1. 1BLIVREO que era desde o princípio, o que ouvimos, o que vimos com os nossos olhos, o que temos contemplado, e nossas mãos tocaram, quanto à Palavra da vida,BSBBSB: That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our own eyes, which we have gazed upon and touched with our own hands—this is the Word of life.
2. 2BLIVRE(pois a vida já foi manifesta, e nós a vimos, demos testemunho, e vos anunciamos a vida eterna, que estava com o Pai, e a nós foi manifesta)BSBBSB: And this is the life that was revealed; we have seen it and testified to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us.
3. 3BLIVREo que vimos e ouvimos, isso vos anunciamos, para que também vós tenhais comunhão conosco. E a nossa comunhão é com o Pai, e com o seu Filho Jesus Cristo.BSBBSB: We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And this fellowship of ours is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.
4. 4BLIVREEstas coisas vos escrevemos para que a vossa alegria seja completa.BSBBSB: We write these things so that our joy may be complete.
5. 5BLIVREE esta é a mensagem que dele ouvimos, e vos anunciamos: que Deus é luz, e não há nele nada de trevas.BSBBSB: And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you: God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
6. 6BLIVRESe dissermos que temos comunhão com ele, e andarmos em trevas, mentimos, e não praticamos a verdade.BSBBSB: If we say we have fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
7. 7BLIVREPorém, se andamos na luz, como ele está na luz, temos comunhão uns com os outros, e o sangue de Jesus Cristo, seu Filho, nos purifica de todo pecado.BSBBSB: But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
8. 8BLIVRESe dissermos que não temos pecado, enganamos a nós mesmos, e a verdade não está em nós.BSBBSB: If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9. 9BLIVRESe confessarmos nossos pecados, ele é fiel e justo para nos perdoar os pecados e nos purificar de toda injustiça.BSBBSB: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10. 10BLIVRESe dissermos que não pecamos, nós o fazemos de mentiroso, e a palavra dele não está em nós.BSBBSB: If we say we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar, and His word is not in us.
