2 ULB ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਸੂਬੇਦਾਰ ਦਾ ਨੌਕਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸੀ ਰੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਮਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ। BSB BSB: There a highly valued servant of a centurion was sick and about to die.
3 ULB ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਕਈਆਂ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਅੱਗੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜੋ ਆ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨੌਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਕਰੇ। BSB BSB: When the centurion heard about Jesus, he sent some Jewish elders to ask Him to come and heal his servant.
4 ULB ਉਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਬੜੀ ਨਿਮਰਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਲਾਇਕ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਕੰਮ ਕਰੇਂ। BSB BSB: They came to Jesus and pleaded with Him earnestly, “This man is worthy to have You grant this,
6 ULB ਯਿਸੂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਆਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਸੂਬੇਦਾਰ ਨੇ ਮਿੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਖੇਚਲ ਨਾ ਕਰ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਯੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਆਓ। BSB BSB: So Jesus went with them. But when He was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends with the message: “Lord, do not trouble Yourself, for I am not worthy to have You come under my roof.
7 ULB ਇਸੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਉਣ ਦੇ ਵੀ ਯੋਗ ਨਾ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਜੇਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਹੀ ਕਹਿ ਦੇਵੇਂਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। BSB BSB: That is why I did not consider myself worthy to come to You. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.
8 ULB ਮੈਂ ਆਪ ਵੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਹਨ। ਜਿਸ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, “ਜਾ” ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਵਾਂ “ਆ” ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੌਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਹਿੰਦਾਂ ਹਾਂ “ਇਹ ਕਰ”, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। BSB BSB: For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell one to go, and he goes, and another to come, and he comes. I tell my servant to do something, and he does it.”
9 ULB ਯਿਸੂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਭੀੜ ਦੀ ਵੱਲ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਚੱਲੀ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਸੀ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ! BSB BSB: When Jesus heard this, He marveled at the centurion. Turning to the crowd following Him, He said, “I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such great faith.”
10 ULB ਜੋ ਭੇਜੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਘਰ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੌਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਵੇਖਿਆ। BSB BSB: And when the messengers returned to the house, they found the servant in good health.
11 ULB ਇਸ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਇਹ ਹੋਇਆ ਯਿਸੂ ਨਾਈਨ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਨਗਰ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਭੀੜ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਰੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ। BSB BSB: Soon afterward, Jesus went to a town called Nain. His disciples went with Him, accompanied by a large crowd.
12 ULB ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਹ ਨਗਰ ਦੇ ਫਾਟਕ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਪੁੱਜਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਵੇਖੋ ਲੋਕ ਇੱਕ ਮੁਰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਲਈ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਕਲੌਤਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਵਿਧਵਾ ਸੀ, ਨਗਰ ਦੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਭੀੜ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੀ। BSB BSB: As He approached the town gate, He saw a dead man being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her.
13 ULB ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਤਰਸ ਖਾਧਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਨਾ ਰੋ। BSB BSB: When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said, “Do not weep.”
14 ULB ਅਤੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਅਰਥੀ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਹਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਚੁੱਕਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਰੁੱਕ ਗਏ। ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਹੇ ਜਵਾਨ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉੱਠ! BSB BSB: Then He went up and touched the coffin, and those carrying it stood still. “Young man,” He said, “I tell you, get up!”
15 ULB ਤਦ ਉਹ ਮੁਰਦਾ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਬੈਠ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬੋਲਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪ ਦਿੱਤਾ। BSB BSB: And the dead man sat up and began to speak! Then Jesus gave him back to his mother.
16 ULB ਤਦ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਡਰ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਬੋਲੇ ਕਿ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਮਹਾਨ ਨਬੀ ਉੱਠਿਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। BSB BSB: A sense of awe swept over all of them, and they glorified God. “A great prophet has appeared among us!” they said. “God has visited His people!”
17 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਸਾਰੇ ਯਹੂਦਿਯਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਪੂਰੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਫੈਲ ਗਈ। BSB BSB: And the news about Jesus spread throughout Judea and all the surrounding region.
18 ULB ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਦੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ। BSB BSB: Then John’s disciples informed him about all these things.
19 ULB ਤਦ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੋ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕੋਲ ਇਹ ਪੁੱਛਣ ਲਈ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਕਿ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਸੀਹ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ ਜਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਡੀਕੀਏ। BSB BSB: So John called two of his disciples and sent them to ask the Lord, “Are You the One who was to come, or should we look for someone else?”
20 ULB ਉਹ ਦੋਨੋਂ ਚੇਲੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਕਿ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਪੁੱਛਣ ਲਈ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਸੀਹ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ ਜਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਡੀਕੀਏ? BSB BSB: When the men came to Jesus, they said, “John the Baptist sent us to ask, ‘Are You the One who was to come, or should we look for someone else?’”
21 ULB ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਬਹੁਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਗਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਆਤਮਾਵਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਜਾਖਾ ਕੀਤਾ। BSB BSB: At that very hour Jesus healed many people of their diseases, afflictions, and evil spirits, and He gave sight to many who were blind.
22 ULB ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੁੱਝ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਦੱਸੋ ਕਿ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਵੇਖਦੇ, ਲੰਗੜੇ ਤੁਰਦੇ, ਕੋੜ੍ਹੀ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਹੁੰਦੇ, ਬੋਲੇ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਰਦੇ ਜਿਵਾਲੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਸੁਣਾਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। BSB BSB: So He replied, “Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.
23 ULB ਅਤੇ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਠੋਕਰ ਨਾ ਖਾਵੇ। BSB BSB: Blessed is the one who does not fall away on account of Me.”
24 ULB ਜਦ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ਵਾਹਕ ਵਾਪਸ ਚੱਲੇ ਗਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਹਿਣ ਲੱਗਾ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀ ਵੇਖਣ ਗਏ ਸੀ? ਭਲਾ, ਇੱਕ ਕਾਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਹਵਾ ਨਾਲ ਹਿੱਲਦਾ ਹੈ? BSB BSB: After John’s messengers had left, Jesus began to speak to the crowds about John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed swaying in the wind?
25 ULB ਫੇਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੀ ਵੇਖਣ ਗਏ ਸੀ? ਕੀ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਮਹੀਨ ਬਸਤਰ ਪਹਿਨੇ ਹੋਏ ਸੀ? ਵੇਖੋ, ਉਹ ਜੋ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਪੁਸ਼ਾਕ ਪਹਿਨਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਐਸ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਸੋ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। BSB BSB: Otherwise, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? Look, those who wear elegant clothing and live in luxury are found in palaces.
26 ULB ਫੇਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੀ ਵੇਖਣ ਗਏ ਸੀ? ਕੀ ਨਬੀ ਨੂੰ? ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਨਬੀ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਵੱਡਾ। BSB BSB: What then did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
27 ULB ਇਹ ਉਹ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ਵੇਖ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ਵਾਹਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਭੇਜਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਰਾਹ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰੇਗਾ। BSB BSB: This is the one about whom it is written: ‘Behold, I will send My messenger ahead of You, who will prepare Your way before You.’
28 ULB ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ, ਪਰ ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਛੋਟਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ। BSB BSB: I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John, yet even the least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.”
29 ULB ਜਦ ਮਸੂਲੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਦਾ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ। BSB BSB: All the people who heard this, even the tax collectors, acknowledged God’s justice. For they had received the baptism of John.
30 ULB ਪਰ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਨਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਨੂੰ ਟਾਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ। BSB BSB: But the Pharisees and experts in the law rejected God’s purpose for themselves, because they had not been baptized by John.
31 ULB ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਤੁਲਨਾ ਕਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਕਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਹਨ? BSB BSB: “To what, then, can I compare the men of this generation? What are they like?
32 ULB ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬਜ਼ਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਤੇ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਬੰਸਰੀ ਵਜਾਈ ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਾ ਨੱਚੇ। ਅਸੀਂ ਵਿਰਲਾਪ ਕੀਤਾ ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਾ ਰੋਏ। BSB BSB: They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling out to one another: ‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not weep.’
33 ULB ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਇਆ, ਉਹ ਨਾ ਤਾਂ ਰੋਟੀ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਮੈਅ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਖਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਭੂਤ ਹੈ। BSB BSB: For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon!’
34 ULB ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ, ਵੇਖੋ ਇੱਕ ਪੇਟੂ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਰਾਬੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ, ਚੁੰਗੀ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਪੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਮਿੱਤਰ! BSB BSB: The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Look at this glutton and drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’
35 ULB ਸੋ ਗਿਆਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਠਹਿਰਿਆ!। BSB BSB: But wisdom is vindicated by all her children.”
36 ULB ਫੇਰ ਇੱਕ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਭੋਜਨ ਕਰ। ਤਦ ਉਹ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਖਾਣ ਬੈਠ ਗਿਆ। BSB BSB: Then one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to eat with him, and He entered the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table.

38 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਖਲੋ ਕੇ ਰੋਂਦੀ-ਰੋਂਦੀ ਹੰਝੂਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਧੋਣ ਲੱਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਰ ਦੇ ਵਾਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪੂੰਝ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੁੰਮਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਅਤਰ ਮਲਿਆ। BSB BSB: As she stood behind Him at His feet weeping, she began to wet His feet with her tears and wipe them with her hair. 39 ULB ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭੋਜਨ ਤੇ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਸੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਹਿਣ ਲੱਗਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੇਕਰ ਨਬੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਜਾਣ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਔਰਤ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੂੰਹਦੀ ਹੈ ਕੌਣ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਪਾਪਣ ਹੈ। BSB BSB: When the Pharisee who had invited Jesus saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, He would know who this is and what kind of woman is touching Him—for she is a sinner!”
40 ULB ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਸ਼ਮਊਨ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੁੱਝ ਆਖਣਾ ਹੈ। ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਬੋਲਿਆ, ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੱਸੋ। BSB BSB: But Jesus answered him, “Simon, I have something to tell you.” “Tell me, Teacher,” he said.
41 ULB ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਕਿਸੇ ਸ਼ਾਹੂਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਕਰਜ਼ਾਈ ਸਨ, ਇੱਕ ਢਾਈ ਸੌ ਰੁਪਏ ਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਪੰਜਾਹਾਂ ਦਾ।” BSB BSB: “Two men were debtors to a certain moneylender. One owed him five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.
42 ULB ਜਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਵਾਪਸ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕੁੱਝ ਨਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਰਜ਼ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਕੌਣ ਕਰੇਗਾ? BSB BSB: When they were unable to repay him, he forgave both of them. Which one, then, will love him more?”
43 ULB ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਮੇਰੀ ਸਮਝ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕੀਤਾ। ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਠੀਕ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ। BSB BSB: “I suppose the one who was forgiven more,” Simon replied. “You have judged correctly,” Jesus said.
44 ULB ਫਿਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਔਰਤ ਵੱਲ ਮੂੰਹ ਫੇਰ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ? ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਆਇਆ ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੈਰ ਧੋਣ ਲਈ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਪਰ ਇਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੈਰ ਹੰਝੂਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਧੋਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਾਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪੂੰਝੇ ਹਨ। BSB BSB: And turning toward the woman, He said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? When I entered your house, you did not give Me water for My feet, but she wet My feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.
45 ULB ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੁੰਮਿਆ ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਦਾ ਮੈਂ ਇੱਥੇ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ ਇਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੈਰ ਚੁੰਮਣ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੁਕੀ। BSB BSB: You did not greet Me with a kiss, but she has not stopped kissing My feet since I arrived.
46 ULB ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ ਤੇਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਾਇਆ ਪਰ ਇਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤਰ ਮਲਿਆ ਹੈ। BSB BSB: You did not anoint My head with oil, but she has anointed My feet with perfume.
47 ULB ਇਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਜੋ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਸਨ ਸੋ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਸ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ, ਪਰ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਥੋੜ੍ਹਾ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੋ ਥੋੜ੍ਹਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। BSB BSB: Therefore I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven, for she has loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little.”
48 ULB ਫਿਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੇਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ। BSB BSB: Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”
49 ULB ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਭੋਜਨ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਹਿਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਪਾਪ ਵੀ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ? BSB BSB: But those at the table began to say to themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?”
50 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਚਲੀ ਜਾ। BSB BSB: And Jesus told the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”
