1ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।So King Solomon ruled over Israel,

2ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਇਹ ਸਨ: ਸਾਦੋਕ ਜਾਜਕ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਜ਼ਰਯਾਹ ਜਾਜਕ ਸੀ,and these were his chief officials: Azariah son of Zadok was the priest;

3ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਲੀ ਹੋਰਫ ਅਤੇ ਅਹੀਯਾਹ ਲਿਖਾਰੀ ਸਨ, ਅਹੀਲੂਦ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫਾਟ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਦਾ ਲਿਖਾਰੀ ਸੀ,Elihoreph and Ahijah, the sons of Shisha, were secretaries; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was the recorder;

4ਯਹੋਯਾਦਾ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਨਾਯਾਹ ਸੈਨਾਪਤੀ ਸੀ, ਸਾਦੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਅਬਯਾਥਾਰ ਜਾਜਕ ਸਨ,Benaiah son of Jehoiada was in charge of the army; Zadok and Abiathar were priests;

5ਨਾਥਾਨ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਜ਼ਰਯਾਹ ਭੰਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਥਾਨ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜ਼ਾਬੂਦ ਜਾਜਕ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਸੀ,Azariah son of Nathan was in charge of the governors; Zabud son of Nathan was a priest and adviser to the king;

6ਅਹੀਸ਼ਾਰ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਬਦਾ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਦੋਨੀਰਾਮ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੀ ਜਿੰਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਧੱਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ।Ahishar was in charge of the palace; and Adoniram son of Abda was in charge of the forced labor.

7ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਭੰਡਾਰੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਏ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਲਈ ਰਸਤ ਲਿਆਉਣ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ-ਇੱਕ ਜਣਾ ਸਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਮਹੀਨਾ ਰਸਤ ਲਿਆਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ।Solomon had twelve governors over all Israel to provide food for the king and his household. Each one would arrange provisions for one month of the year,

8ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਇਹ ਸਨ, ਬਨਹੂਰ ਅਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ;and these were their names: Ben-hur in the hill country of Ephraim;

9ਬਨ-ਦਕਰ ਮਾਕਸ, ਸਆਲਬੀਮ, ਬੈਤ-ਸ਼ਮਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਏਲੋਨ-ਬੈਤ-ਹਨਾਨ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ;Ben-deker in Makaz, in Shaalbim, in Beth-shemesh, and in Elon-beth-hanan;

10ਬਨ-ਹਸਦ ਅਰੁਬੋਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਸ ਲਈ ਸੋਕੋਹ ਅਤੇ ਹੇਫਰ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਦੇਸ ਸੀ;Ben-hesed in Arubboth (Socoh and all the land of Hepher belonged to him);

11ਬਨ ਅਬੀਨਾਦਾਬ ਦੋਰ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਟਾਫਥ ਸੀ;Ben-abinadab in Naphath-dor (Taphath, a daughter of Solomon, was his wife);

12ਅਹੀਲੂਦ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਆਨਾ ਤਾਨਾਕ, ਮਗਿੱਦੋ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਬੈਤ-ਸ਼ਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਾਰਥਾਨਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਜ਼ਰਾਏਲ ਦੀ ਨਿਵਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ ਬੈਤ-ਸ਼ਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਆਬੇਲ ਮਹੋਲਾਹ ਤੱਕ ਅਤੇ ਯਾਕਮਆਮ ਦੇ ਪਾਰ ਤੱਕ;Baana son of Ahilud in Taanach, in Megiddo, and in all of Beth-shean next to Zarethan below Jezreel, from Beth-shean to Abel-meholah and on past Jokmeam;

13ਬਨ ਗਬਰ ਰਾਮੋਥ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਮੱਨਸ਼ਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਾਈਰ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਜੋ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਰਗੋਬ ਦੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੋ ਬਾਸ਼ਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਸੱਠ ਵੱਡੇ ਅਤੇ ਫਸੀਲ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਿੱਤਲ ਦੇ ਅਰਲਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਨ;Ben-geber in Ramoth-gilead (the villages of Jair son of Manasseh in Gilead belonged to him, as well as the region of Argob in Bashan with its sixty great cities with walls and bronze bars);

14ਇੱਦੋ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਹੀਨਾਦਾਬ ਮਹਨਇਮ ਵਿੱਚ;Ahinadab son of Iddo in Mahanaim;

15ਅਹੀਮਆਸ ਨਫਤਾਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਬਾਸਮਥ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਆਹ ਲਿਆ;Ahimaaz in Naphtali (he had married Basemath, a daughter of Solomon);

16ਹਸ਼ਈ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਆਨਾ ਆਸ਼ੇਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਆਲੋਥ ਵਿੱਚ;Baana son of Hushai in Asher and in Aloth;

17ਪਾਰੂਆਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫਟ ਯਿੱਸਾਕਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ;Jehoshaphat son of Paruah in Issachar;

18ਏਲਾ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸ਼ਿਮਾਈ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਵਿੱਚ;Shimei son of Ela in Benjamin;

19ਊਰੀ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਗਬਰ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੋ ਅੰਮੋਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਸੀਹੋਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਸ਼ਾਨ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਓਗ ਦਾ ਦੇਸ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਦੇਸ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਇੱਕਲਾ ਭੰਡਾਰੀ ਸੀ।Geber son of Uri in the land of Gilead, including the territories of Sihon king of the Amorites and of Og king of Bashan. There was also one governor in the land of Judah.

20ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਉਸ ਰੇਤ ਦੇ ਢੇਰ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਨ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਖਾਂਦੇ-ਪੀਂਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੰਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ।The people of Judah and Israel were as numerous as the sand on the seashore, and they were eating and drinking and rejoicing.

21ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ ਫਰਾਤ ਦਰਿਆ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਨ ਤੱਕ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੀ ਹੱਦ ਤੱਕ। ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਜ਼ਰਾਨੇ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦਿਨ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ।And Solomon reigned over all the kingdoms from the Euphrates to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt. These kingdoms offered tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life.

22ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਰਸਤ ਸੀ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਦੋ ਸੌ ਪੱਚੀ ਮਣ ਮੈਦਾ, ਚਾਰ ਸੌ ਪੰਜਾਹ ਮਣ ਆਟਾ,Solomon’s provisions for a single day were thirty cors of fine flour, sixty cors of meal,

23ਦਸ ਮੋਟੇ ਬਲ਼ਦ ਅਤੇ ਚਰਾਈ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਵੀਹ ਬਲ਼ਦ, ਇੱਕ ਸੌ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਚਿਕਾਰੇ, ਹਰਨ, ਪਾਹੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਟੇ-ਮੋਟੇ ਕੁੱਕੜ।ten fat oxen, twenty range oxen, and a hundred sheep, as well as deer, gazelles, roebucks, and fattened poultry.

24ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਦਰਿਆ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਪਾਸੇ ਤਿਫਸਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅੱਜ਼ਾਹ ਤੱਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਜੋ ਦਰਿਆ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਪਾਸੇ ਸਨ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਸਨ ਸੁਲਾਹ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਸੀ।For Solomon had dominion over everything west of the Euphrates—over all the kingdoms from Tiphsah to Gaza—and he had peace on all sides.

25ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਗੂਰ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਹੰਜ਼ੀਰ ਦੇ ਹੇਠ, ਦਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਬਏਰਸ਼ਬਾ ਤੱਕ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਮਨ ਨਾਲ ਬੈਠਦਾ ਸੀ।Throughout the days of Solomon, Judah and Israel dwelt securely from Dan to Beersheba, each man under his own vine and his own fig tree.

26ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਰੱਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਘੋੜਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਚਾਲ੍ਹੀ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਤਬੇਲੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਘੋੜ ਚੜ੍ਹੇ ਸਨ।Solomon had 4,000 stalls for his chariot horses and 12,000 horses.

27ਇਹ ਰਜਵਾੜੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਵਾਰੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਹੀਨਾ ਭਰ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੰਗਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ ਰਸਤ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਚੀਜ਼ ਦੀ ਕਮੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਸਨ।Each month the governors in turn provided food for King Solomon and all who came to his table. They saw to it that nothing was lacking.

28ਘੋੜਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਹਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਜੌਂ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੜੀ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਇਹ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ, ਓਥੋਂ ਇੱਕ-ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਰਜਾਦਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਲਿਆਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ।Each one also brought to the required place their quotas of barley and straw for the chariot horses and other horses.

29ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਝ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਵੱਧ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹਾ ਮਨ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਦੀ ਰੇਤ ਵਾਂਗੂੰAnd God gave Solomon wisdom, exceedingly deep insight, and understanding beyond measure, like the sand on the seashore.

30ਅਤੇ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੂਰਬੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਧ ਸੀ।Solomon’s wisdom was greater than that of all the men of the East, greater than all the wisdom of Egypt.

31ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਏਥਾਨ ਅਜ਼ਰਾਹੀ, ਹੇਮਾਨ, ਮਾਹੋਲ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਕਲਕੋਲ ਅਤੇ ਦਰਦਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਨ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਸੀ।He was wiser than all men—wiser than Ethan the Ezrahite, and wiser than Heman, Calcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol. And his fame spread throughout the surrounding nations.

32ਉਸ ਨੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਕਹਾਉਤਾਂ ਰਚੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਪੰਜ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਸਨ।Solomon composed three thousand proverbs, and his songs numbered a thousand and five.

33ਉਹ ਰੁੱਖਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਵੀ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਦਿਆਰ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜੋ ਲਬਾਨੋਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਜੂਫ਼ੇ ਤੱਕ ਜੋ ਕੰਧਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਛੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਘਿਸਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੱਛੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਬੋਲਿਆ।He spoke of trees, from the cedar in Lebanon to the hyssop growing in the wall, and he taught about animals, birds, reptiles, and fish.

34ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਜਾਤੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਖੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਸੁਣਨ ਲਈ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ।So men of all nations came to listen to Solomon’s wisdom, sent by all the kings of the earth, who had heard of his wisdom.
