1 ULB ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਸੁਣੀ। BSB BSB: At that time Herod the tetrarch heard the reports about Jesus
2 ULB ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਇਹ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜੀ ਉੱਠਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਆਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ! BSB BSB: and said to his servants, “This is John the Baptist; he has risen from the dead! That is why miraculous powers are at work in him.”
3 ULB ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾ ਫ਼ਿਲਿੱਪੁਸ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਹੇਰੋਦਿਯਾਸ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਫੜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਕੈਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। BSB BSB: Now Herod had arrested John and bound him and put him in prison on account of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife,
4 ULB ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਯੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ। BSB BSB: because John had been telling him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
5 ULB ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਡਰਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਬੀ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਸਨ। BSB BSB: Although Herod wanted to kill John, he was afraid of the people, because they regarded John as a prophet.
6 ULB ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਦਿਨ ਆਇਆ ਤਦ ਹੇਰੋਦਿਯਾਸ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਨੇ ਨੱਚ ਕੇ ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ। BSB BSB: On Herod’s birthday, however, the daughter of Herodias danced before them and pleased Herod
7 ULB ਤਾਂ ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਨੇ ਸਹੁੰ ਖਾਧੀ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੁੱਝ ਉਹ ਮੰਗੇ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ। BSB BSB: so much that he promised with an oath to give to her whatever she asked.
8 ULB ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਕਸਾਏ ਜਾਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ, “ਹੁਣੇ ਇੱਥੇ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਥਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਦਿਓ”। BSB BSB: Prompted by her mother, she said, “Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptist.”
9 ULB ਤਦ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਉਦਾਸ ਹੋਇਆ, ਪਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਹੁੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਬੈਠੇ ਸਨ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। BSB BSB: The king was grieved, but because of his oaths and his guests, he ordered that her wish be granted
10 ULB ਅਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਭੇਜ ਕੇ ਕੈਦਖ਼ਾਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਵਢਵਾ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ। BSB BSB: and sent to have John beheaded in the prison.
11 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਥਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਕੁੜੀ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਲੈ ਗਈ। BSB BSB: John’s head was brought in on a platter and presented to the girl, who carried it to her mother.
12 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਲਾਸ਼ ਚੁੱਕੀ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਫ਼ਨਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਣ ਕੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ। BSB BSB: Then John’s disciples came and took his body and buried it. And they went and informed Jesus.
13 ULB ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸੁਣਿਆ, ਉਹ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਬੇੜ੍ਹੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਇੱਕ ਉਜਾੜ ਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਲੱਗ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਇਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਨਗਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਪੈਦਲ ਤੁਰ ਪਏ। BSB BSB: When Jesus heard about John, He withdrew by boat privately to a solitary place. But the crowds found out about it and followed Him on foot from the towns.
14 ULB ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਬੇੜੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉਤਰਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਭੀੜ ਵੇਖੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਤਰਸ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਰੋਗੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਕੀਤਾ। BSB BSB: When He stepped ashore and saw a large crowd, He had compassion on them and healed their sick.
15 ULB ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਹੋਈ ਤਾਂ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਇਹ ਥਾਂ ਉਜਾੜ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਦਿਨ ਬਹੁਤ ਢੱਲ਼ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਦਾ ਕਰ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਖਾਣਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਲੈਣ। BSB BSB: When evening came, the disciples came to Him and said, “This is a desolate place, and the hour is already late. Dismiss the crowds so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.”
16 ULB ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਨਹੀਂ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਭੋਜਨ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕਰੋ। BSB BSB: “They do not need to go away,” Jesus replied. “You give them something to eat.”
17 ULB ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਇੱਥੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪੰਜ ਰੋਟੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੋ ਮੱਛੀਆਂ ਹਨ। BSB BSB: “We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered.
18 ULB ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਬੋਲਿਆ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਥੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆਓ। BSB BSB: “Bring them here to Me,” Jesus said.
19 ULB ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਬੈਠਣ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪੰਜ ਰੋਟੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੋ ਮੱਛੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ, ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਬਰਕਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਰੋਟੀਆਂ ਤੋੜ ਕੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੰਡੀਆਂ। BSB BSB: And He directed the crowds to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, He spoke a blessing. Then He broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.
20 ULB ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਰੱਜ ਕੇ ਖਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਬਚੇ ਹੋਏ ਟੁਕੜਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੀਆਂ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਟੋਕਰੀਆਂ ਚੁੱਕੀਆਂ। BSB BSB: They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.
21 ULB ਅਤੇ ਖਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੰਜ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਮਰਦ ਸਨ। BSB BSB: About five thousand men were fed, besides women and children.
22 ULB ਉਹ ਨੇ ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਗਿਆ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਮੈਂ ਭੀੜ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਦਾ ਨਾ ਕਰਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬੇੜੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਓ। BSB BSB: Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of Him to the other side, while He dismissed the crowds.
23 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਭੀੜ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਇਕੱਲਾ ਪਹਾੜ ਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਹੋਈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਉੱਥੇ ਇਕੱਲਾ ਹੀ ਸੀ। BSB BSB: After He had dismissed them, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. When evening came, He was there alone,
24 ULB ਪਰ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਬੇੜੀ ਝੀਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਰੀ ਡੋਲਦੀ ਸੀ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਹਵਾ ਉਲਟੀ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਤੋਂ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ। BSB BSB: but the boat was already far from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.
25 ULB ਅਤੇ ਰਾਤ ਦੇ ਚੌਥੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਝੀਲ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਆਇਆ। BSB BSB: During the fourth watch of the night, Jesus went out to them, walking on the sea.
26 ULB ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਝੀਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਘਬਰਾ ਕੇ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗੇ, ਇਹ ਭੂਤ ਹੈ! ਅਤੇ ਡਰ ਨਾਲ ਚੀਕਾਂ ਮਾਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ। BSB BSB: When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost!” they said, and cried out in fear.
27 ULB ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੌਂਸਲਾ ਰੱਖੋ! ਮੈਂ ਹਾਂ, ਨਾ ਡਰੋ। BSB BSB: But Jesus spoke up at once: “Take courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.”
30 ULB ਪਰ ਹਵਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਡਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਡੁੱਬਣ ਲੱਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਚੀਕ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਬੋਲਿਆ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲੈ! BSB BSB: But when he saw the strength of the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31 ULB ਅਤੇ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਧਾ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਥੋੜ੍ਹੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਵਾਲਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਸ਼ੱਕ ਕੀਤਾ? BSB BSB: Immediately Jesus reached out His hand and took hold of Peter. “You of little faith,” He said, “why did you doubt?”
32 ULB ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਬੇੜੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਏ ਤਾਂ ਹਵਾ ਰੁਕ ਗਈ। BSB BSB: And when they had climbed back into the boat, the wind died down.
34 ULB ਉਹ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਕੇ ਗੰਨੇਸਰਤ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਉੱਤਰੇ। BSB BSB: When they had crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret.
35 ULB ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਭੇਜ ਕੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਰੋਗੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆਏ। BSB BSB: And when the men of that place recognized Jesus, they sent word to all the surrounding region. People brought all the sick to Him
36 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਮਿੰਨਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਦਾ ਪੱਲਾ ਛੂਹਣ ਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਜਿੰਨਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਛੂਹਿਆ ਉਹ ਚੰਗੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ। BSB BSB: and begged Him just to let them touch the fringe of His cloak. And all who touched Him were healed.
