2 ULB "ਭਲਾ, ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਠੀਕ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਮੇਰਾ ਧਰਮ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਹੈ? BSB BSB: “Do you think this is just? You say, ‘I am more righteous than God.’
3 ULB ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਲਾਭ ਹੈ? ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਨ ਜਾਂ ਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਕੀ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ? BSB BSB: For you ask, ‘What does it profit me, and what benefit do I gain apart from sin?’
4 ULB ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। BSB BSB: I will reply to you and to your friends as well.
5 ULB ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਵੱਲ ਤੱਕ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖ, ਅਤੇ ਬੱਦਲਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਉੱਚੇ ਹਨ! BSB BSB: Look to the heavens and see; gaze at the clouds high above you.
6 ULB ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੀ ਅਸਰ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਵੱਧ ਜਾਣ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ? BSB BSB: If you sin, what do you accomplish against Him? If you multiply your transgressions, what do you do to Him?
7 ULB ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਧਰਮੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਾਂ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਕੀ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ? BSB BSB: If you are righteous, what do you give Him, or what does He receive from your hand?
8 ULB ਤੇਰੀ ਬਦੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਜਿਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਲਈ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਧਰਮ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਵੀ ਆਦਮ ਵੰਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਲਈ। BSB BSB: Your wickedness affects only a man like yourself, and your righteousness only a son of man.
9 ULB ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਹ ਚਿੱਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜ਼ੋਰਾਵਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੁਜਾ ਦੇ ਬਲ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਹ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। BSB BSB: Men cry out under great oppression; they plead for relief from the arm of the mighty.
10 ULB ਪਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਗੀਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ? BSB BSB: But no one asks, ‘Where is God my Maker, who gives us songs in the night,
11 ULB ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਦੇ ਪੰਛੀਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਧੀਕ ਬੁੱਧ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ? BSB BSB: who teaches us more than the beasts of the earth and makes us wiser than the birds of the air?’
12 ULB ਉੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਉੱਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ, ਇਹ ਬੁਰਿਆਰ ਦੇ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। BSB BSB: There they cry out, but He does not answer, because of the pride of evil men.
13 ULB ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, BSB BSB: Surely God does not listen to empty pleas, and the Almighty does not take note of it.
14 ULB ਖ਼ਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਜਦ ਤੂੰ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਰਸ਼ਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ, ਇਹ ਮੁਕੱਦਮਾ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ! BSB BSB: How much less, then, when you say that you do not see Him, that your case is before Him and you must wait for Him,
15 ULB ਪਰ ਹੁਣੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਕੇ ਦੰਡ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਾਇਆ, BSB BSB: and further, that in His anger He has not punished or taken much notice of folly!
16 ULB ਇਸੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਅਯੂੱਬ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਫੋਕੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਲਈ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਬੁੱਧਹੀਣ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।" BSB BSB: So Job opens his mouth in vain and multiplies words without knowledge.”
