1Depois que Jesus terminou esse discurso, deixou a Galileia e foi para o outro lado do rio Jordão, voltando para a região da Judeia.When Jesus had finished saying these things, He left Galilee and went into the region of Judea beyond the Jordan.

3Alguns fariseus vieram interrogar Jesus, procurando fazê-lo cair numa armadilha. “É permitido ao homem divorciar-se de sua mulher por qualquer motivo?”, perguntaram eles.Then some Pharisees came and tested Him by asking, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason?”

4“Vocês não leem as Escrituras?”, respondeu ele. “Nelas está escrito que no começo Deus criou o homem e a mulher,Jesus answered, “Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’

5e que o homem deve deixar seu pai e sua mãe, e unir-se à sua esposa e os dois se tornarão uma só carne.and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’?

8Jesus respondeu: “Moisés fez isso por causa dos corações duros e maus de vocês, mas não foi isso o que Deus estabeleceu no princípio.Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because of your hardness of heart. But it was not this way from the beginning.

10Então os discípulos de Jesus disseram-lhe: “Se essa é a situação entre homem e mulher, é melhor não casar!”His disciples said to Him, “If this is the case between a man and his wife, it is better not to marry.”

13Depois trouxeram crianças a Jesus, para que ele pusesse suas mãos sobre elas e orasse por elas. And the disciples rebuked those who brought them.

14Então Jesus disse: “Não proíbam que as crianças venham a mim, porque o Reino dos céus pertence àqueles que são como estas crianças”.But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

16Alguém veio a Jesus com esta pergunta: “Bom Mestre, que devo fazer para herdar a vida eterna?”Just then a man came up to Jesus and inquired, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to obtain eternal life?”

17“Bom?”, perguntou ele. “Só há um que é realmente bom — e esse é Deus. Mas se você quer entrar na vida, guarde os mandamentos”.“Why do you ask Me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”

18“Quais?”, perguntou o homem. E Jesus respondeu: “Não mate, não cometa adultério, não roube, não minta,“Which ones?” the man asked. Jesus answered, “‘Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not bear false witness,

19honre o seu pai e a sua mãe e ame ao seu próximo como a você mesmo!”honor your father and mother, and love your neighbor as yourself.’”

20“Eu sempre tenho obedecido a cada um deles”, respondeu o jovem. “Que mais preciso fazer?”“All these I have kept,” said the young man. “What do I still lack?”

21Jesus lhe disse: “Se quer ser perfeito, vá e venda tudo o que tem, dê o dinheiro aos pobres, e você terá um tesouro no céu. Depois venha e siga-me”.Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.”

22Mas quando o jovem ouviu isto, foi embora triste, porque era muito rico.When the young man heard this, he went away in sorrow, because he had great wealth.

23Então Jesus disse aos seus discípulos: “É quase impossível um rico entrar no Reino dos céus.Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.

24Eu lhes digo ainda: É mais fácil um camelo passar pelo fundo de uma agulha do que um rico entrar no Reino de Deus!”Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

25Esta observação confundiu os discípulos. “Então, quem neste mundo pode ser salvo?”, perguntaram.When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?”

26Jesus olhou atentamente para eles e disse: “Humanamente falando, ninguém. Mas para Deus, tudo é possível”.Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

27Então Pedro lhe disse: “Nós deixamos tudo para seguir o Senhor. O que nós vamos ganhar?”“Look,” Peter replied, “we have left everything to follow You. What then will there be for us?”

28E Jesus respondeu: “Digo a verdade a vocês: Quando chegar o tempo em que Deus vai renovar tudo, e o Filho do Homem se assentar no seu glorioso trono no Reino, vocês, os meus discípulos, se sentarão em doze tronos para julgar as doze tribos de Israel.Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, in the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on His glorious throne, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

29E todo aquele que deixar o lar, irmãos, irmãs, o pai, a mãe, a esposa, os filhos ou propriedades para me seguir, receberá cem vezes mais e herdará a vida eterna.And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for the sake of My name will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life.

30Mas muitos que agora são os primeiros serão os últimos; e muitos que são os últimos serão os primeiros”.But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first.
