1 ULB ਫਿਰ ਸਾਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਇੱਕ ਮਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਜਲ-ਫਾਟਕ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਚੌਂਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕਠੀ ਹੋਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਜ਼ਰਾ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੂਸਾ ਦੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਆ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। BSB BSB: At that time all the people gathered together in the square before the Water Gate, and they asked Ezra the scribe to bring out the Book of the Law of Moses, which the LORD had commanded for Israel.
2 ULB ਤਦ ਅਜ਼ਰਾ ਜਾਜਕ ਸੱਤਵੇਂ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਤਾਰੀਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੀ ਸਭਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਪੁਰਖ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਸਮਝ ਸਕਦੇ ਸਨ, ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ, BSB BSB: On the first day of the seventh month, Ezra the priest brought the Law before the assembly of men and women and all who could listen and understand.
3 ULB ਅਤੇ ਜਲ ਫਾਟਕ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਚੌਂਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੌਹ ਫੁੱਟਣ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ ਤੱਕ ਪੁਰਖਾਂ, ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਸਮਝ ਸਕਦੇ ਸਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਦੇ ਕੰਨ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਵੱਲ ਲੱਗੇ ਰਹੇ। BSB BSB: So Ezra read it aloud from daybreak until noon as he faced the square before the Water Gate, in front of the men and women and those who could understand. And all the people listened attentively to the Book of the Law.
4 ULB ਤਦ ਅਜ਼ਰਾ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰੀ ਲੱਕੜੀ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਤਖ਼ਤ-ਪੋਸ਼ ਉੱਤੇ ਖੜਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਇਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਲਈ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਮੱਤੀਥਯਾਹ, ਸ਼ਮਆ, ਅਨਾਯਾਹ, ਊਰੀਯਾਹ, ਹਿਲਕੀਯਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਮਆਸੇਯਾਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਖੱਬੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਪਦਾਯਾਹ, ਮੀਸ਼ਾਏਲ, ਮਲਕੀਯਾਹ, ਹਾਸ਼ੁਮ, ਹਸ਼ਬੱਦਾਨਾਹ, ਜ਼ਕਰਯਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਮਸ਼ੁੱਲਾਮ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਸਨ। BSB BSB: Ezra the scribe stood on a high wooden platform built for this occasion. At his right side stood Mattithiah, Shema, Anaiah, Uriah, Hilkiah, and Maaseiah, and at his left were Pedaiah, Mishael, Malchijah, Hashum, Hash-baddanah, Zechariah, and Meshullam.
5 ULB ਤਦ ਅਜ਼ਰਾ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਸੀ, ਸਾਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਦੇ ਵੇਖਦਿਆਂ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਦਿਆਂ ਸਾਰ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਖੜੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ। BSB BSB: Ezra opened the book in full view of all the people, since he was standing above them all, and as he opened it, all the people stood up.
6 ULB ਤਦ ਅਜ਼ਰਾ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਹਾਨ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਕਿਹਾ, ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਚੁੱਕ ਕੇ ''ਆਮੀਨ ਆਮੀਨ" ਕਿਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੱਕ ਸਿਰ ਝੁਕਾ ਕੇ ਮੱਥਾ ਟੇਕਿਆ। BSB BSB: Then Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God, and with their hands uplifted, all the people said, “Amen, Amen!” Then they bowed down and worshiped the LORD with their faces to the ground.
7 ULB ਤਦ ਯੇਸ਼ੂਆ, ਬਾਨੀ, ਸੇਰੇਬਯਾਹ, ਯਾਮੀਨ, ਅੱਕੂਬ, ਸ਼ਬਥਈ, ਹੋਦੀਯਾਹ, ਮਅਸੇਯਾਹ, ਕਲੀਟਾ, ਅਜ਼ਰਯਾਹ, ਯੋਜ਼ਾਬਾਦ, ਹਨਾਨ, ਪਲਾਯਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਸਮਝਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਜਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਖੜ੍ਹੀ ਰਹੀ। BSB BSB: The Levites—Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, and Pelaiah—instructed the people in the Law as they stood in their places.

Do not mourn or weep.” For all the people were weeping as they heard the words of the Law.

Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
11 ULB ਤਦ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਕੀਤਾ, "ਚੁੱਪ ਰਹੋ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਅੱਜ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਦਾਸ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੋ।" BSB BSB: And the Levites calmed all the people, saying, “Be still, since today is holy. Do not grieve.”
12 ULB ਤਦ ਸਾਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਖਾਣ-ਪੀਣ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੋਜਨ ਵਸਤੂਆਂ ਭੇਜਣ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜੋ ਬਚਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਾਏ ਗਏ ਸਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਸਮਝ ਲਏ ਸਨ। BSB BSB: Then all the people began to eat and drink, to send out portions, and to rejoice greatly, because they understood the words that had been made known to them.
13 ULB ਦੂਜੇ ਦਿਨ ਵੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਦੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀਏ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਜਕ ਅਤੇ ਲੇਵੀ ਅਜ਼ਰਾ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰੀ ਕੋਲ ਇੱਕਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਦੇਣ। BSB BSB: On the second day of the month, the heads of all the families, along with the priests and Levites, gathered around Ezra the scribe to study the words of the Law.
14 ULB ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇਹ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਸੱਤਵੇਂ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੇ ਪਰਬ ਲਈ ਡੇਰਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰਨ BSB BSB: And they found written in the Law, which the LORD had commanded through Moses, that the Israelites were to dwell in booths during the feast of the seventh month,

16 ULB ਤਦ ਲੋਕ ਬਾਹਰ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਟਹਿਣੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਦੀ ਛੱਤ ਉੱਤੇ, ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਹੜਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਦੇ ਵਿਹੜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਜਲ-ਫਾਟਕ ਦੇ ਚੌਂਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਅਫ਼ਰਾਈਮੀ ਫਾਟਕ ਦੇ ਚੌਂਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਡੇਰੇ ਬਣਾਏ। BSB BSB: And the people went out, brought back branches, and made booths on their own rooftops, in their courtyards, in the courts of the house of God, and in the squares by the Water Gate and by the Gate of Ephraim.
17 ULB ਸਾਰੀ ਸਭਾ ਨੇ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਗ਼ੁਲਾਮੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਮੁੜ ਆਈ ਸੀ, ਡੇਰੇ ਬਣਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਨੂਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੇਸ਼ੂਆ ਦੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਤੱਕ ਇਸਰੇਲੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਹੋਇਆ। BSB BSB: The whole assembly that had returned from exile made booths and lived in them. From the days of Joshua son of Nun until that day, the Israelites had not celebrated like this. And there was great rejoicing.
18 ULB ਫਿਰ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਖਰੀ ਦਿਨ ਤੱਕ ਅਜ਼ਰਾ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੱਤ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਪਰਬ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਠਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ਨਿਯਮ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਮਹਾਸਭਾ ਹੋਈ। BSB BSB: Day after day, from the first day to the last, Ezra read from the Book of the Law of God. The Israelites kept the feast for seven days, and on the eighth day they held an assembly, according to the ordinance.
