2 ULB ମୁଁ ଦୃଷ୍ଟାନ୍ତ-କଥାରେ ଆପଣା ମୁଖ ଫିଟାଇବି; ମୁଁ ପୂର୍ବକାଳର ଗୂଢ଼ ବାକ୍ୟସବୁ ପ୍ରକାଶ କରିବି; BSB BSB: I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things hidden from the beginning,
3 ULB ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତାହାସବୁ ଶୁଣି ଜାଣିଅଛୁ ଓ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପିତୃଗଣ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଜଣାଇ ଅଛନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: that we have heard and known and our fathers have relayed to us.
4 ULB ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତାହାସବୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସନ୍ତାନଗଣଠାରୁ ଗୁପ୍ତ ରଖିବା ନାହିଁ, ଆସନ୍ତା ପିଢ଼ି ନିକଟରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ପ୍ରଶଂସା ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କର ପରାକ୍ରମ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ କୃତ ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ଯ୍ୟ କର୍ମସକଳ ବର୍ଣ୍ଣନା କରିବା। BSB BSB: We will not hide them from their children but will declare to the next generation the praises of the LORD and His might and the wonders He has performed.
5 ULB କାରଣ ସେ ଯାକୁବ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଏକ ସାକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ସ୍ଥାପନ କଲେ ଓ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଏକ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା ନିରୂପଣ କଲେ, ଆପଣା ସନ୍ତାନଗଣକୁ ତାହା ଜଣାଇବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପିତୃଗଣକୁ ଆଜ୍ଞା କଲେ; BSB BSB: For He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers to teach to their children,
6 ULB ଯେପରି ଆସନ୍ତା ପୁରୁଷ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍, ଯେଉଁ ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ଜାତ ହେବେ, ସେମାନେ ଜାଣିବେ ଓ ଉଠି ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ସନ୍ତାନଗଣକୁ ତାହା ଜଣାଇବେ; BSB BSB: that the coming generation would know them—even children yet to be born—to arise and tell their own children
7 ULB ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ ଯେପରି ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କଠାରେ ଭରସା ରଖି ପାରିବେ ଓ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ କ୍ରିୟାସକଳ ପାସୋରି ନ ଯିବେ, ମାତ୍ର ତାହାଙ୍କ ଆଜ୍ଞାସବୁ ପାଳନ କରିବେ; BSB BSB: that they should put their confidence in God, not forgetting His works, but keeping His commandments.
8 ULB ପୁଣି, ଆପଣା ପିତୃଗଣ ତୁଲ୍ୟ ଅବାଧ୍ୟ ଓ ବିଦ୍ରୋହୀ ବଂଶ ହେବେ ନାହିଁ; ସେହି ବଂଶ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣ ଯଥାର୍ଥ ରୂପେ ସୁସ୍ଥିର କଲେ ନାହିଁ; ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଆତ୍ମା ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ବିଶ୍ୱସ୍ତ ନ ଥିଲା। BSB BSB: Then they will not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, whose heart was not loyal, whose spirit was not faithful to God.
9 ULB ଇଫ୍ରୟିମର ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ସସଜ୍ଜ ଓ ଧନୁର୍ଦ୍ଧର ହୋଇ ସଂଗ୍ରାମ ଦିନରେ ହଟିଗଲେ। BSB BSB: The archers of Ephraim turned back on the day of battle.
10 ULB ସେମାନେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ନିୟମ ପାଳନ କଲେ ନାହିଁ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥାନୁସାରେ ଚାଲିବା ପାଇଁ ଅସ୍ୱୀକାର କଲେ; BSB BSB: They failed to keep God’s covenant and refused to live by His law.
11 ULB ସେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟସକଳ, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ପ୍ରକାଶିତ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ଯ୍ୟ କ୍ରିୟାସକଳ ଭୁଲି ଗଲେ। BSB BSB: They forgot what He had done, the wonders He had shown them.
12 ULB ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପିତୃଗଣ ସାକ୍ଷାତରେ ମିସର ଦେଶରେ, ସୋୟନ-ପଦାରେ ନାନା ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ଯ୍ୟ କର୍ମ କଲେ। BSB BSB: He worked wonders before their fathers in the land of Egypt, in the region of Zoan.
13 ULB ସେ ସମୁଦ୍ରକୁ ବିଭକ୍ତ କରି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ପାର କରାଇଲେ; ପୁଣି, ସେ ଜଳସମୂହକୁ ରାଶୀ ରୂପେ ଠିଆ କରାଇଲେ। BSB BSB: He split the sea and brought them through; He set the waters upright like a wall.
14 ULB ଦିବସରେ ସେ ମେଘ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଓ ରାତ୍ରିରେ ଅଗ୍ନିତେଜ ଦ୍ୱାରା ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ପଥ କଢ଼ାଇ ନେଲେ। BSB BSB: He led them with a cloud by day and with a light of fire all night.
15 ULB ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରରେ ସେ ଶୈଳମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିଦୀର୍ଣ୍ଣ କଲେ, ପୁଣି, ଯେପରି ଅଗାଧସ୍ଥଳରୁ, ସେପରି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରଚୁର ଜଳ ପାନ କରାଇଲେ। BSB BSB: He split the rocks in the wilderness and gave them drink as abundant as the seas.
16 ULB ସେ ଶୈଳରୁ ସ୍ରୋତ ବାହାର କଲେ ଓ ନଦୀ ତୁଲ୍ୟ ଜଳ ବହାଇଲେ। BSB BSB: He brought streams from the stone and made water flow down like rivers.
17 ULB ତଥାପି ସେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ପାପ କରିବାକୁ ଓ ମରୁଭୂମିରେ ସର୍ବୋପରିସ୍ଥଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତିକୂଳରେ ବିଦ୍ରୋହାଚରଣ କରିବାକୁ ନିରସ୍ତ ନୋହିଲେ। BSB BSB: But they continued to sin against Him, rebelling in the desert against the Most High.
18 ULB ପୁଣି, ସେମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ଅଭିଳାଷ ପୂରଣାର୍ଥେ ଭକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ମାଗି ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ମନରେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କର ପରୀକ୍ଷା କଲେ। BSB BSB: They willfully tested God by demanding the food they craved.
19 ULB ହଁ, ସେମାନେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତିକୂଳରେ କଥା କହିଲେ; ସେମାନେ କହିଲେ, “ପରମେଶ୍ୱର କି ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରରେ ମେଜ ସଜାଇ ପାରିବେ? BSB BSB: They spoke against God, saying, “Can God really prepare a table in the wilderness?
20 ULB ଦେଖ, ସେ ଶୈଳକୁ ଆଘାତ କରନ୍ତେ, ଜଳ ନିର୍ଗତ ହେଲା ଓ ସ୍ରୋତ ପ୍ରବାହିତ ହେଲା; ସେ କି ଅନ୍ନ ମଧ୍ୟ ଦେଇ ପାରନ୍ତି? ସେ କି ଆପଣା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ମାଂସ ଯୋଗାଇବେ?” BSB BSB: When He struck the rock, water gushed out and torrents raged. But can He also give bread or supply His people with meat?”
21 ULB ଏହେତୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଶୁଣି କୋପାନ୍ୱିତ ହେଲେ ଓ ଯାକୁବ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଅଗ୍ନି ପ୍ରଜ୍ୱଳିତ ହେଲା ଓ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ମଧ୍ୟ କ୍ରୋଧ ଉଠିଲା; BSB BSB: Therefore the LORD heard and was filled with wrath; so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and His anger flared against Israel,
22 ULB କାରଣ ସେମାନେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କଠାରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କଲେ ନାହିଁ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପରିତ୍ରାଣରେ ନିର୍ଭର ରଖିଲେ ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: because they did not believe God or rely on His salvation.
23 ULB ତଥାପି ସେ ଉପରିସ୍ଥ ମେଘମାଳକୁ ଆଜ୍ଞା କଲେ ଓ ଆକାଶର ଦ୍ୱାର ମୁକ୍ତ କଲେ। BSB BSB: Yet He commanded the clouds above and opened the doors of the heavens.
24 ULB ଆଉ, ସେ ଭୋଜନାର୍ଥେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ମାନ୍ନା ବର୍ଷାଇଲେ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ସ୍ୱର୍ଗର ଶସ୍ୟ ପ୍ରଦାନ କଲେ। BSB BSB: He rained down manna for them to eat; He gave them grain from heaven.
25 ULB ପରାକ୍ରମୀଗଣର ଆହାର ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ଭୋଜନ କଲା; ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ତୃପ୍ତି ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଭକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ପଠାଇଲେ। BSB BSB: Man ate the bread of angels; He sent them food in abundance.
26 ULB ସେ ଆକାଶରେ ପୂର୍ବୀୟ ବାୟୁ ବହାଇଲେ ଓ ନିଜ ପରାକ୍ରମ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଦକ୍ଷିଣ ବାୟୁ ଚଳାଇଲେ। BSB BSB: He stirred the east wind from the heavens and drove the south wind by His might.
27 ULB ମଧ୍ୟ ସେ ଧୂଳି ପରି ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ମାଂସ ବର୍ଷାଇଲେ, ପୁଣି, ସମୁଦ୍ରର ବାଲି ପରି ପକ୍ଷୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ବର୍ଷାଇଲେ; BSB BSB: He rained meat on them like dust, and winged birds like the sand of the sea.
28 ULB ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଛାଉଣି ମଧ୍ୟରେ, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଆବାସର ଚତୁର୍ଦ୍ଦିଗରେ ତାହା ବର୍ଷାଇଲେ। BSB BSB: He felled them in the midst of their camp, all around their dwellings.
29 ULB ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ ଭୋଜନ କରି ପରିତୃପ୍ତ ହେଲେ ଓ ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଅଭିଳାଷିତ ବିଷୟ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରଦାନ କଲେ। BSB BSB: So they ate and were well filled, for He gave them what they craved.
30 ULB ଅଭିଳାଷିତ ବିଷୟରୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସ୍ନେହ ଭଙ୍ଗ ନୋହୁଣୁ, ଖାଦ୍ୟ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମୁଖରେ ଥାଉ ଥାଉ BSB BSB: Yet before they had filled their desire, with the food still in their mouths,
31 ULB ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ କ୍ରୋଧ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତିକୂଳରେ ଉଠିଲା ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ହୃଷ୍ଟପୁଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ବଧ କଲା, ପୁଣି, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ଯୁବାଗଣକୁ ସଂହାର କଲା। BSB BSB: God’s anger flared against them, and He put to death their strongest and subdued the young men of Israel.
32 ULB ଏସବୁ ହେଲେ ହେଁ ସେମାନେ ପୁନର୍ବାର ପାପ କଲେ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ଯ୍ୟ କ୍ରିୟାରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କଲେ ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: In spite of all this, they kept on sinning; despite His wonderful works, they did not believe.
33 ULB ଏହେତୁ ସେ ଅସାରତାରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଦିନ ଓ ଆତଙ୍କରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ବର୍ଷସବୁ କ୍ଷେପଣ କରାଇଲେ, BSB BSB: So He ended their days in futility, and their years in sudden terror.
34 ULB ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କଲା ବେଳେ, ସେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଖୋଜିଲେ; ଆଉ, ଫେରି ଶୀଘ୍ର ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଅନ୍ୱେଷଣ କଲେ। BSB BSB: When He slew them, they would seek Him; they repented and searched for God.
35 ULB ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଯେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଶୈଳ ଓ ସର୍ବୋପରିସ୍ଥ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଯେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ମୁକ୍ତିକର୍ତ୍ତା, ଏହା ସ୍ମରଣ କଲେ। BSB BSB: And they remembered that God was their Rock, that God Most High was their Redeemer.
36 ULB ମାତ୍ର ସେମାନେ ମୁଖରେ ତାହାଙ୍କର ଚାଟୁବାଦ କଲେ ଓ ଜିହ୍ୱାରେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ମିଥ୍ୟା କହିଲେ। BSB BSB: But they deceived Him with their mouths, and lied to Him with their tongues.
37 ULB କାରଣ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ସ୍ଥିର ନ ଥିଲା, କିଅବା ସେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ନିୟମରେ ବିଶ୍ୱସ୍ତ ନ ଥିଲେ। BSB BSB: Their hearts were disloyal to Him, and they were unfaithful to His covenant.
38 ULB ମାତ୍ର ସେ ସ୍ନେହଶୀଳ ହେବାରୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଅପରାଧ କ୍ଷମା କରି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଧ୍ୱଂସ କଲେ ନାହିଁ; ପୁଣି, ସେ ଅନେକ ଥର ଆପଣା କ୍ରୋଧ ସମ୍ବରଣ କରି ଆପଣା କୋପ ଉତ୍ତେଜ କଲେ ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: And yet He was compassionate; He forgave their iniquity and did not destroy them. He often restrained His anger and did not unleash His full wrath.
39 ULB ଆଉ, ସେମାନେ ଯେ ମାଂସମାତ୍ର ଓ ବହିଯାଇ ଫେରି ନ ଆସିବା ବାୟୁ ସ୍ୱରୂପ, ଏହା ସେ ସ୍ମରଣ କଲେ। BSB BSB: He remembered that they were but flesh, a passing breeze that does not return.
40 ULB ସେମାନେ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତର ମଧ୍ୟରେ କେତେ ଥର ତାହାଙ୍କର ବିଦ୍ରୋହୀ ହେଲେ ଓ ମରୁଭୂମିରେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଅସନ୍ତୁଷ୍ଟ କଲେ। BSB BSB: How often they disobeyed Him in the wilderness and grieved Him in the desert!
41 ULB ସେମାନେ ପୁନର୍ବାର ବିମୁଖ ହୋଇ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କୁ ପରୀକ୍ଷା କଲେ ଓ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ଧର୍ମସ୍ୱରୂପଙ୍କୁ ବିରକ୍ତ କଲେ। BSB BSB: Again and again they tested God and provoked the Holy One of Israel.
42 ULB ସେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କର ହସ୍ତ ଓ ଯେଉଁ ଦିନ ସେ ବିପକ୍ଷଠାରୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ମୁକ୍ତ କଲେ, ସେହି ଦିନ BSB BSB: They did not remember His power—the day He redeemed them from the adversary,
43 ULB ଆଉ, ସେ କିରୂପେ ମିସରରେ ଆପଣା ଚିହ୍ନ ଓ ସୋୟନ-ପଦାରେ ଆପଣାର ଅଦ୍ଭୁତ ଲକ୍ଷଣ ସ୍ଥାପନ କଲେ; BSB BSB: when He performed His signs in Egypt and His wonders in the fields of Zoan.
44 ULB ପୁଣି, ସେମାନଙ୍କର ନଦୀ ଓ ସ୍ରୋତସବୁ ରକ୍ତମୟ କରିବାରୁ ସେମାନେ ପାନ କରି ପାରିଲେ ନାହିଁ, ଏହାସବୁ ସ୍ମରଣ କଲେ ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: He turned their rivers to blood, and from their streams they could not drink.
45 ULB ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟକୁ ଦଂଶକ ଝିଙ୍କ ପଠାଇଲେ, ସେସବୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଗ୍ରାସ କଲେ ଓ ବେଙ୍ଗ ପଠାଇଲେ, ସେସବୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିନାଶ କଲେ। BSB BSB: He sent swarms of flies that devoured them, and frogs that devastated them.
46 ULB ମଧ୍ୟ ସେ କୀଟକୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଭୂମିର ଫଳ ଓ ପଙ୍ଗପାଳକୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପରିଶ୍ରମର ଫଳ ଦେଲେ। BSB BSB: He gave their crops to the grasshopper, the fruit of their labor to the locust.
47 ULB ସେ ଶିଳା ଦ୍ୱାରା ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାଲତା ଓ ହିମ ଦ୍ୱାରା ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଡିମ୍ବିରି ବୃକ୍ଷ ନଷ୍ଟ କଲେ। BSB BSB: He killed their vines with hailstones and their sycamore-figs with sleet.
48 ULB ଆହୁରି, ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପଶୁଗଣକୁ ଶିଳାରେ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପଲସବୁକୁ ପ୍ରଜ୍ୱଳିତ ବଜ୍ରାଘାତରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କଲେ। BSB BSB: He abandoned their cattle to the hail and their livestock to bolts of lightning.
49 ULB ସେ ଆପଣା କ୍ରୋଧର ପ୍ରଚଣ୍ଡତା, କୋପ ଓ ରୋଷ ଓ ସଙ୍କଟରୂପ ଅନିଷ୍ଟର ଦୂତଦଳ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ପଠାଇଲେ। BSB BSB: He unleashed His fury against them, wrath, indignation, and calamity—a band of destroying angels.
50 ULB ସେ ନିଜ କ୍ରୋଧ ପାଇଁ ପଥ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କଲେ, ସେ ମୃତ୍ୟୁୁରୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରାଣ ରକ୍ଷା କଲେ ନାହିଁ, ମାତ୍ର ମହାମାରୀରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଜୀବନ ସମର୍ପଣ କଲେ; BSB BSB: He cleared a path for His anger; He did not spare them from death but delivered their lives to the plague.
51 ULB ସେ ମିସରରେ ପ୍ରଥମଜାତ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ, ହାମ୍ର ତମ୍ବୁରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଶକ୍ତିର ପ୍ରଥମ ଫଳକୁ ଆଘାତ କଲେ; BSB BSB: He struck all the firstborn of Egypt, the virility in the tents of Ham.
52 ULB ମାତ୍ର ସେ ଆପଣା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ମେଷଗଣ ତୁଲ୍ୟ ଚଳାଇଲେ ଓ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ପଲ ପରି କଢ଼ାଇ ନେଲେ। BSB BSB: He led out His people like sheep and guided them like a flock in the wilderness.
53 ULB ପୁଣି, ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ନିରାପଦରେ ଚଳାଇଲେ, ତେଣୁ ସେମାନେ ଉଦ୍ବିଗ୍ନ ନୋହିଲେ, ମାତ୍ର ସମୁଦ୍ର ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଶତ୍ରୁଗଣକୁ ମଗ୍ନ କଲା। BSB BSB: He led them safely, so they did not fear, but the sea engulfed their enemies.
54 ULB ଆଉ, ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆପଣା ପବିତ୍ର ସୀମାକୁ ଓ ଆପଣା ଦକ୍ଷିଣ ହସ୍ତ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଲବ୍ଧ ଏହି ପର୍ବତକୁ ଆଣିଲେ। BSB BSB: He brought them to His holy land, to the mountain His right hand had acquired.
55 ULB ଆହୁରି, ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଆଗରୁ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀୟବର୍ଗଙ୍କୁ ତଡ଼ି ଦେଲେ ଓ ଅଧିକାରାର୍ଥେ ପରିମାପକ ରଜ୍ଜୁ ଦ୍ୱାରା ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିଭାଗ କରି ଦେଲେ ଓ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀବର୍ଗକୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ତମ୍ବୁରେ ବାସ କରାଇଲେ। BSB BSB: He drove out nations before them and apportioned their inheritance; He settled the tribes of Israel in their tents.
