2 ULB ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਤੱਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਚੁਣੇ ਸਨ, ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਗਿਆ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਉਤਾਹਾਂ ਉਠਾ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ। BSB BSB: until the day He was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles He had chosen.
3 ULB ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਭੋਗਣ ਦੇ ਮਗਰੋਂ, ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਹੁਤਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਪਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਚਾਲ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸ਼ਣ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ। BSB BSB: After His suffering, He presented Himself to them with many convincing proofs that He was alive. He appeared to them over a span of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.
5 ULB ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜੋ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੇ ਤਾਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਪਰ ਥੋੜ੍ਹੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। BSB BSB: For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”
9 ULB ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਹਿ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੇਖਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਉਤਾਹਾਂ ਉੱਠਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਦਲ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰੋਂ ਓਹਲੇ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। BSB BSB: After He had said this, they watched as He was taken up, and a cloud hid Him from their sight.
10 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਜਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਦੀ ਵੱਲ ਤੱਕ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ, ਤਾਂ ਵੇਖੋ ਦੋ ਜਣੇ ਚਿੱਟਾ ਪਹਿਰਾਵਾ ਪਹਿਨੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਖੜੇ ਹੋਏ। BSB BSB: They were looking intently into the sky as He was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them.
11 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗੇ, ਹੇ ਗਲੀਲੀ ਮਨੁੱਖੋ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਦੀ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ? ਇਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਸਵਰਗ ਉੱਪਰ ਉੱਠਾ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਆਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਵਰਗ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ l BSB BSB: “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into heaven.”
12 ULB ਤਦ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਜੈਤੂਨ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜ ਤੋਂ ਜੋ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਦੂਰੀ ਤੇ ਹੈ, ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜੇ। BSB BSB: Then they returned to Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives, which is near the city, a Sabbath day’s journey away.
13 ULB ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਚੁਬਾਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਏ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਪਤਰਸ, ਯੂਹੰਨਾ, ਯਾਕੂਬ, ਅੰਦ੍ਰਿਯਾਸ, ਫ਼ਿਲਿੱਪੁਸ, ਥੋਮਾ, ਬਰਥੁਲਮਈ, ਮੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਹਲਫ਼ਾ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਾਕੂਬ, ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਜ਼ੇਲੋਤੇਸ ਅਤੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਹੂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ। BSB BSB: When they arrived, they went to the upper room where they were staying: Peter and John, James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James.

19 ULB ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਸਾਰੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਜਾਣ ਗਏ, ਐਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਜੋ ਉਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਖੇਤ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ “ਅਕਲਦਮਾ” ਅਰਥਾਤ “ਲਹੂ ਦਾ ਖੇਤ” ਪੈ ਗਿਆ BSB BSB: This became known to all who lived in Jerusalem, so they called that field in their own language Akeldama, that is, Field of Blood.)
20 ULB ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜ਼ਬੂਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਉੱਜੜ ਜਾਵੇ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਵੱਸਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ l ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਪਦ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਲਵੇ। BSB BSB: “For it is written in the book of Psalms: ‘May his place be deserted; let there be no one to dwell in it,’ and, ‘May another take his position.’
21 ULB ਪਰੰਤੂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹੇ, ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਿਸੂ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਇਆ ਜਾਇਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ। BSB BSB: Therefore it is necessary to choose one of the men who have accompanied us the whole time the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,
22 ULB ਯਹੂੰਨਾ ਦੇ ਬਪਤਿਸਮੇ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਤੱਕ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਉਤਾਹਾਂ ਉੱਠਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ, ਚੰਗਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਉਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਜੀ ਉੱਠਣ ਦਾ ਗਵਾਹ ਹੋਵੇ। BSB BSB: beginning from John’s baptism until the day Jesus was taken up from us. For one of these must become a witness with us of His resurrection.”
23 ULB ਤਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੋ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੜਾ ਕੀਤਾ, ਇੱਕ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਬਰਸੱਬਾਸ ਅਖਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਯੂਸਤੁਸ ਵੀ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ, ਦੂਜਾ ਮੱਥਿਯਾਸ। BSB BSB: So they proposed two men: Joseph called Barsabbas (also known as Justus) and Matthias.
24 ULB ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੂੰ ਜੋ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਪਰਗਟ ਕਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਸਨੂੰ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ। BSB BSB: And they prayed, “Lord, You know everyone’s heart. Show us which of these two You have chosen
25 ULB ਜੋ ਇਸ ਸੇਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਰਸੂਲਗੀ ਦੀ ਉਹ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਲਵੇ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੂਦਾ ਨੇ ਕੁਧਰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿੱਜ ਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਵੇ BSB BSB: to take up this ministry and apostleship, which Judas abandoned to go to his rightful place.”
26 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਪਰਚੀਆਂ ਪਾਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੱਥਿਯਾਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਪਰਚੀ ਨਿੱਕਲੀ। ਤਦ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗਿਆਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗਿਣਿਆ ਗਿਆ। BSB BSB: Then they cast lots, and the lot fell to Matthias. So he was added to the eleven apostles.
