1 ULB ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹਾਰੂਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋ ਜਾਜਕ ਹਨ, ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਖ, ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਜਾਜਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਮਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ, BSB BSB: Then the LORD said to Moses, “Speak to Aaron’s sons, the priests, and tell them that a priest is not to defile himself for a dead person among his people,
2 ULB ਪਰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕੀ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਂ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਆਪਣੀ ਧੀ, ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾ, BSB BSB: except for his immediate family—his mother, father, son, daughter, or brother,

4 ULB ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਅਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ। BSB BSB: He is not to defile himself for those related to him by marriage, and so profane himself.
5 ULB ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਰ ਨਾ ਮੁਨਾਉਣ, ਨਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਦਾੜੀ ਦੇ ਸਿਰੇ ਮੁਨਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰੀਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੀਰੇ ਲਗਵਾਉਣ। BSB BSB: Priests must not make bald spots on their heads, shave off the edges of their beards, or make cuts in their bodies.
6 ULB ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅੱਗੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋਣ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਦਨਾਮ ਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਗ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਰੋਟੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਰਹਿਣ। BSB BSB: They must be holy to their God and not profane the name of their God. Because they present to the LORD the food offerings, the food of their God, they must be holy.
7 ULB ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੇਸਵਾ ਜਾਂ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਨਾ ਕਰਨ, ਨਾ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਤਿਆਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਕਿਸੇ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਆਹੁਣ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹਨ। BSB BSB: A priest must not marry a woman defiled by prostitution or divorced by her husband, for the priest is holy to his God.
8 ULB ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰੀਂ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਰੋਟੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਜਾਣੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹਾਂ, ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। BSB BSB: You are to regard him as holy, since he presents the food of your God. He shall be holy to you, because I the LORD am holy—I who set you apart.
9 ULB ਜੇਕਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਜਾਜਕ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਵੇਸਵਾ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਨਾਮ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਅੱਗ ਨਾਲ ਸਾੜੀ ਜਾਵੇ। BSB BSB: If a priest’s daughter defiles herself by prostituting herself, she profanes her father; she must be burned in the fire.
10 ULB ਉਹ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਸਹ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਤੇਲ ਪਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਬਸਤਰ ਪਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਥਾਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿਰ ਨੰਗਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਸਤਰ ਪਾੜੇ। BSB BSB: The priest who is highest among his brothers, who has had the anointing oil poured on his head and has been ordained to wear the priestly garments, must not let his hair hang loose or tear his garments.
11 ULB ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਲਾਸ਼ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਨਾ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਜਾਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਕਰੇ। BSB BSB: He must not go near any dead body; he must not defile himself, even for his father or mother.
12 ULB ਉਹ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਾ ਨਿੱਕਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸਥਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਕਰੇ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਮਸਹ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਤੇਲ ਦਾ ਮੁਕਟ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹਾਂ। BSB BSB: He must not leave or desecrate the sanctuary of his God, for the consecration of the anointing oil of his God is on him. I am the LORD.
13 ULB ਉਹ ਕੁਆਰੀ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰੇ। BSB BSB: The woman he marries must be a virgin.
14 ULB ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਧਵਾ, ਜਾਂ ਛੱਡੀ ਹੋਈ, ਜਾਂ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਜਾਂ ਵੇਸਵਾ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਕੁਆਰੀ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰੇ। BSB BSB: He is not to marry a widow, a divorced woman, or one defiled by prostitution. He is to marry a virgin from his own people,
15 ULB ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ, ਆਪਣੇ ਵੰਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਠਹਿਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। BSB BSB: so that he does not defile his offspring among his people, for I am the LORD who sanctifies him.”
16 ULB ਫੇਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, BSB BSB: Then the LORD said to Moses,
17 ULB ਹਾਰੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ, ਤੇਰੀ ਵੰਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀਓਂ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਤੱਕ ਜਿਸ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਦੋਸ਼ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਰੋਟੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਨਾ ਜਾਵੇ। BSB BSB: “Say to Aaron, ‘For the generations to come, none of your descendants who has a physical defect may approach to offer the food of his God.
18 ULB ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਦੋਸ਼ ਹੋਵੇ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾਂ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਲੰਗੜਾ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨੱਕ ਫੀਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਜਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਲੱਤ ਲੰਮੀ ਹੋਵੇ, BSB BSB: No man who has any defect may approach—no man who is blind, lame, disfigured, or deformed;
19 ULB ਜਾਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਪੈਰ ਜਾਂ ਹੱਥ ਟੁੱਟਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ, BSB BSB: no man who has a broken foot or hand,
20 ULB ਜਾਂ ਕੁੱਬਾ, ਜਾਂ ਮਧਰਾ ਜਾਂ ਭੈਂਗਾ ਜਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਦ ਜਾਂ ਖੁਜਲੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਜਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਨਲ ਕੁਚਲੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੋਣ, ਉਹ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਨਾ ਜਾਵੇ। BSB BSB: or who is a hunchback or dwarf, or who has an eye defect, a festering rash, scabs, or a crushed testicle.
21 ULB ਹਾਰੂਨ ਜਾਜਕ ਦੇ ਵੰਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜਿਸ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਦੋਸ਼ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਗ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਦੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਨਾ ਆਵੇ। ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋਸ਼ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਰੋਟੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਨਾ ਆਵੇ। BSB BSB: No descendant of Aaron the priest who has a defect shall approach to present the food offerings to the LORD. Since he has a defect, he is not to come near to offer the food of his God.
22 ULB ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਅੱਤ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਰੋਟੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਖਾਵੇ, BSB BSB: He may eat the most holy food of his God as well as the holy food,
23 ULB ਪਰ ਉਹ ਪਰਦੇ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਾ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਜਗਵੇਦੀ ਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਜਾਵੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋਸ਼ ਹੈ, ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਕਰੇ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਠਹਿਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। BSB BSB: but because he has a defect, he must not go near the veil or approach the altar, so as not to desecrate My sanctuaries. For I am the LORD who sanctifies them.’”
24 ULB ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੱਸੀਆਂ। BSB BSB: Moses told this to Aaron and his sons and to all the Israelites.
