1 ULB ਯੋਸੀਯਾਹ ਅੱਠਾਂ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੀ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਕੱਤੀ ਸਾਲ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ BSB BSB: Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem thirty-one years.

3 ULB ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਅੱਠਵੇਂ ਸਾਲ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਮੁੰਡਾ ਹੀ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਤਾਲਿਬ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਰਵੇਂ ਸਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚੇ ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਟੁੰਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਘੜੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਢਾਲੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਮੂਰਤਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਾਫ਼ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ BSB BSB: In the eighth year of his reign, while he was still young, Josiah began to seek the God of his father David, and in the twelfth year he began to cleanse Judah and Jerusalem of the high places, the Asherah poles, the carved idols, and the cast images.
4 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਬਆਲਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਗਵੇਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਢਾਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੂਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਸਨ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਟੁੰਡ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਘੜੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਤੇ ਢਾਲੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਮੂਰਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਟੁੱਕੜੇ-ਟੁੱਕੜੇ ਕਰ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੀਹ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਬਰਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਖਿਲਾਰਿਆ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈਆਂ ਸਨ BSB BSB: Then in his presence the altars of the Baals were torn down, and he cut to pieces the incense altars that were above them. He shattered the Asherah poles, the carved idols, and the cast images, crushed them to dust, and scattered them over the graves of those who had sacrificed to them.
5 ULB ਅਤੇ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੱਡੀਆਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਗਵੇਦੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਾੜੀਆਂ, ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ BSB BSB: Then he burned the bones of the priests on their altars. So he cleansed Judah and Jerusalem.
6 ULB ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ, ਅਫਰਾਈਮ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਮਓਨ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਗੋਂ ਨਫਤਾਲੀ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦਿਆਂ ਥੇਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਇਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ BSB BSB: Josiah did the same in the cities of Manasseh, Ephraim, and Simeon, as far as Naphtali, and in the ruins around them.
7 ULB ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਗਵੇਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਢਾਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਟੁੰਡ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਘੜੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਮੂਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੰਨ ਤੋੜ ਕੇ ਪੀਪਾ ਕਰ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮੂਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜਿਆ। BSB BSB: He tore down the altars and Asherah poles, crushed the idols to powder, and cut to pieces all the incense altars throughout the land of Israel. Then he returned to Jerusalem.
9 ULB ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਹਿਲਕੀਯਾਹ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਂਦੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਦਰਬਾਨ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਅਤੇ ਅਫਰਾਈਮ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਬਕੀਏ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ BSB BSB: So they went to Hilkiah the high priest and gave him the money that had been brought into the house of God, which the Levites who guarded the doors had collected from the people of Manasseh and Ephraim, from all the remnant of Israel, from all Judah and Benjamin, and from the people of Jerusalem.
10 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਦੀ ਦੇਖਭਾਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਭਵਨ ਦੀ ਮੁਰੰਮਤ ਅਤੇ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਲਾਇਆ BSB BSB: They put it into the hands of those supervising the work in the house of the LORD, who in turn gave it to the workmen restoring and repairing the house of the LORD.
11 ULB ਅਰਥਾਤ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਰਖਾਣਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਘੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਪੱਥਰ ਅਤੇ ਜੋੜੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਲੱਕੜੀ ਮੁੱਲ ਲੈਣ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਘਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਜਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਸ਼ਤੀਰ ਬਣਾਉਣ BSB BSB: They also gave money to the carpenters and builders to buy dressed stone, as well as timbers for couplings and beams for the buildings that the kings of Judah had allowed to deteriorate.
12 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਯਹਤ ਅਤੇ ਓਬਦਯਾਹ ਲੇਵੀ ਮਰਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਵੰਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਦੇਖਭਾਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਹਾਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਵੰਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜ਼ਕਰਯਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਮਸ਼ੂਲਾਮ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੇਵੀ ਵਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਜਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਡੇ ਗੁਣੀਏ ਸਨ BSB BSB: And the men did the work faithfully. The Levites overseeing them were Jahath and Obadiah, descendants of Merari, and Zechariah and Meshullam, descendants of Kohath. Other Levites, all skilled with musical instruments,
13 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਭਾਰ ਚੁੱਕਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲਿਖਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਦਰਬਾਨ ਸਨ BSB BSB: were over the laborers and supervised all who did the work, task by task. Some of the Levites were secretaries, officers, and gatekeepers.
14 ULB ਜਦ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਂਦੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਹਿਲਕੀਯਾਹ ਜਾਜਕ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਪੋਥੀ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਮੂਸਾ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਲੱਭੀ BSB BSB: While they were bringing out the money that had been taken into the house of the LORD, Hilkiah the priest found the Book of the Law of the LORD given by Moses.
15 ULB ਤਾਂ ਹਿਲਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਾਫਾਨ ਲਿਖਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਪੋਥੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੱਭੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹਿਲਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਪੋਥੀ ਸ਼ਾਫਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ BSB BSB: And Hilkiah said to Shaphan the scribe, “I have found the Book of the Law in the house of the LORD!” And he gave it to Shaphan.
16 ULB ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਫਾਨ ਉਸ ਪੋਥੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ ਫੇਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੰਮ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਟਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਜਿੰਮੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ BSB BSB: Then Shaphan brought the book to the king and reported, “Your servants are doing all that has been placed in their hands.
17 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਮਿਲੀ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਦੇਖਭਾਲ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ BSB BSB: They have paid out the money that was found in the house of the LORD and have put it into the hands of the supervisors and workers.”
18 ULB ਤਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਫਾਨ ਲਿਖਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਹਿਲਕੀਯਾਹ ਜਾਜਕ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਪੋਥੀ ਫੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਫਾਨ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆ BSB BSB: Moreover, Shaphan the scribe told the king, “Hilkiah the priest has given me a book.” And Shaphan read it in the presence of the king.
19 ULB ਫੇਰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੁਣੀਆਂ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੀੜੇ ਪਾੜੇ BSB BSB: When the king heard the words of the Law, he tore his clothes
21 ULB ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਕੀ ਹਨ ਇਸ ਪੋਥੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਖੇ ਜੋ ਲੱਭੀ ਹੈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਪੁੱਛ-ਗਿੱਛ ਕਰੋ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਸਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਡੋਹਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਿ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਿਉ-ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਜੋ ਇਸ ਪੋਥੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕਰਨ BSB BSB: “Go and inquire of the LORD for me and for those remaining in Israel and Judah concerning the words in the book that has been found. For great is the wrath of the LORD that has been poured out on us because our fathers have not kept the word of the LORD by doing all that is written in this book.”
22 ULB ਤਾਂ ਹਿਲਕੀਯਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੁਕੱਰਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਹੁਲਦਾਹ ਨਬੀਆ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਗਏ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਤੋਸ਼ੇ ਖਾਨੇ ਦੇ ਰੱਖਵਾਲੇ ਤਾਕਹਥ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਹਸਰਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੋਤੇ ਸ਼ੱਲੁਮ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਸੀ (ਉਹ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੂਜੇ ਮਹੱਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਸੀ) ਸੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਵਿਖੇ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ BSB BSB: So Hilkiah and those the king had designated went and spoke to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum son of Tokhath, the son of Hasrah, the keeper of the wardrobe. She lived in Jerusalem, in the Second District.
23 ULB ਉਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਐਉਂ ਫਰਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ ਇਉਂ ਆਖੋ, BSB BSB: And Huldah said to them, “This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘Tell the man who sent you
24 ULB ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਐਉਂ ਫਰਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ,- ਵੇਖੋ, ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਥਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਰਾਪ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਇਸ ਪੋਥੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਪੜੀ ਹੈ BSB BSB: that this is what the LORD says: I am about to bring calamity on this place and on its people, according to all the curses written in the book that has been read in the presence of the king of Judah,
25 ULB ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਾਏ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਧੂਪ ਧੁਖਾਈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਕਾਰੀਗਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੇਰਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਇਸ ਥਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਬੁਝੇਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ BSB BSB: because they have forsaken Me and burned incense to other gods, that they might provoke Me to anger with all the works of their hands. My wrath will be poured out upon this place and will not be quenched.’
26 ULB ਪਰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਪੁੱਛ-ਗਿੱਛ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ ਇਉਂ ਕਹੋ ਕਿ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਐਉਂ ਫਰਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਖੇ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਤੂੰ ਸੁਣੀਆਂ ਹਨ BSB BSB: But as for the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of the LORD, tell him that this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘As for the words that you heard,
27 ULB ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਨਰਮ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈਂ ਜਦ ਤੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਇਸ ਸਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਸੁਣੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਅਧੀਨ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੀੜੇ ਪਾੜ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਰੋਇਆ ਸੋ ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੁਣ ਲਈ ਹੈ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ BSB BSB: because your heart was tender and you humbled yourself before God when you heard His words against this place and against its people, and because you have humbled yourself before Me and have torn your clothes and wept before Me, I have heard you,’ declares the LORD.
28 ULB ਵੇਖ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿਉ-ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਬਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਥਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਾਂ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਣਗੀਆਂ। ਉਹ ਫੇਰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਕੋਲ ਇਹ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਲਿਆਏ। BSB BSB: ‘Now I will indeed gather you to your fathers, and you will be gathered to your grave in peace. Your eyes will not see all the calamity that I will bring on this place and on its people.’” So they brought her answer back to the king.
29 ULB ਤਾਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕੀਤਾ BSB BSB: Then the king summoned all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem.
30 ULB ਫਿਰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਵਾਸੀ, ਜਾਜਕ ਅਤੇ ਲੇਵੀ, ਸਾਰੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਲੋਕ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਾਂਹ ਗਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਨੇਮ ਦੀ ਪੋਥੀ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੱਭੀ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਨੀ ਪਾਈਆਂ BSB BSB: And he went up to the house of the LORD with all the people of Judah and Jerusalem, as well as the priests and the Levites—all the people great and small—and in their hearing he read all the words of the Book of the Covenant that had been found in the house of the LORD.
31 ULB ਤਾਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਥਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਾ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਨੇਮ ਬੰਨਿਆ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਾਂਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮਨਾਮੇ, ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਖੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਿਧੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦਿਲ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਾਂਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੇਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਪੋਥੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਾਂਗੇ BSB BSB: So the king stood by the pillar and made a covenant before the LORD to follow the LORD and to keep His commandments, decrees, and statutes with all his heart and all his soul, and to carry out the words of the covenant that were written in this book.
32 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਭੇ ਸਨ ਇਸ ਨੇਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਉ-ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਨੇਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ BSB BSB: Then he had everyone in Jerusalem and Benjamin take a stand in agreement to it. So all the people of Jerusalem carried out the covenant of God, the God of their fathers.
33 ULB ਤਾਂ ਯੋਸੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਘਿਣਾਉਣੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਤੱਕ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਉ-ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਚੱਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਨਾ ਹਟੇ। BSB BSB: And Josiah removed all the abominations from all the lands belonging to the Israelites, and he required everyone in Israel to serve the LORD their God. Throughout his reign they did not turn aside from following the LORD, the God of their fathers.
