେବ। BSB BSB: If anyone has in his hand a deadly object of wood, and he strikes and kills another, he is a murderer; the murderer must surely be put to death.
19 ULB ରକ୍ତର ପ୍ରତିହନ୍ତା ନିଜେ ସେହି ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀକୁ ବଧ କରିବ; ସେ ତାହାର ଦେଖା ପାଇଲେ ତାହାକୁ ବଧ କରିବ। BSB BSB: The avenger of blood is to put the murderer to death; when he finds him, he is to kill him.
20 ULB ଆଉ ଯଦି ହିଂସା କରି କେହି କାହାକୁ ଧକ୍କା ମାରେ, ଅବା ଛକି ବସି ତାହା ଉପରେ କିଛି ପକାଏ ଓ ତହିଁରେ ସେ ମରେ; BSB BSB: Likewise, if anyone maliciously pushes another or intentionally throws an object at him and kills him,
21 ULB କିଅବା ଶତ୍ରୁତା କରି ଯଦି ସେ କାହାକୁ ଆପଣା ହସ୍ତରେ ଆଘାତ କରେ ଓ ତହିଁରେ ସେ ମରେ, ତେବେ ଯେ ତାହାକୁ ଆଘାତ କଲା, ତାହାର ଅବଶ୍ୟ ପ୍ରାଣଦଣ୍ଡ ହେବ; ସେ ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀ ରକ୍ତର ପ୍ରତିହନ୍ତା ସେହି ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀର ଦେଖା ପାଇଲେ ତାହାକୁ ବଧ କରିବ। BSB BSB: or if in hostility he strikes him with his hand and he dies, the one who struck him must surely be put to death; he is a murderer. When the avenger of blood finds the murderer, he is to kill him.
22 ULB ମାତ୍ର ଯଦି କେହି ଶତ୍ରୁତା ବିନା ହଠାତ୍ କାହାକୁ ଆଘାତ କରେ, ଅବା ଛକି ନ ବସି କାହା ଉପରେ କୌଣସି ଅସ୍ତ୍ର ପକାଏ, BSB BSB: But if anyone pushes a person suddenly, without hostility, or throws an object at him unintentionally,
23 ULB କିଅବା ଯାହା ଦ୍ୱାରା ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ମରିପାରେ, ଏପରି କୌଣସି ପଥର କାହାରି ଉପରେ ନ ଦେଖି ପକାଏ ଓ ତହିଁରେ ସେ ମରେ, ଅଥଚ ସେ ତାହାର ଶତ୍ରୁ କି ଅନିଷ୍ଟ ଚେଷ୍ଟାକାରୀ ହୋଇ ନ ଥାଏ, BSB BSB: or without looking drops a heavy stone that kills him, but he was not an enemy and did not intend to harm him,
24 ULB ତେବେ ମଣ୍ଡଳୀ ସେହି ବଧକାରୀର ଓ ରକ୍ତର ପ୍ରତିହନ୍ତାର ବିଷୟ ଏହି ଶାସନାନୁସାରେ ବିଚାର କରିବେ। BSB BSB: then the congregation must judge between the slayer and the avenger of blood according to these ordinances.
25 ULB ଆଉ ମଣ୍ଡଳୀ ରକ୍ତର ପ୍ରତିହନ୍ତାର ହସ୍ତରୁ ସେହି ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀକୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କରିବେ; ପୁଣି, ସେ ଯେଉଁ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ପଳାଇ ଯାଇଥିଲା, ସେହି ଆଶ୍ରୟ ନଗରରେ ମଣ୍ଡଳୀ ପୁନର୍ବାର ତାହାକୁ ପହୁଞ୍ଚାଇ ଦେବେ ଓ ଯେପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ପବିତ୍ର ତୈଳରେ ଅଭିଷିକ୍ତ ମହାଯାଜକର ମୃତ୍ୟୁୁ ନ ହୁଏ, ସେ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସେ ସେହି ସ୍ଥାନରେ ବାସ କରିବ। BSB BSB: The assembly is to protect the manslayer from the hand of the avenger of blood. Then the assembly will return him to the city of refuge to which he fled, and he must live there until the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the holy oil.
26 ULB ମାତ୍ର ସେହି ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀ ଯେଉଁ ଆଶ୍ରୟ ନଗରକୁ ପଳାଇଅଛି, ଯଦି କୌଣସି ସମୟରେ ସେ ତହିଁର ସୀମାର ବାହାରକୁ ଯାଏ BSB BSB: But if the manslayer ever goes outside the limits of the city of refuge to which he fled
27 ULB ଓ ରକ୍ତର ପ୍ରତିହନ୍ତା ଆଶ୍ରୟ ନଗର-ସୀମାର ବାହାରେ ତାହାକୁ ପାଏ ଓ ତହିଁର ପ୍ରତିହନ୍ତା ତାହାକୁ ବଧ କରେ, ତେବେ ସେ ରକ୍ତପାତର ଅପରାଧୀ ହେବ ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: and the avenger of blood finds him outside of his city of refuge and kills him, then the avenger will not be guilty of bloodshed,
28 ULB କାରଣ ମହାଯାଜକର ମୃତ୍ୟୁୁ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଆପଣା ଆଶ୍ରୟ ନଗରରେ ତାହାର ଥିବା ଉଚିତ୍; ମାତ୍ର ମହାଯାଜକର ମୃତ୍ୟୁୁ ହେଲା ଉତ୍ତାରେ ସେହି ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀ ଆପଣା ଅଧିକାର ଗୃହକୁ ଫେରି ଯାଇ ପାରିବ। BSB BSB: because the manslayer must remain in his city of refuge until the death of the high priest. Only after the death of the high priest may he return to the land he owns.
29 ULB ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପୁରୁଷାନୁକ୍ରମେ ସକଳ ନିବାସ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଏହିସବୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ବିଚାରର ବିଧି ହେବ। BSB BSB: This will be a statutory ordinance for you for the generations to come, wherever you live.
30 ULB ଯେଉଁ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି କୌଣସି ଲୋକକୁ ବଧ କରେ, ସେହି ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀ ସାକ୍ଷୀମାନଙ୍କ ସାକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ଦ୍ୱାରା ହତ ହେବ; ମାତ୍ର ଏକ ସାକ୍ଷୀର ସାକ୍ଷ୍ୟ କୌଣସି ଲୋକର ପ୍ରତିକୂଳରେ ପ୍ରାଣଦଣ୍ଡ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଗ୍ରାହ୍ୟ ହେବ ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: If anyone kills a person, the murderer is to be put to death on the testimony of the witnesses. But no one is to be put to death based on the testimony of a lone witness.
32 ULB ପୁଣି, କେହି ଯେପରି ଆପଣା ଆଶ୍ରୟ ନଗରକୁ ପଳାଇ ପୁନର୍ବାର ଆପଣା ଦେଶକୁ ଆସି ବାସ କରେ, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯାଜକର ମରଣ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ତାହା ନିମନ୍ତେ କୌଣସି ପ୍ରାୟଶ୍ଚିତ୍ତ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବ ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: Nor should you accept a ransom for the person who flees to a city of refuge and allow him to return and live on his own land before the death of the high priest.
33 ULB ଏହିରୂପେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ନିବାସ ଦେଶ ଅପବିତ୍ର କରିବ ନାହିଁ; କାରଣ ରକ୍ତ ହିଁ ଦେଶକୁ ଅପବିତ୍ର କରେ; ଆଉ ଦେଶରେ ଯେଉଁ ରକ୍ତପାତ ହୁଏ, ରକ୍ତପାତୀର ରକ୍ତ ବିନା ତହିଁ ନିମନ୍ତେ କୌଣସି ପ୍ରାୟଶ୍ଚିତ୍ତ କରାଯାଇ ନ ପାରେ। BSB BSB: Do not pollute the land where you live, for bloodshed pollutes the land, and no atonement can be made for the land on which the blood is shed, except by the blood of the one who shed it.
34 ULB ଏଣୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଯେଉଁ ନିବାସ ଦେଶରେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ବାସ କରୁଅଛୁ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାହା ଅଶୁଚି କରିବ ନାହିଁ; କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ବାସ କରୁଅଛୁ।” BSB BSB: Do not defile the land where you live and where I dwell. For I, the LORD, dwell among the Israelites.”
