He said:

6ਸ਼ਿਮਓਨ ਲਈ ਸੂਰੀਸ਼ਦਾਈ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸ਼ਲੁਮੀਏਲ।from Simeon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai;

7ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਲਈ ਅੰਮੀਨਾਦਾਬ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨਹਸ਼ੋਨ।from Judah, Nahshon son of Amminadab;

8ਯਿੱਸਾਕਾਰ ਲਈ ਸੂਆਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨਥਨਿਏਲ।from Issachar, Nethanel son of Zuar;

9ਜ਼ਬੂਲੁਨ ਲਈ ਹੇਲੋਨ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਲੀਆਬ।from Zebulun, Eliab son of Helon;

10ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਅਫ਼ਰਈਮ ਲਈ ਅੰਮੀਹੂਦ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾਮਾ। ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਲਈ ਪਦਾਹਸੂਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਗਮਲੀਏਲ।from the sons of Joseph: from Ephraim, Elishama son of Ammihud, and from Manasseh, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur;

11ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਲਈ ਗਿਦਓਨੀ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਬੀਦਾਨ।from Benjamin, Abidan son of Gideoni;

12ਦਾਨ ਲਈ ਅੰਮੀਸ਼ਦਾਈ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਹੀਅਜ਼ਰ।from Dan, Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai;

13ਆਸ਼ੇਰ ਲਈ ਆਕਰਾਨ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਪਗੀਏਲ।from Asher, Pagiel son of Ocran;

14ਗਾਦ ਲਈ ਦਊਏਲ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਲਯਾਸਾਫ਼।from Gad, Eliasaph son of Deuel;

15ਨਫ਼ਤਾਲੀ ਲਈ ਏਨਾਨ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਹੀਰਾ।and from Naphtali, Ahira son of Enan.”

16ਇਹ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਉ-ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਗੋਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸਨ।These men were appointed from the congregation; they were the leaders of the tribes of their fathers, the heads of the clans of Israel.

19ਜਿਵੇਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਉਸਨੇ ਸੀਨਈ ਦੀ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ।just as the LORD had commanded Moses. So Moses numbered them in the Wilderness of Sinai:

20ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੌਠੇ ਰਊਬੇਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੰਸ਼ਾਵਲੀ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਕੁਲਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜਿੰਨੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਵੀਹ ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਜਾਂ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਸਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਗਿਣੇ ਗਏ।From the sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel, according to the records of their clans and families, counting one by one the names of every male twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

21ਰਊਬੇਨ ਦੇ ਗੋਤ ਦੇ ਗਿਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਪੁਰਖ ਛਿਆਲੀ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਪੰਜ ਸੌ ਸਨ।those registered to the tribe of Reuben numbered 46,500.

22ਸ਼ਿਮਓਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੰਸ਼ਾਵਲੀ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਕੁਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜਿੰਨੇ ਪੁਰਖ ਵੀਹ ਸਾਲ ਜਾਂ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਸਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਗਿਣੇ ਗਏ।From the sons of Simeon, according to the records of their clans and families, counting one by one the names of every male twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

23ਸ਼ਿਮਓਨ ਦੇ ਗੋਤ ਦੇ ਗਿਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਪੁਰਖ ਉਣਾਹਠ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਤਿੰਨ ਸੌ ਸਨ।those registered to the tribe of Simeon numbered 59,300.

24ਗਾਦ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੰਸ਼ਾਵਲੀ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਕੁਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜਿੰਨੇ ਵੀਹ ਸਾਲ ਜਾਂ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਸਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਗਿਣੇ ਗਏ।From the sons of Gad, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

25ਗਾਦ ਦੇ ਗੋਤ ਦੇ ਗਿਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਪੁਰਖ ਪੰਤਾਲੀ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਛੇ ਸੌ ਪੰਜਾਹ ਸਨ।those registered to the tribe of Gad numbered 45,650.

26ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੰਸ਼ਾਵਲੀ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਕੁਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜਿੰਨੇ ਵੀਹ ਸਾਲ ਜਾਂ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਸਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਗਿਣੇ ਗਏ।From the sons of Judah, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

27ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੋਤ ਦੇ ਗਿਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਪੁਰਖ ਚੁਹੱਤਰ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਛੇ ਸੌ ਸਨ।those registered to the tribe of Judah numbered 74,600.

28ਯਿੱਸਾਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੰਸ਼ਾਵਲੀ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਕੁਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਵੀਹ ਸਾਲ ਜਾਂ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਸਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਗਿਣੇ ਗਏ।From the sons of Issachar, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

29ਅਤੇ ਯਿੱਸਾਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਗੋਤ ਦੇ ਗਿਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਚੁਰੰਜਾ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਚਾਰ ਸੌ ਸਨ।those registered to the tribe of Issachar numbered 54,400.

31ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਬੂਲੁਨ ਦੇ ਗੋਤ ਦੇ ਗਿਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਤਵੰਜਾ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਚਾਰ ਸੌ ਸਨ।those registered to the tribe of Zebulun numbered 57,400.

32ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਫ਼ਰਈਮ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੰਸ਼ਾਵਲੀ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਕੁਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਵੀਹ ਸਾਲ ਜਾਂ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਸਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਗਿਣੇ ਗਏ।From the sons of Joseph: From the sons of Ephraim, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

33ਅਤੇ ਅਫ਼ਰਈਮ ਦੇ ਗੋਤ ਦੇ ਗਿਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਚਾਲ੍ਹੀ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਪੰਜ ਸੌ ਪੁਰਖ ਸਨ।those registered to the tribe of Ephraim numbered 40,500.

34ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੰਸ਼ਾਵਲੀ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਕੁਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਵੀਹ ਸਾਲ ਜਾਂ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਸਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਗਿਣੇ ਗਏ।And from the sons of Manasseh, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

35ਅਤੇ ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਦੇ ਗੋਤ ਦੇ ਗਿਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਪੁਰਖ ਬੱਤੀ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਦੋ ਸੌ ਸਨ।those registered to the tribe of Manasseh numbered 32,200.

36ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੰਸ਼ਾਵਲੀ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਕੁਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਵੀਹ ਸਾਲ ਜਾਂ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਸਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਗਿਣੇ ਗਏ।From the sons of Benjamin, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

37ਅਤੇ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਦੇ ਗੋਤ ਦੇ ਗਿਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਪੁਰਖ ਪੈਂਤੀ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਚਾਰ ਸੌ ਸਨ।those registered to the tribe of Benjamin numbered 35,400.

38ਦਾਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੰਸ਼ਾਵਲੀ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਕੁਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਵੀਹ ਸਾਲ ਜਾਂ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਸਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਗਿਣੇ ਗਏ।From the sons of Dan, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

39ਅਤੇ ਦਾਨ ਦੇ ਗੋਤ ਦੇ ਗਿਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਪੁਰਖ ਬਾਹਠ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਸੱਤ ਸੌ ਸਨ।those registered to the tribe of Dan numbered 62,700.

41ਅਤੇ ਆਸ਼ੇਰ ਦੇ ਗੋਤ ਦੇ ਗਿਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕਤਾਲੀ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਪੰਜ ਸੌ ਸਨ।those registered to the tribe of Asher numbered 41,500.

43ਅਤੇ ਨਫ਼ਤਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਗੋਤ ਦੇ ਗਿਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਪੁਰਖ ਤਰਵੰਜਾ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਚਾਰ ਸੌ ਸਨ।those registered to the tribe of Naphtali numbered 53,400.

44ਇਹ ਉਹ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਗਿਣੇ ਗਏ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੂਸਾ, ਹਾਰੂਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਗਿਣਿਆ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਲਈ ਸਨ।These were the men numbered by Moses and Aaron, with the assistance of the twelve leaders of Israel, each one representing his family.

45ਸੋ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਗਿਣੇ ਗਏ ਵੀਹ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਜਾਂ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਸਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਸਨ।So all the Israelites twenty years of age or older who could serve in Israel’s army were counted according to their families.

46ਸਾਰੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਗਿਣੇ ਗਏ ਛੇ ਲੱਖ ਤਿੰਨ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਪੰਜ ਸੋ ਪੰਜਾਹ ਸਨ।And all those counted totaled 603,550.

47ਪਰ ਲੇਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਉ-ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਗੋਤ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਗਿਣੇ ਗਏ।The Levites, however, were not numbered along with them by the tribe of their fathers.

48ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆFor the LORD had said to Moses:

49ਕਿ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਗੋਤ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਨਾ ਗਿਣੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਕਰੀਂ।“Do not number the tribe of Levi in the census with the other Israelites.

50ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਖੀ ਦੇ ਡੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਿਯੁੱਕਤ ਕਰੀਂ। ਉਹ ਡੇਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਚੁੱਕਣ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਡੇਰੇ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੰਬੂ ਲਾਉਣ।Instead, you are to appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the Testimony, all its furnishings, and everything in it. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its articles, care for it, and camp around it.

51ਜਦ ਡੇਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਲੇਵੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਉਤਾਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਡੇਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਉਣਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕਰਨ ਪਰ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਅਜਨਬੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਆਵੇ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ।Whenever the tabernacle is to move, the Levites are to take it down, and whenever it is to be pitched, the Levites are to set it up. Any outsider who goes near it must be put to death.

52ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੰਬੂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਾਉਣ ਕਿ ਹਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਡੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਝੰਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਸੈਨਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੋਵੇ।The Israelites are to camp by their divisions, each man in his own camp and under his own standard.

53ਪਰ ਲੇਵੀ ਸਾਖੀ ਦੇ ਡੇਰੇ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੰਬੂ ਲਾਉਣ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾ ਭੜਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਲੇਵੀ ਸਾਖੀ ਦੇ ਡੇਰੇ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਕਰਨ।But the Levites are to camp around the tabernacle of the Testimony and watch over it, so that no wrath will fall on the congregation of Israel. So the Levites are responsible for the tabernacle of the Testimony.”

54ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ।Thus the Israelites did everything just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
