6 ULB ਜਿਹੜੇ ਨਗਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਓਗੇ ਉਹ ਛੇ ਨਗਰ ਪਨਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਗਰ ਹੋਣ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਖੂਨੀ ਦੇ ਭੱਜ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਠਹਿਰਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬਿਆਲੀ ਨਗਰ ਹੋਰ ਦਿਓ। BSB BSB: Six of the cities you give the Levites are to be appointed as cities of refuge, to which a manslayer may flee. In addition to these, give the Levites forty-two other cities.
7 ULB ਸੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਗਰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਓ ਅਠਤਾਲੀ ਨਗਰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲਾਟ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਣ। BSB BSB: The total number of cities you give the Levites will be forty-eight, with their corresponding pasturelands.

9 ULB ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, BSB BSB: Then the LORD said to Moses,
10 ULB ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ, ਜਦ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਨਾਨ ਦੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਰਦਨ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘੋ BSB BSB: “Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When you cross the Jordan into the land of Canaan,

13 ULB ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਨਗਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦਿਓ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਛੇ ਨਗਰ ਪਨਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਗਰ ਹੋਣ। BSB BSB: The cities you select will be your six cities of refuge.
14 ULB ਤਿੰਨ ਨਗਰ ਯਰਦਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਨਗਰ ਕਨਾਨ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਠਹਿਰਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਪਨਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਗਰ ਹੋਣ। BSB BSB: Select three cities across the Jordan and three in the land of Canaan as cities of refuge.

16 ULB ਪਰ ਜੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਹੇ ਦੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਖੂਨੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਖੂਨੀ ਜਰੂਰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ। BSB BSB: If, however, anyone strikes a person with an iron object and kills him, he is a murderer; the murderer must surely be put to death.
17 ULB ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੱਥਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਮਰ ਸਕੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਖੂਨੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਖੂਨੀ ਜਰੂਰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ। BSB BSB: Or if anyone has in his hand a stone of deadly size, and he strikes and kills another, he is a murderer; the murderer must surely be put to death.
18 ULB ਜਾਂ ਜੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਲੱਕੜੀ ਦੇ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਮਰ ਸਕੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਖੂਨੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਖੂਨੀ ਜਰੂਰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ। BSB BSB: If anyone has in his hand a deadly object of wood, and he strikes and kills another, he is a murderer; the murderer must surely be put to death.
19 ULB ਖੂਨ ਦਾ ਬਦਲਾ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਪ ਉਸ ਖੂਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟੇ। BSB BSB: The avenger of blood is to put the murderer to death; when he finds him, he is to kill him.
20 ULB ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੈਰ ਨਾਲ ਧੱਕਾ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾਂ ਘਾਤ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ BSB BSB: Likewise, if anyone maliciously pushes another or intentionally throws an object at him and kills him,
21 ULB ਜਾਂ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥੀਂ ਮਾਰੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਮਾਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਜਰੂਰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ, ਉਹ ਖੂਨੀ ਹੈ। ਬਦਲਾ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਜਦ ਕਦੀ ਉਹ ਲੱਭੇ ਉਸ ਖੂਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟੇ। BSB BSB: or if in hostility he strikes him with his hand and he dies, the one who struck him must surely be put to death; he is a murderer. When the avenger of blood finds the murderer, he is to kill him.
22 ULB ਪਰ ਜੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਅਚਾਨਕ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਧੱਕਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਜਾਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਘਾਤ ਲਾਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੁਝ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ। BSB BSB: But if anyone pushes a person suddenly, without hostility, or throws an object at him unintentionally,
23 ULB ਜਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਪੱਥਰ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਮਰ ਸਕੇ ਵੇਖੇ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਵੈਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਨਾ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ। BSB BSB: or without looking drops a heavy stone that kills him, but he was not an enemy and did not intend to harm him,

25 ULB ਅਤੇ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਉਸ ਖੂਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਲਾ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਛੁਡਾ ਕੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਨਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੋੜ ਦੇਵੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਭੱਜ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਤੱਕ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਤੇਲ ਨਾਲ ਮਸਹ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਵੱਸੇ। BSB BSB: The assembly is to protect the manslayer from the hand of the avenger of blood. Then the assembly will return him to the city of refuge to which he fled, and he must live there until the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the holy oil.
26 ULB ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਕਦੀ ਉਹ ਖੂਨੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਗਰ ਦੀ ਹੱਦ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਨੱਠਾ ਸੀ ਜਾਵੇ। BSB BSB: But if the manslayer ever goes outside the limits of the city of refuge to which he fled
27 ULB ਅਤੇ ਖੂਨ ਦਾ ਬਦਲਾ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਨਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਗਰ ਦੀ ਹੱਦੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਮਿਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਖੂਨ ਦਾ ਬਦਲਾ ਲੈਣ ਉਸ ਖੂਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਖੂਨ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। BSB BSB: and the avenger of blood finds him outside of his city of refuge and kills him, then the avenger will not be guilty of bloodshed,
28 ULB ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਤੱਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਨਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ, ਪਰ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਉਹ ਖੂਨੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੜ ਜਾਵੇ BSB BSB: because the manslayer must remain in his city of refuge until the death of the high priest. Only after the death of the high priest may he return to the land he owns.
29 ULB ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਨਿਆਉਂ ਦੀ ਬਿਧੀ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀਓਂ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਵੇ। BSB BSB: This will be a statutory ordinance for you for the generations to come, wherever you live.
30 ULB ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰੇ, ਉਹ ਗਵਾਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ, ਪਰ ਇੱਕੋ ਹੀ ਗਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਤੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਨਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ। BSB BSB: If anyone kills a person, the murderer is to be put to death on the testimony of the witnesses. But no one is to be put to death based on the testimony of a lone witness.
32 ULB ਜਿਹੜਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਨਾਹ ਨਗਰ ਨੂੰ ਭੱਜ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਜਕ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਆ ਵੱਸੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੋਈ ਜੁਰਮਾਨਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਦਲੇ ਨਾ ਲਓ। BSB BSB: Nor should you accept a ransom for the person who flees to a city of refuge and allow him to return and live on his own land before the death of the high priest.
33 ULB ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਨੂੰ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹੋ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਖੂਨ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੂਨ ਵਹਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਖੂਨ ਵਹਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਖੂਨ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਸ਼ਚਿਤ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। BSB BSB: Do not pollute the land where you live, for bloodshed pollutes the land, and no atonement can be made for the land on which the blood is shed, except by the blood of the one who shed it.
34 ULB ਜਿਸ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵਾਸ ਕਰੋਗੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਵੱਸਾਂਗਾ, ਉਸ ਨਗਰ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਨਾ ਕਰਨਾ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ। BSB BSB: Do not defile the land where you live and where I dwell. For I, the LORD, dwell among the Israelites.”
