3 ULB ਸਵੇਰ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਗਧੇ ਤੋਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ। BSB BSB: At daybreak, the men were sent on their way with their donkeys.

10 ULB ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੁਣ ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਉਹ ਲੱਭੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਗ਼ੁਲਾਮ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਠਹਿਰੋਗੇ। BSB BSB: “As you say,” replied the steward. “But only the one who is found with the cup will be my slave, and the rest of you shall be free of blame.”
11 ULB ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਛੇਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੋਰੇ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਲਾਹ ਕੇ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤੇ BSB BSB: So each one quickly lowered his sack to the ground and opened it.

16 ULB ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਵਾਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਆਖੀਏ ਅਤੇ ਕੀ ਬੋਲੀਏ ਅਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ ਸਾਬਤ ਕਰੀਏ? ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਲੱਭ ਲਈ ਹੈ। ਵੇਖੋ, ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਵਾਮੀ ਦੇ ਗ਼ੁਲਾਮ ਹਾਂ, ਅਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਇਹ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਲੱਭਿਆ ਹੈ। BSB BSB: “What can we say to my lord?” Judah replied. “How can we plead? How can we justify ourselves? God has exposed the iniquity of your servants. We are now my lord’s slaves—both we and the one who was found with the cup.”
17 ULB ਪਰ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਇਹ ਕੰਮ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋਵੇ। ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਲੱਭਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਗ਼ੁਲਾਮ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਲਾਮਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਵਾਪਿਸ ਚਲੇ ਜਾਓ। BSB BSB: But Joseph replied, “Far be it from me to do this. The man who was found with the cup will be my slave. The rest of you may return to your father in peace.”
18 ULB ਫੇਰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੇਰੇ ਸਵਾਮੀ ਜੀ, ਮੇਰੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਦਾਸ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਵਾਮੀ ਦੇ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੱਲ ਕਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਕਰੋਧ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦਾਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਨਾ ਭੜਕੇ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਹੋ। BSB BSB: Then Judah approached Joseph and said, “Sir, please let your servant speak personally to my lord. Do not be angry with your servant, for you are equal to Pharaoh himself.
19 ULB ਮੇਰੇ ਸਵਾਮੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਹ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਸੀ, ਕੀ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਜਾਂ ਭਰਾ ਹੈ? BSB BSB: My lord asked his servants, ‘Do you have a father or a brother?’

21 ULB ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆਓ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਮੁੰਡੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੇਖਾਂ। BSB BSB: Then you told your servants, ‘Bring him down to me so that I can see him for myself.’
22 ULB ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਵਾਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੁੰਡਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ। ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡੇ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਡਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। BSB BSB: So we said to my lord, ‘The boy cannot leave his father. If he were to leave, his father would die.’
23 ULB ਫੇਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਛੋਟਾ ਭਰਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾ ਆਵੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਫੇਰ ਨਾ ਵੇਖੋਗੇ। BSB BSB: But you said to your servants, ‘Unless your younger brother comes down with you, you will not see my face again.’
24 ULB ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜਦ ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦਾਸ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਕੋਲ ਗਏ ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਵਾਮੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੀਆਂ। BSB BSB: Now when we returned to your servant my father, we relayed your words to him.
25 ULB ਤਦ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਜਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਥੋੜ੍ਹਾ ਅੰਨ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਮੁੱਲ ਲੈ ਆਓ। BSB BSB: Then our father said, ‘Go back and buy us some food.’
26 ULB ਪਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਖਿਆ, ਅਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ। ਜੇਕਰ ਸਾਡਾ ਛੋਟਾ ਭਰਾ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਜਾਂਵਾਂਗੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਸਾਡਾ ਛੋਟਾ ਭਰਾ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾ ਵੇਖ ਸਕਾਂਗੇ। BSB BSB: But we answered, ‘We cannot go down there unless our younger brother goes with us. So if our younger brother is not with us, we cannot see the man.’
27 ULB ਤਦ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦਾਸ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਦੋ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ। BSB BSB: And your servant my father said to us, ‘You know that my wife bore me two sons.
28 ULB ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਮੰਨ ਲਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਪਾੜਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ। BSB BSB: When one of them was gone, I said: “Surely he has been torn to pieces.” And I have not seen him since.
29 ULB ਪਰ ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੋਂ ਲੈ ਜਾਓਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਆ ਪਈ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਬੁਢਾਪੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਪਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਤਾਰੋਗੇ। BSB BSB: Now if you also take this one from me and harm comes to him, you will bring my gray hair down to Sheol in sorrow.’
30 ULB ਹੁਣ ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦਾਸ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਜਾਂਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਮੁੰਡਾ ਨਾਲ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਇਸ ਮੁੰਡੇ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੱਧੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ BSB BSB: So if the boy is not with us when I return to your servant, and if my father, whose life is wrapped up in the boy’s life,
31 ULB ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਵੇਖੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਮੁੰਡਾ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦਾਸ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਢਾਪੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਪਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਤਾਰਨਗੇ। BSB BSB: sees that the boy is not with us, he will die. Then your servants will have brought the gray hair of your servant our father down to Sheol in sorrow.
32 ULB ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਦਾਸ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਮੁੰਡੇ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਨਾ ਲਿਆਵਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਤੱਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾ ਪਾਪੀ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ। BSB BSB: Indeed, your servant guaranteed the boy’s safety to my father, saying, ‘If I do not return him to you, I will bear the guilt before you, my father, all my life.’
33 ULB ਹੁਣ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਦਾਸ ਇਸ ਮੁੰਡੇ ਦੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਵਾਮੀ ਦਾ ਗ਼ੁਲਾਮ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਰਹੇਗਾ ਪਰ ਇਸ ਮੁੰਡੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਪਿਸ ਜਾਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ। BSB BSB: Now please let your servant stay here as my lord’s slave in place of the boy. Let him return with his brothers.
