1 ULB ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਚਨ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ। BSB BSB: Now the LORD attended to Sarah as He had said, and the LORD did for Sarah what He had promised.
2 ULB ਸਾਰਾਹ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸੇ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਸੀ, ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬੁਢੇਪੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ। BSB BSB: So Sarah conceived and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised.
3 ULB ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰਾਹ ਨੇ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ, ਇਸਹਾਕ ਰੱਖਿਆ। BSB BSB: And Abraham gave the name Isaac to the son Sarah bore to him.
4 ULB ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਇਸਹਾਕ ਅੱਠ ਦਿਨ ਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਤਦ ਉਸਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਕਰਾਈ। BSB BSB: When his son Isaac was eight days old, Abraham circumcised him, as God had commanded him.
5 ULB ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਸੌ ਸਾਲ ਦਾ ਸੀ, ਜਦ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਇਸਹਾਕ ਜੰਮਿਆ। BSB BSB: Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him.
6 ULB ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਅਨੰਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਅਨੰਦ ਮਨਾਉਣਗੇ। BSB BSB: Then Sarah said, “God has made me laugh, and everyone who hears of this will laugh with me.”
7 ULB ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਕੀ ਕੋਈ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ ਸਕਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਸਾਰਾਹ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਧ ਚੁੰਘਾਏਗੀ? ਵੇਖੋ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬੁਢੇਪੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ। BSB BSB: She added, “Who would have told Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age.”
8 ULB ਉਹ ਮੁੰਡਾ ਵੱਧਦਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਧ ਛੁਡਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਇਸਹਾਕ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਧ ਛੁਡਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਵੱਡੀ ਦਾਵਤ ਕੀਤੀ। BSB BSB: So the child grew and was weaned, and Abraham held a great feast on the day Isaac was weaned.
9 ULB ਸਾਰਾਹ ਨੇ ਹਾਜ਼ਰਾ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਲਈ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਮਖ਼ੌਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਵੇਖਿਆ। BSB BSB: But Sarah saw that the son whom Hagar the Egyptian had borne to Abraham was mocking her son,
10 ULB ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਇਸ ਦਾਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢ ਦੇ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਇਸ ਦਾਸੀ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਇਸਹਾਕ ਨੇ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਰਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। BSB BSB: and she said to Abraham, “Expel the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with my son Isaac!”
11 ULB ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਬੁਰੀ ਲੱਗੀ। BSB BSB: Now this matter distressed Abraham greatly because it concerned his son Ishmael.
13 ULB ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦਾਸੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਇੱਕ ਕੌਮ ਬਣਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਅੰਸ ਹੈ। BSB BSB: But I will also make a nation of the slave woman’s son, because he is your offspring.”
14 ULB ਤਦ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਜਲਦੀ ਉੱਠਿਆ, ਰੋਟੀ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਮਸ਼ਕ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਹਾਜ਼ਰਾ ਦੇ ਮੋਢਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੰਡਾ ਵੀ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਤਦ ਉਹ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਬਏਰਸਬਾ ਦੀ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਟਕਦੀ ਰਹੀ। BSB BSB: Early in the morning, Abraham got up, took bread and a skin of water, put them on Hagar’s shoulders, and sent her away with the boy. She left and wandered in the Wilderness of Beersheba.
15 ULB ਜਦ ਮਸ਼ਕ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੁੰਡੇ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਝਾੜੀ ਦੇ ਹੇਠ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ। BSB BSB: When the water in the skin was gone, she left the boy under one of the bushes.
16 ULB ਆਪ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਇੱਕ ਤੀਰ ਦੀ ਮਾਰ ਦੀ ਦੂਰੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਾ ਬੈਠੀ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਬੱਚੇ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਨਾ ਵੇਖਾਂ, ਸੋ ਉਹ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਦੂਰ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਉੱਚੀ-ਉੱਚੀ ਰੋਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਈ। BSB BSB: Then she went off and sat down nearby, about a bowshot away, for she said, “I cannot bear to watch the boy die!” And as she sat nearby, she lifted up her voice and wept.
18 ULB ਉੱਠ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੰਡੇ ਨੂੰ ਚੁੱਕ ਲੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਂਭ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਕੌਮ ਬਣਾਵਾਂਗਾ। BSB BSB: Get up, lift up the boy, and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation.”
19 ULB ਤਦ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਖੋਲ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਖੂਹ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਮਸ਼ਕ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਲੈ ਆਈ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੰਡੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਲਾਇਆ। BSB BSB: Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. So she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink.
20 ULB ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉਸ ਮੁੰਡੇ ਦੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਵੱਧਦਾ ਗਿਆ, ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਿਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਤੀਰ-ਅੰਦਾਜ਼ ਬਣਿਆ। BSB BSB: And God was with the boy, and he grew up and settled in the wilderness and became a great archer.
21 ULB ਉਹ ਪਾਰਾਨ ਦੀ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਪਤਨੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਲੈ ਆਈ। BSB BSB: And while he was dwelling in the Wilderness of Paran, his mother got a wife for him from the land of Egypt.
22 ULB ਫੇਰ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਅਬੀਮਲਕ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਦੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਫ਼ੀਕੋਲ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੂੰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਗ ਹੈ। BSB BSB: At that time Abimelech and Phicol the commander of his army said to Abraham, “God is with you in all that you do.
23 ULB ਹੁਣ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਸਹੁੰ ਖਾਹ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ, ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੋਤਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਧੋਖਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ। ਸਗੋਂ ਉਸ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਵੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ, ਇਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੂੰ ਪਰਦੇਸੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ। BSB BSB: Now, therefore, swear to me here before God that you will not deal falsely with me or my children or descendants. Show to me and to the country in which you reside the same kindness that I have shown to you.”
24 ULB ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਸਹੁੰ ਖਾਵਾਂਗਾ। BSB BSB: And Abraham replied, “I swear it.”
25 ULB ਤਦ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਅਬੀਮਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਖੂਹ ਦਾ ਉਲਾਂਭਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਾਲ ਖੋਹ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ। BSB BSB: But when Abraham complained to Abimelech about a well that Abimelech’s servants had seized,
26 ULB ਤਦ ਅਬੀਮਲਕ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਕੰਮ ਕਿਸ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਵੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਮੈਂ ਅੱਜ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ। BSB BSB: Abimelech replied, “I do not know who has done this. You did not tell me, so I have not heard about it until today.”
27 ULB ਤਦ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਗਾਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਲ਼ਦ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਬੀਮਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪੋ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੇਮ ਬੰਨਿਆ। BSB BSB: So Abraham brought sheep and cattle and gave them to Abimelech, and the two men made a covenant.
28 ULB ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੱਤ ਲੇਲੀਆਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਵੱਖਰੀਆਂ ਕਰ ਲਈਆਂ BSB BSB: Abraham separated seven ewe lambs from the flock,
29 ULB ਤਦ ਅਬੀਮਲਕ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੱਤਾਂ ਵੱਖਰੀਆਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਲੇਲੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਮਤਲਬ ਹੈ? BSB BSB: and Abimelech asked him, “Why have you set apart these seven ewe lambs?”
30 ULB ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਇਹ ਸੱਤ ਲੇਲੀਆਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਲੈ ਲੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਗਵਾਹ ਹੋਣ ਭਈ ਇਹ ਖੂਹ ਮੈਂ ਪੁੱਟਿਆ ਹੈ। BSB BSB: He replied, “You are to accept the seven ewe lambs from my hand as my witness that I dug this well.”
31 ULB ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉੱਥੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਹੁੰ ਖਾਧੀ ਸੀ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਏਰਸਬਾ ਪੈ ਗਿਆ। BSB BSB: So that place was called Beersheba, because it was there that the two of them swore an oath.
32 ULB ਜਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਏਰਸਬਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੇਮ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਅਬੀਮਲਕ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਦਾ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਫ਼ੀਕੋਲ ਉੱਠੇ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਗਏ। BSB BSB: After they had made the covenant at Beersheba, Abimelech and Phicol the commander of his army got up and returned to the land of the Philistines.
33 ULB ਫਿਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬਏਰਸਬਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਝਾਊ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਰੁੱਖ ਲਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅੱਗੇ ਜੋ ਅਟੱਲ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ। BSB BSB: And Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called upon the name of the LORD, the Eternal God.
34 ULB ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਬਹੁਤਿਆਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰਦੇਸੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਰਿਹਾ। BSB BSB: And Abraham resided in the land of the Philistines for a long time.
