1 ULB ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਬਲਦ ਜਾਂ ਲੇਲਾ ਬਲੀ ਨਾ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਇਓ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਕੱਜ ਜਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਦੋਸ਼ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਲਈ ਘਿਣਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ। BSB BSB: You shall not sacrifice to the LORD your God an ox or a sheep with any defect or serious flaw, for that is detestable to the LORD your God.
2 ULB ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਫਾਟਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਜਾਂ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਪਾਈ ਜਾਵੇ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਨੇਮ ਦੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਕੋਈ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੁਰਾ ਹੈ BSB BSB: If a man or woman among you in one of the towns that the LORD your God gives you is found doing evil in the sight of the LORD your God by transgressing His covenant
3 ULB ਅਤੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਂ ਸੂਰਜ, ਚੰਦ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਮੱਥਾ ਟੇਕਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਮੈਂ ਹੁਕਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ BSB BSB: and going to worship other gods, bowing down to them or to the sun or moon or any of the host of heaven—which I have forbidden—

5 ULB ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਪੁਰਖ ਜਾਂ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਬੁਰਾ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਫਾਟਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਲੈ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਪਥਰਾਓ ਕਰਿਓ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇ। BSB BSB: you must bring out to your gates the man or woman who has done this evil thing, and you must stone that person to death.
6 ULB ਜੋ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਹੀ ਗਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਤੇ ਨਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ, ਸਗੋਂ ਦੋ ਜਾਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਗਵਾਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਤੇ ਹੀ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ। BSB BSB: On the testimony of two or three witnesses a man shall be put to death, but he shall not be executed on the testimony of a lone witness.
7 ULB ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਗਵਾਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਪਹਿਲ ਕਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਉੱਠਣ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇਸ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਟਾ ਦਿਓ। BSB BSB: The hands of the witnesses shall be the first in putting him to death, and after that, the hands of all the people. So you must purge the evil from among you.
8 ULB ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਫਾਟਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਝਗੜੇ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਗੱਲ ਉੱਠੇ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਕਠਿਨ ਹੋਵੇ, ਅਰਥਾਤ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾ ਖੂਨ, ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾ ਦਾਵਾ, ਜਾਂ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੀ ਮਾਰ-ਕੁਟਾਈ, ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਸਥਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਇਓ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਚੁਣੇਗਾ, BSB BSB: If a case is too difficult for you to judge, whether the controversy within your gates is regarding bloodshed, lawsuits, or assaults, you must go up to the place the LORD your God will choose.
9 ULB ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ, ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਈਆਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਪੁੱਛ-ਗਿੱਛ ਕਰਿਓ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਣਗੇ। ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਦੱਸਣਗੇ। BSB BSB: You are to go to the Levitical priests and to the judge who presides at that time. Inquire of them, and they will give you a verdict in the case.
10 ULB ਫੇਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਫੈਸਲੇ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕਰਿਓ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਦੱਸਣਗੇ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਚੁਣੇਗਾ। ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਣ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪੂਰਨਤਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਿਓ। BSB BSB: You must abide by the verdict they give you at the place the LORD will choose. Be careful to do everything they instruct you,
11 ULB ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੋ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਣ, ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੋ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਣ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸੇ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕਰਿਓ। ਉਸ ਫੈਸਲੇ ਤੋਂ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਣ ਨਾ ਸੱਜੇ ਮੁੜਿਓ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਖੱਬੇ। BSB BSB: according to the terms of law they give and the verdict they proclaim. Do not turn aside to the right or to the left from the decision they declare to you.
12 ULB ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਸਤਾਖ਼ੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਜਾਜਕ ਦੀ, ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਈ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੈ, ਜਾਂ ਨਿਆਈ ਦੀ ਨਾ ਸੁਣੇ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ, ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਮਿਟਾ ਦਿਓ। BSB BSB: But the man who acts presumptuously, refusing to listen either to the priest who stands there to serve the LORD your God, or to the judge, must be put to death. You must purge the evil from Israel.
13 ULB ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਸੁਣੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਡਰੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਫੇਰ ਗੁਸਤਾਖ਼ੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਗੀ। BSB BSB: Then all the people will hear and be afraid, and will no longer behave arrogantly.
14 ULB ਜਦ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਜਾਓ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸ ਜਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗੋ, ਅਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਤੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਰਾਜਾ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕਰ ਲਈਏ, BSB BSB: When you enter the land that the LORD your God is giving you and have taken possession of it and settled in it, and you say, “Let us set a king over us like all the nations around us,”
16 ULB ਪਰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਘੋੜੇ ਨਾ ਵਧਾਵੇ, ਨਾ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਘੋੜੇ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਪਰਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੋੜੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਰਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਫੇਰ ਕਦੀ ਨਾ ਮੁੜਿਓ। BSB BSB: But the king must not acquire many horses for himself or send the people back to Egypt to acquire more horses, for the LORD has said, ‘You are never to go back that way again.’
17 ULB ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਰੱਖੇ, ਕਿਤੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਫਿਰ ਜਾਵੇ, ਨਾ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਚਾਂਦੀ-ਸੋਨਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਧਾਵੇ। BSB BSB: He must not take many wives for himself, lest his heart go astray. He must not accumulate for himself large amounts of silver and gold.
18 ULB ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਾਜ-ਗੱਦੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਲੇਵੀ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਰਹੇਗੀ, ਇੱਕ ਨਕਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਲਿਖ ਲਵੇ। BSB BSB: When he is seated on his royal throne, he must write for himself a copy of this instruction on a scroll in the presence of the Levitical priests.
19 ULB ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਰਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹੇ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਸਿੱਖੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਨਾ ਕਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਿਧੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰੇ, BSB BSB: It is to remain with him, and he is to read from it all the days of his life, so that he may learn to fear the LORD his God by carefully observing all the words of this instruction and these statutes.
20 ULB ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਘਮੰਡ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੋਂ ਨੀਵਾਂ ਨਾ ਸਮਝੇ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਹੁਕਮਨਾਮੇ ਤੋਂ ਨਾ ਤਾਂ ਸੱਜੇ ਮੁੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਖੱਬੇ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ। BSB BSB: Then his heart will not be exalted above his countrymen, and he will not turn aside from the commandment, to the right or to the left, in order that he and his sons may reign many years over his kingdom in Israel.
