1 ULB ਭਾਵੇਂ ਮੈਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਵਰਗੀ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਬੋਲਾਂ ਪਰ ਜੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਠਣ ਠਣ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਿੱਤਲ ਅਥਵਾ ਛਣ ਛਣ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਛੈਣਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਹਾਂ। BSB BSB: If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a ringing gong or a clanging cymbal.
2 ULB ਅਤੇ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭਵਿੱਖਬਾਣੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਆਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਸਾਰਾ ਭੇਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਜਾਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਮੈਂ ਪੂਰੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਰੱਖਾਂ, ਅਜਿਹੀ ਜੋ ਪਹਾੜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਟਾ ਦੇਵਾਂ ਪਰ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾ ਰੱਖਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਕੁੱਝ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ। BSB BSB: If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have absolute faith so as to move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
3 ULB ਅਤੇ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਮਾਲ ਖੁਆਉਣ ਲਈ ਪੁੰਨ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਸੜਨ ਲਈ ਦੇ ਦਿਆਂ ਪਰ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾ ਰੱਖਾਂ, ਤਾਂ ਕੁੱਝ ਵੀ ਲਾਭ ਨਹੀਂ। BSB BSB: If I give all I possess to the poor and exult in the surrender of my body, but have not love, I gain nothing.
4 ULB ਪਿਆਰ ਧੀਰਜਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਰਪਾਲੂ ਹੈ। ਪਿਆਰ ਖੁਣਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ। ਪਿਆਰ ਫੁੱਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਪਿਆਰ ਫੂੰ-ਫੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ। BSB BSB: Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
5 ULB ਕੁਚੱਜਿਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਆਪ ਸੁਆਰਥੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਚਿੜਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਬੁਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਦਾ। BSB BSB: It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no account of wrongs.
6 ULB ਉਹ ਕੁਧਰਮ ਤੋਂ ਅਨੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸਗੋਂ ਸਚਿਆਈ ਨਾਲ ਅਨੰਦ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। BSB BSB: Love takes no pleasure in evil, but rejoices in the truth.
7 ULB ਸਭ ਕੁੱਝ ਝੱਲ ਲੈਂਦਾ, ਸਭਨਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਰਤੀਤ ਕਰਦਾ, ਸਭਨਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਰੱਖਦਾ, ਸਭ ਕੁੱਝ ਸਹਿ ਲੈਂਦਾ। BSB BSB: It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 ULB ਪਿਆਰ ਕਦੇ ਟਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਪਰ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਅਗੰਮ ਵਾਕ ਹੋਣ ਉਹ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਣਗੇ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਹੋਣ ਉਹ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਰਹਿਣਗੀਆਂ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਗਿਆਨ ਹੋਵੇ ਉਹ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। BSB BSB: Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be restrained; where there is knowledge, it will be dismissed.
9 ULB ਅਸੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਕੁੱਝ ਕੁੱਝ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੁੱਝ ਕੁੱਝ ਭਵਿੱਖਬਾਣੀ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਾਂ। BSB BSB: For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
10 ULB ਪਰ ਜਦ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਆਵੇ ਤਦ ਅਧੂਰਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। BSB BSB: but when the perfect comes, the partial passes away.
11 ULB ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਨਿਆਣਾ ਸੀ ਤਦ ਨਿਆਣੇ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੋਲਦਾ, ਨਿਆਣੇ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਣੇ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਂਚਦਾ ਸੀ। ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਨਿਆਣਪੁਣੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ। BSB BSB: When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I set aside childish ways.
12 ULB ਇਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਧੁੰਦਲਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਪਰ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਆਹਮੋਂ-ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਵੇਖਾਂਗੇ। ਇਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਮੈਂ ਕੁੱਝ ਕੁੱਝ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਪਰ ਓਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਜਾਣਾਂਗਾ ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ। BSB BSB: Now we see but a dim reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 ULB ਹੁਣ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ, ਆਸ, ਪਿਆਰ, ਇਹ ਤਿੰਨੇ ਬਣੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉੱਤਮ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੀ ਹੈ। BSB BSB: And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love; but the greatest of these is love.
