4 ULB ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਫਿਰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਕੁੱਝ ਜ਼ਵਾਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ? ਵੇਖ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਿੰਨੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ! BSB BSB: Then Pilate questioned Him again, “Have You no answer? Look how many charges they are bringing against You!”
5 ULB ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਫੇਰ ਕੁੱਝ ਜ਼ਵਾਬ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਐਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਜੋ ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ। BSB BSB: But to Pilate’s amazement, Jesus made no further reply.
6 ULB ਉਹ ਉਸ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਕੈਦੀ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਲੋਕ ਅਰਜ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਛੱਡਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ। BSB BSB: Now it was Pilate’s custom at the feast to release to the people a prisoner of their choosing.
7 ULB ਬਰੱਬਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਫਸਾਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਫਸਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੂਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਕੈਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। BSB BSB: And a man named Barabbas was imprisoned with the rebels who had committed murder during the insurrection.
8 ULB ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਨੇੜੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਅਰਜ਼ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ ਜੋ ਦਸਤੂਰ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਕਰੋ। BSB BSB: So the crowd went up and began asking Pilate to keep his custom.
9 ULB ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਵਾਂ? BSB BSB: “Do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?” Pilate asked.

12 ULB ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੇ ਅੱਗੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫਿਰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਜਿਹ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਕੀ ਕਰਾਂ? BSB BSB: So Pilate asked them again, “What then do you want me to do with the One you call the King of the Jews?”
13 ULB ਉਹ ਫੇਰ ਰੌਲ਼ਾ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਬੋਲੇ, ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਸਲੀਬ ਦਿਓ! BSB BSB: And they shouted back, “Crucify Him!”
14 ULB ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਕਿਉਂ? ਇਸ ਨੇ ਕੀ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ? ਪਰ ਉਹ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਰੌਲ਼ਾ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਬੋਲੇ, ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਸਲੀਬ ਦਿਓ! BSB BSB: “Why?” asked Pilate. “What evil has He done?” But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify Him!”
15 ULB ਤਦ ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜ਼ੀ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਮਨਸ਼ਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਬਰੱਬਾ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਰੜੇ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਜੋ ਸਲੀਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਏ। BSB BSB: And wishing to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. But he had Jesus flogged, and handed Him over to be crucified.

17 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੈਂਗਣੀ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਪਹਿਨਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਡਿਆਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਤਾਜ ਗੁੰਦਕੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ। BSB BSB: They dressed Him in a purple robe, twisted together a crown of thorns, and set it on His head.
18 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈਆਂ ਦੇਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਕਿ ਹੇ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ, ਨਮਸਕਾਰ! BSB BSB: And they began to salute Him: “Hail, King of the Jews!”
19 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਾਨੇ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਥੁੱਕਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਗੋਡੇ ਟੇਕ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਮੱਥਾ ਟੇਕਦੇ ਸਨ। BSB BSB: They kept striking His head with a staff and spitting on Him. And they knelt down and bowed before Him.

21 ULB ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਿਕੰਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਰੂਫ਼ੁਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਨਾਮੇ ਇੱਕ ਕੁਰੇਨੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਿੰਡੋਂ ਆਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਦੀ ਲੰਘਦਾ ਸੀ ਵਗਾਰੇ ਫੜਿਆ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਸਲੀਬ ਚੁੱਕ ਕੇ ਲੈ ਚੱਲੇ। BSB BSB: Now Simon of Cyrene, the father of Alexander and Rufus, was passing by on his way in from the country, and the soldiers forced him to carry the cross of Jesus.
22 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗਲਗਥਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਹ ਦਾ ਅਰਥ “ਖੋਪੜੀ ਦਾ ਥਾਂ ਹੈ” ਲਿਆਏ। BSB BSB: They brought Jesus to a place called Golgotha, which means The Place of the Skull.
23 ULB ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੰਧਰਸ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਨਾ ਲਈ। BSB BSB: There they offered Him wine mixed with myrrh, but He did not take it.
25 ULB ਪਹਿਰ ਦਿਨ ਚੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਸੀ ਜਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਸਲੀਬ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਇਆ। BSB BSB: It was the third hour when they crucified Him.
26 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਦੋਸ਼ ਪੱਤ੍ਰੀ ਉੱਪਰ ਲਿਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ, ਕਿ ਇਹ “ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੈ”। BSB BSB: And the charge inscribed against Him read: THE KING OF THE JEWS.

30 ULB ਵਾਹ ਤੂੰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਹੈਕਲ ਨੂੰ ਢਾਹ ਕੇ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ! ਸਲੀਬੋਂ ਉੱਤਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲੈ। BSB BSB: come down from the cross and save Yourself!”
31 ULB ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੁੱਖ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਆਪੋ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਮਖੌਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਇਸ ਨੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਇਆ, ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਚਾ ਸਕਦਾ! BSB BSB: In the same way, the chief priests and scribes mocked Him among themselves, saying, “He saved others, but He cannot save Himself!
32 ULB ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਮਸੀਹ ਹੁਣ ਸਲੀਬੋਂ ਉੱਤਰ ਆਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਵੇਖੀਏ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕਰੀਏ! ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਲੀਬ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਏ ਗਏ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਅਨੇ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਸਨ। BSB BSB: Let the Christ, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross, so that we may see and believe!” And even those who were crucified with Him berated Him.
34 ULB ਅਤੇ ਤੀਜੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਉੱਚੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਬੋਲਿਆ “ਏਲੋਈ ਏਲੋਈ ਲਮਾ ਸਬਕਤਨੀ” ਜਿਹ ਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਇਹ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ? BSB BSB: At the ninth hour, Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” 35 ULB ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਖੜੇ ਸਨ ਇਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਬੋਲੇ, ਵੇਖੋ ਇਹ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ! BSB BSB: When some of those standing nearby heard this, they said, “Behold, He is calling Elijah.”
36 ULB ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਦੌੜ ਕੇ ਸਪੰਜ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਭੇਂਵਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਨੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਚੂਸਣ ਲਈ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਰਹਿਣ ਦਿਓ, ਅਸੀਂ ਵੇਖੀਏ, ਭਲਾ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਾਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ? BSB BSB: And someone ran and filled a sponge with sour wine. He put it on a reed and held it up for Jesus to drink, saying, “Leave Him alone. Let us see if Elijah comes to take Him down.”
38 ULB ਅਤੇ ਹੈਕਲ ਦਾ ਪੜਦਾ ਉੱਪਰੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਫਟ ਕੇ ਦੋ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। BSB BSB: And the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.
39 ULB ਜਦ ਉਸ ਸੂਬੇਦਾਰ ਨੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਸੀ ਇਹ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਇਉਂ ਸਾਹ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਬੋਲਿਆ, ਇਹ ਪੁਰਖ ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ! BSB BSB: When the centurion standing there in front of Jesus saw how He had breathed His last, he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God!”
40 ULB ਕਈ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੂਰੋਂ ਵੇਖ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਮਰਿਯਮ ਮਗਦਲੀਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਅਤੇ ਯੋਸੇਸ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਮਰਿਯਮ ਅਤੇ ਸਲੋਮੀ ਸੀ। BSB BSB: And there were also women watching from a distance. Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joses, and Salome.
41 ULB ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਹ ਗਲੀਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਓਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਈਆਂ ਸਨ। BSB BSB: These women had followed Jesus and ministered to Him while He was in Galilee, and there were many other women who had come up to Jerusalem with Him.

43 ULB ਅਰਿਮਥੇਆ ਦਾ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਇੱਕ ਮਾਨਯੋਗ ਸਲਾਹਕਾਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਆਪ ਵੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਧੜਕ ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਕੋਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀ ਲੋਥ ਮੰਗੀ। BSB BSB: Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent Council member who himself was waiting for the kingdom of God, boldly went to Pilate to ask for the body of Jesus.
45 ULB ਅਤੇ ਸੂਬੇਦਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਮਲੂਮ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਲੋਥ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਆ ਦਿੱਤੀ। BSB BSB: When Pilate had confirmed it with the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.
